I used an expanding envelope and it was convenient since there were labels for every flap and all I had to do was pull out the documents. I put my papers in folders just in case but the prescreener returned them since they already supplied a folder for my documents. I also color coded the papers with post its but you don't have to do that. I'm just obsessive compulsive that way. lol. Just hand in your papers.

I sorted the documents into 4 divisions.

Philippinesembassy and income
Hey Jason! I sent them an e-mail yesterday and I'm gonna have Jordan call the Embassy tomorrow. We're trying not to let it affect us. He's coping with it better than I am. I guess that's expected.

Thank you. Posted Image

Hang in there, I know the waiting game sucks but it is what it is....

Philippinesembassy and income
They're most concerned about the petitioner's present capacity to support both himself and the fiancée. My fiance had low income tax returns last year because he was unemployed though he landed a job in late December. What matters most to the CO is your present income. You can use assets as supplementary evidence if you need it. He has sufficient income now but we failed to show his pay stubs during my interview so I was given a blue form (221g). I submitted the lacking document last week so I'm still waiting to hear from the Embassy to update us on our case.

My aunt is leaving on the 28th and she recommended that I get PAL flight 102 or 103. (I forgot) but I have to further discuss this matter with my mom and Jordan. My mom wants to go to Vegas so I can leave with her and my aunt on the 28th or let them go ahead and just follow. If I get my visa before the 28th then I'll go with them. I wanna go somewhere in the Philippines before I leave though. My mom's bugging me to go with her but Jordan wants me to stay here till the first week of August.

It's really nice of you to give her that. I've got lots of plots to visit before I leave as well. Best wishes to you both, Jason! Rose and I might leave at the same time. lol.

So when you plan on leaving ? I gotta wait around 45 days before my Rose gets here since she wanted to be there for her dads 1 yr death anniversary and I got no problem with her dong that.

As you all might have read in my fiancé's old post, I was given a 221g slip (blue form) on July 1, 2010. I hurried back to the Embassy on the soonest day possible which was July 6, 2010 and submitted the lacking document. (Jordan's pay checks) I called the U.S. Embassy last week and I was told that my case was still under Administrative Review. I decided to call again today since I just got home and I was hoping for good news to start my weekend with. I called the U.S Embassy and talked to an agent named Bella. She broke the news to me and said that my visa was approved on July 13, 2010. I should expect my visa in the mail within 7-10 days.

I truly believe that there is a rainbow after the storm. This happens to be the most luminescent rainbow that has entered my life.

To those who got blue slips like I did, please don't lose hope. I know how disappointment that comes with receiving a blue one when you aim for a pink. It's a bitter pill to swallow but it can be remedied by submitting the appropriate documents.

To follow up on your case, call the Embassy at 3012000 and do it at least once a week. This is a local number if you need more information regarding this matter, you can email the Embassy at ConsManilaNIV@state.gov

Thank you so much Tin, Sherryl,Shiela and to the other lovely ladies I've met on this site. Also, heaps of thanks to Tahoma, Happy, Jason, Joy, Rox and baby Tyree! Posted Image

I ended the call by telling the lady that she just made my day and I incessantly thanked her. I ran to my mom's room, jumped on the bed and gave her a big bear hug! She asked me why I was crying hysterically so I told her that I finally got approved. The tears were brimming in her eyes when she asked me when I intended to leave. I looked at her with a quick retort, "I don't wanna leave yet." We just started laughing and then I called Jordan.

I know that I'm rambling so I'll end it here. Thank you for being part of our journey. I'm on an emotional high so excuse me as I hug everyone in my house.

PhilippinesWaiting time to receive visa
I was in a similar situation. I submitted the lacking document on the 7th. I called the Embassy about the status of my case yesterday and learned that I was approved on the 13th. Visa delivery takes 7-10 days upon approval but that will vary depending on the influx of cases plus backlogs.

Tell your friend that she can reach the Embassy at : 3012000 press 7 then 5184 or 5185

I believe that he waiting period depends on the kind of document you lack so call the Embassy at least once a week to check the case status.

That information was given to me by Tin (scotty's girl) and it helped me a lot!

Good luck!

PhilippinesDating Scam Stories
This information was given to me by my cousin's yaya. Lets hide her under the code XX and the American, XY.

So XX has a cousin who's scamming a self made businessman based in Hawaii. He has been supporting her for a few years now. He sends her $1,000 a week and splurges on her every time he visits the Philippines. The last time he came here, he bought her a Chanel purse, several branded clothes and a gold bracelet. XX accompanies them during their trips to Manila since her cousin insists on it. XY offered XX jewelry and bags as a gift of thanks but she declined every time it was brought up. She only accepted the money he offered when he persistently on it and the largest amount he gave her was Php5,000 which XX immediately sent to her family in the province. According to XX, her cousin never handed her parents money since her sister who married a British national sends their parents money anyway. (XY's girlfriend has a twin sister who is happily married to a British national.)

XY got his girlfriend a tourist visa a few years into the relationship and brought her to the States on several occasions. XY purchased a house and car for his girlfriend in the Philippines since he comes over at least twice a year. One day, XY unfortunately got into a motorcycle accident which cut off a certain appendage. The girlfriend stayed with him despite that. A year after the accident, XY's girlfriend met a Filipino and fell in love. She supports him financially since he's unemployed and to make matters worse, she allowed him to live in the house XY bought for her. Every time XY sends his girlfriend money, she surrenders the entire amount to her Filipino boyfriend because he threatens to leave her whenever she has no money to show.

Her parents and cousin, XX have tried to intervene but their attempts were ultimately futile. From then on, XX refused to accompany her cousin and the parents moved out of the house. During one of XY's visits, he asked to see the house and the first sight he saw was the Filipino boyfriend sprawled on the couch. XY's girlfriend quickly covered up the boyfriend's identity under the pretext that he was her brother. XY fell for it.

To make the long story short, the scammer got pregnant a year ago and the father happens to be the Filipino boyfriend. When XY found out about it, he immediately flew to Manila to confront her. He threatened to sue her if he finds out that she has been cheating on him. He then told her that he'll forgive only if it was a one time thing. The girlfriend obviously lied and said that it was a lapse of judgement which resulted to a one night stand. She gave birth and XY shouldered the expenses. He continues to support her financially especially now that there's a baby in the picture.

I hope that he wakes up from this nightmare. I feel bad for the guy though I'm not in the position to meddle with their affairs.

I'm guilty of having a preconceived notion of people yet over the years, I've overcome that superficiality. One thing I taught myself is self control when it comes to judging people especially upon seeing couples. I always tell myself, "If he/she is with her/him then he must've seen something special in that person like my partner has in me." I know that it sounds silly but that mantra works for me and the malicious thoughts in my head dissipate until I finally detach from it.

I'm proud to say that I've met Filipinas here on VJ who have bona fide relationships with their foreign husbands/fiancés which are fortified with utter love. I know the feeling of being stared at in the malls because my partner is a foreigner. I've learned to ignore it and wink at people who rudely stare. (Kanya-kanya style lang yan. lol.) It seems to work. Posted Image We can help stop the stigma and prove others wrong.

PhilippinesVaccinaton question
St. Lukes only administers a cervical cancer shot if the doctor deems that it's necessary for you to get it. I haven't met any girls who got that shot because it's usually not required.

The Gardasil shot is a complete anti cervical cancer shot is a 3 shot series so I suggest that you get all 3 shots in one place. I suggest that you get it elsewhere to avoid the hassle since you need to get the shots within an interval of 2 months. Get a shot now, get one in September then again in December. Why not have it done in NY? I suggest Gardasil and not Cervarix because the latter won't protect you from the HPV types that causes warts in areas where the sun doesn't shine... Posted Image

My OB-GYN suggests Gardasil over Cervarix cuz it has protection against more diseases in the long run.

It's not that bad. They just want to verify the information. The printing of the visa takes longer than the approval. grr. Tell her to call the Embassy at least once a week! I'm leaving on August 26. We aren't in a hurry and the ticket price is so-so.

Yeah...the dreaded blue slip...but it is okay...she didn't make it to the NSO on Friday but will go first thing Monday morning and then return to Embassy with the document and then wait for Air21. The waiting game gain. We are really getting use to this waiting game now. Feel fairly confident that she will be leaving the first week of August. Hoping for August 3 because we can get the cheapeast flight rate that day.

Olive had corrected the spelling of her name and when she did her NBI Clearance she only got the clearance in her new spelling. She needs to just take in the NBI Clearance for the old spelling. She is returning to Angeles right now and will go this afternoon and get that started so hopefully on Monday she will have that and be able to return to the Embassy on Monday with that documents and get her pink slip. Just a few days hang up but everything else was fine with the interview. She said they only asked her a few questions and the whole process was really very easy.

My passport was returned to me as well and I filled up an Air 21 slip and was told not to pay. When I returned to the U.S Embassy, I submitted the lacking document along with my passport, a copy of the white paper plus the blue form with my details. It's not a denial. They just need the lacking document in order to continue processing your case. I'm still under Administrative Processing. Day 9 and counting...

The embassy gave Ivys passport back to her and gave her the air21 slip to fill out but told her not to pay until after she brings back the 2009 income tax records. Does this mean we are denied coz they gave her passport back?

PhilippinesBlue slip i guess
Did they hand her a 221g form? I was given a blue slip (221g form) on July 1st since I didn't have my fiancé's pay stubs with me. I was asked to return between Monday-Thursday and I did just that. It's disappointing and I had my share of tears as well but the best thing for Ivy to do is check on the case and be optimistic. The consul focuses more on your present income. I surmise that they asked for your tax returns so they'll have something to base your financial stability on.

I had a co-sponsor yet the consul was more concerned with my fiancé's capacity to support me. The acceptance of the co-sponsorship is upon discretion of the consul. Submit the missing document and call the Embassy weekly to check on your status.

Here's the number: 3012000 press 7 then 5184 or 5185

The lady at the Embassy told me to wait for a week or two so all I can do is call and check for updates. Be optimistic and hang in there! Posted Image

The embassy lost my 2009 tax transcrits i guess, somehow they dont have them, and told Ivy they need them and to bring them back friday. Now im really worried because i have been self employed for the last 10 years and my taxes dont show enough money. But i have started a job with new company this year and had employement letter and all check stubs since i started work. They told Ivy i not make enough income to suport 2 people but with my new job i make 3 times enough.
It seems they going on past years income more than what u make now!only thing they ask for was 2009 income tax file,i know i send it coz i sent the last 3 years.im trying to scan and send to Ivy now so she will have them and can take back friday
what everyone think will she get visa or be denied?
Im so depressed and Ivy is crying im going crazy now!Any advice should i get coSponser? they didnt ask for one.only ask for 2009 tax

Money remittances are&nbsp;<b>not&nbsp;</b>required. My fiancé never sent me any money and it wasn't asked from me on the interview day. If you have some then that's fine but if not, leave it at that. Build strong proof by stacking up on chat logs, phone logs, your fiancé's cellphone logs, snail mails, emails, pictures and such. I detailed my documents in my blog.&nbsp;I have an entry about how to arrange papers for the interview in my blog. Click the link below my timeline if you want to see it. Remember to choose conversations that show how well you mesh because the consul will scan that.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Good luck!&nbsp;<img src="http://www.visajourn...fault/good.gif" alt="" class="bbc_emoticon"></div><div><br></div><div>Toni</div>

Philippinesproff of current income?
Did Ivy receive a denial letter in the mail? If not, you haven't been denied. The Embassy just wants to assure that you have sufficient evidence for them to base their decision on. Like the others have said, supply the missing documents and then wait for at least 10 working days. That's what I did. Pay checks/pay stubs are the best form of evidence you can give to prove that your present income is above the required amount. Jordan's '09 income was extremely low since he was unemployed last year but the consul was able to see past it. Submit another Employment Letter to appease them and then continue to check on the status of your case.

Good luck!

PhilippinesGetting Ready for US Flight
When I submitted my lacking document, there was a lady in front of me who submitted a corrected NBI clearance. The process was the same for her as it was for me. She was told to wait and be notified by the Embassy. Visa delivery takes 2-3 days for the Manila area upon the issuance date. Since she's in Angeles, give it a week max.

She can go to PRISM and get her CFO sticker all in a day.
Seminar - 250 (2 hours)
Sticker - 400 (1 hour)

You can read my blog so she'll know the process and requirements. Good luck! Posted Image

PhilippinesK1 Interview/Medical
Sadly, justice is evasive in the Philippines though it would have helped if she reported the crime. The robber more than likely frequents the area anyway so he'll get his karma.

You were obviously ready to bring it on like Donkey Kong! Posted Image
