Its exciting how many different ways to make vegetables into something totally different. My neighbor made that pie & I told her I'd google the recipe & make it this week. She also made homemade salsa all from veges from her garden. That salsa is fantastic! Way better than I've ever eaten anywhere else actually. I can totally taste a difference from the veges in her yard vs buying them from a regular grocery store. There is a big difference!

Also, want to add that I have darling neighbors! They grow all kinds of veges in their backyard. They have given Adam & I tomatoes (sugar babies I think they called the little sweet ones) and reg big ones, sweet onions, cucumbers, green peppers, squash, corn, mint, & limes. I have tomatoes & onions that Im going to make a Summer Garden pie with & heres the recipe:

Im thinking about putting spinach & mushrooms in it instead of bacon since we aren't bacon lovers around here.

These are so beautiful WOM! I have noooo green thumb at all... I kill plants unfortunately either with too much water or not enough. Im not very nurturing with plants :( If ever Adam & I go over again to San Antonio I'd love to stop by & visit with you though!

The only thing Im going to be trying this year is a fruit plant like blackberries or strawberries and maybe buy 1 fruit tree and attempt to not kill those.

WOM, the only thing way down south east Texas I've been able to do is kill my veges! So far only my jasmine plant has survived since last year & that was a gift from my sister. The cucumbers never survived, my watermelons grew to the size of grapefruit then burst from the sun, & the jalapeños didn't make it either. It was all disappointing !

Middle East and North Africaname change after marriage?

My husband had 4 names. Ahmed M. A. A.   When we filed back in the day it just became A.M.A on his paperwork which dropped the 2nd A (which was his grandfathers name)  I knew that one day he would legally change his entire name so I never took his name.  In 2012 he became a US Citizen and changed his name completely from what he was born with to just Adam Y.   I still haven't changed my last name to his and we are fine with that.  When we have a child one day she/he will have his last name & we are both fine with that and at that point I will decide what I want to do.

Moh, I think Trina should come visit you and you both take pictures together while she is there in Alex and maybe even go visit the Embassy together. Its been about 2 yrs or alittle longer since ya'll have physically seen each other, and that might be a issue for the CO. If yall look for plane tickets now, and I suggest www.flycheapabroad.com she can probably get a flight to Cairo for around $1200 or less round trip. That would be worth seeing your fiance, taking pictures together and another BIG proof to the Embassy.

Another thing, I had a co worker from Afghanistan, engaged to a guy but he was living in Germany. They didnt have pictures together in over 2 yrs, and she had to take about a week off work and fly over there to take pictures together, bcz the Embassy said they didnt have pictures together in over 2 yrs. just something to think about...

Middle East and North AfricaA question From Egypt!!

I did k3 spouse visa back in 2006 ... hubby is from Alexandria Egypt too.   I hear CR1 is a better option but either way... each couple has their own choice to make.  Either way could get you a visa here or could deny you a visa here.  Best wishes.

Middle East and North AfricaWhat was it like to see him for the first time?
I flew from Atlanta to Frankfurt, then there to Cairo. The plane in Frankfurt had an issue and we all had to get off after almost 2 hours of being on it waiting to figure out what was exacty wrong. I was tired as all get out and a hot mess literally with my hair since we didnt have any ac while we waited on the plane for 2 hours! I called Adam and told him I would be later than what was scheduled and he was waiting in Cairo already. I had told him I was going to be wearing bright green pants with a bright red shirt (so he couldnt miss me) lol
Finally made it to Egypt, got my bags & noticed that everyone was so helpful and wanted to bring my bags out. They all wanted money I noticed, bcz they were asking for just $1... I told many no no I got it, but I did let one guy bring it out the door of the airport.

I called Adam & told him I was heading outside. Went outside and didnt see him until like a 3rd bus and he stepped out and came towards me with a huge smile . I kept thinking in my head "No PDA, no pda!
He went to give me a greeting with a cheek kiss but I got scared from the NO PDA and I turned my head and he kissed my neck. That was awkward! lol He had told me he had a limo for me and then I find out its only something similar to a camry with ac. I told him wait til he sees a limo in the USA!
He had his sister & best friend with him and we headed from Cairo airport to Alex. His friend drove and Adam & I got to sit in the back seat. We had dinner at his grandparents house that night & thats where we all stayed the whole time i was there. I slept in the room with his mom & sister but had my own bed. He slept in his grandparents livingroom on a mattress on the floor so he wouldnt have to go all the way to his parents house.

I remember the first movie we watched together was Titanic. He turned to me and told me that people tell him he looks like Leonardo Dicaprio. I Laughed out Loud at him! We held hands almost every time we went out wherever we went. We did kiss but not in front of his family until on our wedding night when we had a celebration party with his family & his best friends family in the northern sea coast. Took pictures of us together and we did kiss for a picture. Everytime we would go walking in Montazah Garden with his best friend & his sister we would walk hand & hand and be 100 feet ahead not even paying attention we were with them. Even now when we go out and hold hands I'll tell him "Remember Montazah!?" We went swimming in Alex and I remember him holding me in the water. Such sweet memories! Im so in love with my husband & so thankful and blessed to have him forever!

WOM, I thought the half can of chicken broth was only for cooking in with the onions? Should I still do that and then add the other half to the layed dish before cooking in oven? Thinking to make it this weekend.

This situaion is not funny, its very questionable to all of us bcz his answers from one day to the next does not match at all. As well as when given responses & asked more questions to clarify then he doesnt. If my husband acted and responded the same way as the OP did for his interview and on a public forum, not only would the Cairo Consulate question him... I sure would too!

So yesterday he says he knows his wife dont have bank acct but today he says he answered yes. Then yesterday he wrote that they have income from her sister and in the topic today he says its income from her brother???

I've emailed the consulate to see whether my case has reached them or not.... if i found out that only I-13O has reached the consulate then im automatically going to be persuing CR-1 right?

I believe since your I130 reached the Consulate then you go for the CR-1 ... I had applied for both I 130 & I 129f for my hubby and the I 130 never made it to the Consulate so that is why we had to do K3... which means we adjust status when he came... CR1 would get him here with his greencard but then it does take a bit longer... but its cheaper and better way to go in my opinion... I didnt have much of a choice on our end and hubby had to get here ASAP. -Tam

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresinterview story for Cairo embassy
Hello, My husband has a pretty common full name. His interview was May 2007, his AP was 4 months til Sept 1st, then he was requested upon to get a Movement Certificate which was our hold up from Sept - Dec (was only supposed to take 2-3 weeks) By December the Embassy was calling him to find out about the movement certificate bcz they were ready to issue his visa, and no movement certificate was given to us bcz of some reasons, the Embassy did what they needed to and he got his visa by Jan 1st 2008. but AP for us was only 4 months from May-Sept.
