Good luck to you guys! Hopefully all goes well, and we'll get to hear good news from you before the weekend is through!

So, I returned to work this Monday, after having spent three weeks down in Florida. Two days after returning, my boss and his wife left for their three week vacation, so I am stuck here with no one to interact with and nothing to distract me! Not pleasant.

So... in an effort to keep the thread alive, I will pose a question to everyone here.

What led up to the decision that you beneficiaries would be the ones relocating to reside with your future spouse? Why not the other way around?

I don't know... 4-5 months sounds about right. When you think about it, once VSC is done fumbling with the file, everything moves a lot quicker at NVC and the Embassy itself, so a 6-7 month timeline overall would still be possible. As a worst case scenario, it isn't horribly bad.

They are handling files from December, but also files from March. I'm keeping my hopes up by watching that.

The last approvals from Vermont are petitions from December. Did someone found a lost stack of files or what? I really hope none of us fall on a stack like that. God protect all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PEACE...............

With the many, many methods of organizing files and paperwork these days, including digitally, clearly them "losing" files is a matter of negligence.

So somewhat related to waiting games... has anyone tried to put in a GM ticket lately?

It used to be a four-hour wait at least, but in recent weeks, I've seen nothing short of a day and a half. How ridiculous is that?

I'm thinking massive layoffs? They're trying to downplay GM roles in a lot of things too... allowing the trade of soulbound items amongst raid/party members for up to two hours following pick-up in order to facilitate mistakes, etc. Kinda crazy.

I'd avoid "The VJ's"... as there are far too many prepubescent males on the game for it to lead to anything good. headbonk.gif

I do love seeing those March approvals... means we're headed somewhere... sometime. Yay.

Loud weekend... I swear I haven't seen that many fireworks in my life all shooting off at the exact same time. Seemed like 9pm hit on Saturday and every fiftieth house had a lights display. Crazy.

If you can stay the full time of the Visa wavier and I was you I would, i learnt my lesson last June doing the right thing meant we were apart for 6 months, really no fun at all.

Though I don't think I'd feel okay waiting it out here (too many obligations at home), I'm thinking another week couldn't hurt.

In the craziness of finally getting here, I actually forgot to jump on and let everyone know about how hassled I was at the border! Oh boy, did I ever get some so-and-so for an officer first thing in the freaking morning.

Heh, maybe that's part of why I want to stay longer. The idea of simply coming back on a visit doesn't sound appealing until after crossing over.

I didn't have my official breakdown until I got home last time, but I lost it a little bit while waiting in line at security, with him standing right next to me. I'm going to try to be real strong now. I have thirty hours aboard a Greyhound to break down (and appear completely unstable to all those around me, hehe).

The part that's driving me nuts right now is that I've got no reason to go back. I could stay here for a month and it wouldn't be any sweat to me; I've barely got a job waiting for me back home, if at all. I know that's weighing on his mind like it has been mine. But I know I should do the right thing and go back, attempt to find something to fill time/make us some extra money before coming over... It's just so hard not feeling like you have a place anywhere.

Wonder what those at VSC get paid... maybe I can apply for a job there when I cross over...

I'm more looking forward to flying back to the states on the 4th of August, but don't tell anyone that....

Lucky you!

I don't know when I'll be back again... was somewhat hoping this would have to be my last "visit".

But, happy news: VSC is on February 26th!

Hello to everyone! Congrats to the recent approvals and to those still waiting, my heart goes out to you.... Anna and Majid I am happy to see you are already out of NVC to Casablanca!

I finally locked down a new job offer, but had a few weeks before the start date so I skipped town and headed to Bangkok. It is great to be able to spend an unexpected two weeks with Rinda. I have everything ready to go for Packet 3. I want to get the interview scheduled as soon as possible. I don't think that Rinda will be able to come back with me, but I would love to get her through the remaining process by mid-October.

Before I left we had not yet received the NOA2 as well as NVC had not yet received our case. Does anyone know if we can apply for the police report and medical here without the NVC case number? Do we need the actual letters or can I just keep calling NVC to try to get it? (I left my mailbox keys for some friends to check, but would hate to have that stuff sit just because I am here in Thailand.)

Thanks

Chris

I don't know if it varies by country, but even though I haven't yet received our hard copy of the NOA2, let alone my Packet 3, I have all of my documents ready and waiting. The medical itself requires the case number, but collecting vaccination records, police reports, etc, shouldn't. If a reason is needed, simply cite immigration purposes.

Hello April Folks,
Congratulations to all those who have received the NOA2. For those still waiting, my heart and hopes go out to you for a speedy and joyous end to your torture. I've never actually been tortured but the wait between NOA1 and NOA2 has to qualify as mental torture. The night I noticed a touch and then got the email shortly after was one of the most emotional moments of my long life. Our Story so far:

I-129F sent - 4/11/09
NOA1 received - 4/23/09
NOA2 email - 27 August
NVC Letter - 9 September (dated 3 September)
10 September - Called The Embassy In Manila, they wanted to set the interview for 16 September. We needed time for the medical so its set for 23 September. Claire and Alexis will be at St. Lukes on the 15th.

I have read every guide here and any posts I can find on the subject but I'm still confused - maybe its just the stress of the moment and not wanting to make any mistakes.

Can you guys double check me please?

I-134 Affidavit of Support - Just need 1 copy signed by me with all supporting information attached?
DS 156 Visa Application - Just need 1 copy for Claire?
DS 156K - Need 2 copies for Claire and 2 Copies for Alexis?
DS 157 - Need 2 copies for Claire and 2 Copies for Alexis?
Application Fees - $131 each paid at Banco De Oro prior to the interview - reciept is stamped on the DS-156K?

Thanks everyone and please wish us luck,

Along with everything else I'm assuming you are sending, it looks good. I am sending 2 copies of originals, just in case...one never knows.

Ensure that you also send another original letter stating your intent to marry your fiancee. Two copies of this to be safe would be a good bet.

They are most likly spending more time with me because I have owned my own business for so long. And I owe some back tax's,But I have them set up on a payment plan. ANd Im sure they will call my IRS Agent to check to see if Im up on all my payments. I think this would bring up a red flag.Plus with the Ecom, Being in the crapper they dont need more people in the USA unless I can afford to take care of her.

It may be the reason but not sure.

You know, I'm not 100% sure, but I didn't think the support and whatnot came up until the interview stage, when the I-134 is introduced. I could be wrong, though.

Dennis&Dane, I'm sorry to hear about being stuck in AP. I certainly hope you're out of it and on your way soon.

Victor, sounds like you're all set. Congrats to your fiancee for getting her package from the embassy already. smile.gif I just saw a commercial today, actually, on how the USPS charges a flat rate for their boxes, regardless of weight. Guess depending on how heavy all of that paperwork is (which I imagine would be a lot), that could certainly be the best way to go.

I already stole all of our evidence from him while I was compiling our package, heh, and every couple of months or so I'll have him send me a copy of his phone bill, credit card statements that pertain to our trip, etc. So we don't have a whole lot to ship when it comes time -- 'cept him (though I don't think he'll fit in a box... whistling.gif ).

Though, next week when I'm there, I think I'll have to pester him to call for a copy of his tax transcripts, so I can bring them home with me, along with the I-134.

No idea. All of our status changes/touched occurred prior to receiving our NOA1 hard copy, so we weren't signed up for email updates then.

Once again, there's a difference between how it should be, and how it is. I check my email hourly, but I still go onto the USCIS website to determine if there's been a change.

It's supposed to do that. If you sign up for email updates, it is supposed to send you a message each time the file is updated.

Apparently, it's broken. Some get it, some don't.

Additional processing at NVC could easily mean that either one of your names were closely matched to another in the system, so they will be thoroughly investigating it to ensure that neither one of you are flagged as a risk. I don't if being bonded plays a part, though I have a vague recollection of someone on the forums here mentioning that it seemed to be the only thing to spark AP for them that they could think of.

Having said that, I don't believe you will receive any information from them as to why you are in AP, unless it results in a denial.

Unfortunately, yes, it is a delay.

It's alright, at least I know they have received it. I know there are alot of people that have waiting for weeks just to get their NVC case number. Thank God for everything. innocent.gif

Yeah, it seems like this whole process is a definite testament to how much patience we all have. I hope it moves quickly through the system for you. Then onto the joys of the interview. kicking.gif

Far as what any of the call center folks have said in regards to how long it will take for them to begin processing RFE-flagged files... Just remember, we all know they're full of ####### and you can seemingly get five different answers from five different folks... so don't necessarily put too much weight into it when they say it'll take xyz to continue work on your case. You could be pleasantly surprised.

Guys I checked this morning and I my case status says:REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD sad.gif helpsmilie.gif I am going through everything but I dont understand wat else is needed!

*hug* Well, as we've seen, it could be something as simple as a box forgotten or mistakenly checked. Hope that's the case for you, and may it be quickly received so your file can be processed along.

Well, TomandHongyan, maybe this will be a good week for both of us.

And I heard that too, that certain employees were allowed to bring home cases and work at their own pace, due to size limitations at the facility. No idea if this is still the case or not, but I can't imagine any other scenario that would have an employee logging files on a Saturday or Sunday.

VSC screw up on RFEs - Immigration Information

Stuff like this is what gets me, where, like you said, it's where no one is accountable for anything.

Take it from me, doesn't matter how far you go past 5 months, there is very little you can do in the way of making something happen.

That is the true wonder that is USCIS, they will take their sweet #### time and do it as they feel, if you call them, you just as likely to get a "your case is being processed" as you are a " You're in security checks call back in 180 days" I am convinced that even USCIS doesn't actually know what they are doing...

Still nothing, Mara?

I wonder, when you're transferred to an IO and they pull up your information, does it show up as a touch in the system?

I hope you all receive good news very soon. smile.gif
