I HAVE A QUESTION IF WE GET THIS ABOVE STATEMENT DOES THIS MEAN ITS APPROVED OR IT IS IN A PROCESS OF APPROVAL AND WE WILL GET ANY MORE EMAIL STATING OUR CASE ,WHY I AM SAYING THAT IS BECOZ IT DOESNOT SHOW A BLUE DOTT STATING THT IS APPROVED OR DECISION APPROVED OR POST DECISION ACTIVITY IS THIS NORMAL,USUALLY IT HAS A BLUE DOT THAT IT HAS BE APPROVED..............  :bonk:
JUST A THAUGHT ,.......

capslock. my ears hurt : (

the USCIS webpage that shows your progress does not seem to be a reliable reflection of the true status of your case. the emails/texts and the letters are the better indicators. next, you likely get the 'card production ordered' when the card is indeed ordered to be produced! in any case, sit tight and you should be all sorted by this time next month (30 days)!

@~happyndinlove~

I thought you are the main July list keeper... You guys don't update the list anymore? Just wondering ;)

eureka (thats how i have decided to pronounce your name) & jim: seems there is no 'housekeeper' for july. <wink> i feel best when you do it because you are efficient and keep everyone in line informationally. i nominate you! anyone to second the motion?

also, july vsc'ers have a while to wait. may and june vsc have NO approvals. so we've got some time before our numbers come up. im enjoying cheering on the csc approvals. come on number four!

edit: happyinlove updated.thanks. my nomination for y&j still stands, with no hard feelings.

ed+cindy,

looks like you've gotten some good advice in the RFE thread. i think what you are adding (joint lease, driver's licenses, etc) will probably sort out the RFE. and i don't think the envelope is as important as the contents of the envelope.

we will keep our fingers crossed for a quick road to an approval for you!

it does remind me that i should not be so confident about our ROC packet. we also have no kids, no property (house, car, anything really), no 401K, no life insurance, not even the same last name..... we sort of just get by on bicycles and small paychecks. while i guess we have a few things going for us (joint lease, joint utility bills, joint bank account, and quite a bit love), my positive thinking is slowly eroding as the weeks pass. the idea of a relatively simple approval is giving way to the stressful possibility of an RFE. in part because i am a bit dense when it comes to finances and while i thought we had been filing jointly for our taxes, we weren't. USCIS will probably find that suspect. i wrote a little note that said 'taxes are not my strong suit, thought we filed jointly, mea culpa, next year, etc'.

but, i suppose that an RFE is not the end of the world. but it sounds upsetting/frustrating/scary. <sigh>

anyways, keep us posted. and best of luck!

xx.

We went to the Orlando center and had no problem completing an early biometric appointment today!

that must feel nice after the frustration of being forgotten. good for you!

i just noticed on my calendar, october 14th marked in red 'green card expires'. so we will be in extension-letter-land after that. i'll have to mark the calendar for the expiry of that. assuming/hoping we will have 10 year green card in hand by then.

thanks, whidbey! that's great. i fixed the error (div0) for the VSC average at the bottom. it was depressing me that VSC wasn't functioning. <sigh>

i'm not too anxious about things now. i'm happy for others who are getting their turns after waiting their waits! i nose aroung the other threads for good news. i'll have to check if there are other spreadsheets for ROC filers before (and after) us July-folk (anyone have any links to point me to?). watching the updates reminds me that progress is happening!

does anyone know if there is an aggregate thread that shows the progress rate for the various monthly filers topics (ie mar11 apr11 may11 etc)? seems like a VJ stats aficionado would have created a spreadsheet to track that. oooh. i'm imagining colorful bar graphs! maybe a pie chart or two!

unimportant update, but i thought i might as well since things will be slower post-wise here in the july filers thread:

husband arrived back safely. very happy to have him back around, mostly so i don't have to do all of the chores!

he did not end up doing an early walk-in bio, but instead just went on the day of the reschedule (24 august). all was fine and very quick according to him.

other than that we are just cleaning up from irene. not a joke even as far north as vermont. think saint albans was not affected much, so shouldn't impact processing.

thanks to the person who pointed out that VSC processes more types of applications. that helps to explain the difference in processing times. which helps me be a little less in a a hurry. but we are just sitting tight for the moment. not even checking for updates on the USCIS site.

until next time!

<exhale>

(back story for those who have not been following the nail-bitingly exciting saga of a very routine reschedule):

i had to reschedule my lovely husband's original biometrics appointment because he is in the UK until the 15th. received 1st bio appt letter on 28 july for an appt on 9 august. sent reschedule request 29 july. and...

i got the 2nd biometrics letter today. woo. happy to report new appointment date is 24 august, just 2 short weeks after the original. very happy with the quick response, also 2 weeks, from USCIS. and we will be able to, if we are in the neighborhood, try an early walk-in. we are not in a terrible hurry, but our ASC is quite sleepy, so why not?

here is a photo of my squinting englishman, letter in hand, from our last visit to the saint albans, vermont ASC. so cooperative, he is.

Posted Image

the guard inside was nice and we talked to him about the fact that he commuted from new york state to come to work each day. he had to take a ferry to get there and back! yikes. i asked why he did it, and he said it was a good job (meaning it paid him better than he could earn in upstate new york. plus he can probably retire at 40.) he was very nice and so was the lady who fingerprinted jamie. i sat in the sunny waiting room and did about 5 clues of a crossword puzzle and then he was done. easy! then we went swimming. : )

so, feeling good. and obviously rambling on a bit with the relief that we can soon check biometrics off the to-do list.

edit: terrible sentence structure!

if you can handle all that, you can do anything! sometimes i am proud of myself for being able to do all of this. (although i have gained weight from the take-out food i consume as i pore over documents and the forums. and probably from the stress of it all! :l )

cheers!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAnd we're back...
hiya peet! can you update your VJ timeline? it still says you are K-1!

it is very likely you will have to re-do fingerprints/biometrics (i think that have to be less than a year old? someone will tell you.)

after you submit your i-751, you will receive a NOA1 (extending your green card validity by one year) and a NOA2 (which tell you when the biometrics appointment is at your local office). it is not something you set-up yourself.

and you add the fees together and send with your i-751 package.

edit: stupid quotes.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMarriage produced child

it's just hard to stop talking about it

just try.

As a citizen of a Christian nation, I argue that having a baby doesn't even prove that SHE had sex. Look at our Lord and savior's mother, Mary. She was a virgin and still gave birth. So I wouldn't jump the gun here.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMarriage produced child
you must be worried about your ROC packet not being strong enough if you are concerned about an RFE and hoping that the baby production will seal the deal evidence-wise in the eyes of USCIS.

seems you are looking for a particular answer and seem unhappy with people's responses. caveat poster.

you submitted your packet the best you could. USCIS will review it and make decisions. if an RFE comes, you will deal with it. this game is about hanging in there.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWill issues with change of address affect us?

Okay, call them even though I received the notice that NVC now has my case and is forwarding it to Kingston??

I feel like it's being shuffled around a lot right now that change of address would only cause problems!

it is possible that it might cause minor problems , but think it's best to keep your info accurate, so that in the future, it's easy to keep your dates straight. easier to remember the truth than juggling dates.

call USCIS to see if they will accept a change of address, and to ask their advice.

that's how i would handle it if it were me.
mr and mrsFemaleUnited Kingdom2011-11-26 20:31:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWill issues with change of address affect us?

Again, wandering around aimlessly here on VJ because I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO about an adress change when we're in the stage we're in...

NOA2 received end of OCt and NVC forwarding case to Kingston.
Address listed on all documents IS a permanent mailing address for myself (it's my parent's address)

As of Nov. 15th I have a new address as far as where I'm residing... Does Kingston Embassy or any location of USA government need to know of new address?

Or do we wait until fiance is here???I don't want to be doing anything wrong in this process but goddamnit I can't find a single thing that shows how or what to do in the case that the address changes in the midst of the whole process

always best to keep USCIS updated with accurate information. and the embassy as well, i would imagine. you may be able to call USCIS and ask for advice on how to proceed.
mr and mrsFemaleUnited Kingdom2011-11-26 18:52:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWill issues with change of address affect us?
to the OP:

you already know this, but it's worth saying again...

the truth is the best bet with USCIS. always.

it's much easier to keep track of the truth!

dont spend your time worrying about it. just fill things in accurately and if it comes up, deal with then. truthfully.

good luck!

if you came here as K1 you can only remove conditions through him unless you can prove that your separation was not your fault.

this is not true. you can remove conditions as long as you can prove that the marriage was entered into in good faith. (aka not for immigration purposes) even if it was your 'fault', as long as it was bona fide marriage, you do not need your USC partner to go through the ROC process. you can file on your own.

gather your evidence (as specified in the i-751 instructions) and submit. many people have successful ROC's after separation/divorce (though you need a divorce decree to finalize the ROC).
