I'm confused, are you posting about your i-129f? This is the AoS section. Or did they ask this of your AoS applications?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresright to deny because of age
I'm sure it's a small minority everywhere pretty much. It's surprising though when I mention it to friends how many of them know a couple where the woman is at least 10 years older.

This hits the proverbial nail on the head....If the woman is much older than the man then there's more scrutiny....
Age differences whereby the man is much older than the woman is much more acceptable......

You must be a man mad.gif .

While these relationships may be more highly scrutinized in immigration (understandable since it's a fairly new concept for some countries) does not mean it's more acceptable. Always the double standards. Unacceptable.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHealth Insurance for Fiance?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHealth Insurance for Fiance?
Hello- please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum...

I'm wondering if there are any people out there who have found themselves in my situation...

I am a college student, and I currently am under my parent's health insurance. Once my fiance comes and we are married (December) I will no longer be a dependent and therefore can't get my mom's insurance. I'm going to try and figure out how I can get insurance (maybe through my university) but I'm wondering:

How would my fiance (soon-to-be-husband) get health insurance once he comes here? I just feel really lost as to how he can do that. Does anyone have any advice for me??

Thanks,
Caity

I sent about 4 or 5 photos of the two of us in addition to the passport photo of each of us, and a copy of one letter from him, and a copy of some phone records. For the initial I-129F app you do not really need evidence of an ongoing relationship, only evidence of having met within the past 2 years. Be sure to date and explain the photos. Save the rest of your phone records, emails, chats, etc. for the interview, and make sure for the chats you don't just copy and paste into a Word document because anybody can do that, take screen shots so it is original.

I did the same. Don't forget you need a signed Letter of Intent from each of you. Also remember photos of your meeting are secondary evidence; primary evidence are passport stamps, receipts, airline boarding passes, etc. Good luck.

Read the guides, study the example forms. You can do it.

I thought I only had to fill Letter of Intent? does Fiance also needs to fill one out too? please let me now soon.

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew here .. Need Help
Hi all!

I'm soo glad I have found this site!! I'm in desperate need of your help.

I'm about to file for my fiance visa for my fiance.. who lives in India. I have several question on the I-129F form.

In the instruction of I-129A form it says if my fiance signs this form then he doesn't have to sign on G-325A? but on I-129A there isn't a place for him to sign.. is he suppose to sign this form?

Do I have to fill out Part E on I-129.. ? saying that I'm filling this information out on behalf of my fiance?

On G-325A- where he has to write his parent's names. Does he have to write his mom's name that she had before marriage or her after marriage name?

How many copies of his pictures do I have to send 2?

His address is way too long in India.. would it be okay if I put see attachment where I'm suppose to put his address?

last but not the least.. do I have to send the actually application in original copy or can I make a photo copy and send that?

Thank you soo much for you help!

I really appreciated it!

Hi everyone,

I'm still working on filing for fiance visa. answering question number 18 has been little challenge for me. as my marriage has been prearranged by my family. I met my fiance in India last month and we got engaged. now I have to answer question #18 and I'm little confused on how to answer that and I don't want my application to be denied b/c of not enough details. ever since we got engaged we have been talking on the phone and on line via emails and chats.

so my question is.. will my visa be denied if I say my marriage is prearranged? and it's only been a month since I have known him? I do have the proof of meeting him last month and I also have pictures from our engagement ceremony. would this be good enough proofs?

any help would be appreciated,

    Very sensible advice, si man!

it's not about affording.. I can. and actually I just realized that last week I signed up w/Airtel and I can get call history from them. So I'm not as worried. I will just include the history from them and the history from my cell phone, when he called/calls me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! advice for marrying my foreign fiance
I have been dating my UK fiance for a while now, and we are sick of doing the back and forth thing! He is coming over to the States on a J1 Student Gap Year Visa this June. We thought we had an idea about the process, and looking through these posts proved otherwise..
    our story:
He is coming over to the States on a J1 Student Gap Year Visa this June. This Visa is a 5 month work and travel Visa, during which we were hoping to begin the immigration and marriage paperwork. He is due to leave early November, 2009.
We are looking to begin paperwork ASAP and get married ASAP as well.
Can I petition for his fiance Visa while he is over on his J1 Visa?
If so, how long does that petition take? I have been told 3-6 months (hoping this is true)
Could his Visas overlap? or would ha HAVE to go back to London for his medical appointment and such.
Also, does anyone have a general outline of the costs for everything (i keep seeing different ammounts).
We are students and have limited resources, so the cheapest, easiest way to do this would be great!
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
Also, what should we be doing in the meantime in terms of evidence of the relationship and what not.
    Thanks again, Laurel

he is coming on a gap year visa, so will be with me during the initial paperwork process..

    what should I be gathering?
I know photos and proof of seeing each other..
what about letters from family/friends? what should those say?
what info needs to be on the back of those photos?

also, im reading about needing a sponsor/support in the States? we are students and thus have no money/assets, so I am wondering, would a parent do just fine? are there requirements for this?
Just trying to begin and sort things so the process may be easier.

would it be advised to hire a lawyer to help with the process??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy hardest post yet... Our last night together
'This will be my last post here in Calgary. Tomorrow morning I leave my baby and fiancee. My heart is broken right now. "

What for? Are you going off too war? For me, that wasn't a bad thing leaving my sweetheart, we were young and we both changed considerably after five years, no longer had an interest in each other.

Family or in-law problems? I don't know how to deal with that.

Immigration problems? If her I-94 is expired, get it extended, get a good immigration attorney and get your I-130 and her I-485 sent in, if that is the case, not sure who is leaving who. Once that is sent in, you or her are here legally, again no details, just moaning. There is no immigration reason why you two should be apart.

    K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion..................divorce??????????????
Did you read the bottom of the G-325A form?

PENALTIES: SEVERE PENALTIES ARE PROVIDED BY LAW FOR KNOWINGLY AND WILLFULLY FALSIFYING OR CONCEALING A MATERIAL FACT.

The USCIS is very critical on the number of marriages to make sure a US citizen is not using marriage as a means to bring aliens into this country. If there is a trend where the divorces are between the US citizen and alien spoused, the USCIS may have questions on this point.

Both my wife and I were only divorced once, and like others on this board, we have been dealing with the USCIS for over five years now. We are on our final leg for citizenship and completed the I-751 conditional residence, but that divorce issue keeps on coming up. We are both trying to forget those years. but the USCIS won't let us.

Yep, you always use a separate sheet of paper if there is an insufficient number of blanks.

You trying to please the USCIS or yourself and potential spouse? Read all the marriage failures on this board. Must be hundreds if not thousands. Marriage is so simple, divorce is not. USCIS requirements is certainly no guide to a long and happy marriage.

But in regards to the USCIS, you will be spending the next five years of your lives proofing that you are still married.

    K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion regarding packet 3.5
Follow Instructions in Packet 3 and 4
After receipt of the approved petition, and when the filing date (priority date) of the petition is reached, NVC forwards a "Packet 3" to the beneficiary, specifying the documents needed and actions that must be taken by the beneficiary and the petitioner prior to issuance of a visa.

After the required documents have been obtained, the beneficiary should sign the reverse side of the Packet-3 letter and send it, as well as Form OF230, to the Embassy’s Consular Section.

The beneficiary, who then becomes the "Applicant," is sent a "Packet 3.5" which consists of information, forms, and requests for documents. When we receive the Packet back from the applicant (through American Express) – with prepaid return) with all the forms completed and all the required documents, we will schedule a visa interview within the next few working days.

Taken from the embassy info on VJ. Follow the link above to "embassy info" and find Pakistan. Each embassy does things a little differently so you want to make sure you follow Pakistan's guidelines and not what other VJ members have experienced at their own embassy.

I'd also suggest posting your question in the regional specific section of VJ. You'll get more specific info from people who've actually been at your embassy. Much more helpful to you!
Good luck, wish I could help more.

    K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquick question
I only know the answer to #2.
If they placed a Tb skin test on her inner forearm then yes it needs to be read 48-72 hours from when they did it. If it's not read by someone authorized to do so it becomes invalid and needs to be repeated.
If they did a blood test (QFT-quantiferon gold test) then the you don't have to go back to have anything read.
The blood test is more expensive so I'm doubting they do that but it's more conclusive. Usually it's done if a tb skin test is positive. Just thought I'd give both scenarios though.

    K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures7 months and still waiting :-(
We've been waiting a smidge longer. Receipt date of 7/13/07. I have already contacted my congressman (in december). I've been told it's in "name checks", "security checks", "extended review". I believe they all mean the same thing. Do you or your fiance have a common name?
I've been told that can hold things up. Neither of us have any type of criminal past so no idea what the holdup is.
I've also found that the timelines aren't all that accurate. If you individually look at each person's timeline there are many who forgot to fill in their NOA2 date but DO have interview dates already and there are many who haven't been on VJ since last summer or early fall so I doubt they're updated. I think the number of us still waiting is much smaller than the data suggests. It SUCKS!!
However on a positive note, up until seeing your post I thought we were the ONLY ones left. I'm sure there's still a bunch that aren't on VJ waiting too.
I'd be curious to know what you find out if you do contact your congressman. And could let you know what we find out. This tuesday is the date we were told to let him know if we hadn't received an answer to our petition so he could contact uscis again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is tha next step
You could timeline.gif and you also have Texas service center listed...they don't process anymore. It's either Vermont or California for I-129f.
You may not have a very long wait if it went to Vermont so you could start looking at what's needed for the packet 3 at your embassy and the petitioner's affidavit of support. I wouldn't collect any info yet, just prepare yourself for what you'll need to do.

My fiance was in the US when we filled it out, but had no I-94 (Canada doesn't issue them). We just explained that he was allowed in for 30 days, through which POE, and would be leaving on such & such a day. Didn't cause any problems or RFE.

They will send it to the correct consulate, don't worry. I had put Toronto on the i-129f (didn't know then that they don't do k-1 interviews there) and mine is on its way to Montreal right now!

No worries. I have heard that NVC usually sends a letter to the petitioner and I'm not positive (don't have it yet) but I'd think that letter says what consulate they sent it to. Otherwise you can call NVC to ask.
    CBRFemaleCanada2008-03-17 15:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat Happens at NVC?
Lol, I kinda figured. I had heard that even though someone goes through a long thorough check like we did, they can still encounter the same issue along the way at NVC, embassy or AOS. I was pretty nervous that would happen to us cuz it's been like that. It would be nice if they could stamp people's file saying "no further obnoxious background checks necessary, these ppl are fine" lol.
It seems ridiculous that anyone would have to be rechecked after all that.
    CBRFemaleCanada2008-03-19 12:03:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat Happens at NVC?
If it's any consolation to anybody reading this...we had a really long extended review/background check/whatever it was.. at CSC and then flew through NVC in 2 days flat!! Whatever the huge delay at CSC was for us, it was not repeated at NVC.
    Gratz on your noa2 Eli!!

    K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExpedite I-129F
That's really weird. From the wording of "your case is currently under review" instead of "this request is currently under review" makes it sound like they're adjucating your petition & you'll have your noa2 or RFE or whatever the outcome is within 30 days.

The weird thing is that it's CSC and we all know that they don't process cases that fast. If it were VSC I'd think maybe they were working on yours already so no need for the expedite.

The other weird thing is that they don't expedite cases just because you ask them to. It would have to be life or death or something military related and you'd have to have some pretty solid proof. If you did and it is this type of situation they probably ARE processing your case right now. If not, I really don't know what to think of that. I'd have to guess they mean that they are reviewing your request.

You're done with USCIS for now. Once they issue the noa2 they send your file to NVC. You can call them in a week or so to check on it. sometimes it just flies through there! Then once it's sent to the embassy you can check with DOS. They have info on when the embassy receives your file and apparently when your interview is scheduled. Mine isn't yet, but last time I called they just started rattling off the status..."your file was received by Montreal on xxxx and they sent you packet 3 on xxx and there's no interview scheduled yet" I was like, Wow, but my question is xxx lolol.

    NVC: 1-603-334-0700...choose 1 then 5
DOS: 1-202-663-1225...choose 1 then 0 (have your new number ready...it starts with your embassy initials, ours are MTL for Montreal...NVC can give you this new number once they receive your petition)

Congrats!! Everything goes so fast now!!
