Well, if we've survived the past waits between visits, we can certain survive the wait now. wink.gif

Afterall, each day that passes is one day we NEVER have to wait again! kicking.gif

Yes, I believe those periods of waiting help "train" you for Uncle Sam's BS! laughing.gif Sasha and I have endured 6 priods of separation so far. The first was the worst. 8 months. Then we just kinda vowed to never wait so long again. And each wait has gotten shorter and shorter. And we're now finally only 31 days from the interview. kicking.gif

I think if you stay busy, you'll see that the months will pass by fairly quickly.

I am SO excited right now!

We just got our NOA2 today!!!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Congratulations, Did you get expedited processing? Are you or your SO in the military?

timeline.gif

We didn't apply for expedited processing, nor are either of us in the military.

We did send in over 75 pages of evidence, including 6 months' worth of phone records, 15-20 pictures taken over the last three years and e-mails between us and between me and his parents. Also, About 10-15 boarding passes.

I have no idea why we were approved so quickly - I imagine it was by the grace of G-d alone.

I do believe it's still ok to say "God". good.gif Eventhough I'm an atheist... wink.gif

Oh, and please update your timeline for us.. thanks!

Please don't take offense to my post above yours. I'm SO excited for you, but really frustrated with the whole process at the same time!

I must also edit this to say though, that I see you're having your interview in Montreal, and my condolences in advance for the long wait for the interview. That kind of sucks. The NOA2 super fast, but then a wait for the consulate to get their butt in gear!

....hmmm...Do I sense a little jealousy in these words? whistling.gif Just kidding. This just made me chuckle a bit. They may indeed have a fair wait ahead of them, but seems like they got a really good head start. Well, good for them. Maybe this will begin happening more often....who knows?

Thanks Robyn!! It's nice to see a VSC'er who understands what we CSC'ers have to endure.

Good luck February filers. but don't get down. You should feel very fortunate that you all aren't facing a 4,5 or 6 month wait like summer '07 filers.

No offense to you here....but this article started out as a cry for help in the NOA2 waiting. It was originally about work visas and other visas taking priority over family. Personally I dont think it made us look desperate. Sorry you all feel this way. I would NEVER have mentioned names from here without permission. Im sorry you have had to wait so long. I did make mention..but doesn't seem to be appreciated. I could have just thought of myself. Wow...think your doing sth nice.....not my fault the reporter had a different take...we tried...so much for thinking of others...

I know that your intentions were good mashallah. That is not what my point was and I'm sorry if I came across as harsh. My point was regarding the comments to the article online in the comment section. Did you read them? Maybe I could give the reporter the benefit of the doubt but it just seems, as proven by the comments, that the article kind of backfired and instead of making it about the visa process it was made about visajourney specifically.

It's kind of what we were saying about Oprah. Sure people would have the best intentions at heart by talking to her but what will come about in terms of feedback won't be so pretty because unfortunately if you are not directly involved with this process you really have no clue what it feels like.

That's the whole point of vj to some extent. I cannot talk about this stuff to my family or friends in the same way as I can to you all because they can only commiserate to a certain extent and then they reach the point where they cannot relate.

Again, your intentions are appreciated but unfortunately it looks like the message didn't come across that well and I don't really blame you and the other contributers but I do blame the reporter. I'd be po'd if I were you guys and I'd write the reporter my thoughts if I were you.

Exactly. The reporter could have done a better job of telling the facts and not making Wendy sound desperate or used. It kinda came off that way. I have to agree with this.

I don't feel there is anything wrong with petitioners and beneficiaries speaking out for the cause. And I applaud U.S. Wendy for doing this. The article could have been worded a little differently, but all in all it was ok. I think so many people who read the article got the wrong idea. Perhaps her case wasn't the best case for for rounding up sympathy, but at least she did something about it instead of sitting around moping. People look at her case and just think she is being used for a greencard. Their ages are very different, the beneficiary is a man, etc. we all understand that she is suffering and can relate to her plight. I wish it were one of us that wrote that article and not the reprter that actually did. Hell, they should have allowed Wendy to write it! I can't understand why any members of VJ would feel ashamed or embarrassed. You should be thankful that someone is making an effort to get action.

I think he just needs time out meeting your friends. He needs to build a social network and this will also help to better his communication comfort and understanding. It will definitely take time, but I wouldn't encourage him to stay home. He can get hands on studying if he dives into making new friends. My wife stayed home for the first year of our marriage and nearly half of the second. She was pregnant and he was born in that period. I regret not encouraging her to be more involved socially. Hope you won't make the same mistake.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWho is waiting for CR1 longer then 1 year???
Oleksandra,
I'm sorry you have been waiting so long. The reason K-1 takes much less time is because its a non-immigrant visa. Less steps. No adjustment of status, etc. You chose a much longer route to be with your partner. K-1s are moved faster, like worker visas and such. Less to show, you know? Also you should be careful how you word some statements. You wrote...

"In both of this cases i guess they should have hire more people and especially those who is waiting for CR! don't make to wait longer then those who is making only a K1." Only a K-1? You could anger many people in love here. I personally dont understand why anyone would go with a CR-1 or K-3 visa. Takes much longer usually with more steps. Good luck. Wish you a speedy outcome

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow's this for a mess??
Good advice. So, ultimately a decision is made by the Consular Officer, correct? they may want to see 4 forms of supporting evidence or they may be satisfied with only 1. Totality of the circumstances, huh? I take this to mean that there is no "set" minimum or maximum requirements of evidence. each case is different. i understand this. but , should I offer up a formal letter from myself to be included in the Aff. of Supp., which explains this year.....or should I not offer up that info and wait for them to ask? I dont want to make it an issue, just to discover that they wouldn't have......but now with this letter......its gonna be examined. You know what I mean? Blah, maybe I'm just too stressed. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what that step brings. Hey, thanks alot.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow's this for a mess??
Thanks, Joel. I just got off the phone with NVC. The woman there told me to simply send a request in writing, with various info, to terminate the case. She said the divorce decree wasnt needed because it will need to be included with my new K1 case. She told me to call VSC in the morning and do the same thing with them at the same time. Then , hopefully, I'll be cleared for take-off. Cool. Sounds like a solution.

Now, does anyone have any advice about the financial end. As I said earlier in the thread i've had good tax history and income for years. But 2006 was a disaster for me. I didnt work from January until just recently due to an injury. I lived off of my savings and now have very little in the bank. If I begin this process now or within a few weeks, that step in the process that requires my tax/earnings history will come after the new year. They might require 2004, 2005, 2006 IRS info. I can show very little for this year. Will they accept 2003, 2004, 2005 along with my recent pay stubs (which are more than adequate) to show that I'm worthy? Or will I be screwed because it will be after the new year and 2006 will be a must??? I'm a single man who only has his fiancee. not many options for a co-sponsor. You guys all rock! Thanks for the advice and info.

Wow, interesting! I will call to NVC tomorrow and ask if they need me to do this same thing. If so, I need to do it immediately. Thanks alot for the info. I wonder why they kept your case (active?) for so long.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow's this for a mess??
Thanks for all the replies, all! Well, I never notified NVC about my decision to abandon the CR1 visa. In the notice I received for the IV fee bill, it said that if I failed to send in the required documents within a year my case would be terminated. I'm sure it's the same for every case. That year passed back in early summer. I suppose if I cant find any special form or waiver that they require, I could simply submit a letter explaining everything. But i was just worried that wouldnt be the right thing to do. Can I call them and just formally request that that case be erased??? You know what I mean. :) I'm goignt o go through with this anyway, so I'd like to save some time. You would think that a divorce certificate included in my case would explain everything, but we're talking about the Government.

It doesnt really worry me too much that to show my tax history for the last 3 years, if they want it. Those three years are great. Its this year I'm worried about. Perhaps those three years of returns and plenty of paystubs will be enough to prove my income. I'd hate to be required to get a statement from my bank seeing as that account is damn near drained from a hard winter. Does anyone know if Moscow will look past a bank statement if current jobs and earnings, along with tax history are sufficient? Sorry to stretch this issue along. I get so confused with this. Thanks again everyone.

Jason

my god, what have I done? I seem to have turned a serious question of concern into a weird thread. Sorry all! Just want to get through this horrible process with a little assistance from those who have more knowledge. I'm not sure where to find more info on this waiver. And when it should be submitted. With the 129F? Or will calling them solve this? I just dont want to get half way through this and have someone stop the process for more evidence.
