IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen does Police cert and Medial expire?

The police and medical certs need to be issued within 6 months of having your visa interview, which it appears you have already done.

but i still need to send something in before it is approved, so my original question was.. if my police cert expires BEFORE I send in what I need to, will I need to get a new police cert? s the embasssy guy stated to me "you have a year to turn in the info, but things will start to expire"

Many people have told me that the police cert and Medical expirations vary by country, thus why it would be an Ireland question, if it's true.

Can anyone from Ireland confirm this for me? I'm still confused as to whether or not I should get another Police Cert (if it's ok if' it's expire when we enter the USA)?
Thanks.

Thanks, so do they both have to be in date at POE in the USA? Or does it just need to be approved with everything up to date? Because like I stated, looks like our police cert will expire may 21, 2011.

Hi, We just had our interview and we need to turn in our joint sponsors 2010 w2s, then we'll be ready to go! :) but I was wondering, just in case it takes longer than expected to get the w2s, when does the medical and Police cert Expire?
Our Police cert is dated May 21, 2010. Will we need to get another one anyways? or is it ok if it is expired when we enter the US? We will definitly not be in the US by May 21, 2011.
Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about I-864A
Hi, We were denied at our interview because of the I-864A. I just got it from our Sponsor, but she did not fill in 13.A for 13 it asks to (indicate number) for intending immigrant and then again for #15. What number does it mean? is it asking for the case number?

I read the instructions and it says.... "If the sponsor you are promising to make your income available to is sponsoring the the principal intending immigrant (the sponsor should have “Yes” as his or her answer to item number 8 of his or her Form I-864), you should list the intending immigrant on line “a” of Item 13 and then list on lines “b” through “f” any spouse and any and all children that appear on lines 9a through 9e of the sponsor's Form I-864."

I have no idea what this means! Our sponsor is one person, but we are had to fill out the I-864a because her husband is on her tax returns.... so how do I fill in # 13?

Errr this process is ridiculous.

Thank you for all your help.

Will definitely look it up, I was just wondering if anyone has had first hand experience with a Reentry visa. I should probably start a new forum for that.

I also wonder if anyone has head anything more about DCF becoming an obsolete option to file?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJust recived our visa in the mail but........
I just spoke the the American Embassy in Dublin and they seemed as confused as I did, which I think has made me feel even worse. Because I thought they would be able to give me concrete answers

They said to me: That he can leave for up to 12 months, but it is up to the immigration officers to let him back in and if the forfeit the visa. SO that did not give me any definitive answer.

So then I asked them, if we forfeit the CR-1 will we have to reapply and if so how different is the process for IR-1, since we will have been married for over 2 years at that point. She said "Well, you have to go through the SAME process even though you will have been married for two years, it's just for a different visa." And then she said "they might be changing it so that you cannot to DCF and it will take about a year and a half to process again.

SO then she told me about getting a reentry visa for him, which would grant him a year outside of the USA, but she did not know much about it, as I asked her if these 12 months would count towards the initial 2 years and she had no idea. Nor did she know how often they grant Reentry visas, or anything else.

SO Does anyone know about reentry visas?

I really though things would have been clarified after speaking to the embassy, not for confusing! :bonk:

Hello

Just to clarify the following.

We could enter into the USA then leave for 6 months.
After we re enter we will be after our 2 year anniversary. can we then (while in the US) apply for the conditions to be removed or will we have to wait until 90 days preceding the expiration of the permanent residents card ?

Thank you so much!

You are correct about the company. They hire employees from all over the world (legitimately). The headquarters is based in SF.

I was under the impression that to qualify for change of status after the 24 months, he will have to be in the states for at least 18 months of that time, and if he doesn't then he will be denied Change of status after the two years. I'm so confused ;/

We will be married for 2 years January 2012, would it be any different after that? If we are married for two years, could we just apply for the 10 year greencard? Oh I'm so confused :bonk:

I feel like I did when we first started this process so long ago

"Removal of Conditions is what you do after the two years. Doesn't look bad being her only 18 of the 24 months but if the departure is more than six months, it would delay eligibility for citizenship. Not really a big deal for most folks."

So you say it will only delay eligibility (if he is gone for more than 6 months out of the 24), but would it require us to do the process over again, or just slow it down?

So, here is our crazyness... we were just issued our visa, but we both just got jobs with a company based in San Francisco, but it is a remote job, from Ireland (or anywhere else in the world) The job allows us to travel while we work, and we are contemplating our options.... which are many. So these options are bringing up a bunch of questions.

1. If we choose to not use this visa to go to the states within the 6 months, and have to reapply will this look bad to apply for a second time?
- if we reapply, I will be employed and making enough to sponsor him, but even though it's an American based company (and I'm paying taxes) will I be able to sponsor him since I will be living abroad?

2. If he goes into the states right at the 6 months, and then leaves for 6 months (to go work/travel) then comes back to the states for the remaining 18 months, will this look bad for the process?

Also, his issued visa says "Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 Evidencing Permanent Residence for 1 year" What does this mean?

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!

From what I've heard it's always the embassy, Because from NVC it's sent to the embassy and then the embassy emails/send letter regarding the interview date.

Hi Everyone, (I never really got any replies so I thought I would put this up again;)

We are finally leaving for the states on December 27th (he had to be in by December 29th). I was just wondering what he (we) should expect at POE in San Francisco? Will it be like another interview, if so what do they generally ask? Do we need any other documents, besides the envelope which came back to us in the mail that we didn't open?

Also, after we get into California, how long does it take for him to get his SSN? Will we need to fill in any forms, or is it automatic?

Anything else we should know.....?

Thank you all so much for being such amazing support throughout this long and difficult process :)

Hello Visajourniers :)

My husband and I are now in the states and everything is going well (besides the fact that I can't seem to get a job but that's for another forum) But anyways, our permanent address has changed, who do I need to tell and how do I tell them?

Also, he got into the states on December 27,2011 is there anything we should be doing in terms of preparing for his future interview and besides the, social security information and welcome information should we be expecting much mail from them and if so around when in the process do we receive it ?

Thanks!

PhilippinesI super need help

Come on. Stop being so lazy. Most of your questions can be answered with a little work on your part. You have a freakin' long list of questions that are easily answerable. If you want all your answers handed to you, then hire a lawyer.

Put in some work. Put in some effort.

If you don't bother to even do a little work to help yourself, you are naive to expect that others will spoon feed you the answers. Why would people help those who are clearly lazy?

THIS IS A DO-IT-YOURSELF website with help from others. It is not a WE-DO-ALL-THE-WORK FOR YOU WHILE YOU DO NOTHING.

Yes, you do need a lot of information. That means that you need to invest some time to learn what is in your future.

I suggest that you begin by studying the guides here on VJ to know the steps involved and what is required. Also reading in the Philippines regional forum will help you a great deal.

The US embassy Manila website can give you what is involved to get a US passport for your child.

2.I herd they are now going to be sending me a packet, how long will it take to get that and is it coming from manila or california?
3.What all is included in this packet? Id like to know everything.
4.When im sponsering her i wont have enough money so im having my grandfather co sponser, what all will he and i need to do, what will they need from us?
5.My wife dosent have her passport yet, she has everythign ready but she must attend a seminar in manila b4 they will give her one, will this be a problem at the interview?
6.Will her being pregnant be a problem at the interview?
7.I herd they are super picky, how can i make sure she passes that interview without fail?
8.Where will this interview be takign place?
9.What all does she need to bring?
10.If the baby is born just after her interview do i have to start a paetition for it and wait again?
11.If its born b4, are the going to deny her and wonder why they were not told about it?
12.What do i need to do to get my child legally over here to the U.S.?
13.Can she get the babies passport from where she lives in the Philippines or does she have to go all the way back to manila?
14.Does she need to get all kinds of vaccinations b4 she steps foot in america? Are they going to rob me blind with $200 shots and vaccinations?
15.Does the baby need to get that too b4 its allowed to fly?
17.How much do passports cost?

PhilippinesOK NOW THINGS ARE GETTING FASTER

St. Luke's:

http://www.slec.ph/u...l#required-docs

Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy (or if the embassy mails a confirmation letter bring a copy of that), and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)

PREREGISTER at St. Luke's website, it saves time when you arrive. http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/

CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There have been changes regarding CFO so for sure read through their website.

http://www.philembas...w_gcp_flyer.pdf

http://www.cfo.gov.p...onals&catid=140

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.
