They are going deny her at DFA office it is a must/required doc for getting passport along with all the docs you said CFO certificate is one of the required docs. I am 100% sure she will be denied getting her Philippines passport without the CFO certificate, she was already there and they already asked her for the CFO certificate.
it is another pain in the butt but to those applicants that is married to a foreigner they must get the CFO certificate first. once she get her Visa she don't have to do the seminar again to get her sticker since CFO seminar has no expiration :)

Awesome nice input! very knowledgeable, btw i cant spell lol

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE(ORIGINAL) PHOTO ID FOR BOTH OF YOU. WITH A CERTAIN SIZE, AND SHE MIGHT ALSO NEED YOU PASSPORT COPY.

AT WHICH PLACE SHE IS LIVING IN MINDANAO? I AM FROM DAVAO CITY.

Don't worry about things like that. I don't think Australia is considered a "high risk" country (or whatever it's called) RFEs like that I would assume, would be because there was some sort of red flag. Good luck on your journey ;)

I sent in 10 pics, 3 afidavids confirming our marriage, plane ticket recipes of when we traveled together, and the other required documents.... To much can actually be too much. They have lots and lots of paperwork to look at and probably don't want to see more than they really need to. But I understand your concern for being thorough.

Hi, I received an email with the information about our interview April 28th in Dublin, and we are doing the medical exam on Tuesday, but have not received anything in the mail. Should we be expecting anything, or was the email our one and only confirmation for our interview? I just want to be sure we're not missing anything.

thank you ;)

Oh and this is the email I sent them.....

Hello,

My husbands case number is DBL2010623001. His name is JOhn and his interview is April 28th. We just had a few questions about what is needed at the interview, as it wasn't specified on the email we received.
How much will the cost be on the day?
What size envelope do we need to bring?
Do we need to buy stamps, if so how many?

Thank you very much,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresdublim embassy interview questions
So since I already paid it, there is no fee on the day? That's all I want to know. I'm not sure why this has to be so confusing.

I'm not frustrated with you... sorry, I just don't know why they would email me back saying $404 since I already payed it.

and they stated different envelope sizes to the one that the above person stated and amount of stamps...

Why can't they just state all this in the email?!

Um I'm very confused now. I emailed the Embassy in Dublin to confirm what you said and I just got an email back, it read...

"The fee is $404 or the euro equivalent

The envelope measurement is 30cmx35cm (12x14’) with stamps euro 10"

So is the fee actually $404???????

I thought that if there was a fee it was less than $100 and the person above me told me it cost nothing. I'm very very confused.

Hi, I was just wondering....
what size envelope we need for the interview?
Do we need to buy stamps for it, and if so how many and do we need to put them on the envelope?
How much is the interview?
Will they collect any documents (besides the medical) at the interview, or will we get stuff back that we had already turned in?

(and why the H*** do they not have this information in the interview letter!?) errrr

Thank you! ;)

Good luck with the process. If you two really wanted to be together during the process, unless there are commitments in Boston, It is very easy to live in Ireland as a USC. I have been here for over a year and just got my GNIB card renewed for 4 years. It took about 5 minutes at the Garda station. ;) Good luck

Technically you dont need another copy after you have turned them in with the DS230(not I-130?). But if you made copies, you could just bring them along to the interview.

Woops, I meant DS 230, (I just got back from the states and I'm very jet-lagged) Thanks! That's a relief, because it took a long time to get both the Australian and Irish certs.

YAY!!!! We sent our last packet in, and in less than a month we have our interview date in Dublin April 28th!
So, besides the medical exam, what do we need to do to prepare? Also, with the medical exam, how long in advance should we get it done (does it expire)?

WoW! People are here to help, just because you don't like the answers does not mean you need to be rude. This Forum is a privileged not a right. The people were probably trying to say..... It is important that you are there so you should try to find another person to take care of your daughter. and If I read correctly, which I did, Aztec&Taino gave you an answer. One which was also common sense so you could have done that one your own without asking on here...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOur frusterating interview day today in Dublin
Thanks for the replys. we have had no RFEs or any problems up until this and I know it's not a huge deal, but it still sucks when you think everything is fine. The specific problem is, I sent in the joint sponsor form I864 in with all the information, but I did not know that because her and her husband filed their taxes jointly that I would have to have him fill out the I864A and get his birth cert. I was very meticulous through every step and I think considering the little amount of help that the NVC, embassy or anyone else (besides VJ) gives us, we did ok. I was just frustrated that I didn't know it before hand (when it was at NVC) or I would have already had it done.

Thank you all for your help ;)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOur frusterating interview day today in Dublin
We just had our interview at the Dublin embassy. The ONLY two good things I can think of about the day there, was the fact that the security guards were friendly and we met some fellow VJers there! Besides that..... well not so good.
Our interview was supposed to be at 1pm, we were told not to get there to early so we arrived at 12:45. There was a line and we got into the building a little after 1. There were HUNDREDS of people there trying to get J1 visas. We were finally called, around 1:45, to submit our initial documents (envelope, medical) and answer a few questions, by a very rude lady who informed us that we were not going to be approved today because we needed to turn in an I864A for our joint sponsor, and get his birth cert. What I wanted to ask was..... why were we not informed of this two months ago when we got our interview date?!?!?!!! Had we known about this we would have gotten it and brought it with us!

So, I was livid and we were told to go wait again. At this point we had been standing the entire time because the room was so crowded. About 2:30 we were called again and they took half our number which we got when we entered the embassy and then were told to go wait again. Fortunately we had a couple very nice people to talk to and keep us company, but we were all getting very impatient. The room started to filter out and eventually it was 4pm, closing time. The only people left were those with immigrant visas who needed their interview. I went up to the security guard to find out what was going on, since there was no one else around, and he said not to worry, that we will all be interviewed today.
So around 5pm (4 hours later) we were called for our interview (they did it in no particular order). They proceeded to interview us in the room with everyone else, I was shocked by this as I was told we would be interviewed in private rooms, as we are talking about personal things and everyone can hear your conversation!
The interviewer was pretty nice. He swore John in and looked through our file. He asked about the I864A, which the lady spoke to us about earlier and then went to talk to her about it. I could hear him say something like "oh come on, they obviously make well enough to sponsor him, it's just a technicality. But she said she didn't care, that we would have to turn it in ;( So then he asked John when/where we met, how long we were in Australia for, when he proposed, if he had the intention of marrying me before we went back to America, and if we had been living together for most of the time. He was friendly enough, then gave us a paper stating what we had to send in and that once it was in we would have our visa!
So, after a looooonnggggg day, we were sorta approved and I hate the process even more.

You have to wait for your interview letter to get the Medical, as you have to show it to the Doctor. The embassy will assign you a date.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen does Police cert and Medial expire?
Thanks, It's not a matter of me needing it to be valid for another few months... We already had our interview and just need to send in current w2s (which we'll have within the next week or two). Then we will be done. We only got our medical done March 22. Even if it's valid for 6 months, we'll be fine. It was only the police cert that I was really worried about since it will probably expire by the time we send in our w2s.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen does Police cert and Medial expire?
As I stated already, we got our police check May 21, 2010. So it will expire May 21, 2011. This will be BEFORE we get our final approval because we wont have the w2s sent in by then. And I emailed the consulate a week ago and they have not gotten back to me.
I really don't know how my question is cryptic.

"if my police cert expires BEFORE I send in what I need to, will I need to get a new police cert? As the embasssy guy stated to me (at the interview) "you have a year to turn in the info, but things will start to expire"

The police and medical certs need to be issued within 6 months of having your visa interview, which it appears you have already done.

but i still need to send something in before it is approved, so my original question was.. if my police cert expires BEFORE I send in what I need to, will I need to get a new police cert? s the embasssy guy stated to me "you have a year to turn in the info, but things will start to expire"
