Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCan I remove conditions without my Green Card?
Here is the problem. I got here and I never did get my Green Card. The card got lost in the mail I guess. It was returned to the USCIS the first time that delivery failed and the second time it never got back to them so they charged me for a replacement. I didn`t have a spare $260 so I was unable to replace the card that the post office lost. I had a problem getting a job because of the expired I551 i my passport so I went to an infopass and they were good enough to stamp an extension to my temp stamp which expires in July when my removal window ends.

So do I have to have my Green Card or will my I551 be good enough? You see I don`t have $260 right now.

Help

thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration Lawyer
Firstly i would say that i doubt an immigration lawyer would speed up the process as mailing things to them for them to mail in fact would take longer. So firts i would say ask yourself if you really need a lawyer. I would suggest you look over the guides and see the process and how semi straight forward it is. If you still decide a lawyer is what you need then i believe there is a phone number to find a lawyer in your area but i don`t know where that number is. On this site somewhere i think.

good luck

sounds good to me. I suggest you read the guides and as many questions related to the same visa that you are going for. look at forms ahead of time and just be ready for things before they come up. good luck.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anybody know about tax records that are not generated yet?
o.k.

Well thanks. She meets income requirements if we include the child support but the co sponsor should make that unimportant.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anybody know about tax records that are not generated yet?
No it is a marriage visa but her granny is our co sponsor. her tax records will be for different years to my wife`s tax records. Just wonder if that is a problem.

Also wondering if child support would be listed as an asset. I wouldn`t think it was an asset but i would just include it under income.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anybody know about tax records that are not generated yet?
O.K. thanks. So would it be a problem if my wife sent in tax records for 03, 04 and 05 and our cosponsor submitted 02, 03 and 04? I don`t imagine it would be personally.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anybody know about tax records that are not generated yet?
O.K.

bare with me please. This is a question my wife needs answered as it is stressing her out. We are going with a joint sponsor, her granny. Now her granny is retired so apparently her tax comes later in the year or something so when requesting 2005 from them they say that it is not generated yet. So can she use 2004 or is there some other way around 2005? It seems really messed up if we have to wait until the tax forms are generated if that could be months.

Any help is much appreciated.

thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs a co-sponsor`s birth certificate required?
If so do they need an official copy? I have read over the 864 instructions an di am sure it says you only need the birth certificate of a sponsor for work visas.

help please?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOnline Case Status - Receipt Number not Found
Yeah we were months wondering if our case existed. We called and i think the operator uses the same way of finding out. So if the system is not updated then the operator might be no more help than the online form is. Worth a try though. But no need to worry.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe best way to look at the passing of time int he visa process
Each day or second or week or month or whatever it might be is like hell if you think of it like another day in exile or another day alone. Think of it as a day closer to nirvana. A day nearer your goal. A day closer to happiness.

We will all be there someday. It might not be soon but our day will come.

Good luck to you all.

this is my regular pep talk that i like to give as it boosts my spirit and hopefulyl helps others. You know you are nto alone even if it feels that way. There is not only your lover across the border/ocean/whatever, but there are also many other couples in the same situation.

Yes it sometimes feels like prison and it is wrong for governments to impose such insane cruelty but you will overcome this and be stronger for it. You will be that bit more apreciative of each other. If you really are meant to be together this si the ultimate test.

Think positive all of you and if you ever feel down just rant on here and let off steam.

peace

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhich addresss
Surely you would just put her American address if she has one then? maybe you could ask the embassy or the nvc or just assume she has returned to the states if she has an address to get mail there.

Oh yeah and think yourself luck that you are int he same country too while you are there. Must be nice. But yeah i would go with the USC using their US address but email the embassy or nvc or something and ask them if in doubt.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS230 questions
O.K. so i have a few small questions.

Does anybody know if they are likely to want me to send the police form with the ds230 or just take it to the embassy in London? I ask because we are trying to be ready to mail it out asap. I am sendign the form to my wife ready for when she gets the cover sheet etc. I just wondered if i should hang on to the police certificate or send it off in case?

Also do you think i need to list all my GCSE`s or can i just put GCSE`s under school?

I probably had another question but in most cases i think it is just me worrying too much about how picky they are likely to be.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthose highlighted yellow boxes on the pdf for ds230
I printed out my ds230 to get ahead of the game but i have a problem. I could not for the life of me find where i could select to not print out the yellow boxes. So i sent my DS230 to my wife (the usc) and it has yellow boxes on the form. Do ou see this being a problem? I don`t see why it should be but has anybody else ever done this?

Another problem was the additional sheet for my trips to USA. Should it include certain information or is additional sheet for question 25 ds230 sufficient?

thanks

*stressed out*

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresds230 question 14
My wife checked over my DS230 and is worried about an RFE. So just to set her mind at rest could you confirm that when they ask for maiden/family name they mean her maiden name even though we are married?

You see our DS230 has already been held up as the one i mailed my wife never made it through the mail to her and so i had to redo it which took a while. So we want to get this moving but at the same time we don`t want to be held up again by an rfe.

thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 approved before 1-129F
I imagine whichever one is quickest is best. We decided not to bother with the I129f because i really need to work straight away rather than adjust. The I129 would have got us together sooner in hindsight but the work issue is important in our case. Good luck anyway.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCase complete question of confusion
Hi

We got case complete and i just got a letter from NVC which i assume is our last from them as the case is going to London now.

They sent a letter with a phone number a priority date and a website.

The priority date appears to be when we applied and the website and automated number appear to be jibberish.

My wife and i are not too far behind you so it would be cool if you let the board or us know when you get an interview as we will hopefully be not too far behind. I emailed London but have not yet had a reply.

Well looking at your signature it would seem that the DCF delayed you somewhat. We were delayed by our indecision. Figuring out which visa is going to be quickest can actually delay things more than speed them up. We have not had an interview yet but we just got case complete and hopefully will get an interview in a few months i guess looking at the way things are going. Our I130 etc are in my sig and are not too far from your dates. So maybe that is a clue for you. Just try and get everything ready before you need them.

good luck
