PhilippinesWHATS THIS THING FOR???

ECC. is an exit clearance for your baby, your wife`s identification or passport.bring your baby`s nso birth certificate, US passport 2x2 picture and specially the baby at the BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT located in INTRAMUROS MANILA.they will goin to get a finger print of your baby and they will goin to issue an ECC that you will need it at the airport.better do it 1 week before the flight the payment is 550 or 750 pesos..we did this before to our baby boy before we move to alaska. its very easy no problem..takes only 1/2 to 1 hr to get this thing done..have a nice day !

she lives in mindinao, so she cant go to manila to do it one week before. she can only do it 3 days before her flight. Will they give her the certificate the same dayas she goes in? Does she need a appointment for this?

Looks like one day, or next day.

ok i got the number, if she calls, can they mail the ECC to my wife?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-02-24 22:03:00
PhilippinesWHATS THIS THING FOR???

She would need a Filipino passport to show her Filipino citizenship. You said she already has a US passport to show her US citizenship.

To leave the Philippines, she needs either a Filipino passport, or the E.C.C. from the Bureau of Immigration.

By the way, are you aware of having to pay a travel tax for your wife to leave the Philippines as well?

Until someone else comes along that has actually done this, if you don't want to get your daughter a Filipino passport, you need to contact the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines. Here is a directory of their various offices. You may be able to take care of everything as you clear customs, or you may have to do this ahead of time.

http://immigration.g...d=128&Itemid=72

what im just wondering is that when my wife got our baby's CRBA it came with a paper that said:

After issuance of your first US passport or your child's consular report of birth abroad, and at least 2 weeks before departure from the Philippines, please visit or contact the alien registration division of the philippine bureau of immigration. to obtain an emigration clearance certificate, also known as exit permit. this is a requirement by the Philippine government.

im just wondering will they mail this if can get in contact with them?

The cfo stamp is for her. If you get a Filipino passport for your baby, you have to get one for the baby as well. If you don't, you just pay the fee on the way out. Also, be aware, depending how old the baby is, they may try and charge an overstay charge as well.

Im a us citisen, i got married in the philippines and stayed in the philippines for a couple of months and got my wife pregnant after we got married, then i came back to America to start the visa process, 8 months after i left she had our daughter, my daughter is 5 months old. She was born there in the philippines and has been approved for her U.S. passport and CRBA. She has already recieved them and now i am going to pick them up and bring them to America Since my wife already has her cr1 visa now. My wife has a filipino passport with a CR1 visa and a CFO stamp, and my daughter has a us passport with a CRBA. So what will we need to do?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-02-24 18:49:00
PhilippinesWHATS THIS THING FOR???

It means if you do not get a Filipino passport for your child, you will have to pay 710 pesos when you depart the Philipines.

well i think i can manage to pay that, but does my baby need a ECC? My wife already has her Cfo stamp which allows her to leave the philippines

PhilippinesWHATS THIS THING FOR???
Ok, so my baby received her CRBA and her US passport. With the CRBA there is a reminder page that says she must get a Emigration Clearance Certificate(ECC). My wife in child are in Southern Mindanao and i am waiting to bring them to America, this ECC is the only thing holding me back as my wife just got her her CR1 Visa, but i need to get them both here b4 it expires in a few months.

1. Can someone please tell me what this ECC is?

2. How do i go about getting the EEC?

3. Most Importantly, how long does it take to get this ECC?

4. Does she have to go to manila to get the ECC, or will they mail it to her?

Our baby has her Emigration Clearance Certificate already

No, but the baby might have to pay for overstaying his/her visa. How long has it been since the baby was issued his/her US Passport?

since early last month
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-20 15:07:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

Ok, just to make it clear, a terminal fee is P 550.00/ person..So since there are 3 of you ( you, your wife and daughter) then it will be P 1650.00 pesos..And thats for the terminal fee alone...The other fee you have to pay is for your wife's travel tax ( if its not included in the ticket and that being a Filipino citizen and leaving the country) which is P 1620.00 pesos.. SO, I think all in all, you have to pay P 3270.00 pesos, but make sure to have extra pesos just in case . I'd suggest, maybe P 5,000 pesos would be OK!

ok awesome, are you sure there is no other fees? Does our baby have to pay that travel tax?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-20 14:33:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

I know Hank had mentioned about this earlier but make sure you've got enough Pesos to pay for the terminal fee and other fees for your wife ( since she is a Filipino).. .It's a lot easier and faster to pay in cash..550 Pesos ( Terminal/Airport fee) x 3 = 1650 pesos + other fees..I know there are some money exchanger inside the airport but it would be better to be ready all the time...and not going anywhere looking for something! That way, it'll be " Hassle-Free."

Have a safe flight!

Ok so there's a 550 fee, is that for all three of us? Last time i was in the Philippines i didn't have to pay that 1650 fee, do i have to pay it. And my daughter already has her Consular report of birth abroad and her US passport so shes a US citizen, does she have to pay it. My wife is a Filipino with a CR1 visa so i understand she will have to pay it. But what are these other fees you are talking about. How much money should i bring to be safe?

There is only one way to go after your boarding pass. Follow the others or ask if your totally lost in the moment... You show immigration your boarding passes, departure card( will get this at check-in) and your passports with U. S Visa's inside.. That's it.. If they ask for something else, show them... What is "ALL OF THIS PAPERWORK" that you are refering to??

also is there anything i have to bring?

Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-17 21:39:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

You still need to check in with the airline to get your boarding pass. The itinerary will get you through the first security check outside, where they x-ray your bags. Then you go through the doors to the airline counter to check your bags and get your boarding pass. Then if you are on PAL and they haven't changed things since I was there, you go to the left, and find Customs and Immigration.

so after the security check, and check in, and boarding pass, i have to seek out immigration? If so, do i go show them my papers?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-17 20:59:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

Yeah. It's pretty easy. Everybody gets herded the same direction, that ends up at immigration. Once you clear that point, and the next two security checks, have a seat in the waiting area by the departure gate, and wait.

so theres nothing special booth or consular officer for me to go because of all this immigration paperwork??? i just walk in and go the same place everyone else is going, then just pull out all the papers along with my flight itinerary, and they will send me to the security checks?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-17 18:48:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

Don't give PI immigation the brown envelopes... They want to see their passports with U.S Visa's in their passports.. Same with the airline in the PI..

At point of entry just telll the first person you come into contact with, usually directing residents and visitors where to go, what you are doing and they will tell you where to go. No worries, you can't get lost..

im not really worried about when i get into the united states because they speak english and its my own country. but when im in the philippines, what do i do when i walk inside the airport?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-17 15:37:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

If the exit tax is not included in the airfare that will have to be paid for your wife & daughter (if daughter is not USC) at 1620 Php a pop, the counter to pay this fee is at the front of the terminal between the two entrance doors.

And we all know about the 550 Php airport fee.

Quite often there is a big crowd outside the main entrance doors (right side) but most times they are OCW and are entering a different door which is right next to the main entrance, so you need to make your way through that crowd to get at the entrance doors

thank you sir, but who will i show all my imigration papers too for my wife and our daughter? When and were do i present those papers?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-16 17:26:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

Regan, to sum it up, you can go either way. you can get extra copies which you may or may not need. if you don't get extra copies and a sitution arises where one is needed, it can be ordered from the ecensus website. you'll just have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive. no need to sweat over this one.

Does any of you know what to expect when i get to the airport to leave the Philippines with my wife and daughter, where should i go, what should i do? who do i show all my paper work too?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-15 15:36:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

sorry, in the spirited debate over extra copies, guess I lost track.. but if it's your daughter, you're going to have to.............
just kidding, I think your set to go.

yay! lol

Roy..That's a good point...his son might be a U.S. citizen. If that's the case, I'm not sure if he needs to be registered at the CFO.

its actually my daughter lol, my daughter already has her CFO birth certificate, if thats what you mean by registered?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-13 14:10:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

My point exactly...you don't need six originals in order to make a copy!

it seems everytime i turn around there is another piece of paperwork required. I dont wanna miss anything, i want to make sure im completely ready, do i have everything necessary?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-11 16:05:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

I second this, having 4 or 5 extra birth certificates when you get to the US is a good idea. Other than that you should be good to go

are you sure?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-03-09 20:52:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?

One thing I would suggest is to go to NSO and get extra copies of the birth certificates if you have time (4-6), as you will be glad you did once you are here. Extra certified copies of the marriage certificate may be nice also, if you can get that.

As long as you have a return ticket or any ticket leaving the country again you will be fine, if they should happen to ask to see it. I think the airlines will be looking more closely before you depart then the customs agent in the Phils will.

so you think im set?
Regan LMalePhilippines2013-02-28 19:53:00
PhilippinesIt seems like im ready, am i?
Ok everyone,i live in america and my wife and daughter live in the Philippines. Ive been filing all the paperwork to get them here. Finally after many months of paperwork i have everything i think i need so i can go pick them up and bring them back home with me, but every time i turn the corner there's always one more thing.
So can you all tell me if i have everything ready or if im missing anything?

My wife has her:
1. CR1 spousal Visa
2. CFO stamp
3. Our marriage certificate
4. Her Filipino Passport.

My daughter has her:
1. U.S. Passport
2. Consular Report of Birth Abroad Certificate(CRBA)
3. She will soon be getting her Emigration Clearance Certificate(ECC or Exit Permit)
4. Her Filipino birth Certificate

My plan is to buy a one way ticket there for me and a one way ticket back of the three of us, so we can all be on the same flight. Does that seem ok? Is the Filipino airport going to give me any problems when i arrive if i have a one way ticket in then a different one way ticket back for us, because i know in America, customs will not let you enter the country if you only have a one way ticket and not a round trip.

Just to confirm all Inky's previous answers are correct.

My answers in red above.

I love this site! I love you, i love inky, i love my wife, i love God, i love everything! I posted a couple of hours ago after days of research as a last resort, thinking it was a lost cause and when it came time to process the paperwork id be taking the biggest shot in the dark of my life! But within 2 hours, every question i was worried about has beeen answered:) thank you both sooo much!

Will my wife have to wait even after shes had her interview and been approved to come to america, if shes had the child already? I would think they would let a lil baby come with the mom. But i could also see them saying, hold on, you have to wait till the birth abraod form and the babies passport is approved b4 your wife can come to the U.S. with the child. And whats the bio pade of the babies passport going to look like? Are they gonna take a picture of a baby? passports are valid for ten years, what about 9 years from now when i take my kid to see his relatives in the philippines, when he hands baggae check in his passport and the guy opens it up to see a babies photo lol??? Is that really what happens?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need to bring her here!!!
Ok about this:

4. What if she has had the baby by then, will they make my grandpa submit another affidavit of support or have us redo that process if the baby is born b4 the interview?

Your granpa wont be sponsoring a US citizen. They do not need to be sponsored to come to the USA, just need their US passport. - Only you would need to add the child to a new 864 form because it makes your house hold 3 people instead of just you and her.

So i would have to get another i-864 form, and submit another packet along with another joint support packet from my grandpa? I understand that the baby would be a US citizen but im not understanding what the NVC is going to make me do if they find out a baby has been born after the I-864 form is filed......?????......

1. Shes 2 and a half months pregnant right now, what if she has the baby b4 i get the NOA2?

2. what if she has the baby after my NOA2, but b4 i can send my packet, when i include the baby on the I-864 form, arent they going to wonder why i didnt mention this child on the I-130?

3.Ok so my grandpa dosent have to sponsor a U.S. citizen, so your telling me that the baby wont be included on my grandpas joint potition if the baby is born b4 we send the packet off?

4. So basically hes not sponsoring my family, hes sponsoring only my spouse?

5. So hes only showing proof that he can financially support my spouse and his family?

6. So even if i had 100 people in my family that were dependant on me including myself, and my household was 111, as long as i was only petitioning for one person(that being my spose) he would only have to have enough money to support her???

thank you soo much again btw!

Thank you soooooo much, you are a answered prayer:)!!! I have a few more questions if you dont mind:)

1. Im not insulting you, i owe you so much, im just super paranoid and maticulous(i cant spell), how sure are you about your answers?

2.For question 11, http://www.4uth.gov....sa/checklis.htm says i should have a notary of public witness it? IM confused, do i or not?

3.Do i request a blanket waiver? Or will they be like," it seems she is pregnant, we will issue you a blanket waiver".

4. What if she has had the baby by then, will they make my grandpa submit another affidavit of support or have us redo that process if the baby is born b4 the interview?

5.So i can just hae my grandpa fed ex or usps his I-864 packet to me so i can put it with mine?

6.WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME:)!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need to bring her here!!!
Ok everyone i have so many questions i dont know what to do with, please help in anyway you can, i will be forever greatful.

Background: Im 18 and went to the Philippines to marry a girl i met online almost a year earlier. I spent ever dime of my money on tickets, a passport, a wedding ceremony with all the trimmings, and a 2 and a half month stay in the philippines. I got married on january 12th of this year and stayed with her until March 4th when i flew back to America. Since i am only 18 i had to have tons of evidence saying i had parental consent to marry her because its a law in the philippines that you must be at least 25 b4 you can marry without parental consent. I included all that documentaiion in the I-130 packet i sent. i had her sign her G-325a forms while i was there in the philippines and filled mine out when i came back. Before coming back we found out she was pregnant but i did not say anything on the form because it never asked. She will probably give birth by the time this process is completed fully.

PLEASE DO NOT REFER ME TO ANY GOVERNMENT WEBSITES, I VISITED THEM ALL AND THEY ARE NOT HELPING:(
THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO ANSWERS ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS!!!!!

What ive done so far:

I filed the I-130 and the G 325a's that went with it and submited it along with all the required information.

Got NOA1 via email along with reciept notice and case number, it said it was sent to California service center for prosessing. I recieved this email on March 12th.

Now for the onslaught of questions:

1. Will me not putting down that she is currently pregnant pose a problem at a later date?

2. She currently does not have a passport but is about to apply for one, with this pose any problem if she gets her passport b4 the date of her interview or will she need to have a valid passport for some stage of the petitioning process before that time.

3.I live with my mom, dad, and brother, sooo including me and my immigrating wife that would make our household a 5 member household although my mom, dad, and brother do not rely on me for support?

4. If number 3 is correct then i do not make enough to meet the 125% of the povertyline standar for a houslehold of that size, my grandpa said he will be a joint sponsor for me. Does he have to make enough money to support himself, his wife, one of his kids, and my 5 member family?

5. My grandpa who said he would be a joint sponsor lives in texas, i live in michigan, is he still allowed to joint sponsor with me?

6. What forms is my grandpa, as a joint sponsor, required to fill out and submit along with his I-864 form?

7. Does he file his Affidavit support packet stapled to the back of mine after he completes all the information and sends it too me in michigan, or does he file it from texas, were he lives, and just include a not that pertains to my case?

8. Will the baby, if it is born in the philippeans before she can have her interview will it beconsidered another family member, and force me to start the affidavit of support process all over again???

9. When she takes her medical exam before her interview, what must she do if she is still pregnant? What must she do if she has had the kid already?

10. If the child has been born before her interview will they still let her come to america as without any trouble as long as i file a birth abroad form?

11. Does a joint sponsor need to be witnessed by a notary of public that it was indeed them who signed and completed all the forms and documentaion in the I-864 joint support packet?

12. On my grandpas I-864 form, when it asks the number of family members in his household, does he put his household only, his household + my household, or my household?

13. Should i make note of the unborn babies presence in the situation on my Affidavit of support packet? Must i provide proof that i told my joint petitioner(my grandpa) about the baby?

14. What vaccinations are needed to enter the U.S. form the Philippines? If shes pregnant still when she goes to get any vaccinations that she dosent already have, what will they do? Will they make her wait to come to America untill after the babies born and a Birth abroad form is completed?

15. What papers should my spouse prepare if the affidavit of support process is approved, also, what papers should i get ready?
Regan LMalePhilippines2012-03-14 23:48:00
