K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVWP - Proving ties to Australia

It sounds like you have it covered. What you're brining with you shows you have very strong ties to your country. Good luck!

yeah i agree with Chan Chan, just dont say you are visiting your fiancee. When i saw my fiance i didnt mention it cos it does raise red flags. They only asked abt why i am staying 3mths, and i said to spend time with my b/f and then they reminded me that i count marry while i was there and i said yes. There was no hassled

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUS Fiance in Military
Hey Bamcrute!

Its Carolyn here, Good to see you are using the forum. Is your man planning to move to australia after the marine corp? is so, there is no real point applying for any of the K visa and you should start looking at him immigrating to oz. There is no real visa other than the K visa that allows you to work ( well K1 you have to apply once you are here) or you are sponsored by a company. I have a cousin who works for Allianz Sydney and did a "trial" in NY office for 1 week and if they like him they will sponsor for 6mths. some other work places have 3mths work also.

so you are ina bit of a bind cos you can come here tomorrow on the 3mth visa waiver program where you dont have to wait around and be here in a heart beat. but no work. or apply for b1/b2 and wait for visa to be apporved then arrive but no work for the whole time you are in USA! they dont make it easy! I had a trip inbetween where i stayed for 3mths before applied for k1 and it was great cos my boss allowed me that time off and return to work after the 3mths! he also flew to our wedding here in the states!

You will need to discuss with your man, your plans. If you are not intending to immigrate here there is no other visa suited other than NON work ones. which is a pain.

good luck with your decision making gal

I guess my next comment is that it makes me reconsider what I thought were good friendships, especially the people who could not even be bothered to respond when I called and left a message about it or emailed to tell them the good news!

I definately have made everyone aware of how hard this long wait has been (trying hard not to sound too much like a broken record, though...because no one wants daily updates on how much we miss our sweety)...so it would be hard to imagine that they are somehow ignorant to how hard it has been.

Have you guys noticed changes in your relationships with friends and family due to this whole process? Have you found yourself rethinking those relationships?

in regards to seeing friends change and i agree. I found out who my friends are and who really does care! Speshly when i initially moved to USA June 06.. then when i went back home June 07 for 3 mths it was amazing how those friends who forgotten who i was thought everything was the same. I told the friends that are with me to this day thru thick and thin are my best friendship i could ever ask for and that i loved them for it.
