K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny August filers?

Thanks a lot! this really answered my question, it was useless calling the 1-800 # =) Btw, How do you assemble or label the supporting documents? like photos, copies of boarding pass, letters...etc

thanks! :help:

Well, I was incredibly ####### about the organization of my packet. I bought a plastic folder type thing that had probably 15 folder slots inside. I labeled each slot with the corresponding information that was inside, example: the first slot had cover letter and payment, second one had forms and under that I wrote I-129f, G-325a, G-1145, etc. Then I went to Birth Certificate, Passports, Emails from Michiel to me, emails from me to Michiel, receipts, and I put post it notes on pretty much everything in the packet saying what exactly it was, and what date/dates it was from. I put my pictures in a zip lock bag and wrote on the back of them our first and last names, year it was taken and location of picture. I stapled all papers together that were more then one page, and paperclipped papers together after that if they were corresponding with each other.

I maybe took it a little bit too far.....but, I wanted it to be perfect so that when it was received they could open it and know exactly where everything was located, I want to help eliminate confusion at all costs. :)

You don't need your fiance's birth certificate. I included all pages of my fiance's passport because there were entry/exit stamps verifying that we've met in the last two years. I would just include the passport if there's stamps in it. :)

As far as I know, in my own experience, the US does not quarantine animals. I took both of my dogs to The Netherlands when I lived there, brought them back and forth a few times over 2.5 years and when I moved back it was not a problem. You do need to have documentation of their current rabies vaccination. I would highly advise getting your dog micro-chipped, if not already. I had a letter from my vet in Holland stating that both of my dogs were healthy and able to fly. They actually each had Dutch Dog Passports lol. Really very handy because all of their vaccinations/dewormings, etc. was recorded in them. :) I believe that the only place in the US that quarantines is Hawaii, they're an island.

When filing for the K1 visa do those same numbers go? And are we at 100% instead of the 125%? Thanks!

Oh, and do they go off before or after taxes? Thanks! :)

Okay, my employers are going to be sending me the documents regarding my tax information from the last two years. My newest question, I don't know why I was thinking I didn't meet the Poverty requirements, I had some questions about that if anyone would be so helpful. :)

What I found on uscis is the I-864P. It says the sponsor's household size of 2 (me and my fiance) and the income has to be $14,710. I make roughly $17,280 before taxes. This is for 100% of povery guidelines. Is that what is used for the K1 visa? And is that before or after taxes? This then leads me to ask- would you use a co-sponsor if you were only that much over the guideline? I can list my car as well for personal assets. Is this a better safe then sorry situation and should I just use the co-sponsor anyway? Any advice would be very appreciated.

Thanks!! :D

I paid taxes to the dutch government. I know that I had to pay social security to the US. I never got any paperwork on it though. My employers handled it all. I'm just wondering now if I need to include proof of that?

I am working now, but making $9 an hour unfortunately doesn't cut it for the income requirements, I don't think...

When I was in Holland, I worked as a nanny, I guess I'll have to contact the family I worked for to get the tax information?

Okay, I have some questions...I've been reading all the other threads pertaining to this and my exact questions haven't come up yet, so here goes it...

1.) I have a co-sponsor. They're my best friend's parents. Do they fill the paperwork out together, or should it just be her father completing the information?

2.) Number 2 on the I-134 says I am ___ years old and have resided in the US since _____. My question is- my permenant address has always been here in the states. I did live in The Netherlands from July 08-Dec. 10 so should I put on there that I have been living in the US since December 2010 then? I'm just a little confused by that one.

3.) The next question is in regards to part 7 on the I-134. I don't have a savings account, just checking. So do I put 0 on the first line? Should I open a savings account? When it asks about personal property, I own a car, and personal property, like the stuff in my house. Do I list an amount like 10,000 on that line? Or do they just want to know about the car? I have no stocks and bonds (will this affect me?). I do have life insurance, but I don't know what they mean by cash surrender value.

4.) I saw in another thread somebody included a photocopy of their car title. Is that helpful in any way?

5.) I don't have tax returns for the last three years. When I worked in The Netherlands I had to file through the Dutch system, and I believe I ended up having to pay social security, but my employers paid that on my behalf. I don't have any W-2's from the last three years. Should I include a letter stating this situation?

6.) From what I've gathered I will need three months of bank statements, a letter from my employer, a letter from my bank, and three pay stubs. Does all the same go for my co-sponsor?

Thank you for your time! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIncome tax/out of country
Hi all,

So, situation here is that when I lived in The Netherlands I was a Nanny, my employers told me they were filing the taxes and taking care of everything. They're American citizens so I thought okay cool. Well, with going through this process I had them email me the tax information from 09 and 10. When they sent me the stuff she wrote on there that these are payroll taxes, NOT income tax. That they never filed those. What the heck am I supposed to do now?! I did pay social security to the US both years, which is what I was required to do, and they told me that I didn't owe the US any taxes because I had to pay the Dutch government. I don't know if I should be really, really worried about this? Or what? I've never gotten anything from the IRS about not filing and had no clue about this until yesterday. Is this going to throw a wrench into this K-1 process? Any suggestions/advice would be awesome! Thank you in advance.

I called the customer service number this morning and I spoke with a woman who says they received my case on Friday, the 23rd. I got my Amsterdam case number and she said that right now it is under going more processing or something? She said there is no time frame for this. Is that normal? Do they usually tell people that? She also said that since I listed my email they will let me know when they forward it. I just wanted to be sure all this stuff is in the normal flow of things.

Thank you!
