K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsk-1 VISA, went to found out if any changes on our petition
It took us five months for our I-129F to be approved. You just have to be patient. I realize its easier said than done. Usually when things are rushed they turn into #######. Think about all the people who are put into AP for long periods of time or are married and have a hard time missing their loved ones. Just read as much as you can about the next part of the process so that when the time comes, you are already one step ahead of the game. I wish you lots of luck on your journey. Be patient

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK-1 Petion Expiry Date Versus Visa Expiration Date

Hi all,

Our K1 visa was finally approved dated Nov. 24, 2009 but was only released last December 22, 2009.

There's one thing that I want to ask about the visa. While it says the visa expiration date is 22 May 2010, there is a portion below the annotation that says: "K-1 petition expires on March 09, 2010". I am not sure what that date means.

We (my daughter and I) intend to travel to the US on the first week of April 2010 because I still have to finish my work contract and also my daughter has to complete high school in order to get her diploma and other academic certificates. I have to clarify this said expiration date to make sure there won't be any issues to contend with once we are set to go..

Please, can anyone here help clarify this for us?

The March 09 date means you have 90 days on a K1 to get married, if you don't you are out of status and have to return back to your country. For further clarification, you need to read the guides. Not sure why they have May 22nd on the actual visa. I don't think you can travel the first week of April because your K1 will have expired. That is the date I think you need to pay attention to. Not the May date. Other members can probably give you a better answer. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview one month from now

I got an email today stating that our interview is schedule for July 9th. Which shocked me, because the email I received before said it wouldn't be until late July/early August. I feel so excited but am nervous at the same time. Right now we are doing everything express and fiance is in Portmore very close to Spanish town and Kingston to do both the No-impediment to marriage and the police record. The bad news is that he has to set up an appointment to get the appointment letter. Wish us luck on these next 4 weeks.

Wishing you lots of luck :)

Don't panic, its coming. Each service center goes at their own pace. Similar thing happened with us. Just take this time to gather your paperwork for the interview. There is still lots to be done so use your time wisely. Just my opinion. Good luck on your journeyPosted Image Also filling in your timeline will help others to see where you are in the process so they can help you!

Perhaps not directly, but are you aware of your implication? Another life lesson I've taken, is to not worry about things that are outside of your control. And certainly how someone else wants to express themselves, about the process, would be one of those things, no?

Maire...all i'm doing is the civil wedding in city hall and just getting together at a restaurant and that's it. The big wedding will be the religious one and that one will be in Peru in a year or so.
What's everyone doing for their wedding?

is there a separate rooms at the court houses for weddings?

Never seen the court house here in queens...seen the one in manhattan through pictures though...anyways, if you dont want it in a court hour you can have a licensed person to go and marry you wherever you want to get married at for a higher fee i believe, i was gonna do that but then again we said why spend alot of money when the one that really matters is the religious wedding...anyways, i got the ring and dress this weekend...well the rings are coming in sometime this or next week because our sizes were not in stock so when you get your rings and if just in case your sizes are not in stock...make sure you order them 3 weeks ahead of the wedding date.

well im super nervious cus ive never been to a wedding so I have no idea what to do..

need me to tell you as far as i know? i barely been to weddings but i have an idea of how it is...unless someone can tell us more with details how it is.

Ask when you call the Clerk's office...sometimes its different but usually it's at least 2 witnesses.

Well mine is close.. In Delaware County, PA its $60.00 and in Philadelphia, PA its $80.00 so we are close..

Dear Mrs Hamilton...i'm sorry to hear about this. Believe me ....very sorry.

Sorry more to report our denial as well. Several problems.....on the denial letter, they checked the box for 212(a)(1)..health related grounds, nothing more. (!????????????????????????) on another form, a BLUE SLIP.... they ask him to return with police certificate box checked and at the bottom handwritten: I-601, 2 G325a forms, hardship letter "suggested joint sponsor earning 70K+". that request makes me think they thought he was applying for his 2 17year old sons, which he is not doing....they'll be 18 before this is ever completed. SO...we wonder about the medical report, very worried....as he had to have a blood transfusion during the past year....also, the people at the Hope clinic are not cool..don't trust them, don't trust the report they sent, and since they won't provide copies to us...we are now retesting with a private doctor...God be merciful that they have made some grievous errors!! Still waiting on the expunged police record...for what it's worth.

So, i'm with you girl...and thinking of my next trip ASAP , and maybe TO hell with this whole "coming to America' ####### and go live with the love of my life ...cause it's all too short to give it all up to the bureaucrats.

So....here's a tip: Check out my friend D-Major on you tube...great song called Real Friends. Makes me feel good, makes me appreciate each of you out there on your journeys....most much happier than me and SisMrsH....Big up mi real friends! Trod on...............culture1

Hi! So far, the journey has not been so bad since I have read many other people experiences in this forum and on others so I was able to have many of my documents prepared long before they were requested.

blush.gif I do have a question though...

When are most of you guys requesting it in Jamaica? I see in other countries you can request it whenever by just going and requesting it. I know in Jamaica a request has to be made in writing but I was just wondering if the person requesting the report has to have some kind of official documentation from INS, the embassy, or NVC in order to request it???

I have everything I need for the DS230 package except for the police report and was just wondering at what point can the police report be requested. It would be really nice to be able to ship this package as soon as NVC gives me the ok so that I can keep things moving whistling.gif

You need to apply close to the date of the interview, I guess they want to make sure no crimes are committed. You can get it 3 days in advance which cost 2000JA or 21 days and it costs 1000JA. I have the address and info if you'd like it...
