If I see any approvals today I will begin to believe they have woken up in Vermont. C'mon Vermont! make it happen.

Finally!! Some approvals. Maybe we're moving again??? Well, congrats to the newly approved. I've been absent for quite awhile but still manage to check for approved petitions daily. As much as I love this site and all the members, I think it was making me very irritable. All the stress from waiting, etc. So, I've cut back on my posting a bit, but still trying to stay current. I really hope there will be plenty of new approvals coming now. I've kinda given up on any chance of being approved in 2007. So, I've rested my mind with the idea of a midwinter approval. I do feel that the rest of the May and June filers will be approved within a few weeks. Hoping.... So, looks like letters are getting some attention. fantastic news. Republicans and their "family values" should really look into changing things with USCIS. Hell, it might even help candidates in the elections. Families First!!

I wrote my own. But I did reference the example here by Wendy. I was careful in explaining that what we really deserve are answers, explanations and forecasts. The waiting bit would be bearable if we had accurate and honest information. In no way did I come off sounding as if we've all been cheated or wronged. Simply we deserve better service.

I think we should first do some online research. Gather as many email addresses for media figures and stations as possible. Post the addresses here. Then, as many of us as possible should write one good email. Send it to each email address. If 50 of us did this it should make a difference and at the least cause some attention. if I didn't have to go to work now, I'd spend some time compiling a list of email addresses for influential media personalities. Perhaps I'll do this later tonight when i get home. Unless someone else beats me to it.

QUOTE (thejoz @ Sep 17 2007, 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Actually I kind of think that actual letters being written might be a good idea as opposed to just simply emailing anyone.

Hard copies are good, they show real interest, intent, and will not be as easily lost among a pile of crappy TV watchers who just want to rant and rave about how much they suck or whatever.

Email is just faster and easier to duplicate infinitely. And you can send them over and over and over again. Daily even.

As much I want to have things speed up and us to be reunited, I wanted to ask an attorney whether it would be advisable to have a Congressman involved. I am pasting the answer I got back below; I do realize that everyone's case is different, hence do not take it as anything more than just information. smile.gif In my case, the Congressman's name is Barney Frank.

------------------------
Unfortunately, you and everyone else who filed a fiancee visa petition are missing
their fiancees. So you can try a call to Barney Frank's office, but I can tell you right
now that because your case has only been pending for 4 months, there isn't anything
they're going to do for you. I think it is much wiser to hold off on asking for Barney
Frank's help in case you need help from him later. Embassies are known to do crazy
things, and we may truly need his help then. So my advice is try to be patient, and
not call his office right now.
--------------------------

Well, I agree with what your attorney is saying, however, I think what the group is proposing is not a "me specific" appeal, but rather a "this whole process is ridiculous" approach when contacting politicians. We just want as many people to know how screwed up USCIS is and have the people who can make a difference hear our voices.

Yeah, agree.
The whole point of a group action is that it is not about an individual case, but about current complete mess of the entire process and about false ,cheap , and misleading information that we are getting as law obedient citizens and customers from their co called "Customer service"

Precisely. we must all cover the same major concerns, in a non-individual tone.

Writing a bunch of letters to politicians and USCIS will most likely go unnoticed. But...a few very well written letters to the right media outlets might yield better results. I'm not at all trying to spoil the mood, just thinking that support from the public would strengthen our resolve. And the best way to make this a more public matter is through the media. Wouldn't USCIS be more inclined to give better information and explanations if the world was watching and not just a few politicians?? just a thought. But I'm all for helping in any way.

A media blitz is most definitley a better way to go.

Makes sense to me. I mean, they can put pressure on anyone. If any of the cable news networks ran a 3 minute piece on this "silent crisis for K-visa petitioners", the attention would spread. And sooner or later Uncle Sam would be forced to cough up some answers. Real answers.

And the best part about this....you can write one very well composed letter in the form of an email and send it to every news/media source imaginable. Save the trees, lol! tongue.gif

I'm afraid that letter writing won't do any good. It would take thousands of letters to get anyone's attention there. We don't have those kinds of numbers, sadly. But I'll bet 100 people standing at the entrance to USCIS's office in Vermont would yield some kind of result. And attention. Answers. That's all we want. Shame we don't have 100 petitioners close enough to St.Albans.

I noticed some of the above (just a sample...) ALSO applied for I-130's. Take #13 Charito and Dennis. Im confused. Aren't I130's if you are already married?????? So wouldn't that make these K3 visas? Doesn't that sort of make the numbers off from the TRUE fiance visa petition? How can someone file a K1 visa for fiance AND a I130 for spouse???? Im confused. Am I missing something here? If you pull the VJ timeline for ALL...it will show the I130's noa1 date then a K1 noa1 date to. How can it be both?

The problem here is I am using the data that people have selected... in all of your examples, the timeline owners have listed themselves as pursuing a K1.

I will see if i can detect and correct the situation, but the problem is as someone else stated, garbage in, garbage out...

Does it really matter which visa they are applying for? Aren't we really looking for approvals of the I-129f anyway? i don't see how it makes a difference. It may take a longer to actually sift through those applicants' petitions, but the length of wait until review should be the same, no?

1     inusah & zee               K1     5/17/2007   9/5/2007

3     marieke & thomas           K1     8/28/2007   9/2/2007

Boy, what a lousy week. And I bet marieke & thomas were not approved by VT. They sent their petition to Texas on 4/27. Wouldn't that have been processed by CSC?

Yes, you are correct. Since they put their NOA2 as 8/28, they fall into the time that TSC sent to VSC. However, looking at all their timeline data, it appears that they really were handled by CSC.

I am going to have to adjust my algorithms to be more complicated, and as such, I will need to mine more data to make better decisions.

Alright, it's Sunday night. Tomorrow begins a new week. Time to get the rest of these May filers approved and move onto June and July. Why does it feel like there are so few August filers? Maybe they all tried to beat the fee increase. And I've yet to see a September thread.

August is looking pretty light at the moment although there will be more members finding their way to VJ over the next couple of months.

2007 K1 Petitions Submitted To All Service Centers

Mar ---- 197
Apr ---- 172
May --- 185
Jun ---- 142
Jul ---- 208 (20% above Mar - Jun average)
Aug --- 39

2007 K1 Petitions Submitted To VSC

Mar ---- 50
Apr ---- 43
May --- 48
Jun ---- 43
Jul ---- 72 (57% above Mar - Jun average)
Aug --- 20

Remember that these are K1 stats only.

Here is my theory as to what is going on. Some of you have heard it before.

I am betting that there was a greater surge in employment based petitions than there was in K-1 petitions. I am also betting that they now have more adjudicators working on the employment based petitions and less on the K-1's than normal. This is because the USCIS service commitment for most employment visas is 2 months or less while they have given themselves 6 months to complete the I-129F's. Given the 6 month cushion on I-129F's, they could afford to slow down processing the I-129F's while they tried their best to meet the much shorter commitment on the employment based petitions.

I am hoping that the employment based petitions will be caught up soon and they will then put more adjudicators back on K1's & K3's. If the surge came in June and July and the service level commitment is 2 months or less, than the employment based surge has to be processed by the end of September at the latest unless they miss their commitment.

Anyway, it's just a theory folks. I am sure there are other ones that are just as plausible.

Good job with this. And a plausable theory. good.gif

Well, I just did a quick search of everyone who sent in their I-129f after September 1st. I got a total of 11 results. But 2 of them obviously provided the wrong dates for their timelines. One of them even claims to have mailed their petition in 2008. Another one claims they mailed their's in on the 1st of October, 2007... blink.gif

Pretty bright bunch coming out of September. I wonder how many other mistakes there are which affect our adjudicated projection dates.....

If you look at the profile pics for TimsDaisy, she has the scans saved there. Her fiance is a Brit and interviewed in July 07. Here's the link:

I found it interesting that Page 4 of the instructions has a place to fill in the wedding date. blink.gif but earlier in the instructions they make it very clear to NOT set a date for the wedding.

We don't have a wedding date......then I guess we will have to make it up, right? blink.gif

I have no idea what one would do about that space. I guess you would either leave it blank or something like "To be decided". Hmmm. i wonder if Moscow sends the same instruction....
