QUOTE
Hi everyone my names Rob, fiancee is Jin, hope everyone is doing well. It looks like it is avaraging around 110 days for Noa2 at the moment, but its creeping up more towards 120 for the may folks. i predict most people will be looking at 120 + days soon.
Sucks but nothing we can do about that, hang in there it will pass and we will all soon be with our loves.

Thanks Rob & Jin we know that only patience will do here. I think me and my fiance are probably the oldest here so I just wanna still have my teeth and walk without a cane before we start slipping downhill at the speed of light. I want to fully enjoy my sweet man you know like take quiet walks together, dinners out and then turn in each night at a respectable hour. whistling.gif yes.gif wink.gif

I was wondering when we'd begin seeing cases that were given a bit of trouble because of the fee change. I'm sorry this has happened. Best of luck to you.

I think we all need a break from this site (including myself) stress levels are waaaaaaaaay too high in this forum. My prescription to all of you guys is to take at least a one day break from VJ, do something distracting like go out with friends or exercise or something, and come back refreshed.

I know that's what I'm doing! Have a nice weekend everybody, Peace & Love.

wink.gif

You are probably correct. This site has been a savior to all of us, but can also cause us to become emotional monsters. Sasha has told me in the past that we should leave this website alone for awhile. She's probably right also.

While i love this website and it has been extremely helpful to me it only shows a small percentage of what is going on in the K1 world. I know of 3 couples all of whom I have spoken to - 2 from my area and one from NJ who went took the K1 route within the last year all from SYRIA - who had their fiances in their arms in 3-5 months. One even with an RFE.... if you notice there are only 4 or 5 couples from syria not exactly a grand census to gather statistics from .

But again I appreciate your opinion and appologize sincerely if i have upset anyone.

In early 2007 VSC issued NOA2's in less than 30 days. Now it is 115 days and climbing. So the processing time of your friends is irrelevant.

Funny thing about asking for opinions on this site. People tend to give them. And the vast majority of people feel that it would be a mistake for any July filer to book a February wedding, let alone one who filed at the very end of July and has a fiance from Syria. I suggest strongly that you take their advice.

If not, make sure you buy the plane tickets now also. No sense waiting for your visa to buy those either. And don't worry about those people from April who are still waiting for approvals or people that got put into administrative review and have been waiting years for a decision. That could never happen to you. Their fiances are probably from some part of the world known for being a home to terrorists. I am sure that does not apply to Syria. And the nice lady in the embassy will certainly put your file in front of everyone else's because she realizes the extreme importance of your situation. Yes, there is that small matter of the 1,000's of desperate refugees from Iraq who are currently in Syria and trying to get to the US but darn it, they wouldn't let that interfere with your wedding plans would they?

The point is, there are a lot of things that could prevent your fiance from getting his visa in time for a February wedding.

Sorry to be sarcastic. I blame my parents for my poor manners. innocent.gif

good.gif You took the words out of my mouth! I think she's in for a disappointment. Also sounds to me like she made her mind up and the opinions she asked for earlier do not matter.

Good God. It's like every thread in this section has turned into wedding forums. I don't want to offend anyone at all, but isn't it a little crazy to plan weddings now? All it takes is an RFE or 2 or 3 and some unfortunate souls will waste plenty of money and tears. I hate to say it but I foresee some unhappy ladies in late winter early spring, 2008. Though, i certainly hope not.... Remember, you will all have 90 days.

Very true! We have a much higher activity level than other months in 2007. Per day, that is. Not overall. Probably because of the supposed flood of filers in July.

So if I file in July and they transfer my case to California Service Center in August does that make me now an August filer?

I should update my timeline too because I just filled out changes of address online this past week for my applications.

I always thought it went by the NOA1 date. The date that is printed in the NOA1 "receipt date" box. Also would be the same date as the USCIS website gives. But lately there seems to be 2 other arguements. The date the I-129f was mailed, and the date the I-129f was accepted by USCIS. Seems to be a big grey area there. In your case it could probably go either way, depending on who you ask. But in my opinion you would be an August filer only because your NOA1 date is obviously in August. I dont really know, but good luck to you.

its pretty much impossible to get the number from a money order, although you can go online and see when it was cashed. or you can call the toll free number for which ever money order service you used. follow their instructions and you should find out when its cashed. then you'll simply have to wait for delivery of your NOA1. Good luck to you!

Just a little useless info. I work as a waiter in Williamsburg, Virginia. Believe it or not, its one of the most lucrative spots in the country to hold such a side job. Most every waiter here has a second, primary job. A few of my coworkers are in fact law degree holders. And a few of them specialize in immigration law. Before I began this journey they each told me the same thing...."save your money" "immigration law is an easy cash cow" "anyone with a brain can be as successful as an immigration lawyer" , etc, etc. Most will agree that we have the same advantages as any immigration lawyer, but only when the case is legit and cut and dry. My divorce lawyer was almost my new fiancee's immigration lawyer, but he told me the same. I think I'm in the wrong business! laughing.gif

You wait tables with immigration lawyers? Does your doctor work there also?

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to see my lawyer waiting tables. laughing.gif

Most residents of Williamsburg attend the College of William and Mary. It is known for its law school. And also known for graduates not getting out of the hospitality industry because the money is too easy. Sad, I know.

Ok, i just saw something a little bothersome... I have a lawyer for our K-1 visa, and there's a place on the lawyer's site to look at the progress of everyone at the law firm's K-1 visas through the VSC... Since my application was submitted towards the end of July, the law firm estimates a 60-90 waiting period for my NOA2. Anyone who's submitted an application in August has a waiting date of 150-180 days... YIKES! I never actually did receive a paper copy of my NOA1, does it say on there an "estimated waiting time"? I'm just wondering where my lawyer is getting these estimated waiting times.... unsure.gif

Perhaps they are getting their data directly from USCIS's website. They claim to be working on cases received in mid February. But we all know that's just to cover their butts!

There are 57 July filers who currently have Nebraska or Texas on their Visa Journey timeline.

Since all of these petitions are being adjudicated in either California or Vermont, it seems to me that VJ statistics and projections would be more accurate if all the timelines showed either California or Vermont as the service center. As it stands now, any USCIS actions on the Nebraska and Texas petitions will not have any impact on the projections of CSC and VSJ petitions.

I believe the hard copy of the NOA1 shows where the petition is being adjudicated.

Does anyone else think it would be better for all of us if members with Texas and Nebraska petitions changed their VJ timeline service center to California or Vermont?

I agree completely. If you filed in July and have Nebraska or Texas as your service center in your timelines, please change it to match your NOA1 (California or Vermont). smile.gif Thank you....

Yes, we're at CSC also. We filed our petition to TSC and it was transferred, not that that should make a difference but I'm wondering if maybe the dates are being calculated different for TSC and CSC even though they are both processed at the same place????

I think another big factor is the foreign embassy. You may be at the same service center but your averages (posted here on VJ)should be formulated by a number of things. Like K1 or K3, foreign embassy, and service center.

As helpful as this site is, I think it can also be what causes so many people to be so depressed. Some of these threads are almost suicidal!

Word - I probably won't be here as long as it would take to make lasting friendships (I do not mean that sarcastically, or offensively) because I too, would get caught up in my own impatience and worry. I just figure Inna won't be here until February, but she's going to LOVE Florida's February, coming from Moscow's February :D

Then again, I am going to visit her October 15th, yahoo!

Everybody, be cool - a year from now we all will probably be happy, chillin' out with our spouses, ahh yes...

You know, Tim this is one of my most frequent thoughts....or dreams. Having Sasha here in January or February so she can experience a milder winter. In Florida yours are pretty warm, here a little chillier. But still so much warmer than Moscow. I was originally gonna go see her in October as well, but she insisted on a September visit. She's more optimistic about a New Year's visa issuance, so we split the waiting time as equally as we could. If it looks like her visa wont be tangible until February, I'll visit again in December. Keeps us sane. B)

I sent my I-129F on 7/20. The only thing I know so far is that somebody by name A.Scott signed for for it at VSC on the morning of 7/23. Nothing happened cince then whatsoever. No check cashed , no NOA1 received... Called National Calling Center on Monday twice. Both reps just said a standart line: Due to backlog you need to wait 90 days !!!before you even can call to check on it. Well I guess if it was lost on the way from mail room to the store room, I will know about that in 3 month, and then I could refile, and wait another 3 month to check on it and so force.... What can I say... And you know what ...She said something like - "we received millions !!! of application due to fee increase in end of July" - what a BS, just show me that they know nothing about what is really going on. And if you wanna try to call Vermont - guess what - they do not have any phone number published anywhere but Premium Processing, which does not even applies to K1.

By the way their own posting said that they were registering 7/27 application on 8/10??? Hmmm....did they skip 7/23???? Who the hell knows?

I also asked her if delay in receiving receipts will affect overall processing time, she said something like - "not necessarily" ....Yea, right.....Where are my pink glasses.....

Mine was received at VSC on 7/23. My NOA1 was issued on 7/31 and recieved by me on 8/4. USCIS issues press releaeses and in one I referenced above, the release stated that for I129F petitions received on or before 7/27 had their NOA1s issued. There was a link provided to that publication.

I don't have my NOA1 with me, but there is an 800 # on it that is supposed to be for VSC. I can PM it to you later if you like?

We filed to TSC on July 23rd... they received it July 25th.... since then...nothing!!!!
