Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Hey everyone. I havent been online lately. My soon to be sister inlaw and I have had a heck of a time trying to find her a nice simple brides maid dress. We finally found one yesterday, after 3 days of searching. Now my sisters van has broke down and she doesnt know if it'll be fixed in time to come to my wedding Which means I am out five members of my wedding party ( my sister is my maid of honor. brother inlaw is a grooms men, one niece is a Jr. brides maid and the other is a flower girl, then my nephew is a Jr. grooms men. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with this wedding planning. Our minister (a friend of the family) had a stroke the other day and now we are not sure if he can marry us or not. Its been a really big headache planning our wedding. I am hopeing that my sister and her family will make it. I am glad to see everyone is doing well. Valerie I am so glad you are alright. What a rocky start you guys had. Glad you both made it home safely. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	We took our son out trick or treating and there was what looked like a 14 year old girl dressed up as a play boy bunny and two boys dressed as slutty girls with her. It was a little disturbing, not because the boys were dressed as girls but that they were dressed in so little clothes. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Dont worry Vero, it will all work out. With how hard it is on everyone these days, I am sure they see a lot of people who dont live on their own. Maybe you can get a letter from his parents stating that you both live in their home..... dunno if that will help but it couldnt hurt. Some times I wonder the same thing. Would this of been easier if Chris had just moved to Canada. It doesnt really matter now tho. We are here in the states and put so much energy and money into this, there is no turning back. Alex is being a pirate for halloween. Chris was able to work in the morning on Sunday instead of his normal night shift, so we can take Alex out trick or treating. Last year we were in Canada for halloween and it was so cold and wet that Alex cried when I took him out. So we went to two houses and then came home cause he was much happier in the house handing out candy to all the other trick or treaters. Its nice now that we are here cause it doesnt get as cold. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	We went and applied for my SSN card yesterday. I was finally in the system but they had my name wrong. They have it as both my first name and middle name as my first name. How retarded is that? You'd think with all the paper work we did, they would get my name right. The guy said it wasnt a big deal to him so he processed it anyways. Then the printer wouldnt print out a recite, so he told us he'd mail it to us once it let him print it. Hmm alright. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We went and got our marriage certificate on Saturday. The lady wrote down that I had a U.S. passport and put my visa number beside it. I hope that isnt a problem. funny thing is when we were sitting waiting for the woman to be done typing up everything, there was a guy there that was asking about how to get his canadian citizenship. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	This is cool, looks like we will journey together til the bitter end I haven't POE'd yet. I'm POEing Oct. 19 and wil be getting married in late Novemeber. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	My POE went great. took an hour and was only asked if the info on the papers were correct. then she called me back up to get my finger prints and photo. then of course when she was finished I had to pay them the six dollars for the I-94 and collect my passport. The one guard that was watching over the womans shoulder said something about Alex needing a visa and the lady told him no he doesnt need one, hes already an American. I POE'd at the Ambassador bridge between Windsor Ontario and Detroit Mi. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Alright guys, after 3 weeks of being annoying with it, I am going to send my AOS this week, for SURE! Yeah! To all of you who have not started yet, don't worry, it's not that hard! And I got a lot of tips from Kimbear so if you have any questions, write them down! I probably already have asked them all! And thanks nickbits too! How's everyone doing with everything? I finally got rid of my car this weekend, after realizing that it would be impossible to import it. And I got an amazing ....(drum roll).... 200$ for it! Haha! I'm bying drinks for everyone! Congrats Vero, you must be excited to be able to send it off finally!! Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	My POE went great. took an hour for them to process it. Didnt seem that long to me because I had my son keeping me busy. I had him wearing his proud to be shirt. It has the canadian and american flags together and says "proud to be" above the flag. Boarder people were surprised he was already a citizen. She asked me to check and make sure Chris' address was correct on the forms in the "do not open" package and then called me up for finger prints and picture. that was it. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Got married last week, waiting for marriage cert to apply for AOS. Went down to the SSA today to apply for her SSN (2 weeks after POE). Still wasn't in their system (grr!!) and they sent it for manual verification. We POE'd at the ambassador bridge. If anyone goes through there, might want to give it more than 2 weeks to apply. Congrats on getting married!! I'm so happy for you guys I'll be POEing at the ambassador bridge and I believe J&J is too, so thank you for that tip. Canada	I'm highly annoyed	yes it does feel like a kick in the face. I'm starting to get over being so mad.... still a little tho. Flames, I have thought about that but I couldnt do that. I'd feel horrible turning in my friend. Like I said, I'm not mad at her. She took the risk and it paid out for her. I am just mad that immigration isnt doing their jobs well enough. Makes me wonder why anyone cares about laws and rules. I was scared of being banned from there and so I did things the right way. Also because I'm an honest person and hate lies. I would just feel terrible for cheating the system and knowing I was dishonest. that is not the kind of person I want to be. She has only been doing this for a short time. she got married in May. She didnt have to be away from someone she loves for over a year. Canada	I'm highly annoyed	So I've been talking to this girl for a few years now that lives in New Zealand. Well she started this relationship with someone from the U.S. in 2008, they met each other once in person, then they broke up. A year later she is talking to this other guy from the U.S. and they are a "couple" even tho they have never met each other in real life. She knew I was going through Immigration with Chris and started asking me questions about it when we just started our process. She asked me how to go about everything and I explained it all to her and told her about this site. a few weeks later she tells me about how shes going to get a visitors pass (or whatever they are called) to go visit the U.S. and then she will get married and stay. I told her this was not legal and she could get in serious trouble for doing it. Well she ended up doing just what she said she was going to (keep in mind this guy shes going to marry is someone she has never met in person), gave her landlord her month notice, sold all her stuff, started paying off debt and packed up all the rest of her stuff. She gets to the states and finds out this guy she "loves" wasnt who she thought he was (big surprise) and breaks up with him. She then says that she realized she loved the other U.S. guy sense they met, that she only had a little time left on her visitors visa and that she had to get married quick. So this guy goes to the state she is in and they get married. She applied for AOS and her interview was today. Apperently they were alright with all of her stuff and lucky her, she gets to stay and be with her husband. She got her work permit a few weeks ago and her SSN card the other day. I am so annoyed that immigration is so freaken stupid and that someone who clearly came there just to live and cheat the system gets to stay. No problems for her what so ever. GRR!! makes me feel like all of us who have done things the right way are complete fools. All this time away from my fiance... all the time he has had to miss with OUR son, His first steps, his first words etc. makes me so upset. My fiance had to miss two and a half years of our sons life because we were fool enough to do things the legal way. I am not mad at my friend. She took a risk and it paied off for her.
