Doing very well Mrs. Tee in March the baby will be 1 and my older daughter will be 6. Me and hubby are doing very well, we had our rough patch when he first got here. I realized we were in love with each other but didnt really know much about each other and with two children in the picture it was tough. We hung in there and I can honestly say we are just now really enjoying each other the most. Its like we are newlyweds after 1 and a half years of marriage. How are you doing???

Thats great to hear mama... Hubby and I are doing wonderful.. we too went through a rough patch but it was so long ago now who remembers! We just got finished celebrating our one year anniversary on 12/26 and it was wonderful. Im unemployed and back in school tryin to make it do what it do LOL all is well. It's good to hear from you :)

Wait, the baby is 1 now???? Time surely does fly!!!!!

I don't have a specific website that I stick with. What I do is search expedia/hotels/cheaptickets/carribean.com for packages (airfare and hotel included), then I'll go to the hotel's website that I'm interested in and check to see if I would save more if I book the ticket and hotel separate. Sometimes the hotels have a special so once in a while I'll book separate. Don't forget to make tripadvisor.com your best friend
ALWAYS read hotel reviews from there and look at recent pictures that guests posts. It sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't. Where do you plan on going? Negril, Montego Bay or Ocho Rios? Which airport do you travel from?

i do that too sis

Goodmorning yardies, one more day of work and then I'm off until January 3rd. Me and hubby are going to a spa resort for 2 days to relax and think things over and finally give the man some good good because since the procedure 3 weeks ago and the emotional roller coaster, poor thing ain't get none
Sorry if that was too much info but I needed to say it so I can laugh.
Left him snoring like a baby this morning, hopefully he'll be ok until I get home at 2:30, we're going to see the pastor.

Thanks Danna (F)

I know there's a happy place and that I'll get there but only time will tell.

You a hot mess! LOL glad Smiley is recovering nicely! LOL Enjoy your time together away. You could probably use it right about now. Great that you are going to see the Pastor too. You are doing all the right things Krys so prayerfully you can get through this...(F)

Natalie, thanks for liking my comment, or I guess that would've been my status, lol.

Reality finally hit my husband, I've never seen this. man cry before, much less to cry so hard, I could barely get him to calm down. But he's still up watching tons of YouTube videos on fragile x...

Goodnight yardies.

Hey KJ! Just wanted to say bless up. Remember... Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. ~Proverbs 3:5. You are blessed and highly favoured. Regardless of the outcome, trust in the Lord. You're strong, and the three of you will be just fine. Remember your VJ sisters are here if you need someone to talk to.

Good morning VJ family!

I hope that everyone has a GREAT holiday and remember that Christmas is not just on the 25th but its all year round, because we have to give and be forgiving to one another! It doesn't always have to be giving in the material since.. Just like Dan-Dan, Mrs. P and JQ! gave KJ the gifts of sharing their personal experiences with us!!!!! Let's remember to build each other up and not break each other down! (F)(L)

Oh and my university needs to stop playing and post my dayum grades LOL

This story touched my heart in many ways just like Dan Dan's story did and I thank you so much for taking the time out to make a point. However, I'm just scared, scared that I might not be able to handle it, scared that I might break and quit, just scared. As of now I'm confused and haven't got a clue on where to turn or what to do next...

Im going to recommend that you stay in prayer and join a support group. God is the hearer of ALL prayers Krys. Just put your trust in HIM! Talk to your Pastor about all of this :)

KJ let me tell you a quick story, I know these 2 ladies that was in this car on rainy day. In the car also was one of the ladies 2 kids and the other lady baby daddy and she was pregnant. Some how turning a corner the car lost control. There was a bad accident. The man in the car died instantly and the 2 year old boy in the car was knock out and barely breathing. When they were rushed to the hospital the child was in a coma. For the next 3 weeks, the lady had several chances to take her child off life support because the dr said he would have permanent damage from the swelling and be mentally retarded. Alot of her family was telling her it might be best. She still wanted her child and didnt care for the outcomes except for him to be alive. After 2 months he came out the coma, and was just like the dr said. Very challenging but the lady did all she could to research and get the help that was offered from this terrible tragedy.
This happened in 1997, These ladies were 2 of my older sisters. My nephew just turned 16. He is a miracle blessing and is trying to be really independent. He tries real hard but who I commend most is my sister, she has had 2 kids after him and still treats him no different from the other 3, and makes sure dont know one else treat him any different!
I also have a friend that had twins and 4 months later they were in a car accident. One came out without a scratch, but the other was paralyzed from the waist down. Its hard having a child with challenges but the parents have to be strong, That girl is now 21 and very independent. Her mother still has to change and bathe her but other than thsat she do everything for herself in that motorized chair. My friend took that vowel that she will help her daughter for the rest of her life, and so did my sister because thats what you do when you bring a child in this world.

Nothing is guaranteed ///kj and I want you to remember that its all a gamble in God's world and we have to pray abd get through!!!

You were on my mind now and its 3am and I had to comment on this and God sent me to this website http://www.nfxf.org/html/home.shtml
National Fragile X Foundation

Currently there is no definitive, single treatment for Fragile X. However, there are a variety of ways to help minimize the symptoms of the condition. Children with Fragile X who receive appropriate education, behavioral or physical therapy, and medication have the best chance of using their individual capabilities and skills. Even those with significant mental retardation can learn to master many self-help skills.

There is ignorance with lack of education remember that hun and study all you can with this for your and hubby's sake and beat this. The devil so busy trying to discourage us with anything thats not perfect hell we aint perfect. But this little boy just wants to live and see the world and get love and I know for a fact you will spoil him.

OK talked enough this morning back to sleep til I have to get up in 2 hours

Goodmorning yardies! Hope we're having a wonderful start to our week :)

As some of you already know, I found out that I'm a carrier for fragile x and ended up having to test the baby to see if he would be affected or not. Just got the results this morning and unfortunately he is going to be mentally retarded.
As for myself, I'm pretty confident that its not the end of the world but I'm worried about my husband because he's not saying much about how he feels about it. As some of you may know, Jamaicans have a tainted picture on mentality, they don't believe it exists and they describe it with one or two words "fool or mad man/woman"

Have a good day everyone.

Krys, Im there for you... smiley better not make me go there!!!

Good Morning KJenkins86 :) ,
I am SOOO sorry that you are going through this!!! But I have some good news, believe in GOD and all things are possible.... I had a similar experience with my older daughter, the doctors told me that She would be born with Trisomy 8 I am not even sure that I spelled it correctly but I under went sooooo many test and the amnio that the DR's concluded that my child would b mentally challaged and would not live past 3 years of age and that I should consider have an abortion. I KEPT believing GOD and never allowed anyone to speak negatively about my situation. I just prayed and told God I wasnt sure that I could handle the challenge before me but I would follow his will and if that meant my child being mentally challenged I would expect His will and press forward but She was born with NO PROBLEMS beautiful and HEALTHY!!!!

Just Keep the Faith and All Things WILL WORK OUT FOR YOUR GOOD  ! I will be PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

Dan-Dan, I was thinking along the same lines. Im glad you could share your experience with us. God bless you and your family :)

When are you moving to Florida?

Both of those are pretty names.

Oh no time soon Nat, in about 4 years :crying:

nat- sorry to hear of your hubbys grandfather passing
may he Rest In Peace

oooh will you take a pic so i can see you with straight hair?
you think hubby will like it?
my hair is looooong and curly- hubby told me he didnt like my hair when i straightened it
and no, he did not sugar coat it either- "whatchoo do to your hair? no sah, make it curl up again" well excuuuuuuuse me mr. diva! lmao

LOL!

I've been busy and out of the loop, but wanted to share this. Then again maybe this is old news and I'm outta the loop on this too.

A girl that is in the process of going through the K-1 just told me that now the embassy emails packet 3 and then requires that you send all the forms back, as opposed to bringing all the forms on interview day. This makes so much more sense. I think we all were wondering why they didn't do this before. Remember when we had to say our honey's never got packet 3 in the smail mail and could they email it? I guess they heard enough of that to decide to just do that the first time. Anways, I thought this was neat.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas!!!!

Well lookie hear, they are finally moving up into current technology times..

I expected the results of the procedure to come yesterday but I should've known that since the preliminary resuts were late, then the final report would be late too. So I sat by my phone all day today just waiting for the call and the minute I ran to the bathroom I came back to a missed call and a voicemail saying I won't get the results until next week :(

Wa Gwaan Yardies,

I wanted to stop by Big Up my people and show love to the ladies expecting babies soon   !!
My baby is 2 1/2 months and already a HANDFUL. We just got back from JA on Sat and coming back with him on the plane ALONE was more than a notion!!! My mother in Law was visiting with me for 3 months and we flew down together and that was ok but I was on my on coming home!

My husband was SOOO happy to finally get to see and hold the baby, he could hardly put him down even when the baby was asleep. Hubby was all teary eyed as we prepared to leave on Sat morning. We are sooo ready for our interview and to be together. PLEASE keep us in your prayers!

Ok and about this medical, how do I figure what shot hubby needs or is missing? His medical should be coming up soon and I don't need any problems....

Dan Dan, that is so wonderful that hubby enjoyed his time with the baby. I know its hard but just stay positive, this process can get you down. Keep your head up. Youre in our prayers!(F)

What a gwane DanDan,
congrats on your baby. Happy that you were able to visit JA recently. I have not seen my hubby since August so I am singing the blues right now. I am glad that you got to be reunited with your hubby though and that he got to see your baby. That is so exciting. You will be together soon so don't worry about a thing. These days, weeks, months are going to fly by. Regarding your question: there is an immunization list on the nvc website. I just asked my husband to review the list against his immunization records and get the shots that he did not already have. He got some at the health clinic because his sister works there and one at this doctor's office. He got a few at the time of the medical which caused a small fortune. Try to avoid any shots at the medical exam or else it will really increase the cost. I hope this helps. Please let me know how you get on. Us yardies haffi stick together.

So true!

Hey Yardies!!!!
Congratulations on all the baby mothers in here!!!! I hope I wont be joining anytime soon. I finally got my interview letter for January 10.  Hope everything go okay. I little bit excited and nervous. Cant wait to finally make some real progress with mi life.
So to all my Jamaica mothers....I have a thing a bother mi and I need your advice. I have a friend who got married, migrated with her son and now living with husband. The son is twelve years old....start thinking that he is a man and came in at three am. She rass him and he called 911 and told them that she beat him with BB bat. Anyways she want to send him back to Ja but she have a little baby and Social services say if she send him back or he is not there when they make a surprise visit then they going to take both children away form her. Now my question is what do you do in a situation like this? Its not me but I am soo upset because some kids dont know the sacrifice you make for them and then they play a fool of themselves!

I kept trying to post yesterday and it wouldn't let me. I think she should make him stay but try to get him some therapy... I kniow its easier said than done though. Good luck.

JQ, well I hope she comes after Christmas, eventhough she would be s nice Christmas blessing to your family!
I did a little christmas shopping, got the cheap and small stuff that my nieces and nephew wanted outta the way.
My older niece, didn't start with her yet because her list is do costly, Wii games that costs $40-50, ipod, $200 ed hardy boots and what I can't give her, a relaxer. She doesn't like natural hair anymore but every time she gets a relaxed her hair edges fall out really bad...

Anyhow, goodmorning yardies, hope we're all enjoying our wknd!

I have a question/situation.

Friday at my job, all day there wasn't any heat in the building and instead of the director closing the center, she told us to keep our coats on because they're working on the boiler in the basement and the heat should be up any minute now. She kept saying that all day until 2:30 when I left. The heat never came up and no one was working on the boiler in the basement.
I have asthma and bronchitis. Right now I'm so sick its not even funny. My question is, should I go in tomorrow, as sick as I am so she can see for herself or should I call her and tell her she gotta cover my copay for a doctors visit and medication??? Or should I just leave it as it is, pay the $30 copay to see my doc and pay for any meds I get.
My boss is genuinely the cheapest person I've ever met. She cheats us on our pay, open on holidays etc
I haven't been sick like this in months so I know its from not having heat in the building.

I think you should just pay the copay. I understand where you are coming from but is it really worth it?

I believe you boil it first and uh, ah hell I don't know how they make it but I know it has in beet roots, guiness and you boil, blend and sweeten with condensed milk to give it a more pleasant taste and it turned out darn good! Thompson2's and MrsTee's hubby has the recipe and below you can find how to drop it like it's hot, courtesy of JQ

You have me rolling over here!! But you told her just right!!

MRStee,I notice that your husband just received his Green Card. Was your case transfer to California? I filed for Jerome AOS and I haven't heard anything only that it was transfer California. I just looked at your timeline and it looks like it took some time for them to approve your I485.

Yes Carmel it was a nightmare We filed in March, Transferred in April, Interview in November, Green card in Dec. a pure nightmare! Good luck to you guys :)

Hey Ladies,

What a gwaan?
Well for us we got a Request for Inital Evidence-i485 It makes no sense to me they are asking for

Evidence of your lawful admission or parole into the US... Such evidence includes, but is not limited to form i-94 record, or copy of the nonimmigrant visa page of your passport showing admission to the US....

This makes no sense as we included all this info in the packet already...

I guess I should resubmitted the same thing again? Lost

Make a copy of the entire passport book and the front and back of the I-94. If you have receipts and/or boarding passes from JA to your country, submit that too.

Goodmorning yardies, I can't believe the week is going so fast. All the better, I can relax on the weekend.

Tuesday night I was busy stuffing my face with my favorite chinese food (shrimp and brocoli in garlic sauce) and my phone rang, my ob wanted me to come in so I was a bit wooried because I knew the results hadn't come in yet.
Anyhow, I went and it was just to check if the baby is ok and if I'm ok after the procedure. Little did she know that I have my own doppler that I use 3 times a day so if God forbid something did happen, she would've been the last to know but thank God, a week after the procedure and I didn't spot, bleed and worse of all miscarry. She also went on to remind me that now that we know it's a boy, that the chance are higher of the child being affected, so I just said, yes, ok blah blah blah because I wasn't sure if she heard me when I say I want this child even if it's born with a foot on it's head.
Today is thursday and I can't wait for next tuesday to know if the results are going to come back on time so I can know what's going on asap. I can't wait to know, the suspension is killing me :(

Have a great day yardies!

I'm excited and not excited about this christmas, not excited because I wanted to go to Jamaica and I'm excited because this is G's first christmas here. For new years eve I wanted to take him to ny to go see the ball drop BUT it's blistering cold, the crowd is CRAZY at the time and you MUST go by at least 7 to catch a good glimpse of all the action so I don't know. As for gifts, I want to give him a xbox 360 w/ a kinect but I never liked a man who played video games, just seem odd to me, like don't you have anything better to do?? I want an ipad from him but doubt he'll pick up on the daily hibts I've been iving so I guess I'll decide last minute.

Hey DW, what's up, hope all is well!
Smiley will get the perfect job when the time is right!

Thank you, can't wait to see my baby boy, I told hubby I have a new husband now :star:

Lol, little do you know that VK, G and Dens are all drinking the same okra juice, G's just kicked in first so you and Brooke are next, especially since VK is going to JA to get that high grade okra. Oh #######, you and Char had left by the time they were drinking that okra juice, I forgot! Either way, Den has the recipe

Give him you wrapped up in lace

Hey Jus!!
Yes mama, JaPrincess started the trend and JQ spread the wata for all us pregnant mamas!
Sooo happy to hear that your cutie pie is finally coming! I know you will enjoy him :star:

Lol, anything you and G say is ok, but as long as he doesn'y have to see the baby's bith certificate. He told me if I mess around and spell it my way, he'll rip it up so I said ok, I'm not even gonna give him a clue that I can easily get another for $10 :bonk:

Im probably giving him jewlery or something soccer related

I never really thought about it that way Tee. Very inspirational. I like it.

I wish I wrote it, but I thought the mommies to be would appreciate it! :star:

Love this Mrs Tee! So have you decided what you are doing for your Anniversary? I can't believe that all of us are celebrating or soon-to-be celebrating our first year of marriage. :o

Well I know we are celebrating with you guys but Im still thinking
