I found it interesting that Page 4 of the instructions has a place to fill in the wedding date. blink.gif but earlier in the instructions they make it very clear to NOT set a date for the wedding.


We don't have a wedding date......then I guess we will have to make it up, right? blink.gif

I have no idea what one would do about that space. I guess you would either leave it blank or something like "To be decided". Hmmm. i wonder if Moscow sends the same instruction....

No, I'm pretty sure that passports are not processed in the same places as foreign visas. These are the only 2 addresses I found for Passport services. Funny thing is neither of them are New Orleans, as that's where mine was issued.

Well, my passport was issued from New Orleans. They definitely don't process US passports and visas in the same places. However, it is an interesting idea you have. When I saw the clip on FoxNews tonight about the passports, i immediately wondered the same thing. Hmmmm. Wish the media would have asked this question to the government.

Well I think I know what the hold up was on my case. I received today when I got home a letter from the NVC saying that we were approved and is being forwarded to the embassy in Kiev. The approval letter had my old address on it and had a date of letter Aug 17, 2007 and was in a regular hand written envelope send out on Aug 31.
I was touched on June 19 and that is right around the time that changed my address. The NOA1 is May 9. So It has been sitting around but who cares I have it now. Still don't have the NOA2 but it looks like the letter might be in Kiev this week so can make her interview. All in all they skipped right to the NVC and interview and never received a NOA2. Yes I am very happy but this puts a new twisted on the guessing game on ####### are they doing out there and how long is it going to take. The answer is no one really knows so all I have to say is sit back don't worry and wait. I personally just gave up and said it is what it is.

Not sure what to update my time line is cuz i still dont have the NOA2 but NVC sent it to Kiev. NOA2 must have been before Aug 17?

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with some of the comments made, but to keep myself sane and to understand the scope of what the centers are dealing with, i have to remind myself of this. Looking at all the numbers and time lines can be depressing - but my reality is: after dealing with DMVs (which are also known as RMVs - for those of you in the RMV areas) in 3 seperate states - all of which have random line lengths and time frames - I realize there are good and bad moments; it's the overall result that is important. As I tell my fiance (and he tells me) breathe deep and know that the end result is the only important part. Hopefully, we will all be blessed and moved through to the visa in hand (if no, look for me in Ghana wink.gif ).


On the brighter side, I didnt drop any spots in Zoomie's new list. I think its the first time. kicking.gif

This is where outsourcing would be perfectly fine with me. Hell, I remember when prisoners were making license plates and street signs! Isnt there an organization that could be trusted with this task? And maybe even do the work for less? Poor poor service. Its a very good idea to offer a faster service for petitioners who can afford to pay more. Its a win/win situation.
