Middle East and North AfricaSCAMMED FOR A GREEN CARD
to the OP...im sorry this happened. And it prolly was a scam, only God himself really knows the intentions of this man.
and dont worry what others have to say, the ones who attack you for posting this, will be the first ones to start a thread about their failed marriages as well....wanting support. it wouldnt be the first time.
I wouldnt however yell for others to watch out, ppl can be offended by that, especially if they do have a good marriage with a MENA man....we all know that it could happen to any of us....its good that you vented tho.

I hope things work out for you ...hugs!

Caybee - I totally remember that episode too! Someone was stationed in Greenland??? They had the proxy wedding in the family's living room.... I feel old.

That's it. Richie married Lori Beth by proxy -- I think the Fonz stood in for Richie. Ack, I didn't even look that up. blink.gif

Well everybody he's talked to in Egypt, even and attorney says proxy marriage is the fastest and best way.

Have you met in person yet? If not, as M4E said, Your petition won't make it past USCIS.

But that meeting in person is for fiancee visa, right? This would be spousal visa.

A proxy marriage would have to be consummated in order to be recognized by immigration law here, which necessitates meeting in person.

unless, of course, he could fedex it to her. whistling.gif

Okay, ew. And then what proof would USCIS get?

The problem here is that the OP wants to hear what she wants to hear. Everyone is telling her the facts, and she brushes them off, and is waiting for someone that has been in her shoes. Then they try to tell her that each case is different, then she brushes them off.

To the OP, stop trying to find shortcuts, it isn't going to work. In fact, if you have done this before then you can count on a longer processing time than a first time petitioner. The people on here are trying to give you good valid advice, but if you insist on doing things the wrong way you are risking a horrible outcome. The USCIS and DOS don't take kindly to people who try to get around the rules.

cant make her do it the right way. if she wants to take the short cuts and risk a denial, who are we to stop her?
i find it difficult to believe this member is as ignorant as she makes herself seem, shes had a profile here for 2 yrs and has already had an approved visa. therefore, i dont think shes as clueless as she seems.

You have to met in person to be married. My biggest suggestion, if you havent even met in person yet, meet in person, then deal with what visa to choose. DCF or K3.
Also, if your profile proves right, and youve been a member for 2 yrs and already had an approved petition, whats with the ignorance? just an wondering.

What do u think i am doing? I told u I asked a simple question. I thought the people here would have some kind of experience an answer, or opinion. If you don't you didn't need to post.

The thing is....you can not expect to get an answer like this, which is faster. Your case is like no one elses on here. and while some may have had fast and easy experiences with one visa type, someone else may have had a horrible one. Your best bet is to just read the guides, become familiar with the different visas. Just like the rest of the members on VJ have done.
I would also rethink your additude with members here, needing help with immigration, and being completely snotty to members who do help, will get you nothing in the end, but a headache and a long process in the dark.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFrustruated
venting is healthy, but after you have a reason to vent. Im on day 80 waiting for my NOA2, and ive given my opinion, but not vented yet, i think ill get to the venting stage when it passes day 100. The thing is, no one is going to get their visas in a matter of 2 weeks. The visa process is not for weak people, if you havent learnt patience, then this is the time to do so. If you cant, then you have a longer and more frustrated waiting time on your hands.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC NOA 2 Dates
I too have been waiting for my NOA2, i got my NOA1 on November 19. When i did a timeline on this site, it gave me a statement of "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as March 20, 2006*. "

I dont know what it means. My husband is getting so cranky because of the wait, he hasnt held his 8 month old son yet, and hes causing me to stress more than i was before. im 29 and have one white hair that i named after him to prove it.
I say we all go to CSC and sit inside til they give us our NOA2's :)
Im just so very glad to be able to go through all of this with other people. Before i discovered this site, i was alone with no one to talk to, or share feelings with on this wild, long, stressful, nail biting adventure.
Hugs to all!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical for K-1

The medical in his foreign country is enough. If he has no proof of vaccinations he has had, then they can do some tests to see which ones are necessary so that he is up to date.

so he should not worry about his shot record and medical records since he was born being tossed away?
I know he has all of his shots, his mom even knows,as long as they can see what he needs without a paper stating hes had this and that, then thats fine.
Will he need a physical? i believe i read somewhere, that the embassy sends you to a private doctor in bucharest, that you pay for, and they give the physical and all of that. Thats fine, we are prepared for that, i was just worried about his Romanian medical records no longer in existance. I still cant believe that after you turn 10 years old they would throw away your life medical records. geez :)

My fiance is in Romania, and when he went today to his family doctor for his medical records they informed him that after 10 years they throw them away!! This almost caused me a heartattack!!!
Does he need THESE? Or just the medical exam they will have him get from a medical doctor in Bucharest? If he needs these from his town, since they are thrown away, what in the world is he to do? Can someone give me a shed of light on this? Im freaking out on my end over this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPregnant while wating for K-1 interview
I spent my pregnancy alone here in the US. Our son is now 8 months old. You can inform them about your pregnancy, but it wont help. Its a first basis kinda thing. Being pregnant will not help your chances. If it did, wed have ALOT of people getting pregnant and then filing for the visa. I didnt even bother to ask them, i filed my petition, and with it i added our sons birth cert. They will see it. If anything, its the best way to prove evidence of meeting your fiance within the past 2 years.
And congrats on the bundle of joy. :star:

Anja,
I do not know, i asked that very question when i was in Romania and was told on both american and romanian sides that if born in Romania, He would be a romanian citizen and he would need a visa to get home to USA. I asked this several times, different people, even in person while pregnant i went to the embassy and asked, and i got the same responce. Its stupid. It was better this way anyway, our medical facilities are much better, and our hospitals are up to date and cleaner. I am happy that i made the decision to have our son here in florida, though it has taken alot of time away from me and my Edi.

Viki/bala i have had the same thoughts as you, and i think everyone here has, its ok to feel that way, we are all in stressful painful situations. It just helps so much to have people to talk to about it all. :)

Tara

Anja,
The baby's father is the Romanian cit and I am the US cit, youd think our son would have automatic US citizenship, i guess not, the visa process would have not taken long, but still, it was easier to go through ONE visa process than two, not to mention, at our sons age, im glad hes not in Romania. The Bird Flu, there was an outbreak of measles that killed many babies in the last months, and so on. Even my fiance is glad I had the baby here, though he misses us tremendously.
Just wanted to add that in there, i forgot :)

MrMrsKnight your sweet, and i guess i try to stay strong. I spent my first 5 months of my pregnancy with my fiance in romania, and was hoping to go through the whole thing with him, but found it safer and best to do it in the US, plus i found out id have to apply for a visa for both my fiance AND the BABY!! insane! i think i used my noodles wisely when i returned here to florida.
Ive been waiting now 93 days for my approval, i hope its soon.
Again it feels so good to have people to talk to. No one i know around me knows how i feel, they have their husbands and fiances with them, and im so tired of the "i understand" when they dont.
I pray for you MrMrsKnight for a speedy approval and arrival of your loved one, the same i pray for EVERYONE on here.

Tina I know how you feel too. Me and my fiance celebrated 5 years together over yahoo msger, and it was nice to be able to talk to him, but so darn depressing that it had to be over msger, and later over the phone.
This forum as well has helped me alot as well. To know there are other people in my situation its like a comfort. I lived a year in Romania with my fiance, and its been a year since I have seen him, and no matter how long I have been back in the states, it just does not get any easier to not have him there next to me in bed, or walking me to work (we didnt have a car in romania),or calling me at work asking me what id like for dinner, or reading to me at night before we sleep (his english is good, but he read aloud to improve his pronunciation which worked great), just the little things. Everyday is lonlier and more depressing, especially when im checking my email and not seeing that approval. My daughter, and mine and my fiances 8 month old son keep me fairly busy, but everytime i look at my son, it destroyes me knowing that he is not here to witness all of the firsts with me. And my daughter who is 10,anxiously awaiting my fiance because she says she loves him and cant wait to call him daddy for the first time. Its amazing that we can feel that enormous feeling of love, but be in such pain at the same time, the visa wait is the biggest pain i think ive ever felt, just because its the longest i have ever been apart from someone i love and adore so much.
I know alot of this was just rambleing, but its nice to get it off my chest, even if no one listened. :)
Tonight is one of those bad nights. I have my good days and bad days. I think nights are worse. You get used to that cuddle time at night, and now its just me,the tv,and whatever i can find on tv to watch. But tonight nothing is even coming near partially filling that emptiness even for a minute.
We just all have to stay strong some how, keep our memories fresh in our minds, and look forward to making new ones real soon. (L)

And ontop of that my fiances mother and step dad keep telling him the visa is NOT coming, basically that ive lied about it bla bla bla, ofcorse he doesnt believe them, but it doesnt make things better.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI ready to just plain go crazy!!!! Need help and advice
I read your post and I almost cried. This is heartbreaking. Im sure everything will go fine. If you didnt do anything then you should be fine. yes I would deffinatly ask the advice of an Immigration Lawyer. Alot of them do probono work, mine did mine free, every year florida lawyers i guess from what i heard have to do 2 cases free, i got lucky, and EVERYTHING i needed to know he told me. I would deffinatly seek the advice, a free consultation is free with most of them, and all your doing is asking a question. If you can not get one to give you an answer, I can ask mine if youd like me to.
Best of luck to you, your in my prayers.

wishful thinking that he will be here by then, not that id be a priority, i feel the need to explain EVERYTHING, because i have notice so many times some people totally misunderstand what someone says and then goes off on them. :) so i try to be "exact" in what im meaning
