K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?
We all keep drifting down the list......Dropped a few more spots. I guess this was bound to happen as the list gets more popular. I'd be happy just to get out of the 90's. Started at 82. Now 92. <_<

Well, some approvals! Not many but still some movement.

Lyly
Are you sure they said you missed answering all of those questions?? I can't see them intentionally claiming this unless there really was some kind of mistake. Is it possible that you sent them one of your copies that wasn't finished or something? That's pretty bold of them to lie like that. Wouldn't it have been easier for them to claim your petition was missing or something, I mean if they were looking to lie and clear up some space. Very strange. Did you get this notice in the mail or in your email or what? Can you call them and get clarification?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?
Why did I file in July? when I received my NOA1, my timeline projected date was Oct 10. Yesterday it was Oct 21. And today Oct 25!! #######?? At this rate it would have probably been wiser to file in September. By the time October gets here my date will be in March! This process is going to make me a bitter man. At the least, I'm going to have some second thoughts about Uncle Sam's protocol. they need to make a statement and help their customers understand what's going on. Its good business. We have all made an investment with this petition. When someone else is handling your investments, do they not answer when asked? I realize we're talking about the government, but isnt there something that can be done to produce answers and actions? They're not untouchable. we're not demanding approvals. we just want to understand why. Is that so much? A formal response to everyone's inquiries. We need the media. Anyone know the number to Dateline?? :P

I'm still thankful that our petition is in Vermont, even if it does take longer than usual. 90 days is ok with me. 120 is not.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?

Sounds silly to me. That does absolutely nothing. That is what the timelines here on VJ are for.

And NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT, cases are NOT adjucated by case #. Why??? Well, that is why some people that have filed weeks after you get approved before you for no apparent reason. The cases are reviewed like first come first serve basis.

According to this theory of yours, case WAC000000001 will be reviewed first, then case WAC000000002 and so on. Which is false.

People, dont F' around with a govt website. It's not like they dont know everyone's IP and MAC addresses that visit the page. HELLO, its the Department of Homeland Security.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to stay in the dark. I didnt say that each case was processed in exact order. Its an estimate and it does work. Why would it be wrong to search random cases? I don't doubt they know everything they wish to know about people using their website. If you have nothing to hide, what's the harm? And there ARE reasons that some cases are approved more quickly, or out of order. But for the most part they are done in order. You dont have to believe me, was only giving out info. Just relax and go back to waiting in the dark.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?
No no no, this is very different. No phone needed, just your PC. You have a receipt number, right? Well, it looks something like this...

EAC-09-264-52393 (just an example)

The first set of letters stands for the service center. Some say WAC or EAC, etc. The first set of numbers is the year. The second set is the day of the year. cant go higher than 365, right? The last 5 digits are the actual case number. though, I think the first digit in that 5 digit strand is for the petition type. been a long long time since I did this. When you go to the USCIS website, you usually just login to your account probably. Instead, go to "search for case". Not sure if you need to be logged in for this. i dont think so. Give a quick search for your petition. You'll get the same message that you already have in your portfolio, your NOA1. This is where it gets tricky. BE ADVISED...there was rumor a few years ago that this trick was not appreciated by USCIS. But as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with searching for cases. There's no personal info given. But I repeat, BE ADVISED. Do this only at your own risk.....

Now, if you play with the case numbers a bit you'll begin to get a feel for what you're doing. Try changing the day numbers, making that number lower a bit. You can also tweak the case numbers. Its like making a prank call. You know what the local calling code is , you just need to guess the last 4. understand? Eventually you will see other petitions that have been filed and are in the process. You'll find a line where it seems that most I-129f's before this xxxx date were finalized. and you'll get an idea of where they (case workers) are. As a rule, i never searched more than 2 or 3 different case number guesses in one sitting. I dont know that it is wrong, but am too scared to find out. I dont want to raise any kind of alert to their system. I cant remember what was said here on VJ about this back in 2005, but I do remember the group opinion being that it was safe until otherwise stated. I did this a few times everyday for 2 months. And I was able to narrow it down to the exact date more than 5 weeks in advance! no kidding. Sure, most of it was just an educated guess, but the tools were there. If anyone knows anything about this, please give me some feedback.

By the way, once you've found a similar petition that is a week or so ahead of yours, you can add it to your portfolio. You'll see when that petition gets approved and know that yours is only days away from results! ;) I had ten cases from other people in my portfolio at one time, just monitoring automatically. It was great. but I was nervous that it was somehow wrong. Though, LIKE I SAID, no personal info was given. So how is it wrong?? i dont know. You be the judge.

So jason-sasha...if soch is only days away, i have a pretty similar timeline , maybe just 5 or 7 day difference...do you think im close also???????

I mean, you're further along than I am, but from what I've seen this should be your month. You two will get an approval soon, I'm sure of it. Have you ever heard of a trick you can use with USCIS? searching for cases? If you know what each number in your receipt number stands for, you begin to see there's a system encoded. Knowing what this number means and how they are issued will give you an advantage. You'll be able to get a better idea of how far you really are from an approval. i'm still too far off to begin this nifty trick, but while I was waiting for an approval of a CR-1 visa 2 years ago, I used it and narrowed it down to the exact day. ;)

SO AGGRAVATING!!!!! :crying: I wish that the VCS had a daily update to let us know where they are and at least give us something to do on a daily basis instead of being left in the dark!!!!!!!!!

Agree! Would be great if they ended their workday with a short, technical, vague update. Something like...

Petitions received.....xxx
Petitions approved....xxx
Petitions denied........xxx
RFEs issued..............xxx

Or something like this! I'm no expert, but since everything is computerized, would it be so tough to incorporate some kind of automated program to post these figures?? You know, sort them by type, receipt date, etc. Just dreaming. Seeing how many they actually work on on a daily basis would put alot of minds and hearts at ease.

nothing since July 31st! unbelievable! :crying: My estimated timeline is now off track and the wedding has been pushed back... i am so sad today. :(

Hang in there! You're only days away from an approval. You've come this far. Its very difficult to plan a wedding when this process is active. I am surprised you have made plans. Brave. Good luck to you.

Anyone know who Ian and Anne are? They are in the number 1 spot on the K-1 list waiting for NOA2. They're listed as receiving their NOA1 on March23.....March 23rd?? anyone know if they are still active members? Is it possible they have abandoned their membership here on VJ? Maybe they got their NOA2 long ago. Just seems so un-Vermont-like. If they really are into their 5th month of waiting for an approval, I feel for them. Info??

i did some timeline searching and i found them...their last update was on july 11th, so it could go either way...the name is ianuk

:::shrugs:::

Cool. thanks for the research. Yes, could go either way. would be nice to know, since it affects some people's timelines. anyway, interesting. thanks again.

The last time ianuk was seen on VJ was 7/11, but the last timeline update was April. He's never been an active poster on these boards. Since they don't seem to wanna share their updated info with us, I say we kick them off the list

Ha! I was going to say the same thing...but thought someone might yell at me. Now I say we move for a motion to have the name stricken from the list!! Hahaha Always someone tryin to overthrow number 1

Its the first Monday of August. You would think today would be productive for VSC. That is unless they had a wild weekend off. We should see several approvals this week. My bet says 10 approvals this week from this list. Good luck May filers! And get moving so June and July get some attention! :D :P

Double hole punches were just an example, guys. There's more you can do to organize your petitions. At any rate, the only point I was trying to make is that perhaps some workers are more inclined to thumb through a petition that is "easy". That's all. If I was that employee and I had 3 files that were thrown together quickly and 1 file that was professional and simple to review, which one do you think would get my attention immediately?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?
I've heard rumors that if a petition packet is put together in a very organized manner, professionally laid out complete with top-page hole punches, etc that it can possibly be approved on first inspection. Meaning a very quick decision. Its been a couple of years since I read this somewhere on this site. It makes sense that they would approve a "pretty" package that meets all requirements quickly, but I'm not sure about it. USCIS claims that they process petitions in the order they are received. But I think we all know this is not 100% accurate. Nevertheless I went through some extra trouble to make our package a breeze to look through. I think someone from the Discovery channel should do a documentary on the USCIS. Probably only interesting for us though. hmm...
:ot:
There has to be some logical reason for random petitions that are approved so quickly.

thejoz, I think we are right around the same time in our process. I actually sent my packet to VSC 3 days before you. That's probably why i'm ahead of you by 2 days. But I see you have now received your NOA1. congrats!

Dang! I tried to add a quote, but still cannot do it. Oh well.

QUOTE (azezohome @ Jan 14 2008, 02:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
sorry about your situation, and yes you can sign the DS-156 at anytime its the DS-156K you sign in front of the CO.
Good Luck on your interview.

Azezohome is right. However, if there is any doubt you can always sign any of the forms in front of the CO. Unless its something that has to be notarized. Otherwise I dont see any harm in asking the CO during the interview. Good luck on a quick approval and with the outcome of your SO's dad's situation.

Notarized. And it would be wise to make 2 or 3 copies. All notarized. Send 2 to your SO for the interview with supporting documents. If anything should happen in the delivery, you'll still have a copy for sending in an emergency. wink.gif
