K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA2 Received!!!	congrats on gettin approved!!! im kinda in the same boat as well now too......its been 2 months since we received our NOA2, and we havent sent in the next set of paperwork yet cuz we arent really sure how it all works.....im guessing the packet 3 gets sent and then do they make the medical appointment for my fiance or does he have to do it on his own?? and then once they receive that is that when they schedule the interview?? we have 2 more months till it says our NOA2 expires.... eeek!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Can the IRA be used as income to support the I-864?	I am having the same confusion only as I am still living at home with parents and work cash on hand jobs mostly and we have over 10,000 dollars saved for when my fiancee moves here and we can actually start a real life together and move out so I know I am going to have troubles filling the papers in to show I can support him. do you know how I should go about this??? and as far as the IRA stuff.....I feel like with that money coming in on top of her job income you should be okay but just show you combined them. pay stubs and tax return forms are what they ask for too... Me and my fiance are trying to finish up all the paper work for the K1 visa and get it sent ASAP like this week. We want it to be as perfect as we can so we dont have to go through complications with filling anything out wrong. For those who have sent yours already, which is the best place to send it to be filed?? I'm seeing Vermont & California and then a USCIS Dallas Lockbox...not sure which I'm suppose to send to. I'm from Orlando and he is from the UK so I know his embassy is London. Also....who do we make the check/money order out to?? US Citizenship General Discussion	A few naturalisation questions	Only time I showed birth certificates for my two girls (wife and daughter) was for their AOS and all the USCIS received was copies of those made on my own copying machine as with any other document we submitted. But did have to bring those originals in at the interviews. Also carried every original document out. For the I-751, better mark your calendar to send that in exactly 90 days before those conditional green cards expire, it was strictly copies, never required any originals except for those two letters of affidavits. Also was two 450 mile trips for, besides the I-751 fee, was an extra 80 bucks for my stepdaughter, the second trip was because they were so damned slow in processing, had to take my two girls in for an I-551 stamp in their current valid foreign passports. But really don't need those, also can bring in two passport photos and apply for an I-94 extension. They didn't charge us extra for that. Really the only way to be naturalized in the USA is to be born here. Since I was and if I committed a felony and sent to prison, would just lose my voting rights. If my wife or stepdaughter did, after receiving their US citizenship, can be deported as well. Both do have US passports and can travel anywhere I can with mine, except to their home country, there, they have to maintain citizenship in their home countries, because our DOS insists on placing their place of birth in their US passports. Only cost to us was that standard N-400 fee and 19 cents for a Walgreen's print out for six photos, but they don't even use those anymore as use that terrible photo they took of you at your biometrics. Was also three 450 mile trips for us, 1,350 miles. One for biometrics, another for the interview, and the third for that lip syncing oath ceremony. That is one time we left a document, the green card. Since my stepdaughter turned barely 18, couldn't tailgate her mom, had to wait two more years with another full fee and another 1,350 miles of driving. But if she was under 18, would have cost another 600 bucks for the N-600, but only one 450 mile trip for us. USCIS does not send you a reminder for the I-751, its up to you to keep yourself legal. "Really the only way to be naturalized in the USA is to be born here. Since I was and if I committed a felony and sent to prison, would just lose my voting rights. If my wife or stepdaughter did, after receiving their US citizenship, can be deported as well"   I don't want to start anything by saying this, but I find this part of your statement particularly troublesome, and misleading. Going to prison will eliminate your voting rights, but you will still have the right to live, work, and stay in this country as a citizen. How do I know? it happened to  a person I know. US Citizenship General Discussion	Pleas advice next step- N400 pending from Apr 2013	Hello,    I cannot give you much advise, since I don't know either. But, it seems to me your case is out of processing time (120 days from Interview), and you need to take actions. Hopefully somebody else can give more input.   Good Luck.     Hello VJers, Can you please advise me on the next step to take? I filed N400 based on 5 years since my wife and I divorced in 2011. I successfully removed conditions with a divorce waiver in May 2012. I filed N400 April 2013 Completed biometrics May 2013 Interviewed Sept 2013 The interviewer told me I passed the civic test but a decision cannot be made. I have called and spoke to a tier 2 twice which I was told that my case is still pending adjudication. I had an infopass on Monday Feb 10 and was also told that my case is still pending and the officer has not made a decision yet. Please tell me what my next move should be. My guess the actual letter will be here within a couple of days. will post the date once I get it. But something tells me it is going to be somewhere within the third or fourth week of next month. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 December 2013 Filers	Congratulations and good luck with your life abroad!.      Just got back to the hotel from the Oath Ceremony. Only three people was there. We got started a little late because the third person showed up late. When i checked in, they took my green card and handed me a packet that contained a letter from the president welcoming me as a citizen, a passport application form, a book about the US, a copy of the constitution, a copy of the oath of allegiance, and a folder to hold my certificate upon receiving it. The three of us went bck to the Oath room and the officer gave us a quick over view of what we need to do after the oath. Which was make sure we update Social Security of our Naturalization and talked about passports. As soon as we left, we headed toward the passport center. But we arrived to late they only except walkins till 2:30 pm. THey told us to come back tomorrow since we have military orders they can except us as a walk in. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 December 2013 Filers	I don't believe ones gets to 'inline' status after background checks. I had my bio done on 01/03/14 which was a friday and I was put 'inline' on 01/07/14 which is the immediate Tuesday afterwards. How could they complete a background check in one business day? Seems very unlikely.   I respectfully disagree with you. every applicant will go to in-line after the backgrounds checks clears. The issue itself it HOW long the background check takes. If you have a bio done within the last 15 months(USCIS adjudicator manual), the systems clears your name way faster, my opinion.   early walk-in bios, Do help to move the process forward. My original bio date was 1/27, but I did walk-in on 1/13. I was put in line-for interview on 1/24. Have I wait until 1/27 my in-line date would have been two more weeks from 1/27.   The Only thing, I am absolutely sure, it is that you cannot take the Oath until, either your 3 or 5 years are complete. Yes you will be inline only after background is done either way.   But if you file 90 days before your anniversary and say you finished biometric after two weeks you file, there is noway your case will move to inline 30 days before anniversary even if the background  check clears.   I agree with you.	trochero	Male	Venezuela	2014-01-25 11:06:00

US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 December 2013 Filers	Got My biometrics done today, it was an early Walk-in. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 December 2013 Filers	Well yesterday turned into a big disaster. I went to USCIS Website to see if the numerous times Monday night and checked 3 times Monday morning to see if the St Louis Office was closed since it was closed on Monday. It did not show the office as being closed so left at 4 am. It was a long trip to St Louis with snow covered Interstate, it took 4 hours to travel 200 miles. At 8 am I decided to Call USCIS to make sure the office was open. I was informed at this time that the office was closed for the day. We were only 45 minutes away, so it took another 4 hours to drive back home. I decided to check the website and to no surprise it was still not listed as closed go figure. I was informed that when the office opens back up we can go back and see if they will do the biometrics because it is done case by case in-between regular scheduled appointments. So decided to just wait for the new appointment to be scheduled. After the office being closed for 2 days and maybe even today the office will be packed with walk-ins. So now the wait goes on again. Glad to hear that others are getting their bio's done. Have a great day.      I know you are 200 miles away from the ASC, but re-scheduling will put you behind...I am sure the people at the ASC knows lots of applicants could not make it on time. Thus, If I were you, I'll try one more time before asking for re-scheduling. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 December 2013 Filers	I have a question for y'all so you know what happens if you change your name? I was looking at the requirements to change your name on the tx drivers license and they ask for a court document I don't think that the naturalization paper will be sufficient will we get one? And if so when? Thank you!     Paulette, I can only tell you, that requesting a name change through the Naturalization process will push back your process a good four to five additional months. While analyzing the data from Trackitt.com/N400, all cases beyond the ten month timeframe, were those cases.   I am not expert, but know this much; If you request a name change way of the N400, will have to be approve by a judge (the 4 to 5 months delay I mentioned), once  this is done, your Naturalization certificate will have your new name. your Local DMV office will have no other choice  but to change your name   The craziest thing to do, will be to try to change your name after the Naturalization process. If you did not mark  the box for the name change in the N400 submitted already, during the interview process you can amend that, given you notify the officer of your intentions.    Good luck....but really  think about it...there are some horror stories about Naturalization cases of people you requested a name change.  Edited by trochero, 06 January 2014 - 07:05 PM.	trochero	Male	Venezuela	2014-01-06 19:04:00
