IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAre interview dates slowing down?
Well it looks like being longer than 2 months as my case has been at the embassy for over a month and no word from them. I am getting depressed again. Just posting to let people know as i know some people are waiting behind us. I am just starting to wonder if they just wait for me to reach a stage then they make that stage take a lot longer than usual. It is of course just bad luck and yes some people have worse but i am still fed up of it.

Thanks Euro

I just sent them another email reminding them of my new address and saying i was worried that they might not have the right one. Hopefully they will send me an interview soon.

I got a reply to my second email.

An interview date has not yet been scheduled on your behalf. Please be assured that you will be notified in writing as soon as a date has been scheduled for the final visa interview.

Guess i just have to wait.

yeah to be honest i have not even anticipated not getting the visa. I mean i have had crazy thoughts like i mentioned but deep down i think they are just crazy thoughts. Just things to fill my mind. Today i thought about getting another police certificate just to be safe. Not sure what date mine is now.

Mostly i just want to know when my turn to bat is.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAre interview dates slowing down?
Daisy was slightly ahead of us and waiting on an interview. I think she was cr1 but i could be wrong.

I don`t see any comments here from yodrak. Did you mean me or am i being egotistical again?

I am also worried about my address change taking effect. My mail should be forwarded but it might delay me finding out.

My wife says it is now my turn to stress over the visa process. My turn to bat as she puts it. I am worried about everything it is true. Throughout the process i was mr cool calm and collected and now i am just stressing that they will find my politics objectionable or say i am not rich enough. Both these things very unlikely i hope but the fear is still there. I just want a date so i know when to be really excited for.

Euro and Aussiewench have been very helpful to me and my wife through our journey aswell as countless others who i forget right now to my shame but i shall just say good luck to all visa journey folks and a special good luck to all CR1 London folks.

Thanks euro i will keep my fingers crossed as they always have been during this process

Hey There,

My case only was completed today, but I have been wondering the same thing myself lately...

Wish I could help more, but I am not seeing many CR1's on the list...lots of K1's on the "London Embassy" thread... I also wonder how IMBRA will affect things as well when the K1 backlog begins to happen...

Have you tracked the package from the DHL tracking thing-y that Peter posted? Once you find it has gotten there, e-mail them and tell them that you are ready to proceed.

I know how much you miss her, as I miss my dear one as well.

Hope it goes fast as lightening for you !

All The Best,

Rose

thank you too mrsbruce5.

I know London have my case as i have already emailed them to check. They sent me a standard email i think saying i would hear within 6 weeks.

Oh well i guess it is time to attempt to get on with things while we wait and run up phone bills/net hours.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAre interview dates slowing down?
I have been trying to find recent examples of people gettign interviews in London on CR1 so i can judge when they got their case complete so i can work out a rough time when i might be able to expect my interview. I know this is never going to be 100% trustworthy but it would be a nice estimation. to have.

I got back from Georgia yesterday and i really miss my wife and i just want to know what is happening with the visa process you know? I know i am lucky to have seen my wife so recently but it gets harder and harder to be apart.

I just wonder when it is coming. Has it slowed down as it seems to have?

Also should i email them again or is it too soon? I mean our case has been at London for 2 weeks i guess. It got forwarded on the 2nd of May so i guess by the time they got it 2 weeks. I got the standard 6 week email and now i am wondering why they can not give me a date straight away even if it is a date in 2 months time you know?

Also any idea how much time between the date they give you and the date they issue it? Then i can frantically ask for help with getting ready.

I had other questions i am sure but for now can anybody help with any of these?

thanks

hi Guys,

Try calling Department of States to see if there is an inverview scheduled for your case.. You wil get an instant answer unlike Emailing to the Consulates.

By the way, DoS number is 1-202-663-1225

Good Luck,

Thank you for posting this. My wife just called for me from work and apparently our packet 4 or whatever you call it was mailed out today and my interview is set for July 10th. I am so happy.

Maybe i should say "due to family commitments i need an interview NOW". :P

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLondon hold up?
Hi. i wondered if anybody could tell me the longest they had to wait to get an interview from London?

I am also wonderign if anybody got held back at this stage for any reason? Is this likely the case?

My case was forwarded to London on the 2nd of May and it is now June 13th. So they have had it for well over a month. I have emailed the Consular numerous times and the last response i got said i would hear soon. That was weeks ago now. I emailed again at the end of last week but no reply yet.

So i am starting to wonder what has happened if anything. I would like an idea of how long this could be. Is it another 999 days type of open ended affair.

I am so fed up right now.

Any feedback is appreciated.

thanks

Yeah one thing i hate are people who think that their job makes them superior.

I am starting to get nervous about the medical and interview. I know the chances are it will be easy i am just nervous about the whole thing. I hate job interviews and things like that which is why my job sucks.

I am now trying to figure out when i can leave England. Aiming for July sometime. If i book a flight before i hae my visa i guess i should makes sure there is time to get my visa in the mail.

 aw thanks
dont forget to get somthing from the doctor about your vaccinations, mine gave me a little blue booklet, i needed to have tentanus/dip & MMR, i had chicken pox as a kid

The receptionist told me that i don`t have anything though. I was told in another thread i made about titres and so i want to get that done. I dunno what i am doing yet. I want as few chemicals in me as possible but until i find out what shots i can`t avoid i can`t get them and therefore can`t get the record of them.

It would be easier if the interview and medical were the same day and same place and if i could just get what i needed there. Of course easy is boring. ha

Thanks everybody. No actual mail yet but i should get it tomorrow or saturday. I have my police certificate done and i just ordered my long birth certificate. Seems i need to arrange vaccinations once i find out what i need and then i have our marriage certificate and all our stuff we sent. Hopefully that is it.

I hope i can offer help to offers once this is all done with, i try to now when i can. Again thanks for all help so far(although i might not be done askign yet). The names that stick out are Yam Sam, Euro, aussiewench, Yodrak, sanctifyer and probably plenty i forgot. This board made it possible for us to do this. This board helped save us money on an attorney. Thank you all.

I am very happy.

Firstly thank you to YamSam for advising we call the Dept of State. Our interview is set for July 10th at 9.30 a.m.

I am now so happy i am bouncing off the walls.

I am also worried that i have not done this or that and hope i have it all together soon.

Getting my long birth certificate online i think.

My dad said he is coming with me but i think he will be bored if he can`t even wait with me.

Well hopefully this is a love story that can really get going now the overlong first chapter is near an end.

Good luck to all the people still waiting all along the process. Don`t lose heart. I know i did many times. I recently decided our case had been lost or destoryed on purpose or any number of other crazy thoughts. Apparently my interview is the day after the World Cup final so that is my new goal as it were.

Just posting this to let people know and thank people who have helped and of course to give hope to those who are getting down.

I got an email saying that they mailed me on 14th July. It is 17th today and i have not received it yet.

Just wonder if this is just because they deliver via pigeon or from America somewhere or what.

They said they mailed it on the 14th. I emailed them after about 4 or 5 days and have not had a response, not even the standard we will reply one day response.

I am wondering about what I was told on the phone, if perhaps our package (packet 4 not 3!) was to be sent on the 12th since that is when they claimed AP was completed. If this is the case makes since yours is missing and we can't get an answer and no packet either.

Have you been given a date yet over the phone or via email?

O.K. i will thanks. I am just really stressed out and pissed off. It is getting close and i am worried i won`t have my letter or my medical by the 10th and i just spent a few quid to call a woman in Soctland who knows nothing. She was very helpful but she couldn`t help. :-s

Thanks to VJ for your help everybody. W eneed to get the best people from VJ working for the state and then the state will be like a super efficient helpful system, well maybe.

I have an appointment with the community nurse on Monday so i have the day off. I don`t suppose anybody can guide me to the vaccinations i need? I can`t find them anywhere. I know somebody posted them aswell.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshelp with non arrival of packet 4

Whoever told you at the medical that you needed the letter lied to you...

All you need is a case number to go to the medical.... I booked my husband for his even before we sent packet 3 (look at my timeline), they asked me if I had an interview date and I said no, and she said that's not a problem, she then asked me when I wanted the appointment for, so I said when is the nest available date, and she told me, and I could even choose the time!

If I was you, I would call the doctor's again and try to book the appointment.

When did you email the Embassy? Best is to wait for their response, I found that the DISinformation line was just a very expensive JOKE... I have read that they are taking their time in responding, think is their busiest time..

Good luck...

thanks

The person who anmswered the phone in Knightsbridge told me that i could nto book my medicla so i pretty much have to go by what they tell me. The Glasgow call centre was a joke as she didn`t even have a record of my interview date.

I emailed London some time ago now. I have emailed them before so i know they are slack as hell. I just would have expected a response by now. I think i will call the actual Embassy on Monday morning and hope that London number doesn`t divert to an Iraqi call centre or whatever else is next in this messed up system.

Thanks for your advice. I will call the medical centre again on Monday.

Hi...

Call DOS...202.663.1225 Tell them what's happened, and they can contact LND to perhaps get another one sent out.

I wrote you regarding the medical on another post...but, all you need is your case number and they will book it. They did it for my hubby 2 weeks ago, and he had his on Wednesday. We didn't have an interview date when we booked it. All we had was a case #
Call central booking and they'll set it up.

Thanks

I swear the medical centre in Knightsbridge told me that i could not book a medical with them without my letter from the embassy. I am not lying.

Thanks Euro

I called the number. I got through to Glasgow. What? Glasgow? I explained to the very helpful Scottish lady the problem. I didn`t explain well enough though as i think she though i was asking about a tourist via or something. Anyway she then finally found me and said that she had no record of an interview date for me. So i was naturally confused. I explained that i had had both an email from the COnsular and that i had contacted the Department of state on the phone and been told of this. I explained that i could not book my medical because they said i needed the letter. She then said i would need to contact the Embassy. I told the lady that i thought this was the number for the embassy. She told me that it was a call centre in Glasgow that has no dealings with the Embassy. So she told me to email them. I said i had emailed them and had no reply. I am really pissed off with this now.

Anybody have any other ideas? I don`t really want to turn up in July havign not had a medical and with no letter saying hey it`s me. So any ideas? thanks

I need advice on the best thing to do.

I know my interview is July 10th in London but i have not received my packet 4 in the mail. I have emailed the embassy to say i have not got my packet 4 but of course they have not responded to me. I tried to book my medical in the hopes that my packet 4 would be along soon after but they told me i needed my packet 4. So what do i do?

Any ideas f the best thing to do?

I hope it is the classic left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing scenraio. Hopefully at some point this all sorts itself out. I guess all we can do is keep trying and keep emailing until we find the person who makes it all fall into place. I am rooting for you both. Yeah just hang in there. Take my advice thoguh and never call the embassy. I have called all 3 numbers i have found. One was in Glasgow and one was totally automated. The main Embassy number got me a human briefly but she said "well you need immigration then" and transferred me back to the automated bit despite none o fthose automated bits being of any help with my problem.

So yeah i am pretty annoyed right now too. I have my interview date but can`t get my medical. The line is busy. What fun.

If you will soon be in America i would start the process with the address you will have on returning to America. The sooner you get things started the better. If you can wait the first part in England it will reduce the time apart that this process inevitably includes.

Good luck.
