K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsATTENTION JULY FILERS!

I sent my I-129F on 7/20. The only thing I know so far is that somebody by name A.Scott signed for for it at VSC on the morning of 7/23. Nothing happened cince then whatsoever. No check cashed , no NOA1 received... Called National Calling Center on Monday twice. Both reps just said a standart line: Due to backlog you need to wait 90 days !!!before you even can call to check on it. Well I guess if it was lost on the way from mail room to the store room, I will know about that in 3 month, and then I could refile, and wait another 3 month to check on it and so force.... What can I say... And you know what ...She said something like - "we received millions !!! of application due to fee increase in end of July" - what a BS, just show me that they know nothing about what is really going on. And if you wanna try to call Vermont - guess what - they do not have any phone number published anywhere but Premium Processing, which does not even applies to K1.

By the way their own posting said that they were registering 7/27 application on 8/10??? Hmmm....did they skip 7/23???? Who the hell knows?

I also asked her if delay in receiving receipts will affect overall processing time, she said something like - "not necessarily" ....Yea, right.....Where are my pink glasses.....

Mine was received at VSC on 7/23. My NOA1 was issued on 7/31 and recieved by me on 8/4. USCIS issues press releaeses and in one I referenced above, the release stated that for I129F petitions received on or before 7/27 had their NOA1s issued. There was a link provided to that publication.

I don't have my NOA1 with me, but there is an 800 # on it that is supposed to be for VSC. I can PM it to you later if you like?

We filed to TSC on July 23rd... they received it July 25th.... since then...nothing!!!!
The Money Order isn't cashed either... wonder how long the whole process will take... we wanted to get married in April NEXT year... :-((((

I'll bet you'll get some news anyday now.

I think its unrealistic to plan for an issued visa before February for any July filers. Perhaps Vermont will be a little faster to approve, but then again who really cares when we're talking about the difference between 90 days and 110 days? I'll be perfectly happy with an approval before Thanksgiving. We are all taking a big step in our relationships with this process. And I think if we've endured these years of waiting....what's another few months? I'm trying not to focus too much on Sasha not being here now and focusing more on the preparations for our future together. Working extra hours, watching a little more TV, spending time with my dog....it all helps the days go by more quickly. As helpful as this site is, I think it can also be what causes so many people to be so depressed. Some of these threads are almost suicidal! C'mon. I have to force myself to stay away from VJ sometimes, well at least limit my online time to about an hour at a time. We've just gotta stay calm and positive. This process can be very straining on relationships. And reading irate posts or frantic posts does nothing good for morale. There's absolutely nothing wrong with venting, as long as that's what it is. Let's try to keep everyone sane. Keep everyone happy and secure. This is a great place filled with tons of people who are helpful and encouraging. Its more than a forum to voice opinions and advice, its like a support group for victims. And sure, we all feel like victims right now. The only way we will win and not feel like victims is through simply surviving. If we dont end our relationships, then we win! So, hang in there everyone. July filers are moving up slowly, but moving nonetheless. Good luck all and God speed! :D :D

I remember a post by Captain Ewok which said that the calculations of the date between NOA1 and NOA2 only included those cases where both dates had been entered and so abandoned timelines did not enter into the equation.

------------------------------------------------

It does not affect it. We ignore partial entries and only calculate dates when both the start and end date in the calculation are present. Partial entries do not affect the statistics either.

Thanks, this is the kind of info I am looking for. Cheers.

I think a good way to avoid such skewed timeline predictions would be to make VJ memberships expirable. When you do a timeline search/sort you notice that soo many of those members haven't even logged in for more than a year. So, if they abandon their profiles after they've posted their NOA1 and before their NOA2, it can really affect our timeline predictions. So, why hasn't anyone (mods, etc) done anything to free up some space here on VJ by deep-sixing all abandoned profiles? I realize this would also delete profiles from past members who HAVE completed their timelines, thus also affecting our averages. But I'd rather lose those contributors than to keep the incomplete forgotten memberships that are destroying our predicted dates. I mean, why even have those dates? They are doing nothing but depressing people and even causing hysteria in some. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something but I thought that these "dates" were formulated by other members' timelines. And when so many of them are abandoned or unkept, it greatly inflates our woes. Am I wrong?

My impression is that VJ bases its projections on reported events, not on how long members who have not reported anything have been waiting. So if the average waiting time for members who have recently received approval from VSC is 90 days, then 90 days is used to project future approvals. The member who appears to have been waiting 180 days because they never updated their timeline does not seem to be factored in.

I cannot promise you this is how it is done but I do know that the average waiting time reported in the VJ timeline section is only updated when there is an approval reported.

I have researched VSC approval times for the past year and it is obvious to me that the pace of approvals has slowed. I do not think that abandoned timelines is the problem because there are likely to be non reporters from every month.

Cool. Didn't know this...Thanks for that.

Our date has been sliding as well but it is only a projected date and only as accurate as the timelines that are filled out... I hope everyone here has filled their timeline in and done it properly (ie NOA1 date is the date it was issued, not the date the hard copy was received :D ).

People are hoping for February - we are *prtaying* for Feb - otherwise we have to go through the whole crummy process again post-wedding on Feb 11th - less than six months til we are married now and looks like the honeymoon is going to have to be Hawaii :D Yay!!! *coughs* I mean uh, damn

Ok - I'm gonna go finish my things then we are going to do some shopping at the Mall and go see Harry Potter :)

Be back soon(ish)!

So I am curious, what is the general consensus on if the noa1-noa2 time lines; I notice that mine went up one day; it's only 1 day but still, I guess I am worried about the consolidation. When I put everything I have read here together, I think it's going to be February before my Inna is here in Florida with me (wow, just saying that makes me smile, I am so anxious). That's not the end of the world and I am okay with that, but still, I am concerned.

I thought I read somewhere on here, someone said realistically there should be no delays because of the consolidation, yet when I go to the USCIS site, the CSC is currently working on JANUARY 13th noa2's, that a long way from July 30th, you know?

what do you think?

Yeah, it seems we're all going backwards with the timeline updates. I've already lost nearly a month since I filed. So its like I haven't made a bit of progress. Oh well. We just wait. At least you have a healthy attitude about it. It will take you far. Moscow's embassy seems to run pretty smoothly, so the long wait will be the one you're in now. Stay positive and try not to lose your head. The distance is killing all of us, and not knowing an exact date drives us all wild. Patience. I've seen a couple of VJ members that run from thread to thread screaming and yelling like little girls and haven't even waited 3 months yet. We have all made investments with our hearts in our significant others. Someone is depending on each of us to stay strong and focused. Good luck to you. God speed.

hi guys!!!

i have a question for you......
is anybody here thinking abt doing a prenup?
i am currently looking up all the stuff i have to keep mind because it will be a marriage with different nationalities. i feel scared, i don't want to make mistakes.... HELP!!!!! :crying:

i dunno abt a prenup. unless you're very well off & are worried about protecting assests for loved ones down the road.

IMO: its kinda a sign of distrust to me. & it could be a little insulting to your SO if you don't approach it the right way. you can always make adjustments later if you feel something bad coming your way. no need to create a problem if there isn't one.

Well said, Smokey! I second that.

I'm at work right now and I just checked my email and saw that my fiance and I got approved. I can't believe it. I haven't even told my fiance yet since I won't be talking to him for another 2 hours.

"On August 23, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this
I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

Woo.

Hope I don't sound like I'm not excited, I'm just completely shocked.

Hey VSC peeps!!!!

I just called VSC and got a nice woman on the phone. I asked her if there was a problem with my petition (via RFE trick) and she looked up my case and said that it has not been reviewed yet (grrr) but she did say that it should be coming off the shelf soon so hopefully that is some good news for all of us still waiting. She did say "it should not be much longer".

So for everyone waiting, hopefully it will not be too long smile.gif

This sounds promising, Zee. Good for you! Thanks for sharing. Your day is approaching..... You sure you're ready? wink.gif laughing.gif

Well today i feel very impatient. It has been 105 days and my adjucation date is growing every day on my timeline. Why i dont know. Ive called USCIS three times and they tell me it may be a couple more weeks. Ive been really good about not getting upset so far and i will continue to be positive, but really the only touches that i have had is from the calls i have made. I am positive that this will be the month it would make a nice birthday present. Im not so worried about the petition because i had my lawyer put it together hoping that the money i paid will keep me out of RFE land. Still just the wait is making it uneasy at times. It's funny how during the first couple of weeks i was so relaxed thinking, it will go by fast....but little by litle my days got longer and longer...thats whe i really started the stressing!! Thats when i just started reading and learning more about the process and how important it was to be prepared for the interview..with documentys, proof etc..... When i did this preparing it easily killed about a month to two months of the waiting time...I read and took notes, now i feel comfortable that im going to be ready for the interview and not rushing at the end...that is when i get my NOA2 blink.gif

You know, I think that's why so many VJers are successful. because we have so much time to prepare. I'm not even going to begin gathering all the needed documents for the next step for at least 3 or 4 weeks more. Byron, you are like 7 or 8 weeks ahead of me in total waiting. I'm sure I will soon get to your stress level. But I wont allow it to affect me until I've been waiting for 10 weeks. Otherwise, i'll be bald by the time I see my Sasha next month. Isn't stress lovely??? but, Byron, you should be getting very close. I'm watching you closely everyday and I'll be the first one to scream when you get an approval, my friend!

I know of at least 3000 people from New Orleans who still need jobs. (that's just a jab at FEMA) Ok, so temp-work in Vermont is a little different than Big Easy lifestyles. Shoot, those poor people in Vermont are processing thousands of people who want in....meanwhile they just want the hell out! Seriously though, is there much to do in Vt? I really dont know. Perhaps they should be more productive than the employees in California. Less hangovers, long nights, etc. Although boredom can drive people to drink too. Hahaha. Dont mind me, just killing time. :jest:

Sorry to here that...I think we have new additions on a regular basis...maybe that explains the slow down...

Yup. People update their timeline later; find this website later; etc.

From the adjudication rate, it appears that the receipting update issued on August 10th is downplaying the actual slowdown.
http://www.uscis.gov...Times081007.pdf

They announced VSC is still 2-4 weeks behind receipting a number of application types. This backlog started in May, and was severely underestimated. I hope VSC will be able to recover soon, and crank out NOA2s like they did last year at this time.

I remember when I filed for a CR1 visa in early '05. Took only a few weeks. Those days are long gone, I'm afraid. Well, it could be worse I guess. I was sure we'd have some good numbers of approvals this week.
By the way, the whole CR1 thing is a long story. Its noted in "our story", if you're wondering.

Question Bill y Bella....i got my NOA1 on May 21...which should i consider my avg...85 or 96??

I know this is not what you want to hear, but there is not much difference between 85 days and 96 days in the overall process. If I had to pick one, I would say that the 85 day group is the closest match to you since that is a group that contains only petitioners who received NOA1´s in May. However, this is not exact science because there are so many variables and of course there have been many changes recently. By this time we all know that VSC is slowing down.

I believe it is conceivable that you might receive your NOA2 at any time, but it is also possible that you might wait another 30 days. I assume you realize that VJ projects your NOA2 for 9/7. If I were you I would try to relax and be content with the fact that you will probably see a decision soon.

We are both lucky that Bogota schedules interviews much more quickly than some other embassies. If you get your NOA2 between now and early September and you hustle, you can have your interview and visa in hand by the end of October. That puts you in much better shape than a lot of other people who don´t complain a lot.

Best of luck!

So true. Dude, Byron, no offense. But you really DO complain, yell and cry alot. You really need to chill out some. I think most would agree that you're like over the top with your emotions. Every post you make is punctuated with several exclamation marks and question marks and tears, etc. 85...96...whats the difference, man? Try to remain calm. Like I said before, your girl is counting on you to be a strong man for her and your unborn child. I really dont want to upset you, but your emotions can also upset other posters. Relax, dude. You've known your girl since February and its clear that you love her. We all know this. We all wish you a very speedy outcome. It will come. I promise. Now, buck up and grow a set. Peace.
