You know if there are so many petitions for the Philippines why dont they hire more help. I think most other countries are not this long to process. It seem a little discriminitory that we that have a sweety in the Philippines that we have to wait the longest. I need to be patient, but to be told that my petition is lost is a little disturbing. On top of listening to the Cocky people at the other end of the phone call. They act like they are in control of your situation and you have no say about anything. The federal government says jump and then we have to say how HIGH!!! We vote for these people in office that make this system what it is. I paid 170.00 for a petition fee. Hell charge me twice that. My girl is worth that and get some help in this system. It used to take only 5-7 months or less to get a K-1.

Well today I am not happy and I will get something done about it.

Thanks for your help you all I am just a little PO'D today.

sorry to hear about your situation...
did you make copies of the total package you sent?
hope u did would save you alot of time over again

good luck
kath

I sure did Kath thanks for your concern.... :)

Dave

it happened to us too. we filed our petetion in Texaas Service Center but it was forwared to California, we got approved March 23, 2005...it was already May 2005 but our petetion wasnt forwarded in NVC. so what i did, i contacted my congressman and it worked! after a week, i got an email that our petetion was already forwarded in NVC!!!

hope ya'll papers will be done real soon.

Thanks for your reply...I really appreciate it....Dave

Thats another funny thing. I live in Seattle Wa and I was instructed to send my I-129F to Nebraska, so I did. Then the petition went to California??

Ok the length of the wait for your petition to be approved or sent to NVC has nothing to do with what country your fiance comes from. There is no discrimination in even a small way. We all wait our length of time. My husband is from Romania, it took almost 7 months for us to get approved and visa in hand, Romania is small, im sure there are more from your fiances country filing for a k1 then there are from romania, but that didnt speed up our process.
i understand you are upset, but dont call discrimination over something that isnt.no country is any more special or any less special than the other. call your congressman is you need help.

hey there, Steph :) Are you all excited ? I know tomorrow Renato will be arriving there.. lots of happiness for you guys

as for our RFE...in my fiance's divorce decree there was a last page that was missing the final judge's signature...so he went to the court house and got it, made a copy and sent it :) Hope it will be approved soon now !

PS. there was just a thing that I thought was weird.. they were asking for the final divorce decree and also on a second line to send any other document translated to English. A guy that talked on the phone with my fiance said that probably they put it there just in case the document he was sending back was in another language , stated that it was kinda a standard letter. So I wonder that anybody that got a RFE had this line on the letter too ? hummmm..

Lisz i had that on my RFE as well and they lady i spoke to on the phone said it is now standard to add it just incase someone has something in a diff language.

United KingdomUK posts being made invisible

Why don't you poll whether people prefer locking or, um, "invisiblizing"? I personally prefer locking so I can see what happened. Flame wars can always be stopped with a lock, but posts disappearing disturbs normal conversation and leads to resentment no matter how accustomed people get to it.

Actually what I have never understood is then need to keep forums conflict-free. Everyone is an adult, but many adults are really immature, and most of us act in a less-than-becoming fashion once in awhile, and there are bound to be flamewars now and again. If they're not allowed to dominate a board, I see no issue. So, I can see the value in locking things, but making posts invisible to AVOID a conflict that hasn't occurred yet fails to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they just might be civil.

I just read the thread, i was away from my desk so long i missed it. HA was out of line, weather her husband left her or not, ppl were there supporting her, no one gave one harsh word to her. However she was doing the flaming that I saw, since yea some posts were put invisible. Becca, Kez and Dev were only being supportive, however HA didnt want their support i guess and lashed out at them. And she did break TOC's, weather we are going thru a hard time or not, TOC's should apply for the person hurting as for the ppl who are supporting.

She was warned and clearly lets say for example if sometime later today she broke the TOS she would get moderated. I personally think a littlle slack was warranted at the time given her situation however from now on since the "warning is out" there is no slack left to give.

It does not appear to. Even the driving manuals on the site come only in English and Spanish.

Im not trying to argue, but in Charles defence, if it is something that pertains to another part of VJ, as is AOS, it will more than likely be moved, as he sd, alot of ppl may be able to benefit from the thread. And not everyone comes to every reginal forum.

I'm going to try to keep my reply neutral, so as not to start the insanity back up again. But in my opinion, an organizer who cannot (and/or will not) tell the difference between a thread meant for a specific community and a thread meant for general consumption should not be an organizer anymore. Kotenochek is not a noob. Anyone who knows her and who knows this community knows that she meant her post to be read by this community. That's why she posted it here. But if you don't know this community, then you don't know that. Which is why I resent these drive-by organizers who quite possibly think they are doing good, but are in fact doing harm. It pisses me off to no end, and it pisses me off even more that when I or anyone else tries to explain this to management, we just get the moderator policy FAQ thrown up in our face as if that's supposed to resolve the issue.

And I don't buy the excuse that others could benefit from her thread in AOS. It was a "I got AOS" post. Nothing more. It would have been buried within the hour that the normal drive-by "congrats" stopped pouring in. And even if it had contained useful information, most people find useful information by using search, and would have found it here anyway. I've found more useful information in MENA and the PI forums than just about anywhere else, even though I never hang out there.

I agree 100% with william33. I don't want heavy-handed moderation, and I think Mags handled things perfectly. I want to see as little moderation as possible. Unless there is an overwhelming need for ANY kind of action needing to be taken, I just want sh*t left alone. But I also think somebody needs to rein in some of the organizers around here. My excuse for bad behavior is that I'm a lowly member--if I get out of line, suspend me. These organizers who run amok with no accountability need to be held to a wee bit higher standard, but I don't see that happening.

Alright, not quite as neutral as I had intended. Sorry.

I see your point Mox smile.gif As i hope you can see mine. As long as ive been on VJ we have always gotten along and i have always respected you. Im just saying, if i see a thread that can be useful in another forum, and i move it, dont jump on me....its the same for all the forums. I never move with intent to be mean, and i hardly move at all, unless i am 100% sure its better in another forum. I also make sure theres a link in the original forum it was started in.

And for you gun-shy mods and organizers that are fueling the fire here - please devote your kind attention to more important matters....like starting the aforementioned pie forum.

Mox and Charles - have sister Sinergy send you some of her favorite trance music when you return from the Barney place. Our job as Moderator is to enforce the VJ TOS. I suggest you read the TOS and decide if we should fully intervene on this micro issue. Our commentary is acceptable, to maintain a semblance of order.
