Middle East and North AfricaHas marriage & life been what you expected?
It is really nice to read all this. This is my second go at a MENA marriage. And this one is so different from the first one, I can't even tell ya. My husband was here before about 12 years ago, so his adjustment to our civilization was a breeze for him. Even tho at times he will question something, he pretty much gets it all. The worse part of our marriage is him not working and me losing my job a month ago. Things have been so tight for us without the help of his family I don't know where we would be. Alhumdulilah! And the waiting for his green card has been stressful. ITs been 4 months today since our interview and we are in AP. Inshallah, I hope we get his card soon and he finds a job. I love spending most of my time with him but sometimes 24 hours a day 7 days a week can get on anyone's nerves. Thank God I love him like i do!

I just called the embassy and they told me that they need bonafide of ongoing relationship since 2007 till now .

In fact i have some cards from my fiancee but just from 2007-Jan of 2009- there is no cards from her in 2010 .Would that be a problem ?!

I have some screen shots of me and her talking on mic from 2007-2008 Would it be a problem ?

I have some emails from 2006-2010.

I have some gift receipts '' i sent her some gifts and to her mom '' from 2007-2008 - there is no gift receipts in 2009 or 2010 . Would that be a problem ?

That's all what i have .Is there anything else i have to send ?

Thank you so much everyone .

in my opinion you sound like you have enough-but thats me

Hotguy; i am so sorry about your attack. Anxiety attacks can be as bad if not worse than heart attacks. i also suffered pains back in september of last year and was hospitalized for 3 days. they finally told me that i didn't have a heart attack thank Allah but an anxiety attack. I was sick for weeks after. had a hard time doin things that used to give me joy. please take care of yourself. i clearly don't know what its like to be under ap for that long. Kamal was only under 6 days. And now I have to learn to live alone again because he filed for divorce this week. so we will be seperated again but this time its by his choosing. Incha Allah you will get that visa soon. Every one always tells me that Allah is testing you. Be strong!

I make mine by shaping them into circles and then putting them on a cookie sheet. Otherwise if you want something with the shape you can lay the filo out on a circular (cake like) pan and go from there.

Thank you!

you know i can't find any safron for the life of me!!!

You should be able to find it in most Arabic/Int'l stores. You might also find it in Mexican grocers. Some of your more "upscale" groceries should have it too. You might have to ask for it. We use it a lot. Let me know if you still can't find it & I can send you some from one of the stores here. star_smile.gif

We have one arabic store close to us, and nothing. I even went to the indian store and nothing there. its like no body uses it here, but i don't understand. I've heard its very expensive? Let me know what the cost would be. thanks.

Terrie, have you checked in the spice department of your local grocery store? That's where I have always found saffron. Yes it's very expensive here in the states, but ohhhh what a flavor!! Good luck!

I've check every store i go into for saffron. I just can't find it here!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling 2nd time
Hello everyone. I previously went through this process with my first husband, a Mexican man. We were married for 5 years and are now divorced. He had received a 10-year permanent resident card, and therefore is still in the USA. I am now re-married to a Paraguayan man (the wedding was just last month, but we've been living together in Paraguay for a year, and have 1 son together). Does anyone know if the fact I previously sponsored someone will affect my status? And with the divorce, are there any loose ends to wrap up? I guess I never did follow-up as he was still allowed to be in the US legally, and the only form I know about after being in the US is the address change... Thanks so much!!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSelf-translate?
Hello all! I was reading a cover letter done by another applicant who mentioned she self-translated documents, including a note that this was done and she was qualified. Does anyone know if this is acceptable to the USCIS? If so, any ideas on what the wording should look like as far as the translation and qualifications? I am a Spanish teacher and have lived abroad several years, so I would consider myself qualified (I've worked as an interpreter and I'm actually looking into becoming a translator here in Paraguay, but I've got some paperwork to go yet before I can apply!) Thank you!
