I wonder, when you're transferred to an IO and they pull up your information, does it show up as a touch in the system?

I hope you all receive good news very soon. smile.gif

Hi All

Congrats to all the filers getting approved! I know that Anna and Majid have dates very close to ours, so it brings me hope. I don't post much but I do read VJ daily and have been following the progress online.

We filed on April 23rd with a NOA1 on April 28th. We haven't gotten a touch yet, but I'm really hoping that it is any day now. It is really rough just not knowing what is happening. If I could plan, then I would feel like there is some control....

On the upside, our lawyer in Thailand (retained before I found VJ) says that the embassy is working quickly as they are not currently processing a lot of student visas that slow down the cycle at different times of the year. He says that interviews can be had in as short as two weeks instead of the usual 6-8 weeks. We have all of our paperwork just about ready to go except for the affidavit of support. The only reason that is waiting is that I am interviewing for new jobs. Hopefully I will be able to send that by FedEx tomorrow.

So hopefully in the next few weeks I will have a new life! I know that next year will bring wonderful things for us all.

Cheers and stay positive!!!

Chris

Good things are on their way soon, have hope. smile.gif You're lucky, though, if the embassy is moving quickly. Montreal is having a heck of a time scheduling everyone, as it's the only consulate in Canada that deals with the CR1/IR1 visas, and only one of two consulates that deals with the K1. Even after NVC is done, I could be looking at a long wait.

That is just fabulous news. kicking.gif Congrats John&Desi!!!

I didn't post much either until I got 2 'touches' this week. I was hoping that meant news of an approval or at least a RFE, but nothing since Tuesday. I think I'm going more batty now that that happened. Do they not have my email correct? Is there an RFE coming? Did they forget to update the file? Is this just standard torture for USCIS?

Congrats to all the recent approvals!!!

Maybe they're just enjoying reading that package of yours? smile.gif I'm sure you'll hear something soon.

Soo many folks being touched... Woo. Haha.

I think this process makes us all crazy. Maybe it's just me.

I keep envisioning the date I wanted to see appear when I log into USCIS. blink.gif I swear, I need to stop logging into that site.

Glad to hear that some of you are getting movement though. smile.gif

Good morning. smile.gif

It's funny... Did my morning routine today (check email, log into USCIS, check Igor/Berkley, VJ timeline, etc), and I got to thinking...

Remember waaaaay back (what seems like forever ago), when you received your NOA1 and VJ finally inputted a timeline for you... Remember how far away September seemed at that time? Though I think it was jumping between Aug-Oct back then due to folks slowing inputting their own timelines, but still...

Looking at it now, so close to being present time... just a very odd thing.

kicking.gif

My own ramblings for this morning.

Hope we see some more approvals coming our way. And good news from Mara and Chris. Have a good day everyone.

Congrats! kicking.gif

Immediate next step? Breathe sigh of relief, I'm sure. smile.gif And maybe, if you haven't already, start filtering through what files you need to have gathered for the Packet 3 list, as some of them can take a couple of weeks to come in the mail, etc, if you don't have them buried away in a closet somewhere.

Hi everybody, well in 1 weeks time after receiving the noa2 email.. I received the hardcopy noa2 and then I called NVC they already had the case file, gave me the case number, then today I got the NVC Letter!!!!

I know what a hard thing it is to wait... but take a little comfort that the rest of the process seems very streamlined and working very good and quick!

You called upon receiving the hardcopy and they already had it? Wow, that's quick. smile.gif Good stuff.

*hug*!!!! I'm so sorry, I hope you find it.

Far as them jumping all over, you have to realize, it's not as if we're all in one big pile in perfect dated order... We're all thrown into mildly organized boxes on a shelf, boxes that are then taken out by individuals and processed on their time. Although it isn't very much fun, it's somewhat understandable that Mister A might be working on Box 1 (containing files 1-80 wacko.gif ), while Mister B pulls Box 2 (containing files 80-whatever) and starts working on that himself.

And then, of course, when File 25 can't be found in Box 1, 2, 3, whathaveyou... That's when it gets really fun.

Who has been feeding you this kind of information? There is no way a box of March is still on the shelf and all of a sudden WOW we are into May. No way will I beleive that they could pass up so many petitions and move 2 months ahead. We got a big problem, and it is called management!!!!

I didn't say it was on all of the old files were waiting shelf. I said that multiple people are processing files at any given time, and so it's not always going to be in an order of sorts.

There was a long FAQ that described how the offices worked from a former employee's perspective. I'm not in any way disagreeing that management is lacking over at VSC (and most government offices). I'm simply saying that one person could be particularly slow in processing one batch of files, while another employee has moved onto another set.

And I 100% concur about bringing in employees who had only been through this themselves. Imagine how emotion the workplace would be though...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I got a touch today after nothing since April 24th. I know it isn't the NOA2 approval, but at least they know we exist!!

I haven't posted before on this board, but reading your stories and updates has kept me sane (so far). THANKS!! I just had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Oh AND we hired a lawyer who is zero help. I wish we would have read everything on this website before hiring her. Oh well.

Anyways, good luck to all of you and hopefully we'll all have good news soon smile.gif

Yes, unfortunately there have been quite a few stories kicking around where a lawyer has proven to be little benefit, or, at worse, an actual hindrance to the process. A very unfortunate thing for those who find problems in hiring someone to help them lessen stress and concern.

Congrats on your touch, and hopefully you have some happy news on the way very soon. smile.gif

Our lawyer got back yesterday from Germany, he will be perusing why USCIS hasn't done anything on Monday, till then we just have to wait.

The weather has taken a turn for the worse for our last weekend by the beach, it is actually semi amusing that we made a fire because it is blowing a gale, raining and well cold lol.

Hopefully it wont be too horrid for our trip home tomorrow.

May you have a safe trip home, and something good (or at least, better) news from your lawyer come Monday.

Hello Theglassguy,
I understand your being in a flutter since we got the same RFE last week, but yesterday we got the hardcopy and saw the silly RFE.My fiancee forgot to anwser 'yes or no' question in the I129 form. All that was it..Someone told me that 'Request for initial evidence' is different from 'request for additional evidence',and if there's a missing info or incomplete doc.(such as signature, unanswered question, missing documents, photos in wrong size etc..) they'll send RFE(Initial not additional).
So all you can do for now is waiting for the hardcopy of RFE,you'll see there's nothing to worry about it.Please don't get stress.(RFE is coming in about 4 days)

Stay in peace my friend.Have a nice weekend energy.gif

Glad to hear it was something easy. Now you can be on your way once again. smile.gif

What a bummer. Is bad...I'm not going to say otherwise. But at least they are working on your file. And no....they are not going to put you back at the beginning of the queue. They will wait for your response. In the meantime they will work on other files.

But hey.....do you have a copy of the I-129F package? Give it a good check. Compare it with the guides here in VJ. Maybe you can find out what was wrong and probably have it ready by the time you get the RFE hardcopy.

You will get through this. You will see.

PEACE......

I just looked over every thing and the only thing I can see is that there is not a zip code put in the box for her city? Could this hold it up??I mean my lawyer only copyed my plane tickets and a few pictures, thats about it.

Hopefully you mean, that the pictures and tickets were the only evidence your lawyer supplied, but that the other requirements for the package were still included: long form birth cert. for you and/or copy of passport, letter of intent to marry from each of you with original signatures, etc etc?

Yes all was included,Only thing my lawyer said we need on birtcert, was my passport. So Maybe its that.

If I recall, simply including the passport (especially if you didn't have a long form cert.) was acceptable. I just overloaded our package and included both my fiance's (USC) certificate and passport to be safe.

Like Victor said, if you have a copy of your I-129F package, pull it out now and start going through it with a fine-tooth comb. They are looking for initial evidence, so it's something missing that should've been in your original package... or, they simply misplaced something that you sent in the initial package, that they need, heh...

Don't worry. You're not at the back of the line, you're now sitting on that person's desk. They start working on other files, and when they receive your response, they continue processing yours.

I'm sorry you got an RFE. But hey, at least it's there, and someone has looked at it. smile.gif

Hi! I called VSC today and spoke to a nice lady on a phone asking her questions concerning my case. Basically my concerns were about processing times and the inefficiency of approval process due to jumping to later cases rather than earlier. As far as processing times she told me that september is too optimistic for me to get a notice , more likely by Thanksgiving. As far as jumping she told me that every case is different therefore it takes more time to approve some of cases. Not very encouraging conversation. I called my attorney afterwards. He simply told me to stay put and just wait. There is nothing can be done. Even expedite process is impossible. Senators and congressman have no pull in it. Sit and wait.

From what I've read from others throughout the forums here, it seems as if the attendants over the phone will most likely give you a worst-case scenario. Don't fret just yet. smile.gif

Ok... so in your defense I went to March and read back some 15 pages and I only see 1 derogatory comment about the 'people' in April. I do see many comments as to the date of the April approvals. I can not and will not defend the 1 comment, other than to ask you to understand there is more there than meets the eye. We as March filers are happy to see the VSC on crack and approving at record pace. As one of those March filers that have been left behind (so far) I can tell you it is extremely frustrating and I sincerely hope that none of you here in April have to feel that frustration. this process is enough to make even the best people angry sometimes.... and I know all you here understand that.

Good luck April

Once again, I don't see where you're pulling from my post that I was in any way making a comment towards the March filers in whole or large part. I'm sorry you see it as such and that it was taken that way. There is more than meets the eye. We have filers in this thread, as you know, that have refiled from over a year ago and are still waiting.

I apologize for how you're taking my post - I don't take it back. I still don't understand taking frustration over this process on the very same people who are struggling through it themselves. But I'm sorry you felt that my post was a directed insult towards the whole of March filers. It certainly wasn't.

QUOTE (Stephen + Elisha @ Aug 27 2009, 05:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
First of all, I apologize for venting my frustrations here last night. I regretted it almost immediately, despite the persistent ill humour USCIS has induced in me of late. Mea maxima culpa.

Second, I don't blame anyone other than USCIS for what I'm going through. And I don't begrudge anyone here their happiness or their chance to be with their loved ones. But tell you what: go stand in a long line somewhere, and see if you don't get frustrated if they start helping people who are much further behind you in that line while making you continue to wait.

God forbid you should have to share the experience of seeing approval after approval come down the line with NOA1s later then yours. And I do really mean that: God forbid it—I don't wish this on anyone.

Sincerest congratulations to all who have been approved—and may the rest of yours (and mine) come quickly too!

I sincerely hope you see the happy letter of approval any day now. And thank you for what you said.

You know, I have to express my frustration for just a moment, due to something I just saw.

Having filed our I-129F in April, and been compiling our package for many months prior to that, I've been on VJ and watching VSC's progress each month through the various threads here (prior to learning about Igor's list, where my obsession could be tamed in a nice, neat page, heh). Every month that VSC starts is another one closer to us. So when they hit February, I was overjoyed that the couples from that month were finally getting touched and processed. When March was in the beginning stages of processing, again, pleased as punch that they were getting on their way. And now seeing couples from April, just like my Ben and I, getting processed, even having filed after our NOA1 date... it makes me happy. Why on earth would I begrudge someone the chance to be with their loved one?

Having said that, I made the mistake of wandering into the March filers' thread. Between the individual who chose to come in here and rant at the approved filers here, and the comments being made at that thread towards those from our month who have been blessed enough to be moving along in their own journeys... I guess I find it somewhat upsetting that hatred and ill will is being tossed at others who are enduring the same long, drawn-out and at times quite painful process...

/rant

Far as today, perhaps no one else is as addicted to checking the website for their pending approvals as we are, friend. smile.gif

I do sincerely hope you will not paint the whole March family with the same brush as one individual? It might do you better to go back a few pages and read ALL the support from the majority of the March family. I seem to even recall one in particular offering to help an April filer today smile.gif

The vast majority are very happy to see people getting approved... having said that,, try being a February filer or early March and seeing April 28 approvals... it is very hard to stay positive and upbeat. We rant, just like you just did...

In the words of an OLD (like me) Michael Jackson song... "One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl"

At no point did I say that the March bunch was badmouthing those of us here.

In no way was my post directed at the hundreds of March filers, obviously... it was directed to those who have actually posted ill feelings towards the filers here, when none of us have any bearing or control over any possible hardships the March, February, January and similar filers face in their own processes.

And I would like to think that, if May sees its near-end approvals and I'm still watching the USCIS website waiting desperately for our own relief, that I won't be declaring my hate for those that followed me.

Hey everyone!

I got approved today! I rec'd an email from CRIS at 6:30pm today. April is on a roll!

... while we March people rot in VSC hell.

Count your blessings, April filers.

And there are those left behind from Dec, Jan, Feb as well. I'm sure anyone approved is quite thankful of their situation. No need to bring them down for our poor luck.

Congrats to all of the ones that got approved yesterday!

My Sweety has Tonsillitis this is why she is so sick. She is on some good drugs that cost 300 dollors!! But if you dont have the money you dont get whatyou need in that country. She is doing a little beter but still not out of the woods.Hope she will be fine in a few days but now she is worried about her business because she needs to run it to make money. I told her relaxe if any thing Ill send her more money. It will be fine I just hope she does not push her self to get back to work to soon,She is very proud and does not like asking me for money.

And Im feeling a little down today because I see all of this april filers getting done and there dates as pasted mine,I wish they would get mine done soon.Im all ready to buy the plane tickets and go right now.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but at the very least, I'm sure it's a comfort to know why she's sick. Not knowing adds stress and anxiety to an already hard situation. Hopefully with her medication, all will clear up quickly. *hug*

Our time is coming, friend. Our approvals are on their way aaaaany day now. smile.gif

I am dying to hear good news about Chris and Mara

Scott I am dieing to hear good news myself However I have none... No NOA2 in the mail, no call from our lawyer. We rang his firm yesterday turns out he is in germany till friday, an assistant was going look through his incoming mail to see if there as anything about us in there and call us back. She never did.

So it seems that we have run out of options, and we can't afford to pay the money to have the lawyer chase it anymore so we are looking into the australian immigration system and chris may be coming home to me come Christmas time...

To the troll who decided that he needed to add his/her negative 5 cents, frankly we don't want it. USCIS deals with millions of visa applications a year, and whilst yes there system sucks (I've been in it over a year now) complaining here and calling names won't do anything. The fact of the matter is you could complain about it everyday and the 200
Million odd americans that will never personally have to deal with them could care not. They aren't going to fix this system it's not in the interests of the majority to do so. VI was created for support please use it for that as everyone in thread are positive people, what you need to be to survive this process.

Mara, what on earth?! With the appeal and everything... there's still nothing? I have anxiously been expecting to hear wonderful news and moving ETAs from your end... I am incredibly upset to hear otherwise.

At the very least, was your holiday enjoyable?

Guys Im so worried about my baby Girl she is very sick.Im very worried about her because the Ukriane does not have good Docters. If you get real sick its not good. She has the flu but its not acting like any flu I have seen.Im very worried. She has come on only a few times this past 2 days and she looks so bad.

If she gets worse I may jump on a plane in be there this weekend.Pray for us people I could not handle it if some thing happened to my baby!

sad.gif I hope she gets better soon, but try not to make yourself sick with worry either! That wouldn't help either of you. *hugs*

And just to add my own two cents to the side discussion that went on... We're all frustrated. Yes, this process sucks, it's stressful and very straining on our long-distance relationships with those we love. Is the system flawed? Absolutely. But getting upset with other people here or name-calling will not change that fact. We are here to give support and wisdom to the others in the same boat as us. Please, don't lose sight of that.

...I like Richard-Joanna's better... less frightening... blink.gif

And VSC seems to be like that. When half of the February filers were completed, they jumped onto March. Same when it came halfway through March filers. I think it gives the illusion of progress, but when you see poor souls like the ones approved from December... Obviously they need to clean up the ones they've got straggling behind.

Heck, I need a job. Hire me to pump out approvals!

Hey I just saw an approval with NOA1 form 4.23 yours must be coming soon too kicking.gifsmile.gif

Yeah, I've seen a few from mere days before ours to our very date. Hence getting so antsy.

I can't imagine how those of you with early April dates fare while seeing approvals come for cases that were filed after yours. Or couples in March, February, and the like. Eek.

I'd be happy with just a touch. Just change that silly date on our case file from April 26th. That would make me ecstatic.

I don't know why the gloom and doom has set in these last couple of days. But right now, it seems like it will be an incredible feat if I'm home in Florida before Christmas.

Come on, VSC. Keep our spirits up with an April approval or two (or five, or ten, or all?).

Where do I get my pom-poms?

Still waiting for NOA2

Welcome to the club!

sam and ben, what part od Florida are you going to? I live in Pensacola. 10 minutes from Orange beach.

Ben's from Casselberry, which is about 40min outside of Orlando.

Nice part of Florida, Orlando. I moved to Pensacola 2and1/2 years ago because a very good friend of mine lived here and he passed away while I was in China in April. When I get my sweetheart here, we will decide if we will stay here or move to a bigger city. No news on any noa2? whats up with that.

Bit busier than I'm used to, but it seems lovely. And lively. Endless possibilities when it comes to things to see or do.

I recall travelling through Pensacola on my last trip downward. Took Greyhound, and we hit many, many cities throughout FL.

Oh my goodness Sam, how many hours was it by bus?

What is going on today? Not too much activity mad.gif

Not enough activity at all. All of you silly approved April filers are getting me so anxious! I'm now checking the website every moment spared...

And it was 36hrs down, 32hrs up. It was a very, very long ride.

Im sure alot of people have waited longer.

Trying to keep busy. The days I have off are the worst; I have nothing but time to check every list, website, etc possible. It's driving me crazy.

At the very least, I can look forward to going back to Florida in a couple of weeks. I'll have to enjoy it, as it seems like my consulate (Montreal) is slacking a fair bit too, and even if we get our NOA2 within the next little while, it'll still be November/December or later before we get an interview. sad.gif

How long have you know each other? Maybe thats why they want more proof,I hope I dont run into this problem, Me and Anya really will on have know each other for a year this Nov, But we are so in love and talk to each other every day of the week,We have cams on out computers and then she gets home from work Im just getting to work.We spend most of our free time chating and seeing each other,We have not stop doing this now for close to a year.If thats not love then I dont know what is.I hope they dont use that stupid 2 year thing because 2 years is crazy.Meny people fall in love in the first few week.

The two year requirement is not for length of having known one another, just that you must've met or seen your significant other within the last two years (with the exception of extreme circumstances, etc etc). Many couples apply after only having known each other a year. As long as you have met Anya in person (and can prove that), you shouldn't have any problems.

Hope you see your NOA2 soon! smile.gif

Chileck, I'm sorry to hear about the RFE. But, as others have said, this means that your file is at least on someone's desk and waiting to be worked on. Once they receive whatever it is they're missing, it'll continue on in the queue. And it does sound as if they're asking for something they feel is missing from the package from what you've said, not that require more of any particular thing. Filter through your initial package and take a look. Maybe it was something simple?

I myself wrote a date wrong on my own G325A (employment date, they didn't seem concerned so it still hasn't been changed), despite checking it over and over until the words blended! mad.gif It happens.

Unfortunately, it also has to be pointed out that it isn't unheard of to receive RFEs for things you did, in fact, send. *shakes head*
