Good evening all!

Thanks Brooke. I still have a cold but its no where near as bad as last week. Thanks for asking! Oh and I wanted to tell you, I was doing some research online to see if my Pennsylvania licensure (teaching) would be accepted in Florida and it does! Woooo hoooooooo. I printed out the steps it would take for me to do it so when the time comes I am ready...

Hey guys, It's been a long time. I actually have a chance to use my laptop. Jerome have been hogging my laptop since he got here. He uses it to let time pass when I am at work but when I get home he is still on it playing solitarie. I see everyone is well and enjoying married life. Well me and Jerome are fine. We plan on moving to our house sometime this month (finally). A special big up to all the August babies, this also my month. I found out this past week that we are expecting a little one ( a big surprise to me. I thought Jerome couldn't make one or vice versa) Jerome is so happy he actually started talking to my stomach I told him that it's not even a baby yet but he doesn't care. I'm little bit excited because this will be Jerome's 1st child for me it's alittle bit different my son will be 13yrs this December. What a big age gap.

That is such good news. Congrats to you guys and its nice to see you! :star: Happy birthday too

Thanks MrsTee & DW for the congrats.
Going through my journey just shows that if one takes the time to read, gather necessary info, & join forums like this, we all can definitely do filing w/o the help of a lawyer. Of course, some may require there assistance but the path I chose was cost effective.

You are right. I have a lawyer right now for the accident and he asked me who I used for immigrations, I said I did it myself. He was suprised.

Hi all!! Its been awhile but all is well over this side. Hubby has been working since beginning of July @ Fedex. Hes a package handler. He basically loads and unloads trucks. He seems to enjoy it. Due to the early morning hours, hes able to get another job. Hubby also got a little car. He got a 96 Honda Accord 2dr in stick shift. So as i said, he as well as me are doing just fine.
On the 26th of July, his AOS was approved. The green card arrived this week past.
So with that said, id like to thank all of you who have guided me along my journey!!! It feels real good to know that immigration is now on pause for the next 2years.
Congrats to all who have recently been approved & those expecting babies. Kindly sprinkle some dust my way!!!!!!!
December 19th we are going to JA. School will be out so its an ideal time as far as my son is concern. We will return on the 29th. Prices were decent & trust me, ive been watching the prices for awhile.
As always, you all take care and i thank all of you again for the constant support!!!!!!!!!

Mo thats great news! I wish you and Cory lots of love, luck and happiness... chat to you soon!

Hey am I on the first page, I hope so!!!

I agree I hope that he understands what it is to be a family because that is very hard. I had to make sure my husband could live with me and my boys for a year before I felt it was totally right for the daughter to come. She has been second to everything with her mom and she needs to know family comes first always.

I cant wait til she comes, got her room half way done, with colorful, princess crowns and butterflies and also education posters ont he wall, talking about time, math, money, and the different months of the year. I strive for excellence in my boys and it will be no different in the education department with her.

Oh yeah Good morning ladies. :innocent:

Who ever you offended can make the old room up if they want!!!! We have been here for some time now and we can start something new. I said you did it, its done and lets go forward.

Well said JQ!!!! Um you need to stop playing with our emotions!!!

MrsTee-- I hope you are feeling better today.

I wasn't part of the original Yardie home and a farrin, but it was up and running for a long time. Change is always a great thing. Most times.

Hello Yardies!!!!!!!

OK, so I have have to get the house ready for Eric's daughter, Tenielia. She soon come and I am nervous as hell. I know we get along great but I am just worried about finances, school, Eric, and the new baby. I have enough on my plate with just Eric and this little one in the oven. I constantly tell Eric to help me with some of the house work, but if I am off, he doesn't do anything. Hell, he can't even put his dirty clothes in the hamper. And now a 5 year old comes into the picture and soon after a newborn. LAWD Help ME

Thank you, Im begining to feel better. Ive been drinking this chinese tea called sinus tea and it seems to be helping alot. I thought I was on my way to the hospital if not

I just wanted to add that I hope I didn't offend anyone by changing the name of the room. Just wanted to do something different...

My husband and i have known each other since we were kids our grandmothers were friends and lived in the same neighborhood, its funny i remember he used to sit in a corner sucking his thumb and just watching me and my brothers and sisters play and i would offer him to join us, now we are all grown up he siad he used to be scared to ask me to play because he thought my brothers would beat him up laughing.gif anyways i moved here and we reunited in August 2005 at my grandmother's funeral (i know right a funeral brought us together again) he could not keep his eyes off me he asked one of my neices to ask me if i would give him my phone number i said yes it was like i married him that day he followed me around the whole time i was in Jamaica and called me 5-6 times a day after i left, after just a month i went back and he asked me to marry him luv.gif i said i would think about it he said he's not going anywhere take all the time i need after a few months i said YES! ( i went back to Jamaica again) yes.gif We have been together since , God blessed us with a beautiful son in December 2006 and we got married in June 2009 and our story continues as our love for each other grows daily (has it ups and downs but it never fades yes.gif )

QUOTE (kcoyclay1 @ Apr 14 2009, 03:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone. I love to tell my story because I believe that my husband and I were really destined to be. It might not be as entertaining as most and I have to give you a little background first so grab the popcorn, here goes:

I came to the US on one of my annual visits in 2004 to see my first-born ( I have two sons); he lived in Florida and I truly wasn't sure when it was that I would see him again. You see, I was diagnosed with cancer in July 2004 and I didn't have a clue as to how to pay for the treatment so I took my two week vaction which I usually take in August to spend with him and celebrate his birthday. My family was all I could think about and how my diagnosis would affect them. We made it into a reunion and my sisters and their children came to Florida and all bundled up in my eldest sister's apartment. Eleven of us in a two bedroom, woyee.

Now the cost of the treatment was $850,000 and I had no money to take care of that so I decided to use that month's salary and pay for the trip. After the visit I returned to Jamaica and when I went to see the doctor she recommended that I return to the US and get into a hospital through the ER and there they will work out a payment plan.

Fast-forward to June 2005. A year passed and I had not received any treatment as I decided to build my immune system first. I had to return to the hospital for blood transfusion and the doctors told me that my prognosis wasn't good; they said that I am going to die because I delayed treatment and the cancer had spread. They told me to get on a flight within the week and as I get off the plane I am to go directly to the hospital and do not even think about going to anyone's home. Being a Christian and seriously hearing from the Lord I held on to everything that he told me and asked for three days grace period when I arrived in the US which he gave mebecause on the third day I had to call 911 because I was seriously ill (too graphic to write) and I was rushed to the hospital. I was admitted and spent thirteen days where I was given ten bags of blood in total and taken for radiation treatment at another hospital. The Oncolgy department at the hospital opened just for me on a Saturday because the doctor was moved with compassion. Doctors gave orders that if I needed them they were to be contacted without hesitation and the staff knew that. When I was released I had to return once a week for chemo and every day to the radiation department of another hospital for radiation.

Now what good can come out of this you might ask and where is the love story but here goes:
One day as I sat in the Oncology waiting room talking to another cancer patient I glanced across the room to see a man locked into a stare at my profile. I heard myself asking why is this man looking at me like that and turned away to continue my conversation but I could see him from the corner of my eye and the man would not take his eyes off me..even when I looked two more times yes.gif . He just sat staring like a cartoon character. I could mentally see his mouth hitting the floor and wondering what is it that this man is seeing in me because I had lost so much weight but funny enough I was feeling quite cute and petite, lol. I was wearing teenager's clothing and was feeling rather hip with my old self, rofl.gif woyee mi belly. Anyway, we didnt say anything to each other but nodded and that was that.

The following week I had my chemo treatment again whcih made me late for radiation and there he was..still staring. This time I started arguing with God about the connection I felt from this man's stare and I didnt find it funny. I was in no mood for a relationship and I wasn't interested and this man was giving me the "gosh you are wonderful" look. I smiled but inside I was cussing (not bad words). The next week as the radiologist called the names of the patients that need to get in their gowns for radiation, she called our names together and she said "Coy, Clay'. Now if you look at my name you will see that I am now Coy-Clay, isn't that cute? Anyway the more I see him the more familiar he looked and he was wearing scrubs so as we sat in the inner waiting area one of the staff came to me and was commenting on how I looked too young to have an 18 yr old son as my son had visited from Florida to spend his birthday with me because I could not be there to spend it with him. Well Clay as I knew his name to be then heard what she said and asked me if I had an 18 yr old to which I responded "an eighteen and an eight. I told him that he looked familiar and the conversation started. I found out that, as destiny would have it, he worked at the hospital that I was admitted AND he worked on the very ward I was admitted on(true true). The only thing is that he was out sick as he too had an operation due to the cancer and was just returning to work. There was a lady that was so good to me when I could not eat the hospital food and she went home and cooked pumpkin soup for me and I wanted to thank her so he gave me the straight-line to reach her. he then asked the people at the hospital what kind of patient I was because you have very gumpy patients and they told him how i would wave to them every day that the EMS came to take me to radiation and when I return I would sing " I'm back guys", they told him that even when I didn't eat and couldn't walk I was still chirpy. This must have turned him on heart.gif yes.gif as he fell in love with sweet lovable me. I need to get over myself right?

Two week later I was told that I was going to receive two operations to complete my radiation and that would be the end of all my treatment. By then we were friends and I gave him my number. He called and invited me out to dinner to celebrate the end of my treatment but I didn't want to go because I really did not know him all that well as yet. He wasn't pushy but insisted sweetly to take me home after I came out from surgery as he had a mini-van. I said okay and sure enough he came after his treatment. The following week I had another surgery and embarrassment upon embarrassment they lost my underwear ( dont laugh). When he came to see me he overheard the nurse telling me that they cannot find my underwear and he volunteered to go and purchase one for me. Luckily I wore a size 5 then and he went and came back with a bingo rofl.gif

Two weeks later I had to return to see the doctor and he invited me to dinner, this time I went with him because in talking I realised that we had so many things in common. That began our dating and we went out for many more dinners and spent almost every day together. As we got to know each other we knew in our hearts that we were meant to be. We were ending each other's sentences from the first date and he was so patient with me when I could hardly walk after chemo and radiation and had to be peeing every 20 minutes wacko.gif .

We got married one year eight months later and this Friday, April 17 will be our second wedding anniversary rose.gif heart.gif kicking.gif . God has really placed us together because one year four months ago the cancer returned and spread in his body. That is the reason we didn't file earlier because I was concentrating on his health. Being through it myself I was the ideal person to understand everything that he was going through and gave him the love and support he needed. The doctor thought he would die in December of last year but I encouraged him and prayed. Now he is doing much better and the doctor is amazed that the cancer has significantly decreased even after they reduced the dosage.

What is fi yuh cannot be un-fi-yuh as the Jamaican saying goes. So hold tight VJer's and love respect and treat your spouse well. Mi gone........

This was a great story. God Bless you guys! heart.gif

So many people have misconceptions about how and why we meet our yardie SO's (think Stella). We were discussing this in the Yardie thread and thought it would be interesting to see the results on how we all came to be with our SO's. Please everyone keep it civil. This is not the thread to make any judgements on the legitimacy on someones relationship, ok?

So what were the circumstances around meeting your SO?

-----------------------------------------------------------------
I was on vacation in Jamaica. My best friend and I met a chef that worked on the resort. He liked my best friend and wanted to hang out at Margaritaville. We didn't the first year but the next year we came back, he was determined to hang out with us. So when we were supposed to meet I got drunk before we even left our room. So the chef saw us the next day and asked what happened. I explained it was my fault. So we agreed to meet that night. So we did and he brought his childhood friend with him. He (the chef)was so excited about seeing my best friend, he neglected to introduce his friend to me. We introduced ourselves to one another. We spent the whole night together. We agreed to keep in touch. That was in June. We talked every other day. When I came back in November we talked and decided to get engaged. I filed the paperwork in February... now we are waiting! I love him soooooooooo much. He is a GREAT man!

Hi there, I believe that if you make above the poverty line, sending in your bank statements is unnecessary. Just make sure you have the last 3 years of tax stuff and you should be fine. The bank account stuff is optional...

Good luck to you...

I also copied my w-2's and 1099 forms as well. I don't want to submit my bank statements because there is really nothing in my account. Is it okay that I don't submit it? I make well over what is required for the poverty level so I think Im safe there. What do you think? Thank you!

Confused...

W-2s and transcripts. Do we need BOTH or just one. We'll send the tax info for the past 3 years but I'm wondering if we need both?
Also what's a 1040? Ling Che's short cut said to send that for the most recent year.

Just hanging out, asking some questions. I'm Canadian so these tax terms are not familiar to me.

Thanks...
LGG

PS Sorry for the threadjacking...

1040 is the U.S. equivalent of the Canadian T1 (ie: your basic tax form you submit each year)

You only need to send either:

- IRS tax transcripts
or
- 1040 plus all supporting documents (like W2's - which the Canadian equivalent is a T4 - for employment income)

When I entered it in the automated system today, the recording says "Case number not found", so I called back and this time put in the USCIS receipt number as it prompted me to do and it says "Receipt number not found" What does this mean? Im not ready to speak to a representative because I just called yesterday and got the case number... Just curious.... Thank you!

HI Mstee,

I filed CR1 and my info was never available via the automated system blink.gif so don't stress no0pb.gif . I always called to speak to a Rep for all info on my case ( and I called often LOL) . Good luck to you Mstee speedy journey!

Thank you ladies for putting my mind at ease!!!!

The NVC's automated IVR does not recognize case numbers for K1 visas. I think the IVR process was set up for CR1s/K3 because the NVC handles most of their paperwork after USCIS instead of the Embassy/Consulate.

I called everyday until I heard my case had been transferred...and the reps just give you a case update.

Thank you and God Bless! I was reading your timeline awhile a go, and Im sooooooooo happy for you! Sept is a good month, thats my birthday month and I plan on having a ceremony next Sept if all goes well for us. We are just going to the Justice of the peace for now and then renew our vows and have a small reception next year! So I wish you well!

You filed a K1. I was told by NVC that they dont put K1's in the phone system because they are there only a short time... You have to speak to a cust. rep for info regarding your K1.

yeah....i sure hope it won't be AP. but i guess you guys got a point.

i'm just basically looking for any loopholes that these guys might find in our stuff....but seeing your reactions makes me feel a bit more positive about things.

and i guess i can't really predict how long the AP thing is going to last?

ah well.

thanks smile.gif

Hopefully USCIS has already done his name and background checks...then, with your case in great order and you guys having much in common, you shouldnt have to worry much god willing.

I noticed that many long AP cases were people who were approved really quickly out of the service centers(i.e- they didnt do much BG/name checks). this is with the true name check ones. Others are in "AP", but its more of the CO doing a final review/decision. Some people actually get home visits and such. I think those are the cases that the CO feels really need additional "digging".
This is all my personal theory and observation only. I theorize that cases approved quickly out of the service centers may need additional security checks after they reach the consul because USCIS didnt do them. There are many cases that simply get the visa right after the interview...so its not like they do name checks on everyone...so thats my theory to explain why some get AP(name check types) and some dont. heh...for what its worth.

That sounds good to me. I was in AP for about 25 days with NVC. The funny part to me is that I work for a shipping co that deals w/immigrations - customs and because Im about to become a school teacher, I have fingerprints, criminal background and child abuse clearances. I think what held us up is our age difference. There are 16 years between us and they are probably looking at that. My fiance is straight laced. No children, no drinking, no smoking, never been arrested, none of that. I was out of the service center in 4 months so I guess AP was bound to happen to us. Thats why I have to make it to our interview because if he tries to do it alone, they may torcher us and show a lot of proof of an ongoing relationship. We are not worried because we have all that.

I wish everyone the best of luck on their journey!

QUOTE (CTRL+ALT+DEL @ Jul 20 2009, 04:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This thread is dedicated to all the people hoping for an interview in September 2009.

My fiance just got her NA02 and case is headed for Mumbai now. According to Mumbai website, August interviews are already scheduled... so i'm hopping that she'll receive her packet3 anyday now and she'll fill it out and send it back and get in line for September 2009 interview.

Crossing my finger.

We are also hoping for a September interview also, possibly even August! Only God knows..... We wish you the best of luck!!! good.gif
