US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-156 question 38
Arrested, charged, and convicted are 3 very different things. I dont think it would hurt to send a copy of police report, court documents, etc. with this form. They may ask you for a waiver, but at least you were honest. Best of luck!

I had no staement from bank, had all other evidence. but i think every embassy is different. though, your income and tax history should be enough. Letter from employer is good also. Dont sweat the bank statement.

Hi all again!

I was wonder, does the statement from your employer have to be original or can i copy it?
Yes it is signed and has a company heading.

It has to be original.

Agreed. Must be an original.

....And as far as I understand, the beneficiary should be included in the total number of dependants for the poverty guidelines. I believe that's correct. Dan will correct me if I'm wrong.

US Citizenship General Discussionfake marriage question
This doesnt sound like a very good friend. maybe a long friend, but certainly not a considerate or respectful friend. basically asking your husband to lie. That kind of friend is so not worth the jail time and/or fines. Hell no.

Sounds to me like your income combined with his will be sufficient. An it also sounds like you are within the government's guidelines, being that you'll work for the same company. Good luck to you. You'll make it.

lol. im addicted to exclamation marks!!!

I noticed, it does add to the post!! I used to work with a russian programmer and he used exclamation marks excessively. He would always add them to warnings in programs - like - You must enter your membership number here!!

I tried to kindly explain to him that he needed to leave the marks off as it sounded angry and demanding - but to no avail.

Oh, those Russians. laughing.gif

(Reference to the Boney M "Rasputin" song for those who may not know.)

Always in a hurry? innocent.gif *secretly horrified that he remembers Boney M and that song* laughing.gif

And believe me, some of those Russians still absolutely love that song and that group. I hear it everytime I go there.

Well...sometimes I do yes.

Other times I am okay with it. I try to always see the brighter side and be positive, but its hard. I miss my mom so much. I miss my family. I don't really have any friends or anything here...as of yet.

There are times where I ask myself if it was all really worth it...and the answer is always yes, but its hard. No one said it was going to be easy. I wish we lived closer to the border.

Miss my mom to and my sisters I had two younger ones who looked up to me for Guidance...

.....and now you're married. Which requires sacrifice. At least you're close to your home. You could be half way around the world, but you're not. Sounds like you may be having some doubts about your arrangements. It's not for everyone. But with a bit of strength and patience, you'll see that it will get better. Hang in there and good luck. You have people who are looking up to you. Dont give up. good.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving conditions 30 days prior to GC expiration

To the original poster, filing anytime during the 90 days preceding expiration of the green card is fine. The only "issue" is that you will get your new green card later.

The process takes much longer than 90 days for most. Your receipt notice extends your green card for one year. Its not necessary to actually receive your new green card before the old one expires. (And no need to ask for an extension(?)).

TYVM. This is precisely the answer I was looking for. Well, hoping for. Much appreciated.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving conditions 30 days prior to GC expiration

What do you mean you've "been away for several years"? A permanent resident is just that, a RESIDENT. If you are saying you have been out of the country for several years as an LPR, you might have some problems. LPR's aren't supposed to leave the US for more than 12 months consecutively. And even if you came back for a week or two to break up the "several years", they don't like this either.

I'm not saying you will be denied because of it, and situations do happen where people have to leave for extended periods, I just want you to be aware that it might cause you some hiccoughs.

edit: Looking at your timeline it looks like you might mean "away from VJ for several years", in which case, nevermind!

Away from VJ ;) Lol! But thanks :bonk:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving conditions 30 days prior to GC expiration
Hello VJ,
We've been away for several years. And I guess you could say we waited until the last moment to petition to remove conditions. My wife's GC will expire in the middle of March 2012. Can anyone see any issues this may cause? Thank you.

PhilippinesWhat I am bring in
Well, I'm not sure about the VCR. but the makeup shouldn't be a problem. And since VCRs are only about 30-40 bucks these days, it can't hurt to try. Just let the ticketing agents know when you check your bags that you have such a device in your luggage. Nothing would suck more than to have your bags held behind because they discovered a large electronic device. I would call the airline directly and ask them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportswill new fees create accelerated processing/services?
I have a feeling that nothing will change in the processing order. We may see longer waits because of the late flood of filers in July. Or we may see shorter waits because of a lack of filers in August. Who knows?? I think it could go either way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports*sigh* long wait
I'm not happy to be waiting but this is the final stretch for Sasha and I. We have been waiting already through a very looooong divorce. 2 years. if this visa takes 6-8 months it should be a piece of cake for us. But still the days are endless.....  3 months should be ok for us. We dream of quick luck though.

Seems like a very quiet Monday......... No news about anything it seems. No emails? No touches? Nothing?? Maybe its still too early in the day.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS....WHAT NOT TO BELIIEVE
You know, at this rate I wouldnt be too concerned with upsetting them, because you've already waited sooo long. So, i would call them everyday, just to let them know you're not fading away. Even if they tell you the same ####### everyday. There are logs of when you called. And the squeeky wheel gets the oil, right? I would try contacting that congressman again and again and again. His job is to serve you. Uscis may be a priveledge for you, but the congressman has to respond to you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA1..maybe......?

Ive never had a person not courteous. I've only called 3 times total though.

Regards,

The woman was courteous....just not helpful as in the post above. She basically just said there is no way she can help we, but according to the above post, she IS able to help me.

:( i just want a receipt number....i shouldnt have paid by money order

Keep calling, my man. I feel for you. Just keep calling. Try the RFE trick. Try everything. I'd just keep calling. Eventually you'll get someone who will take a moment to investigate. And if NSC got rerouted to CSC it may actually take until December, though i think that woman was covering her butt.
Jason-SashaMaleRussia2007-08-08 11:59:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA1..maybe......?
Yes, its an NOA1. 08/01/07 should be the receipt date. and 08/03/07 is a touch. Probably cashing a check or putting your case in the computer or something. You were lucky to get this info.
Jason-SashaMaleRussia2007-08-07 12:43:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDepressed..

Visajourney friends,

Congratulations to all of you who have gotten approvals this week eiher through mail or email. This will be my last post for now, but don't worry I'll be still checking everyday and see and read all the good news. I'll post here again once I get my NOA2. I've gotten so many touches last week and this week (everyday) and yet no NOA2. I've called a few times before, but I don't want to do it anymore..just tired of hearing the same sad news over and over. I wish you all the best guys. Lately I see that some of you are getting approvals and it looks like CSC is moving, but slowly. I'll talk to you guys soon to bring the good news, and I hope someday I will. God bless and if I may claim to be the one who got touched several days in a row.. hehehe.. :( thanks for your support. :crying:

I would call NVC and see if they have your petition yet. In our case, that's how we found out we were approved (see timeline below).

Congratulations on passing your interview!
