Keith has just broken up with me, he cant take the let downs and the being apart anymore. He said goodbye , what do i do now? We are weeks from the interview but have no cosponsor and I didnt make enough to do it so I need to know what I have to do now. I am broken , I am lost and I am all alone. This hurts so bad and I cant take the pain. He is my life and without him I am nothing.

He can't take the letdowns???? What letdowns for him? He's the one who has let you down once before, and now again!

He can't take being apart anymore???? You just left him after putting your US life on hold for 6 months! Being in an international relationship means that there will be time apart. For you two, you haven't had to spend much time apart AND you ARE in the home stretch now!

I'm sorry, but Keith sounds very selfish and very immature. If I were you, I'd cut off all communication with him and see what happens. If it's meant to be, he'll come begging for you to take him back. If not, you are truly better off not having someone who can't be strong when the going gets tough.

You've been in a bad marriage before, and I'm sure you don't want to go down that road again. Be strong for yourself Chelle. You DO deserve better than this.

I wish you peace and strength to get through this diffiuclt time.

there is no such thing as too much evidence. If you feel like putting emails, chats and photos, go for it. i did, and it didnt kill anyone at USCIS.

Yes, its time for the OP to start paying far closer attention to details, study the guides, download the forms and study their instructions and then interpret literally and answer accurately and honestly. This is only a simple process when we do exactly that. It's not one for those who have trouble with details.

asking a newbie to READ THE GUIDES is like trying to lead a horse to water in the middle of the desert

QUOTE (Adrian01 @ Dec 20 2008, 05:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hello! My fiancé & I received the approval notice-I-797, Notice of Action.(NOA2)
On the Notice of Action, it states the above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate.
Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate.
The petitioner can also file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, with this office to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approvalfor visa processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.
THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.
When the person this petition is for enters the U.S. based on this visa, he or she will be admitted for ninety (90) days in order to marry the petitioner, and based on that marriage file for adjustment to permanent resident statuson Form I-485. The form to apply for adjustment can be obtained at any local USCIS office or USCIS forms center.
Please attach a copy of this notice to the adjustment application when you file it.

If the petitioner and the fiance (e) do not marry within these 90 days, status will expire, and he or she will be in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act if he or she does not depart. An extension cannot be granted. It is requested that the petitioner inform his or her local USCIS office if he or she determines that the marriage will not take place within the 90 day period.
Please attach a copy of this notice to any correspondence about this case.

My question is this: Is it possible that USCIS in VT sent the approved petition directly to the Consulate in Bucharest, RO without having to be sent to the National Visa Center first??? We will call the USCIS & the NVC to find out. But has this ever happened to anybody else? Please advise. Thanks!

Nope, it went thru the NVC...mine was at the NVC only 3 days and went to Bucharest.

if you look at your NOA1...the timeframe given is 90-120 days i believe. your congressman prolly wont do much right now as your still in the timeframe. have patience, looks like your right around the corner.
also if you take a look at this site : https://www.visapro....vice-Center.asp
it will help you to see what month they are working on.
i know its hard, but you will have to wait til you hit atleast the 120 day mark before getting your congressman involved. there are ppl inline ahead of you since March, june, july, aug, still waiting, just give it some more time. I know its hard, but you will get thru it.

omg...JUST SEND WHAT THEY ASKED FOR....thats ALL you need to send, if you didnt send the letter of intent and they didnt ask for it, go ahead and send it, or call customer service and ask them, you can also change your mailing address thru customer service.
if you feel the need to send more, it may confuse them....if they said to send xy and z....then ONLY send X Y AND Z

I do not quite understand what appears to be a perception that if a petition is not somehow officially withdrawn, a beneficiary could be flagged by USCIS as a fraudster.

Should the beneficiary ever require a visa in the future, previous petitions will have to be explained regardless of their outcome.

dum??? you asked and you were answered...since this is a public forum, you will recieve answers and advise you may or may not like, that is the risk you take when asking on a public forum, however calling ppl "dum" actually spelt dumb, is a bit immature...and ppl will remember that when you need help again. Hello

I'm from Venezuela and my fiance and I are planning on applying for fiance visa in a couple of weeks. So far I have heard of two friends of mine who have tried to get the fiance visa. They all said it was just a waste of money, that they waited and waited and they never got an answer and they also spent so much money on it. So My Question is: Is it really worth it to apply for a fiance visa? It would be great if anyone from Venezuela who is going/went through the process let me know their point of view of Fiance visa. Thank you so much!

The short answer is yes. What's your alternative?

A lot of people are coming up from South and Central America and crossing the border illegally.

They have anchor babies, hoping they can stay in USA.

A lot of cities in USA are now Sanctuary Cities, and Illegals are given safety in these cities, which is insane to me...

What on earth does your post have to do with the OP's? He's asking about the benefit of applying for a K1 and you are talking about illegals from SA and CA....

The question was "What's your alternatives?

Read the questions and comments before making an off hand remark next time, Thanks.......

Uh, "you're welcome." I did read ALL the comments. Your post still makes no sense in relation to the OP's questions.

Its a post that should be removed as its giving advise on illegally immigrating here

My question is is this timeline changing with the changing date? Like the first one I did was accurate? I am confused. What will it say next May? I am getting discouraged. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

The issue is that the USCIS has been slowing down:

As such the estimated approval date is a bit longer. Hang in there!!

The timeline dates are a guestimate.....your into the 60 day mark you could possibly go into the 120 day mark...go by the timeline USCIS has, that will give you an approximate time
the timeline on VJ goes by updates on other members who applied for K1

go here and check the timeframe

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThanks Vermont. (sarcastic mode on)
It is not that government workers are SLOW, or do this on purpose....they have THOUSANDS of petitions to deal with. The fact that they are understaffed doesnt help. They did not make any of us choose someone who is not in the USA to marry, we did that.
Is the timeline you set for your son correct? bc i dont see it taking them THAT long without sending some kind of information about it. Has your son called USCIS? Has your son gotten intouch with his congressman or senator?? These are things that he can be working on.

QUOTE (gabesmom @ Jan 6 2009, 09:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
That is to bad. I know that being away from your fiance can be hard - in this case, she has the double problem of being away from her family also.

IMO, about your question, I don't think it would make it harder to get a visa later. Is your son in the process of ending the petition? Perhaps if he goes to visit her in London, she will change her mind?

He doesn't know yet. I think he is maybe going to see if he can get leave from work and go over there.
I wish that the governmental "workers" would realize that these are real people waiting and waiting, in some cases way too long, and not just receipt numbers...

Hey Sinergy
When you say it can take 30-60 days... it seems as though many people on this site get approved within days of the USCIS receiving the RFE info. Any insight as to why that is the case?

It depends on your adjudicator and your case and what you had to send in. Not everyone will get NOA2 days within sending it.

I am a little bit of nervous because the information that I sent with the petition it was the same one. The only thing that I did it was to organize the information and translate this time all the stuff that I sent. It is possible that they send me another RFE????? One more question I took a trip to see my fiance but after I have summited the petition. Does this trip count in meeting as well in person within two years? I am asking this because this trip is the only one I was able to save boarding passes. The other ones I did not save and I only bought them with my visa. But apperently it was not enough proof to meeting in person. I also sent pictures but they did not consider those pictures. I resent those pictures again. Do you think it was a good idea???

I appreciate all these response....

Thanks

what was the RFE for?
If you sent them EXACTLY what they asked for, then you are ok, just sit back and wait til you hear something. If you hear nothing in 30 days call

you are on your 5th month, process waiting time is between 90-120 days. Once you have hit that 120 day mark and have heard nothing, call USCIS to see what your status looks like, if nothing, call your congressman or senator, it doesnt hurt to have them take a look at things.
They will send you a paper to fill out and send back, once they have that they will call. By the time they get the form back, you will prolly have your approval.

everyone is distraut over the timeline, but if you want to be together, short of living in their country, its just something you have to deal with.

the process is 90-120 from filing to approval/denial can be more, some have waited 8 months and more...then you go to NVC and that can take time depending on if you end up in AR...then you wait for interview time and from there you could end up in AR or get the visa.
No one can tell you the exact timeline. Its either something worth doing, or its not.
