Yea, don't worry much Jacquie. I haven't been touched since CSC got my RFE. I also worry but there's not much we can do but wait even though it gets frustrating. We all want to be with each other since like...oh yesterday? but you'll be okay as long as you can find something to occupy your time. It'll come don't worry. Good luck to ya!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 petition at lighning speed...

What the heck!

Our petition was rec'd by NVC on 31 July and sent 02 Aug to Manila Embassy. The question becomes... Why isn't the NVC processing the petitions? Goodness, they get the job done! By the by, the NVC folks are friendly, courteous, and helpful. I wish they were performing visa interviews as well (wishful thinking)!

Yeah Baby Yeah!!!

Oh, that would be just lovely heaven and music to my ears if they can do that! welp.....still waiting patiently over here...but we're slowly approaching the edge of insanity hehe

YnaYeBa0808 - Let's call on Sunday to check whether they have received our petitions. The number is 011-63-2-528-6300 ext. 5184 or 5185. About three weeks ago, a lady in the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit was kind enough to give me the Immigrant Visa Unit extensions where K1 Visas are processed.

Congradulations you guys!

How did you find out they sent the packages to the embassy already?

Dang A&K, seems we have similar timelines...I wonder what's up with mine :( anyway, good luck to ya!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresService Center transfers

TSC hasn't been processing K-1 visas (for an example) for at least a year now?? Maybe even longer. CSC took over the slack for them.

well that definately sucks...as much as I would love to have VSC's processing timeline..maybe they should have some of the workload too...or build up CSC BIG time to help speed up our timelines. I just hate to have to put our petition on the sidelines again after getting all excited that I even got that ridiculous IMBRA RFE. At the moment the title of the song "wake me up when september ends" is sounding pretty literal to me right now..that is..I wanna pull off a Rip Van Winkle and take a nap until they (CSC) finally does something.

I guess let's just all hope and pray this craziness will end by the end of this year. Thanks devilette and Cassie! Another week gone, another disappointment. Guess it's on to next week *sigh* :(

I've noticed many times people had been transferred from NSC or TSC to CSC....why is that?
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-04 11:56:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWho's actually processing my K-1 Petition?

and expect your NOA1 from California.

Where did you read they were processing petitions from July 10? hee hee. Due to the IMBRA law screw-up (see IMBRA forum), there is no rhyme or reason you can 100% rely on as to who they process first, but you are in for a long wait. Do not expect less than a month. Their published "now processing" date is in early March.

Haha, that must have been my thread I started today about " Service Center Transfers". basically i asked a similar question on why I've been noticing people who file to TSC and NSC were being transferred. Here, take a look:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Approval

Hey all, I don't want to make a huge deal out of this because I still don't feel it's right I was approved before those with recalled petitions, or people who have been waiting since March, but I was approved today.

This case has been approved. On August 3, 2006, an approval notice was
mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice,
you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,
please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswho is left that filed in march???

For you guys who're still waiting...

Woodrow T. Wilson: Patience Quotes
All things come to him who waits - provided he knows what he is waiting for.

Mark Twain: Inspirational Expectation Quotes
A thing long expected takes the form of the unexpected when at last it comes.

I know it's easy to tell people to be patient but it must be difficult to be in your shoes, my fiance and i have just started our journey and the way he's being now with me makes me think we might not get to the the finish line, but you guys who've gone this far, just hang in there and with God's help everything will be ok... (F)

hmmm so your fiance's making you think twice huh? I'm sorry to hear that...at the same time, and I don't mean to intrude, but he needs to straighten up otherwise, how does he expect to make it in your relationship if he can't learn patience. As much as waiting sucks, I use it as a test of our relationship. All I can say to you is to stay strong and hang in there. Good luck in your journey and hope that things do come in due time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHere we go again!!!

awww have more patience... we will have ur NOA2 within this week for those couples with March noa1.

I can only hope your optimism is justified. I keep trying to be positive to my baby, but its finally both of us completely lonely and frustrated we are still stuck on this first step. We miss one another and if there was some sort of 'countdown' we could do, or at least reason for optimism this would be easier. Us march couples really should get expediated at the embassies (I know, I know, it won't happen. I am just mildly venting. I would just be happy to be waiting on the embassy at this point).

Don't worry too much guys, I'm in the same boat as ya'll. Yea it sucks. My baby is starting to get worried about the amount of time it's taking. She's usually very calm and patient but this whole first step we're on is starting to takes it's toll on her. We just gotta keep trudging on and cherish every moment we have online with our SOs. I'm not sure if this would help any but at this point, I'm just pretending that I'm on a business trip and I wait to see her at 9pm before I go to bed and then we chat. Then when I wake up in the morning as she's about to go to bed and I call her to see what she's done during the day and to wish her good night.

Basically all I'm saying is, despite the monotonous and ridiculous routine of waiting, try to concentrate on making the time you do get to communicate count. Better to occupy the waiting time with something else rather than go crazy over the procrastination of the service centers. We all know there's not a whole lot we can do. If anything, I kinda think of this as a test of each couple's relationship. I'll leave the purpose and result of that test to each of you to ponder. So far, it's made my relationship that much stronger. Hope this helps some of you and if not, well...you can throw my words out the window

Again, don't worry too much, we'll get there soon enough! ;) (F) B)
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-03 12:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs it possible to get approved in one week?
Hand down, don't even count on having your NOA2 or visa approval anytime the rest of this year since you just filed. I'm sorry to say that but like everyone else here have said numerous times, because of IMBRA, i would be more safe to count on a year from when you filed. If you look at my timeline, i filed in March TO CSC! it's been over 4 months running on 5. I still don't have my NOA2 and even if I got it within the next few weeks, my fiancee and I still have to wait about 5 MORE months just for her interview. So that's clearly a good 9 months for us. Soooo just sit back, relax and try to find ways to pass the time with each other online or however you keep in touch. It's gonna be a long ride before anything else happens. Good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIt's high time for some approvals, for anyone!!!!!

I just got the NOA2 (approved) on the 3rd of August. Started the process on the 8th of May 2006. The only RFE i got was the form asking if I met my fiancee through an international marriage broker.

Good luck and hope you get your approval soon!

Yea what you got was the IMBRA RFE. Congratz! I'm hoping to be on the same boat here soon.

I'm in the same boat as Gary and other Marchies. It's almost depressing but keep strong, be patient and pray that this chaos will soon come into order. Happy Monday everyone! Here's to another week of hopeful NOA2s.

If it helps any, my uncle works for USCIS in SFO. All he could tell me was that because of the mess we're in, they (CIS) are trying to get everything done by September. Sooo, take it however you wish. Good luck this week everyone!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting on an NOA2...for so long
I'm just about to jump in the same boat as you wolf. I agree with you on the first thing you said. If nothing happens within the next couple months, I'm making plans to see my baby on one of the holidays...given I can straighten out a couple financial issues which shouldnt be too difficult. But yea...I'd be damned if CIS is gonna take our lives because of said incompetence...they wanna keep us apart for so long? F*** em!! There ain't nothing gonna stop us from being with our loved ones!
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-22 10:07:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS site
From what I've seen, I don't believe there will be a list of how many touches you get...only that the date will change when and if you do get them. But like what was said previously, it's random...some people get a lot, some none, some in between but you never know if it's a good or bad thing...the only thing you can contemplate is that they're (CIS) is doing something. So just sit back, relax and focus more of your time with your S/O rather than stressing over CIS's incompetence. Good luck to ya!
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-22 14:30:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAs useful as a paperweight
As the topic says...that's all that CIS is...as useful as a paperweight...only there to hold things down. I called CIS this morning to attempt to check on my status only to get a tiny scare that I might have had an 2nd RFE only to clarify the same boring message I've had since they got my RFE... that they only received it on Jul 18. So then I ask for an immigration officer...she said "I am an immigration officer".....well then...so much for avoiding the customer rep. Then I asked her if she could tell me anymore, she said, "it's all up to the adjudicator blah blah blah..." Well.....what's up with the adjudicator? in a nutshell....why do we even have that number if they can't say anymore than the website? I just want to hit something so hard cuz like so many of us...this is pissin me off!
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-23 11:17:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresALRIGHT THIS PISSES ME OFF!!

This whole process really burns my a**! We should be through this ####### by now..and then I see people complaining cause they have had to wait since may or june. My fiance and I have decided if this is not done by January..then we are going to cancel and then try to have him come to Canada...cause I really cant take much more..we have already been apart to long....sorry I just felt like I needed to rant..thanks for reading.... :reading:

I am having similar thoughts. If nothing happens by the end of this year, I'm serioulsy considering canceling my I-129F, marry my fiancee and try for I-130. Don't know if that's any faster in processing aside from starting over again but this is ridiculous...the way i see it, if things were the way they were last year, all of us Marchies would be at our interview dates by now instead of waiting on CIS's time for NOA2s. Our beneficiaries dont' deserve any of this unnecessary BS from CIS, to say it mildly.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBoooo!!!!!!!!

I've tried my best to make since out of a crazy screwed up process. I've tried my best to give sanity back to the insane. I have no problem waiting my turn. The only thing that discourages me in just the little bit. Is the slow or lack of approvals. At this rate they'll still be processing the Marchers in December!! #######!! They should be cranking these things out like 10 a day or more. Maybe some other forum is having all the luck. Maybe it's just coincidence that we've (VJ) only had 1 approval today (I think). This is where I throw my hands up in the air and say "#######!!" where are all the approvals?????

I just expected to see approvals at a faster rate and needed to vent for everyone.

P.S. I still believe in the within 60 day theory, but damn!! sooner than later would be nice.

See why we are all venting so much. There is no true answers, logic, or fairness. It only gets worse with each passing day.

wolf

I'm buying a Ticket to see my baby too!! I'm getting it for October. I hope to hear something before then. I only wanted to buy one ticket and that was for the Interview. I was hoping for a November interview. At this rate, who knows. The good thing about buying the ticket now is it's cheaper. If we end up hearing something I can always move the ticket to a later date for a small price. If we don't hear anything, ohh well!! I guess I'll have to buy two tickets and go twice. No problem when trying to build a nest egg for a marriage. right?? but I have to see my baby!!

Same here...I wanted to be able to save some money so I can go with her to the interview, maybe spend some time at my parent's old stomping ground, see her family and then come home with her but the longer we have to wait, either the more desparate we become or God forbid, we start to lose interest and faith. To me, it's a piss poor way for USCIS to regulate the number of immigrants.....makes me wanna take my chances and live with her at her place. I'm about to go wailing at something just to hit it and take out all this frustration. Damn...I'm running out of things to do online with my girl. I know she is too. ####### CIS!!! Pull your heads out of your a**es and bust out them NOA2s so we can live our lives sometime this century!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLost hope?

There was a time when I checked the pc constantly waiting for my email notification. I saw a wave of people getting approved over a month ago and that got my hopes up that at any moment, or any day I would have mine. Now it seems that was a fluke and CSC is on strike. I no longer seem to have any expectations other than if I check my email, for it to be empty. No touches in over a month also. Hardly any approvals on here.

Basically, I know it will eventually come. But I dont really expect it anytime soon after having my hopes up and crushed so many times.

(so glad I am going to see her. It helps with this)

Wolf

I'm with ya wolf! I used to be so excited to check my email but now it's like a bad habit and a damper on my day when i see nothing but the same old junk. Someday we'll get it. Though, I wish I could go see her but got no money at the moment. We gotta keep going. Cheers!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat do I do at the meantime after receiving NOA1?

Hi all,

I received my NOA1 last week. Is there anything else that I can do at the meantime? Help from experienced Rio Brazil K1 applicants is appreciated. Thank you all.

Well, since you filed in VSC, you shouldn't have to wait so long since historically VSCers have been getting approvals quicker than us at CSC. So, just sit back, relax, enjoy the ride, maybe start getting post NOA2 stuff ready (I-134 etc) and if you're bored with that, find stuff to do with your honey online or however you communicate...it's a bit of a ride so hopefully you won't run into too many bumps. Good luck!
RaqiwinMalePhilippines2006-08-24 18:45:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresany guesses why no noa2's this week?

Its absolute ####### that nothing at all has happened at CSC this week. I thought approvals would keep coming with more momentum. I think everyone is so disappointed with the screw-up that they're too mad to post anymore!

That's me!!!!! even if I did get it today or tomorrow, I most likely won't be jumping for joy. I'm gonna be more like, NOA2? that's nice...I'm going back to bed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat have you learned from all this?

Aj1: I agree with you completely. You definitely learn to love and trust in a manner that few people seldom experience.

Vartan: I can relate completely, $4.00 a minute to Taichung, yikes that was a bad bill.

If anything, those of us who make it through this should be the epitome of true love. Cuz by the time we're back together with our loved ones, we have already learned what it took to keep our relationships alive. Honesty, truthfullness faithfulness, loyalty and above all else, unconditional love. My parents went through our process the old, long way before I was born. Now it's my turn. If my parent's have made it this far, then dag nabit so will we!

Treed, when i first started calling my lovey dovey I was rackin up $5! Before i knew it, i was tagged with a $1000+ bill!!! how's that for ongoing relationship evidence hahaha!

Hope you get your no2 soon now

sorry everyone my Ro is a perfectionist, I meant to say.

I hope you get your NOA-2 soon now. :D

Better Ro? (F)

Good news/bad news

That really isnt a touch. You must have called the USCIS on this day or the day before. Well its a touch, but just because you called them. THe good news, I think you will be approved really soon from the look of your time line and they are going to start rolling out again!!!!!!!

About calling USCIS...yes and no. No because I called them several weeks back and nothing happened. Yes because I did call them a few days back but given the common statements they usually give everyone, I'm not sure that my calling them would have done anything given the number of other petitions stacked up over there. In other words, because I called, I'm still a needle in the haystack. It would take divine intervention for someone to actually look up a specific file. I just wish for all the chaos to disappear so that the time between NOA1s and NOA2s are back to 1 month like it used to be.

Yea for a while I actually thought it got lost. It'd be really wierd if I should be the first to start the next wave of NOA2s since the initial wave a few weeks back hehe.

Well everyone, it seems another week has passed...but i hope this one will be the start of a tidal wave of NOA2s next week. I'll pray for you all on that! Hang tight!

Funny though...i'm here at work just browsing through my email and *plop* comes two "USCIS-CSSO" emails staring at my face. I think it came after reading a post from someone earlier about how this visa process affects our relationships. Damn...

ok, here's hopefully a simple question for ya.

my fiancee has to fly to Manila to do her interview. From what i've heard from a few threads, the consular officer keeps the passport and sends it back to my fiancee with the visa, am i correct? If so, how does my fiancee travel back home without it? wouldn't she need it for ID purposes? also, wouldn't she need it to fill out any customs and immigration forms on the plane ride over? lemme know if I'm not making any sense. thanks for any inputs

When you say she's flying to Manila, I'm assuming that she lives in one of the provinces in the Philippines, maybe Visayas or Mindanao, right? If that is so, domestic travel in the Philippines like here in US doesn't need a passport. I'll bet she has other ID like SSS card, voter's ID, NBI clearance, etc. that she could use for identification.

Now, if she is coming from another country & will just fly to Manila for her interview, you might as well allow some time so she could get her passport back before flying back to wherever country she came from.

That is correct, she will be flying from Mindanao. I figured another ID would be all that's needed. Just wasn't sure how it all works in the different countries out there. thanks Karel!

Her passport will already be surrendered to St. Luke's at the time of her medical, so she won't even have it with her when she goes for the interview. Make sure she has copies of her passport already when she goes for her medical.

Uhm... where is your fiancee flying from? If it's anywhere from the Phils, she won't be needing to fill out any customs or immigration form. Her passport is not really necessary as it's only a domestic flight and she can use other IDs for that.

However, if she will have her passport & visa documents delivered to the province, that will take a lot longer than having it delivered to a hotel or wherever she is staying in manila.

Hope that helps. :)

wow, I didn't know that she would give it up at St. Luke's! that's good to know. Cuz i know that the interview letter they have on the manila website doesn't even mention that she'd give it up then....at least I didn't see it if it was hehe. thanks silly girl!

Where is she now? If she is in another country, she won't need to fly back to the PI, she will do her interview at the embassy of the country she is in...

she's in the philippines still. sorry, guess i should have said that she was flying from within the country

oh yea...when i mentioned the customs and immigration forms, i meant in the case that she is on her way here to the US. but i guess Roy clarified that part... :D

the passport will be returned with the visa inside when it has been approved. the passport with visa will be attached to the OUTSIDE of the brown envelope, which should not be opened. she'll have access to her passport on the flight to the US.

hmmm didn't know they stick it outside the envelope...i'm assuming it's in another envelope right? cuz i find it strange that they would mail something of such importance in plain view. I'll make sure she knows not to open the envelope. thanks roy!
