CanadaIR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview
I finally broke down and called nvc again. "kyle was polite" I asked if the October interviews were done being scheduled. He said he wasn't sure, could I hold on a moment and he would check. He came back and told me that october interviews are still being scheduled for the next few days! Well I kinda guessed that but you know I was really hoping he would say "oh look I see a date on your case file" but that didnt happen. I sorta wish they would tell the truth all the time though. sounds weird but I would rather have them say all the interviews are filled so i wont think about it till next month.

I know exactly what you mean MTLgato, I saw that yesterday and thought, "what the heck?" why can they get to schedule their own and not us? I too am happy for everyone getting interviews whether you are cr or k1 its nice to see movement. However where is our movement? why cant we schedule our own interviews as well? They seem to be updating stuff but why are we being left in the dark? I totally understand the comfortableness you are going through right now mtlgato, Plus if it is hot where you are it will just make it ten times worse. I hope that baby comes soon :P hang in there

The thing is that they really don't care...it's just administrative stuff and there are thousands of people applying and getting interviews. While each individual may care about someone's situation the overall machinery of beaurocracy doesn't....so if you can't make the interview for whatever reason, you reschedule and move to the back of the line.

It's a really tough situation for MTLgato....hopefully she can make the interview but man that's so close and like she said, there are no guarantees the baby will arrive on schedule.

Good luck there.

I think making your voice heard to the local congressman or woman wouldn't hurt, given the special circumstances.

Good luck to all !! I'm glad that there is some movement in the process and interviews are happening !!

I am still not going to hold my breathe, they seem to have made one step forward and stopped again haha. I am sooo tired of waiting and yet I cannot get my mind off waiting. Haha Maybe within the next few weeks I will hear something, but the fact that no one ahead of me has heard anything yet makes me doubt it.

Sorry to barge in on your conversation, but just wanted to comment...I work in the birthing center in my city & we do convenience inductions all the time. Most of our ladies usually have stupid reasons, but, you have a very valid reason & I cannot see why it would be unethical. Babies can be induced anytime after 38 weeks. They do not grow in the last couple of weeks, they are fully formed. Unless your baby has had problems during this pregnancy, the risks are very low.
Good luck on the delivery of your precious bundle & I hope you get to your interview! :)

I am sorry but after going through being induced, I don't think anyone in there right mind should want to be induced haha. MTL is right about the risk of C-section and depending on how she is induced could really depend on how she reacts to it. I went into the hospital at 7am, was sent home after an hour or so as they had put some gel and told me to come back when the contractions started. (They started the moment I got in the car) I called and talked to a nurse who told me to wait it out till 4, so I sat/stood/showered/cried/whined at home till I couldn't take it anymore, went back to the hospital at 4pm was given a second round of gel and then told to go home again! This time I said no "I am staying right freaking here as I had triple contractions but due to not being dilating they didn't really care) at 8pm I was given the drip to "speed it up" by 12am I was doing the exorcism however at 4am I was checked and had gone from 2cm-8cm. OK epidural time. By the time I had the epidural and had finally relaxed the nurse said we are good to go. My Doctor came in the room with an intern and the intern delivered well my doctor watched king of the hill. Yes I was one of those Girls that "shewolf" was talking about within 2 hours I was up and walking around feeling much better then the last 24 hours. BUT I did have issues I had to walk with a hunch cause I felt like i couldn't breathe, I had after pains, I looked like #######, I would never recommend someone to get an inducement to get on a plane, not to mention that I believe you have to have a birth certificate before the baby can fly. And lastly MTL doesn't seem to want to do that, I believe she would rather have an appointment a few weeks after the baby comes when both mommy and child are doing great. It can be extremely hard just to juggle motherhood in the first few weeks but to add to it she has to juggle Montreal. Just my opinion of course.

Then again I have no clue what regular labor feels like, I just know what it feels like to force your body to have a baby!

DAMN I am sooo sorry Mtlgato, but congrats anyone else who got a date. You know that is ridiculous in your case though, they should really have considered you and they better not screw with you when you ask for another date! You make a stink mtl! :)

I am kind of out of hope here but I really am praying that we all hear some October interviews soon and yes i think when they start there will be a bunch of them. I know I am behind about 5 people to my knowledge so once you guys hear I will sit glued to my email till i hear something. If we don't hear something soon and don't get a date till November More than one government official will be hearing from me, I mean its already been far too long for most of us, but November I think would just be ridiculous. I hope that they give you a date that fits for you mtlgato, I hope you deliver on time :P

I really do hope that they catch up on everybody soon :P

I am sorry it seems I am wrong with the aos process I thought that if you were married and then left the states to your own country and filed a cr or other visa that one could not go visit and just decide to do aos. In that case I should be doing that right now. I have to research that option and read up on the aos process. Sorry for my response prior
CanadiandggalFemaleCanada2010-08-21 13:15:00
CanadaIR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview
You cannot do aos if you are already married. Secondly you already have a case on going, there is nothing you can do but wait it out. although i wish i had done it that way, I came for a visit and we got married, I could have stayed and just did the aos but I had legal matters to deal with in canada to do with my son. I hate the wait, there should be a "oh you've waited to long, You are approved due to the Long wait" clause.:)

Then we all would get approved and live happily ever after :P

Kaya I feel your pain. I was suppose to case complete april 5th but instead case completed May 18th due to a complication. So it is three months now of waiting and more to come I am sure. I am not sure how much more of this i can take. No, as far as I can tell No September Cr-1 interviews have been scheduled. Which sucks but i will make a rant after September 1st as there is still some time in august. You never know

Yeah i called NVC this morning around 730ish . I was hopped up on coffee so they got a ear full, however "Doreen" says that they are currently still scheduling interviews and that she doesn't see a date yet but please call back this afternoon and maybe we will have more information...If not we schedule again in the middle of september! Well no duh haha.

Yes the weeks just keep passing by :( Time is ticking away and we are not hearing anything. The sad part is that Its not just one person Its us all. Not to mention that the line keeps building up with more people case completing. to think that we are now looking at October, that will be 5 months from case complete, that's just as long as it took from filing to case completing with nvc. I knew that we would be waiting a good two months till interview but having to wait 3 months just to hear really is starting to suck. I am seriously thinking that I will make a football team of children and raise them to be Montreal "interview officers" and Border officers. :P On a positive note, Our dates have to be coming soon :) Hang in there Guys

So I would like to say that everyone was and is correct NVC KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT INTERVIEW DATES!. I decided to call today to see if they had begun scheduling interviews yet. I got the response of We have already scheduled all the august interview dates, So I said ok what about sept, she relied You will have to wait another 4 weeks to see if you get a Sept appointment. Then of course I said ok so I will have 4 weeks notice before my interview and she replied yes you find out the month before. So then I said Ok well I have friends who are currently in the process and have received there interview dates approx 8 weeks before, of course then she told me I was lying and that Is not how it works. So I will never call them again ha ha. I am so glad to be past all the nvc stuff.

Hey zenaxe,
You are awesome!! You got to know your interview date faster then we are getting ours. I am so jealous haha. You learned about yours 4 weeks after your case complete, we are going on 8-9 weeks.(which is getting boring) However I am thinking we will hear something in a few weeks and being impatient will not get us any where, Still thinking late September for Our interviews. Now NVC Hurry the heck up haha

If one thing is clear, it's that there is considerable inconsistency with what seems to be taking place on the ground and with what NVC advises or informs. For example we can read posts from people on May 1 and 3rd etc saying they just got emailed by NVC on a Sat etc and that interviews were set up. However, NVC advises that they only schedule interviews during the second week of each month. I spoke with an operator and mentioned this and challenged that information but each time I'm told that they schedule during the second week of each month regardless of what's presented to them. Scripts are being followed. I know we will all get our interviews in due time, that much is inevitable.

It is odd though that you can speak with people at NVC and get this somewhat inaccurate or for sure, inconsistent information. I was told May 15th at latest then by no later than 16th, others told 17th. Now of course they indicate that NVC has completed. The last guy told me to call Montreal to inquire further. I advised him that Montreal always defaults to the 'NVC schedules all interviews and questions are to be direct to them' and so NVC says call the embassy and the consulate says it's NVC"s issue. Who's on first? :bonk: I know NVC and all consulates are working hard and doing the best they can. I get that. But workload is a serious problem and it directly impacts on the lives of those of us in the que and playing the waiting game.

But in keeping with my rant and in appreciation for all those who have contributed and extended the life of the rant, I offer the following message:

 :bonk: :protest: :protest: :protest: :ranting: :ranting: :protest: :protest: :ranting: :ranting: :clock: :clock: :clock: :diablo: :diablo: :girlwerewolf2xn: :protest: :protest:

Hey guys... I got my NVC case complete. may 18th 2010 yay! However I was told the samew thing today, June interviews have all been filled they are unable to predict a interview month. BOO lol

CanadaTrouble With Toronto Medical

I still don't know exactly *why* they wanted another tetanus shot... but I had a voicemail at home from Dr. Seiden asking me to call him tomorrow so I guess I get to continue to be stressed out over whether or not I passed this medical. (What kills me is that it's not like this is over any medical conditions, it's over a tetanus shot, basically. The medical was supposed to be one of the less-stressing parts of this entire experience.)

I was told when I had mine medical at Dr seidens last September that They wanted the shot to be less than 6 months old But preferred that I have it done no longer than 2 months before the medical. So although I think it is ridiculous and cannot see why the want you to get a second, I do know that they would have wanted me to get one to. I hope all goes well and works out. Hang in there

Next time I'll go is the weekend of 5/7-5/8 is to pick up my wife from Toronto. Her interview is on 4/26.. and she should get her passport back by the time I go there. I live in north NJ so it's about 7-7.5 hour drive to North York.. not too bad.

We are in Maryland and it takes us about 8-9 Hours. I am sure your wife will be happy to be out of North york or maybe that was just me. I hated North york lol

Aww! I have some bad days too where I'm like "anti living in the U.S." and miss good ole' Canadian soil. Other times I'm okay, I'll admit, I cry EVERY time I leave though!

Poutine - DELISH! That's one thing I sort of forget to eat each time I'm home...I'm more of a Timmy's girl!

I'm really lucky, we typically can get $49/one way with Southwest from DC to Buffalo. Of course, if it's a Friday/Monday flight don't count on it. Sometimes they have great sales too....

wow yeah I just looked up that on southwest found seats for 49-140 from BWI to Buffalo ...hmmmmmm :)
