Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	So about 5 of my friends are pregnant. Each of them is exactly 5 weeks from each other, one of them is having twins. One of the guys who has a wife who is not pregnant was joking the other night and wouldn't let her talk to the freinds cuz it was "a plague and i don't want her catching it". in a way it was funny but also sad. Kinda crazy how every 5 weeks for the last couple months we find out someone is pregnant. And of course they are like its been 6 weeks, this means someone here is a week pregnant..and they joked it was me. But alas, again, it is not me. and as much as I'm happy for them, i felt like a total outsider as they all sat there reading baby books and talking pregnancy stuff. I just sad their sad like, wondering when my time was. I know things have changed in the last few years with what exactly are "childbearing years" etc, but I'll be 38 now this year. Just out of curiosity, anyone know how hard it is around my age or know of any ways to improve my chances? I really wanna hear the giggle and pitter patter of small feet chasing my dogs lol. I am not very old but I did have a very hard time convincing took too damn long lol Funny thing is We finally went out and bought a Ovulation kit and here I am 12 weeks prego. <giggles> I was advised to do the deed every other day and then daily for the two days once it says you are ovulating. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	My vent about the hospital I was at today.... I had my ultrasound today. It was awesome to see the Heartbeat but I also just finished writing a long letter to the hospital. My husband took off today strictly to be there for me for comfort but most of all to see this first ultrasound.I was called to go to the room and I asked the lady If my husband could come back and she said No as she was doing an internal then told me he could after when she did the tummy one. After the internal she told me I could get dressed again and then told me I was good to go. Not only that but she when I asked how far along I was she told me that when I saw my doctor she would be able to tell me. Canada	when to get State driver License?	When I got my KY state DL I was given the biggest run around. By the time I actually got it I was ready to lay the smack down. Lol! First off online it says that you don't need to take an exam, but really you actually have to do a written exam. I got my KY DL about a month and a half after being here. As far as I know, in KY you can drive with your Canadian DL for up to a year. But to be added to car insurance to make sure you are covered when driving you do need a state license. Car insurance in KY is ridiculous because they are still 1 of 5 states that have this 'no fault' law, which means insurance is pretty expensive. Canada	Ordering Canadian Food Products Online	I Love VH Plum sauce too, I always bring some home with me.   When I was visiting my husband back in the dating days, we went out to eat  with his family for a birthday and I wanted something light to eat so I ordered some chicken tenders and asked for some plum sauce ...LOL big mistake, everyone looked at me like I was the craziest person alive.  Needless to say I quickly asked what other dipping sauces they had...which was ranch...yuck.. This plum sauce thing happened to me last week. Ordered some chicken tenders asked if they had plum sauce and everyone was like HUH? What the heck is that...?! Canada	Ordering Canadian Food Products Online	I have been in the US for 2 and a half months now and I can't believe the things I took for granted up in Canada. I have had a few break downs at the grocery store because of the things I can not seem to find... The latest being Molasses.... Thank gosh my Dad is coming for a visit in a few weeks. I had a few contractions that woke me up last night so I was hoping, but they went away I was just checking to see if you had gone into labor yet..but it seems not. When do they induce in the states? My husband and I will drive down to NC a couple of days before Christmas to see his family, and then he'll drop me at the airport in Raleigh on Christmas morning for a flight to Buffalo. He'll drive up after Boxing Day to spend the remainder of the week in Canada, and then we'll drive back home together. Hopefully, the weather cooperates with this plan. lol awe that sounds great. Canada	Off Topic Part Cinq	well nevermind it was delivered 15 miuntes aog.. the knock woke me up from a very nice nap I was having and then I got really big scare when I saw i had a text from my SIL and she asked if it was ok if my brother flew in tonight.. my place is a mess right now ...lol but then she said he changed his mind... LOL, My house is quite the mess right now as I had absolutely no time to clean yesterday, was at work all day then to an interview at night then had tocoook dinner and well then I fell asleep on the couch. I too am not the large spender when it comes to christmas I dont have the money and I dont feel that christmas should be based off of what you get. One year I got my whole family lotto cards he he. Some even won. This year we are doing a family portrait and sending small things...plus 3 people will get flowers as they "helped" me with all the immigration costs this past year. Canada	Off Topic Part Cinq	I think I mentioned before that I was not able to get pregnant due to blocked tubes. And that was something we wanted even thought I already had kids from my previous marriage. I had a a reversal then was told it would not happen it really broke my heart. Well Recently I broke a tooth its was infected and I was given penicillin and I thought I had reacted to the it. I was so sick, even after I was done the week. Well Monday we fond out I am pregnant. They thought about 2 week, but do to the risk of and ectopic pregnancy I have already had a ultra sound. Turns out I'm like 6 weeks. We are freaking out. This little miracle just saved us 15-20k if we had it to begin with for in vitro. I am so very exited I have been shaking. We were so terrified it might be in the wrong spot but nope every thing is perfect. Danielle Oh that is absolutely amazing, that makes me have some hope. Thats is absolutely awesome, Congrats, you must be sooooo happy!!! We are hoping to have children in the future but I have been told we will most likely need to go through in vito. He decided to bring in cupcakes to work that people can make a donation for one. So I spent the day baking and icing cupcakes. Canada	Off Topic Part Cinq	So my husband goes to the dentist, yesterday, to have some old fillings replaced..... and fell asleep in the chair while they were working on him!!! Who does that? Freak. My hubby does it everytime, although he has some permenent loss of feeling in his mouth due to Jaw surgery years ago so he cannot feel anything (his mouth, jaw,some off his face and even his ears) I think it is still weird lol even if you cannot feel, just hearing someone work on your teeth with the constant buzzing sound...ewww lol Edited by Canadiandggal, 02 October 2010 - 09:53 AM. Canada	Off Topic Part Cinq	Hehe, it's not that it is said differently - it is that it is said at all! In the grocery store if my cart blocks the aisle, I move it and say 'sorry'. If someone else's cart is blocking the aisle, I ask them to move it and I don't get a 'sorry' - I get a 'grunt' or an 'unh unh'. I don't think many Americans are very familiar with the word so that is why it identifies Canadians. Oh, I just remembered that hilarious scene in "Canadian Bacon" where the two sets of bad guys are running and pushing their way through the massed Canadian crowds during the chase scene. The bad guys keep running into the Canadians and knocking them flying - and the Canadians keep saying 'Sorry' "Excuse me" "Oops, Sorry" . It is priceless! I Know that I say sorry for everything, far too much according to my hubby. I say sorry if something goes wrong, if someone is late, If i get angry or upset, if i accidently bump someone, if i need to get around a person. However Maybe I am just a nice person. Canada	Off Topic Part Cinq	I took two buses last year, A greyhound,a NY greyhound and a mega bus. My hubby didnt want to drive yet again so he told me I had to take a bus lol 16 hour bus drive with two bus changes but it was worth it. I have no complaints about any of the buses. I remember when we first chatted on the phone and I had said something about the noise (my balcony was being redone) and he made me repeat a word like 12 times he laugh so hard and said he loved it. Canada	What to send for ROC evidence	Pictures also aren't great evidence, what they're looking for is financial co-mingling and living at the same address. I'd skip the mailings too. Your financial evidence and leases, bills etc are good, solid evidence. THis is good news. Canada	The Walmart	I find this thread quite amusing as I just had this conversation with my fiance (he's the USC) the last time I visited. But he was the one that said "the".. in fact he said: "Greg wants us to meet him at The Walmart". I laughed my butt off at him. And yeah, it's because there is only 1 Walmart in the town we were in... so they call it "The Walmart".. Oh and yeah, he's from the south (Texas) and definitely redneck country.... My heritage is Scottish and Ukrainian, But Im 1000 Percent Canadian lol I've never used "the" for any store and I Have never heard anyone use it in the way you are describing. I do Use "eh" But not very often in the past few years, Only when I ask a question and no reply is given.... "What do you want for dinner???" Taps foot.. A Minute later "EH???" It is the Mr. Freeze brand that I am addicted to. Other brands fail to satisfy.
