IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestions on wife's last name
Ok i have a question, it's about my wifes last name, she signed the G-325 with her maiden last name. in D.R everyone is born with two last names their fathers followed by their mothers, and that's their maiden last name until they get married, when they get married they keep the fathers last name and replace the mothers last name with their husbands. the thing is i don't see in either her birth certificate, or our marriage certificate that her last name has changed to mine.. now im a little worried because all of the papers she signed were with her maiden last name. i have no idea what is right or wrong, also i don't know how her passport last name will be. do i need to get her to sign all those papers again with her married last name

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures2nd checklist =(

Wow its really a difficult process for couples, and it seems tgat the faster you want something to get reviewed or finished the longer it will take, and thats exactly why i do not want to go untill i have interview date... i dont know how el consulado is in D.R but i am really hopeing for a may interview

Ok im kind of confused now because i called the NVC today and they told me that they have reviewed it and that it need corrections again (sigh... :'( ) but the rep seemed a bit lost when he siad that. I didnt feel like that was concrete so i wait about 1-2 hours and called again. But this time a lady told me with complete confidence that my checklist was still being reviewed.... so i dont know what to think now.... does anyone know if this is normal or am i screwed with another flippin checklist

P.S the supposed checklist has not arrived yet...

I was really hopeing for a interview by the end of May :-(

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresname change question
I recently got a checklist for my I-864a and sent it back the same day, but when i checked the copy i had; i noticed my wifes last name (only one person is on my affidavit, my wife) it was her maiden last name, but she just recently changed her last name to her married name... when i first filled out my I-864a my wife was still using her maiden name thats why i left it like that on my I-864a

Now my question is.. my checklist just arrived today at NVC. Do you think i will get another checklist requesting i change her last name on the I-864 to the one he currently has?..

I just read reviews up to 4 years back, it seems that people who sent in proofs to NVC, or dont have a big age difrence have a less harder time than others, hope this is true... because i fit into those two categories

Oh yea, without a doubt i will be with my wife at interview, i already bought my flight just waiting on the day :)... i will be arriving about a day amd a half before interview =/, just because i want to be able to come back to the states with my wife..

So it dosnt seem to fast, or will make for a CO to get suspicious. (Marriage is 100% legitimate, we married for love not convenience)

Thanks, its just that i feel the consulate will probably find our case kind of suspicious due to everything i posted above.

i have looked at alot of pages but only a few actually have reviews none of which are recent...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI am just wondering on interview...

Hello everyone, i recently got my interview date (after 3 checklists!) and i was wondering what kind of questions should i expect disregarding the obvious "how did you guys meet" i know there is no way to know the exact questions that will be asked, it's just im a little nervous already, and i would feel a little more easy if i saw a few questions that might be in the ball park of what they might ask, pertaining to my case

Here is a little bit of info about me and my spouse (wife)

  • started talking to her on facebook in april 2012
  • became a couple in may 2012
  • we chated at least 3 times a day from this point foward (Dominican Republic internet is prepaid so we talked at certain times when funds were available)
  • i went to the Dominican Republic to visit my now wife in June 2012 took about 23 photos
  • Starting in late may (2012) we started talking about twice a day by telephone (and still do till this day at least once a day)
  • kept talking to her (on facebook) as soon as i got back from my june 2012 visit, till about september 2013
  • Talked to her for about 2 months off and on, on Whatsapp (again when funds were available)

  • Went on my second vist to D.R in December 2012 to get married (Yay!) stayed for about 2 months took approximately 150 pics
  • at this point (september 2013) we no longer talked on facebook, and also about 2 months later we no longer talked on whats app (she got bored of using them, wasted a whole lot of her balance lol), so we talked twice daily on the phone after i got back to the states
  • April of this same year (2013) i sent my i-130 out
  • Went again in July of 2013 to visit wife
  • Again daily phone conversations every single day

my last trip was this past april (2014) to visit one last time before interview

Other:

We have no kids

i am 23 years old my wife is 21

my mother is our affidavit

i sent TONS!! of proofs to NVC with IV packet, all pics of wedding, me and wife going out or just relaxing, pics with me and wifes family, wifes family and i hanging out with wife and i, money reciepts (i send my wife $100.00 bi-weekly still send them till this day), letter of bonifide marriage, from my mother, and brother, and one from her mother, and her friend, all passport stamped pages of my trips to D.R.

I plan on taking more pictures of my april (2014) trip to interview, and more money reciepts that i send her...

Well im sorry for all the reading, but that's basically me and wife in a nut shell... so what kind of questions do you guys think will be asked??

Thanks in advance and sorry again for this big post :/

Hello all, my interview is aproching and i just wanted to asl something.. my wife amd i got introduced by one of our mutual cousins (my cousin on my dads side, her cousin on his moms side), in which led to us talking on facebook, and we went from there... i heard that COs are very suspisous about thee type of things... should i say something different or keep it as it is, i heard some people siad this and got denies because CO siad they thr couple were cousins, since they both have the same cousin

What i was gonna do for the money recipts was get a individual envolope for each month... the CO has a question aout the recipt, or wamts to see an original ill just look for the months envolope and pull it out... yea im going with a ppublisher document with 36 pages of every trip (untill july 2013), with a bref despcription in the bottom (i will take my april 2014 pics in regular sized photos on photo paper)

It will be on regular printer paper, and actually i forgot to mention i sent NVC a copy with my IV packet, also facebook chats, whays app chats, money reciepts i had at the time, copy of passport pages, and 4 letters from two of my family members and two of hers that states that our marriage is legitament

Yea alllllll that stuff was sent to NVC with IV packet, i will b. Taking copies of them aagain, also any new ones thay i moght have =)

Bonao2013MaleDominican Republic2014-07-11 22:12:00

I printed like 3 pages with 3 photos per page in those photo paper, and printed them in my printer.
When I had my interview at the new consulate last jun 23/14, I saw lots of people struggling to fit their photo albums through the small opening of the window for the CO to see...imagine the CO's face waiting to see the photos.
I brought all my evidence and the photos in an accordion folder, and when i showed her the photos, they were easy to take out and slide in the window opening, like 3 seconds! The CO saw all the pages/photos, and was satisfied, with the presentation and the amount of photos.. Oh and the photos were taken the day before the interview lol

So you`re saying that that would be the best idea?? I mean i am gonna take regular photos but maybe like 15-20. I just wantes to do this to make my life, and the COs life easier

Hello all, so i am planing to take alot of pictures, and money receipts to the interview... the thing is it's ALOT of lose papers and photos, so what i was thinking was of making a type of publisher document that will have 2 pics per page with a brief description of who is in the photo, and where the photo is taken, i estimated it will come up to about 60 pages (these pages will include all my trips until now). Also i would like to do the same thing for the receipts i was thinking of scanning them, and fit as many as i can to one page.. This will make things look alot more nicer and organized when asked to show them

now here's my real question, will consulates say that these proofs cannot be accepted like that, for example they will say like "the pictures have to be in photo paper on a regular photo size", or "we cannot accept these proofs because for all we know you altered them in some sort of way".. would really appreciate your responses, i would really much rather do it this way if possible =/

i am curious to know about a question that is asked very highly the D.R consulate, it's "who does the petitioner live with" does this have anything to do with the person or persons you put on the i-864 or can you say the actual people that live with you... i just don't want my wife to get this question wrong

so basically is the people you live with the people that are on the affidavit form, or is this question not looking back at that form for the answer

i hope i explained it clearly...

So i had my visa interview for my wife, and it was a pain in the ### and after about 8 hours of waiting (interviewed, then got sent to interview seperatley then the final decision). When we were seperated thr cobsulate siad the uscis investigated and we know u guys are related which is bullshit (a mutual cousin of ours who carries both our last names introduced us (my cousin on his dads side her cousin on his moms side) the consulate officer (who was a complete a-hole) gave back my wifes passport and my passport with a white paper (8x11), and all she told me was "your visa cannot be processed/approved at this time" and then left without even listening to what i had to say... what the hell do i do now?? I am not gonna give up!!!!

Hello,
Do both DS 156 forms need a photo attached? Also, my fiance has never received anything from the Manila embassy. She has her interview scheduled, paid the medical , etc. Does she need to do anything about not receiving packet(s)? Thank you very much for your time and help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe RFE Master List
My RFE was because I did not send in a letter of intent from my fiance, only one from me. I had hired one of these "I will help you and guide you every step of the way to your visa approval guys. Before I sent in the application, he had me email it to him to check for errors. I did and he wrote back that everything looked good. Then I got the RFE for no intent to mary letter and when I wrote him and asked him why he did not pick up on this, he said he never heard of the beneficiary being required to submit a letter of intent. That caused us a delay that should never have happened. He is the one that was the self professed expert. This guy took my money and when I would email him with a question, he would either ignore it, or answer me with a "smart ###" answer. Talked very nice to me until I paid him. If I had known what I know now I would never have hired anyone, especially this guy. I know that I could have done it without him. The guy I hired was ezvisa.com.
