Morning Maureen and Terry! I called into work today to take care of my sick children. Well I know for certain my daughter is sick but I'm not so sure about my son!! I will admit that yesterday he went to the school secretary and said his throat hurt and that his tummy was bothering him. They sent him back to class and he finished his day. But my daughter was picked up by my dad and threw up several times last night. I am just not the person that can deal with that. I make a fool out of myself.

Maureen, I hope your daughter feels better soon and that you get that big rig of yours parked correctly at Walmart so you don't get cussed at for double spaces! Just kidding....

Terry, how are you?

Everybody else in MENA land take care and have a nice day!

laughing.gif You and your love for cats!!!! I would love to redecorate our bathroom since it's a mishmash of beach/ocean themes and ducks, but everytime I go to do it one daughter wants more ducks, the other wants it all pink dead.gif , I'd like to do a purple theme with lavendar and iris flowers and the hubby doesn't really care as long as we get a new bidet hose that doesn't leak. lol

Any idea where to get a bidet hose?

Some few years ago, before i bought my house, I had a bathroom with a labroador theme. It was the coolest thing. Nobody else had it. Now bathrooms with a dog theme are in style.

My husband and I are aguring about an old treadle sewing machine that i inherited. He don't like it, says its ugly and wants me to get rid of it. I won't, and no matter where i try to put it, its in his site! UGH! I'm so frustrated!

Tasha your husband is so funny! Usama doesn't have an eye for colors or style (we now have TWO empty kitty litter containers in our bedroom as our trash buckets), BUT if I were to decorate the bedroom he'd definitely want to go with me and give input, however much it may be appreciated and then ignored whistling.gif , just to have a say in it I think.

He really is funny about the house and the deco. I wanted so bad to put a mirror in my living room and he said honey, our living room is so little and it just isn't posh! LOL! Posh, where did he learn that word.???

I'm thinking when we get a house in a few years (inshaAllah) that I'd like to decorate it in a modern style. The only problem is I have too many nicknacks and chachkis. I suppose in a house, they could be spread out, but in a 1 bedroom apartment, they kind of take over, lol.

I've been reading the moderncat blog recently, and I just love how simple and clean everything looks. We have cheapo scandinavian furniture already (ikea), and I figure we could collect good, higher quality pieces over the year and build the look.

This would be the neato, but for some reason, I think my husband wouldn't go along with it. Wonder why?

Oh me likes that. Nice and clean looking!

I want to share with you that my husband is a decorating freak. I told him he reminds me of some kind of gay man on a television show because most guys could give a hoot less about these things. He asked me to wait until he gets home to buy curtains or send him some pictures of them so that he can see if he likes them. I thought whattttttttt??????? I have never had this happen before where a man likes to decorate as much as a woman. Once I get some more things going I will post some pictures. Our bedroom looks awful....its a pretty dark blue called chinese porcelain but it needs lightened with pictures and stuff. I thought some pretty white curtains with dark blue ribbons would be cute for tie backs.

I understand the walmart thing...do you guys have a Hobby Lobby? My husband can stay in there for hours just looking at everything...he's such a diva...lol! He would die if he knew that I shared that with you. He can be a manly man but has this tact for color and selecting pictures that look awesome with just enough texture and color to them.

Kamal has a pretty keen eye for decorating too! Sometimes he hangs things a bit too high. but otherwise he's done pretty good in the house and outside too.

considering redoing the bathroom from lavender and yellow duckies to black and gray and white???? is that to contemporary hardly MENA though... thoughts!!!???? It's only going to be 9 days until he's here! and my bedroom hasn't been touched!

runs around in a circle arms flailing

do i wait to do the bedroom or do it before he's here?????? suggestions

I'd be tempted to put some nice candles and flowers and maybe some new sheets in the bedroom, and then wait to decorate it together once he's here. That would be a fun "getting-to-know-each-other-again" project for the two of you in the room you will share the most, and you don't want to be worn out by the time he arrives. smile.gif

ok I have to agree it will be fun.... I recall what he is like to shop with in morocco this should be interesting here whistling.gif

Our first trip to Wal-Mart lasted two hours. Be prepared to convert everything to "Morocco time," especially in the beginning. You're going to have great fun. smile.gif

I swear Morocco time last for ever!!! lol

Now that my MIL is coming he wants to redo the sun room!! I just painted last year, so now we are gonna ad a new floor. I'm not sure what else. Some type of seating too. I love redoing things!

Looks like the kitchen is put on hold now!

I have seen some similar things done in a magazine that Better Homes and Gardens puts out called "Do It Yourself".

Lisa - I am curious about the pleats....I have the idea down ok but don't understand how you got the pleats in there without any staples showing...whats your secret? haha

You have some great ideas...thanks!

Deb star_smile.gif

Deb,
Since you cant see the back of it.. i just stapled them right to the wood.

Ya, rajaa you can find staple guns almost anywhere. Walmart even carries them i think.

I have decorated the living room in the orange colors. Along with brown couch and love seat, black wrought iron tables, black glass entertainment center and accented with red. Its awesome looking! Everyone that comes in here drools! My bedroom used to be like a pinkish red tone, now we painted it tan and the bed and table is pewter looking and the bedding is brown, tan and blue. Its so pretty. I can't beleive this house is the same one from last year. We've done so much. i just have a few bear spots on the walls and am waiting to fill it up with stuff from Morocco when we go next year!

Thanks everyone for your stories and advice, as i told my husband, as much as i would love not to spend over 500. on a crown and root canel- i think when we go to morocco it wouldn't be such a great idea for me to go to a dentist there. After all what if something happens after to the procedure and it could cost more than we had anticipated. I think we wil just save the money and get it done here.
