K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease tell what does this Mean
i think the solution here is to only give the OP advice that she thinks is right. so all of you trying to give her your informed opinions... tsk tsk. this site really is full of ne'erdowells.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOverstay while applying for K1

that really made me feel better, thank you so much for the reply. i certainly didn't intend to emigrate, and the proposal was a beautiful surprise. nevertheless i think we'll stick with the K1 application, i'm not worried about eventual approval, we have a solid history together, even if we get any silly RFE's.

hey, we've all had moments of weakness, right! and i guess we've all been through so many goodbyes, we must have one more in us somewhere :) good luck to everyone.

good girl! im proud of you!

youll be FINE. stick around here for support, perspective and geeky immigration trivia.

go ahead and leave on time (even if its really hard/sad). take the time to settle your affairs, spend time with friends and family, and PACK. (yikes!)

the time will pass by soon enough. yes, it will be painful at times, but many of us survived it. you will likely not be able to visit on the VWP with a pending k1, unless you can show enough ties to ensure your return to the UK.

there is also the possibility that if you simply feel like you cannot leave, you can get married and submit AOS (before your 1-94 expires). it doesnt seem to me that you came to the US with the intention of immigrating (sounds like you came for a long visit). you would have to get things together very quickly though. and you would not really be able to go back to the UK until you got advance parole or your green card.

just another option, but i assume you have things you need to do in the next 4 months (roughly how long AOS is taking) in the UK.

go back. keep a stiff upper lip. and you will be back, for good in a few months.

best.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE question
resend original evidence.

and send new evidence, and be sure to mark it as additional evidence.

how do you keep in touch? i had a monthly phone plane for the uk and i included a few bills showing i had been a subscriber to this service during the 2 yrs preceding the i129f. what about skype logs?
what about love notes? postcards? ticket stubs from something you did together (train tickets, amusement park tickets)?

find something if you can. think outside the box!

welcome!

i think you are actually very articulate and have obviously put some effort into educating yourself about your options. props for that!

finding VJ was a very good thing. its a GREAT community for immigration matters. im glad you found us! i dont know that you NEED a lawyer. id spend time here first reading as much as you can and gleaning pertinent information.

you may also want to find a similar forum about immigrating to canada, as that may be in the cards as well.

i wish you lots of good luck. and congratulations on the baby. (or not. yo, im diehard pro-choice.)

xx.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with F129 Interview mistake
we cant give you much information, since you havent provided us with much information.

the more details you can provide, the more help you will get.

and one further comment, this is an example of why it is SO IMPORTANT to be sure that both the petitioner and beneficiary are well informed about the process and the 'details' of the relationship. obviously, this is 10x as important in high fraud countries. you must present a united front!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLawyer claiming I need to file I-130 after marriage... fiance coming on I-129f

you can totally do this yourself and you'll feel really proud of yourself for doing so

yep. the feeling of accomplishment is pretty great. in a process that is sometimes really hard to make sense of (no one at USCIS to speak to, long periods of no information, cryptic status updates, etc), being involved makes you feel as though you have a modicum of control.

edit: why is my font so small? huf.

you sound very on the ball.

you really dont need a lawyer for AOS and beyond if you dont have a complicated case.

ditch the under-informed-but-loveable lawyer and save some cash!!

Because we always had two of them from the beginning... two interviews at the Embassy level and two interviews for AOS. We didn't expect USCIS to just approve us and fire off the 10 year without an interview. No, that would be too easy !

well at least you guys are good at them! knock 'em dead!

Husband made an infopass for this morning because we haven't heard one word regarding the case. He was told there will be an interview at the local office...at some point in time. We kind of figured as much, but at least we know they didn't loose the application.

how come you expected an interview?

Grrr.. I am growing more and more inpatient day after day. I've seen a couple of approvals after mine and it doesn't help me at all.. Waiting is such a pain..

as we know, it never ends up being a 'first come, first served' process. you're 9th in line for april VSC filers by that logic.

edit: 10th, actually.

I doubt there will be more approvals till next year after the holiday season is over. I hope there aren't any major snowstorms that will slow down VSC more next Jan & Feb.

there are 24 perfectly good business days before the new year!

think there have been 8 april VSC approvals since these posts! with 13 working days left in 2011, wonder how many more we might see?

For what it's worth, I just wanted to share my experience in using the I-551 stamp (the endorsement you get in your passport, typically at an INFOPASS appointment, to confirm US residency at foreign and US ports)and expired Green Card with the Extension Letter

very interesting.

i am wondering if this informaiton is going to cause people to agonize over the decision of whether or not to get the i-551 stamp. if the processing time, specifically for VSCers, truly is 7-10 months (just a rough guess! dont freak out!), i feel like the stamp may become a more significant part of the ROC process.

and thanks for racking up all those frequent flier miles for the benefit of VJ!
