National Visa Center (Dept of State)September 2009 Interview?
QUOTE (CTRL+ALT+DEL @ Jul 20 2009, 04:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This thread is dedicated to all the people hoping for an interview in September 2009.

My fiance just got her NA02 and case is headed for Mumbai now. According to Mumbai website, August interviews are already scheduled... so i'm hopping that she'll receive her packet3 anyday now and she'll fill it out and send it back and get in line for September 2009 interview.

Crossing my finger.

We are also hoping for a September interview also, possibly even August! Only God knows..... We wish you the best of luck!!! good.gif

I am at 5 weeks and pretty disgusted with the whole waiting system without being able to get any answers. NVC says it normally takes 2-4 weeks but to wait for 90 days before filing an inquiry into the status of your case.

I agree with you but what can we do. Ive been patient through the whole process but if I don't hear anything soon, I will be contacting my congressman. He is pretty good.

Our case was approved by USCIS on June 24. As of today the petitions still have not been received at NVC. The NVC office told me they cannot do anything until it has been 90 days past the USCIS approval. I waited 7 months+ for NOA-2. I have never seen anyone take so long to get the NVC case number. Does anyone know of my options to request information about the status of my case and what is causing the delay?

We received our NOA2 approval July 1st and NVC just received our case!! We had to ask help from the congressman's office.. we were very lucky the girl at the congressman's office was very helpful... we just got our case number today hopefully the consulate will get it next week!!!

You may try contacting the congressman's office...

When did you ask for help? Did you find out why it took longer than usual?

We asked for help wednesday last week.. then the congressman's office asked us to send the privacy form thursday then early today we sent her the copy of the noa2... then this afternoon when we called nvc they told us they just got our case and gave us our new case number...

I didnt ask the congessman's office anymore the reason why it took more than 3 weeks to get to NVC...

Hum... I wonder if it just took that long for them to receive the case... Or your congressman's office was super efficient on this. Congratulations! I wish luck for all of us!

Happy for you guys!

We finally were advised of our NOA 2 Approval on the 8th of June and would be grateful if we could get some idea of the time from approval to NVC issuing a case number. As you are well aware until we receive a case number everything is again in limbo.

I would have thought that by now we should have a case number as it has been over a week since approval. Any input would be welcome.

Many Thanks
Arthur and Roberta

Hi Arthur and Roberta, fortunately I have been having really nice people at NVC answer and for the most part they've been advising me to keep calling for updates and thats just what I do. Ive kept a telephone log on who I speak with, the time I called and what their response is. Our case was approved June 30th and we received our case number on July 15th. Ive beeen calling every 2 to 3 days. Right now its in additional processing. We are just gathering our paperwork for the Embassy to keep us occupied in the meantime. Don't worry one of the hardest parts is over which is the NOA1 to to NOA2. You will get there! Best of luck to you guys!

We had similar situation.. Our case was sent to NVC but we were stuck for next 2 months. We also got 2 letters from nVC about sending our case during next week, but we were in AP. What you can do it's just keep calling them and wait. We called every week. It was hard time.. but now we are together wink.gif After NVC cases use to get to Kiev's Embassy in 2-3 working days. Then time will go so fast.. start getting ready your documents for interview.

Thanks for the information and for the encouragement. We are pretty much ready as far as documents are concerned. I am only afraid that we are ready too soon and that they will consider some of the documents as having been prepared prematurely.

Did you mean to say from NVC to Kiev in 2-3 days? Or maybe you meant weeks? If days, you mean we should be able to schedule our interview in Kiev 2-3 days after our petition leaves NVC? ???? ?? - ???!!!

Our K1 was approved wayyyyyyyyy faster than we expected. We got NOA2 on october 5, and got hardcopy on october 8. They I got the letter yesterday that NVC got it and sending it to consulate. Now I am so worried we will be stuck in AP. I thought AP was for red flags, or if you had the same name as someone with a criminal record, etc etc, but I just realized it is picked randomly! Anyways, does anyone have any idea what the percentages of packets that get stuck in AP every month? I know I should just wait, but this is killing me. I am planning to call on Tuesday to ask if it is in AP...Thanks guys for your support and advice!

They always send out those letters. In our case we got two, dated a few days apart. We were still stuck in AP for nearly 7 weeks. Everyone that gets stuck there reports getting at least one letter saying it has been sent on, when it clearly wasn't.

Ring them Tuesday and find out.

I never got a letter. I just kept bugging the mess outta them lol

I'm sure you'll get your letter within the next week.

We have to just try to have patience. This whole process is stressful. I found myself getting all worked up. I even deleted all my info on here at one point and was fed up. Then my future MIL and I had some confrontation after being friends for an entire yeah without incident. I had to take a break. So, if you are a K1 filer I suggest you focus on your wedding or read up on what comes after the interview so you are prepared when it comes time to file your AOS. K3's just focus on your paperwork too. We can't give the embassy any logical reason not to granted us/loved ones visas. Just wanted to share some thoughts and words of encouragement for everyone! Stay blessed....

Its hard to not think about this process, and not to sound like a witch, there is other life to do out there then NVC. Soon we will move from NVC to embassy, its just speed bump in this immigration nightmare.

No youre not sounding like a witch, just expressing how you feel. Its very hard. I wish everyone the best...

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC

Background checks are primarily done at USCIS. I believe there's also background checks done at NVC.

Mostly though, for IR-1/CR-1 applicants, two packages are sent to NVC for review: AOS (Affidavit of Support) and IV (Immigrant Visa). When these are reviewed and accepted, then the case is forwarded to the embassy/consulate in the beneficiary's country where the interview will take place.

They do it for K-1's too! Minus the AOS, same way, after review the case gets forwarded to the embassy in the beneficiary's country where the interview will take place...Posted Image

QUOTE (conny @ Jul 27 2009, 08:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I consulted with attorney and he said the Administrative Processing is not the same as Additional Processing. NVC doesn't give details on what each process consists of but apparently those cases in Administrative Processing take longer. Also, apparently many cases (percentage-wise) go through additional processing. The only other difference that was notices between them is that Administrative Processing seems to be done on the cases with obvious red flags.

Maybe my "red flag" is a great distance in our ages.

It may not be a name hit. I was told at interview it was random.

Right, so the delay is equally random. Could be short though - it happens.

Had to create another thread on this as this seemed to have lost to me - http://www.visajourn...howtopic=209375

In essence Additional Processing is confused here with Administrative Processing and does not take long at all - and is also done on 100% of cases, so some people just don't know that they hit it and others think they're in AP when the operator tells them they're doing additional processing still.

Actually we are well aware of what they do on 100% of the case and it doesn't take 8 weeks. Usually it is in and out of NVC within a week. Call it what you will, it can get hung up there for 8 weeks or more and I am sure you will have your own choice words for that. The shortest I know of "additional processing" (not routine) taking is about 10 days and that was fairly recently

I understand what you guys are saying, but what I think is funny in regards to my own case, I have fingerprints, criminal background checks, and child abuse clearences, because Im about to become a school teacher. You would think they wouldn't have put me through so much security. I also work with a shipping company so we deal with immigrations and customs on the regular. This AP to me is just another way of saying "we will process your case when we feel like it"

Hindocha, you seem to be pretty confused. If you were already prepared to go through processing at NVC, even though it was in error, you should really consider going for the CR-1. I'm not making money every time I suggest it- I just wish someone had told me all the mistakes I was making along the way.

Yeah, that's good advice right there. I didn't even know about CR-1 when my wife and I started applying, but now we are almost done with the process.

At the very least, call an NVC operator and give them your email addresses. This will speed everything up greatly.

Exactly, i would have done the CR-1 too

I feel like I'm in a Kafka novel, or the book 1984, or some other crazy place where people have subjective power but no oversight, rules and regulations but no obligation to follow them ... I think it would be better if interviews were conducted by panels, not by individuals. At least then if one member was bias, or in a bad mood, or was inappropriate, there would still be two reasonable, just, and fair members to rule that one out. That's why we have juries and the Supreme Court. Oh well. I'm fantasizing about social justice again ....

Thanks everyone for all of your advice. I will take Kathryn and Starlight's advice and take what I want and need and leave the rest. I learned yesterday that there's no reason to fight with eachother. We're all on the same team. It's all the contradictions and confusion and changing rules and subjective nonsensical decisions on behalf of our immigration system that is causing us to be angry with eachother.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresfastest way to get my wife into usa

That's sorta, kinda 'it' .

File the I-130 petition - and when that's approved -
the foreign spouse is allowed to file for a CR-1 visa via the DS-230 form, sent off to NVC.

There's more to NVC processing than just the DS-230, but

if yer fast, you can wrangle all at NVC within 2 months.

Suggest you re-read all links here, then re-factor your plan, today, before shipping anything out to the Chicago Lockbox. Take into especial consideration the one link I showed you, concerning expedite .

Reading is Important™.

When I first started this process, I got me some big mondo greenbar computer paper, and mapped it all out on that, using Green Crayon™. Then I did that about 4 times again, in those first 2 months, refactoring my new-found knowledge into 'the plan'.

Then I made 3 sets of this greenbar paper 'plan' , still utilizing green crayon™.

One is on the wall, one is in my portfolio, one is in 'the files'.

I like this map, really, as I can show it my elder relatives - it's written in terms they understand.

HEY ! Welcome to VJ ! This is a great DIY portal for Immigration to USA, with an emphasis on 'D' and 'Y'.

You really did a map? I so enjoy reading your posts!

Thank you for the information. I am so confused on what to do since I really don't know why they sent it back. Was there a big age difference between you and your spouse?

Your very welcomed. We have a 16 year age difference. Im not really sure what to say about your particular case but maybe your petition expired and that could be a possibility they sent it back, they could suspect marriage fraud, it could be anything.

Some couples are experience this from the Jamaican Embassy and are stuck in limbo as to what is going on, or even what they should do. You're not alone...Im sorry you are going through this.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresafter the interview
I had to chime in from a K-1 perspective and a married perspective and having been through the process perspective. I believe the age difference is not a DECIDING factor, necessarily, but for us TWICE the age difference came up. During NVC and AOS. Do I think it is the reason your petition was returned to USCIS not sure.

I pray that you find a solution to all of this and I wish you and your spouse the very best of luck on this journey!Posted Image

Hey JQ i justed readed your post I agree with MsTee at the end of the day the only thing that matters right now is your health. If you have to do everything by self, that is ok, but do not wash his clothes or cook food for him. If have to open a can of spagetthi and meatballs and give the children that. Do not cook any five course meal and yo tired and he wake up late in the night to come eat Oh hell to the Naw.. trust me right now me and my husband have slightly the same issues I dont cook enough day through out the week., Ammm do you see batteries in my A$% that says duracell. Do not wash his clothes, Do not stop doing for his daughter, just stop doing for him right now. Bright he Bright, but just bust his bubble.

ok on a another note question for the AOS
1 what do we have to do regarding medical

2 do we need to do a police report.

Please give me any tips that I should know about, thanks?

Lol you just tickle me girl but you be on point! Lol.. No you dont need a police report for AOS. Make sure you file all things I-485, I-131 and the I-765 together for 1, 010.00. You can do a check/money order/certified bank check made out to the Department of Homeland Security. You need a certified copy of your marriage license. Go to the guides and see what you need to submit. As for the I-693, you need a copy of his vaccination records. You also need for his DS-3025 (vaccination record) to be transcribed on the i-693. The trick is you have to find a civil surgeon in your area to do the transcription. I think you go on the Department of state website for a list of civil surgeons. Don't use any that make you do the physical over again because he had one before he left JA. You just need for them to fill out the form completely. They may need to give him shots that he hasn't hard. This is where it can become pricey. Whatever he didn't get in JA he may need to get in VI.

If I think of more, I will let you know

Also make sure you do a G-1145 for all three forms so they can notify you when they 'touch' your case. You can find this in the guides too

Just passing through. Hope everyone enjoys there Labor Day weekend. Hurricane Earl maybe hitting Long Island NY & that's where I live so plans are on hold. It's somewhat like carnival time here in NY. Big west indian day parade in Brooklyn on Monday. Lots of parties & festivities this weekend if weather holds up. But that never seems to stop us islanders. Monday my baby boy will be 7 so we will celebrate his day. He already knows he will not have no big party like usual b/c we going to Jamaica for Christmas.
Eric Jew, best of luck with interview.
JQ Smiley, although easy said than done, try to take it easy the best way you can. Afterall, you are pregnant. No one is perfect. I will be the 1st to admit that hubby & I have some heated arguments. & unfortunately I'm a person who will hold my corner for days!! So imagine us in same bed & not talking or touching. Been there done that & I'm sure throughout our marriage it will happen again. Once you all cool down & start to reason you will feel better. I usually do.
But as someone suggested, implement a schedule or daily routine for both of you to follow to ease up your daily load. Take care & continue to stay strong.
Hi MrsTee

Hey Mo its good to see you!

Okay here it is JQ - it's not negative, it's constructive and Im going to be very careful how I word things because you are pregnant and your emotions are running high.

First: I can agree with Finesse but I can agree with mama even more.

What would happen if the doctor told you, you must be on complete bed rest until the end of your pregnancy? Who is going to take care of the house? Who is going to get the kids to school?

Like I said yesterday, you need to straight shut down on his rass. Don't do anything. Cook enough for you and the kids. Tell him you can show him better than you can tell him and that actions speak volumes. It's obvious he is not listening to reason, so now you have to tune him out like he don't exist. Tell him you can't drive him to his friends you're not feeling well. Then slowly get yourself together to take the kids to school and go to work. My fear (and I see it coming) especially since you need to get the shots is that you are going to make yourself sick. Delegate sis, sit everyone down and delegate responsibilities. Tell hubby if he don't cook, he don't eat because your too tired. Make up any old excuse so that you give yourself a break from it all.

Take care of YOU(L)

Interview today for my daughter. I am chewing my finger nails (haven't done that in awhile). Nerves are up the wall right now. I told Eric I will call him around 11 or 12 to find out the results. LORD DO IT.....DO IT FOR ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Thompson-- yes my legs are doing much better. Doc to me to cut out a few of my extra activities. That is going to harder done then said. My schedule is so jam packed. I got two schools for work coming up and a daughter to go and get and I will have to get her ready for school. :help:

Of course I told Eric about what happened and he had the nerve to go off on me. I kinda felt like a kid again. Hold up....wait a minute....let me put some MAMA JEW in it. Had to pump the breaks. But I understood what he was saying. Said yes dear and I love you. And then had to throw in there, that him fussing at me didn't help the situation  (got some game wit me) so he said he was sorry for getting upset and that he didn't want me doing anything around the house until he got back. OOOOOOO YYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Good for you......:star:
