QUOTE (berniefl33 @ May 29 2009, 10:01 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi everybody

i was approved on april 27th with a hard copy notice in the mail for my i-751----i called yesterday to see where my card was with a service enquiry about my card- because it was past 30 days---and today i received this email---

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. i was approved on april 27th and my status online said that my case was transferred to csc on march 12th until i recieved the above email

i wonder what this means? does it mean that they are going to send my card next or should i call back or just wait it out and see if i get my card production email next?

any ideas?

my 1 cent here, most likely--- they change their mind...

call and verify.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion regarding affidavits from friends/family
QUOTE (Karly-n-Bruce @ May 21 2009, 11:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone! I recognize some of you from the AOS board, specifically from the "May Filers" thread. smile.gif

I have been browsing this board for a few weeks now and researching so that I'm ready and up-to-date when I file to remove conditions at the end of June/beginning of July. I've searched for an answer to what I'm about to ask but I have been unsuccessful in finding anything. I know how annoying it can be when the same question is asked over and over again so please know that I did my best to find the answer before I asked. As far as the sworn affidavits from family/friends go, does the writer have to be a US citizen? The directions on the I-751 form don't specify one way or the other and I want to know if anyone here knows the answer before I ask a couple of Canadian friends to write one for me. helpsmilie.gif

One last thought though, your check may be rejected along with the entire packet. Not because it is a check, nor because they would wait to cash the check to issue a NOA1, but because of the error in making it payable to USCIS.

I know, I have a BUNCH of CHECKS here though....lol
......... well. it is what it is, so what can I do but to wait.

In reference to paragraph I : ---- - It is so obvious that this is the subject matter of my post. However, the issue was just diverted when someone posted (based on his/her experience) the MO vs Check...

If so, don't hesitate to use a new check, made payable to Department of Homeland Security of course!

By the way, I was supposed to mail my packet via express mail, but our local postmaster said that Priority and Express Mail will reach its destination by Monday as I mailed it Saturday (and their close on Sunday)---- so why waste $$$ for the Express shipping on weekends??

We'll see via tracking if postmaster's claim is right.

Check vs MO, I will use my check... good.gif

Hi chizkeyk,

Please 1st timeline.gif or put your info in your signature.

Can you tell us when your GC expires? If you have time don't worry, they will definitely send your packet back telling you the reason it was reject which you know already.

I would suggest once you get the packet back ( which might take 7-10 days) send them via USPS Express with delivery confirmation and also send a money order ( to get NOA faster) and make it to U.S. Department of Homeland Security don't use abbreviations please as they mentioned not to use them in the I-751 Instructions.

Good Luck.

Where is this published? As far as I know there is absolutely no proof that MO's result in faster NOA's...

Hi payxibka,

It's not published any where. But I did it and suggested other VJ I-751 filers and they did and they got their NOA faster. USCIS has to clear check from the bank which can take 3-5 business days or more. MO (Money Order) is like cash and they can deposit and get the funds right away. Please look at my signature.

So in order to save time for clearing the check Money Order gives your faster NOA cause they USCIS don't have to wait for the check to clear and then send the applicant NOA.

well, yeah, common sense dictates as to the usability of MO vs CHECK....

Thanks for replying me back... hoping that they would accept my check... we'll see, otherwise I will expedite mailing it back to them....

I just mailed my I-751 Packet, then I realized that I wrote both checks to the wrong payee.... I put U.S.C.I.S. instead of United States Department of Homeland Security.

What should I do now? Should I mail another CHECK on Monday?

Goodness.... I do really feel bad about this... What a shame....

Any inputs.... Thanks.

You should know that because as you have said, you are a Master's degree holder. You should know the difference between a "notice" and a "card".

I agree! good.gif

The fact that he holds a master's degree doesn't magically entitle him to know every single aspect of the immigration process.

Thanks for your intelligent responce. Your level of education does not matter when it comes to the unconventional ways USCIS operates. How can you explain it: when USCIS approves a case about a month ago, sent an hard copy of an approval letter, ordered the production of your card two times within a week - with different dates, and now turn around to send an email that approval notice sent again.
I am not an idiot, I know the differnce between a notice and a card. The logical sequence after 'card production ordered should be 'card mailed'.
My post is just meant to further expose the inadequacies of USCIS. The most immigration savy, and well educated might and will never understand the unconventional ways that USCIS operate. USCIS will sometimes put the cart before the horse. It will sometimes send a CRIS email that 'approval notice sent', and what you will see in the mail will be the actual GREEN CARD. USCIS will send your card before your get approval notice in the mail. Your case could be approved now, and latter be pending approval at CSC. Approval notice, the GC, transfer notice, and more junks could come in the mail at the same time. Where is sequence or logic?
I put the question out there because I know somebody must have received the email that says 'approval notice sent' and end up getting the GC in the mail. So, I'm not stupid.

Of course, I can hardly contain myself when I see a letter from USCIS in the mail today. Riiiiip it open & it is another freakin I-797C - I have another bio. app. on the 08/22. What has happened? I did biometrics on 04/15!!! 3 & a half months of waiting after my original bio. for another appointment?
Does this seem correct? Should I call the mis-information line or just have biometrics done, AGAIN??
Oh!! And my name is now MISSPELT on this NOA. There is an 'e' in the middle of my first name when there is not supposed to be. Previous correspondence has had my name spelt correctly.
Man, I am so bummed out right now!! dead.gif

What freakin w@nkers!!!!!!!!!!
