Hello and happy 2008 to everybody! This year has started more than well for us. The guys at NVC worked really fast and now our case is in Bucharest. Today I spoke with a lady (whom I think didn`t have a very good day because her voice wasn`t very friendly) and she told me that they are going to send me the yellow envelope today yes.gif ! How are all the rest of you doing?

oooo very nice smile.gif good.gif

Hello everybody! We got our Noa2 kicking.gif . I know that the case has to be forwarded to NVC and the rest. I`d like to ask if there`s something I could do meanwhile ... . Or I just simply have to wait for the envelope from the embassy...

congrats!! good.gif

Our NVC was confirmed to be there as of 11-19-07, and is being forwarded to Bucharest, we are wondering how much longer we should have to interview if all goes smoothly. The reason we ask is we want to buy plane tickets now to try to save some $$.

Also will it look bad if we buy a round trip ticket? She wants to go back next novemberish to visit her mom for birthday. Of course that is pending whethere or not she will be able to with AoS etc.

The interview comes around pretty quick. My husband was at his interview within a couple weeks after NVC sent the papers to bucharest. I wouldnt say go ahead and buy your tickets until your fiance has visa in hand. buying in advance is always something we want to do, but remember, no matter what USCIS says, the embassy has the last say in the visa. good luck.

Here's my update. I called the USCIS again today. The lady kinda scolded me for calling again. Everytime I call they say some version of you were just approved on October 31, why are you calling again? Oh well. The lady said that she's been getting lots of phone calls on the I-129Fs today and I told her that it was probably because we are all hoping to be with our fiances by Christmas. I made her check anyways and she said our case was mailed to the NVC this morning. Then she told me not to call the NVC for a couple weeks. I will wait 1 or maybe 1.5 weeks before I call. I guess they're just not very sympathetic to the fact that by the time we get our NOA2 we have already been waiting a very long time. Anyways, it was only 1.5 weeks before they mailed out my notice to the NVC so that's not too bad. They way things are going maybe I still have a chance at being with my love by Christmas!

good news smile.gif once its at the NVC it doesnt take long to get to Bucharest. I believe mine and Edis was mailed out 2-4 days after arriving to NVC to Bucharest.
You are almost there. good.gif

oh yea and packet 3, you can download the forms off of the embassy website as well and have them read and filled out, instead of waiting for it from the embassy, i know its a forever wait for the packet 3 from the embassy in bucharest.

Bun? ziua!
I have an addition to Eresh's question...does anyone know how long it takes to get a Police Certificate? We just got our K-1 petition approved two weeks ago, and I want to make sure we have everything ready for my fiance's interview.

Mul?umesc! rose.gif

You get it from the city you reside in or you can go back to your birth city to retrive it, ed got his the day he went for it. He is from Caransebes, but he had to go to Resita to get it, and he was living in Sinesti. so he was so confused but went for it in the morning and that afternoon had it in his hand smile.gif

welcome to VJ :)

and have a safe trip to ro :)
keep in mind, getting married in romania is NOT cheap, be prepared to pay big since you are american. especially for translations for passport, bc, divorse decree if you have one, AND you have to sign a paper stating you are free to marry in romania, which cost me and edi something like $200 just for that paper. you pay alot of people along the way. lil tip, it doesnt hurt to give gifts to ppl, if you want something done FAST, and not have to wait weeks, a chocolate bar, bag of coffee and a bottle of wine will guarentee shortened wait times. me and edi were told it would be 2 weeks before we could get married, we gave the lady in potcoava a chocolate bar, bag of coffee and a bottle of wine , we were married the next day :)
if you ever wanna talk, my email is hockeygir@gmail.com
congrats on your upcoming marriage :)

K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK3 FAMILY - HANGOUT, week of March 16
This is for all waiting for the NVC to recieve their petition approvals. Its frustrating, but i wouldnt take it to heart if the CRS's are pissy. They have sooooo many ppl calling about their petitions, and if not there, there isnt much they can do about it. In all honesty, when they say "wait 90 days" its not just to get you off the phone. That is the standard wait time they tell you when waiting for petitions to come from the service centers. You could always call the service center and ask if they still have your petition. A thing to remember, all petitions are sent from the service centers to the NVC in bulk on FRIDAYS. So they only do it once a week. This was advised to me when i was waiting for my petition to reach the NVC. Just trying to give a ray of light on the NVC situation.

K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat the heck...?!!
Yes most of the work for the K-1 is during the AOS period of our horrible experience with USCIS. Its not during the approval time.
I did my research before i filed and when i saw that the K3 does take longer than the K1 i went the K1 route. Also being already married to your SO does not guarantee you a quick process.

The irony in this whole thread is that the American women on this site disprove the 'gold digger' angle at the very least...petitioning men who will likely not 'hit the ground running' and land some swish job. The American women on this site obviously also prove that we are family minded...at least in the husband/wife sense. If the American women here were interested in money and things over quality and creating a life with one man....well hell, there'd be hardly any AW here petitioning foreign men.

FYI, I'm in my 30's, I have no kids, I take care of myself financially, am physically fit...I lead a very healthy and active lifestyle which includes eating right and working out 5 days a week. I would love to settle down with a man and start a family of our own. I wouldn't run from a man who makes little money...depending on the circs, of course. If he's back in school to better himself or starting out his own biz and has fallen on tough times, I make enough to keep things afloat. Of course, if he's capping out at 18k a year with no hopes of growth because he's lazy/unambitious/uneducated...hell no. But that becomes more about characteristic traits that I find unattractive, and not really to do with money per se.

So don't tell me I'm the only female in America like this, cos that's laughable.

Some of the men here stated things like 'American women expect too much' and in the same breath (or paragraph), list their desires in a partner, some characteristics are in direct contrast to each other. It's never going to happen if you don't 'get real'....you want a woman who basically doesn't have an opinion of her own....Steve, you want a woman who doesn't' care about money at all, yet you're unattracted to strong assertive women. How can a woman not be strong if she is to be a partner to a man who is not financially strong? I infer that you just want a woman who will be happy with what you give her, and nothing more. You don't want an equal partner, you want a woman who will run and hide when the dishwasher blows up. There's this saying 'give a starving man a stale Saltine and he'll think it's the best Ritz he's ever eaten.' Are you a stale Saltine, Steve? Is that why you're afraid of expectations?

I'm personally not offended by your views, because they shout to me a very sad picture...you must have been hellaciously hurt in the past, and for that, I pity you. I hope in this period you find yourself single, you do some soul searching and perhaps some therapy which gets to the bottom of why you are so scared to be with someone who has expectations of you. Sounds to me like you've disappointed some people in your life, and it has really affected you greatly. But don't kid yourself....we all have expectations...some are realistic, some are not. Yours seem a little 'set up for failure' if you ask me, and until you get to to bottom of things, you may very well find yourself on your 6th or 7th visa and still in the same boat you're in now.

'Its not me, it's them'

Best of luck to you!

best post in all of the thread good.gif

thats why they are a high fraud country...for their honesty?

Just read this USCIS link where the US govt did a study.

http://www.uscis.gov...t_AppendixA.pdf

Apparently, after 10 years of follow up, they found that Asian /Western marriages, 80% are still married, (compared to only 50% of Western/Western marriages) and the age gaps are large by western standards, the girl often being 10-20 years younger. And when interviewed, economic improvement was not the motivating factor for marying Western men. It says so in the US govt study. Asian ladies dont easily divorce. WIth or without $$, they are happy with a loving husband. Its a fact that in America, finances are the #1 cause of divorce. Ask any mariage counselor! And its not the man leaving the woman because she doesnt make enough. !!!!!Think about it.

Many find it hard to believe, but while NOT ALL Western woman are $$$ sensitive, it is what causes many ladies to divorce or leave their man in teh US. Sorry if thats hard to accept. I dont need that kind of stress in my life. I want a woman who will stay with me regardless of what $$ I make. This is one of MANY reasons why I seek a foreign , if not filipina wife.

Sorry this has gotten so far off topic.

Maybe it has nothing to do with your money wink.gif

Oh, as a recovering anorexic, I totally understand the shortcomings of BMI. But still. I thought it was hilarious that he's conventionally considered overweight, yet he's complaining about American women who are overweight. Hypocrisy, much?

6'3" and 215 is not "conventionally considered overweight". It is healthy for a man to have this shape. I am 5'9" and 205, carry it all above the waist because i used to lift a lot, and am still muscle bound. You might call me "overweight", but I would then in turn challenge you and your 3 best friends to an arm-wrestling match, simultaneously.

Seriously, a 5'2" 150 pound woman is a lot more overweight than a 6'3" 215 pound man.

My wife is 5'1" and 105. Her figure is part of the attraction that resulted in our marriage. Whether you like it or not, men are attracted to women that are not overweight.

im super glad you CANT speak for any men other than yourself wacko.gif
