Yes it will be.... good.gif

BTW...I was looking at your timelines and I have a question

"December 10 -08 Packet three sent on the basis of having NVC case number"

Does that mean you were still on AP at NVC and you sent all the documents to the Embassy regardless ???

It does! I had even had the medical and we were still in AP.

I was in email contact with someone at the consulate here, and once NVC had given me the new case number, I emailed that to them, and they sent the packet out. There are instructions of parts that you can send back at once, so I sent them the first bits back, had the medical done, and all the other paperwork ready to go by the time NVC sent the case on. That way, once they had the electronic file, and even before the actual case had arrived here, I was able to send back the paper you sign that says you have all the documents and can go ahead an set an interview.

After getting hung up sooooo long at NVC, I was in a bit of a hurry, so I am glad I had it all ready, and didn't have to wait for anything else.

so....another dumb question....I already have an NVC case number which is KEV- something, does that mean that it will be given another case number before it goes to the embassy ???

reason why I am asking is because we kind of "jumped the gun" and already scheduled an appointment for the medical..(US Embassy in Ukraine gives you a download option for packet 3 with a list of documents and procedures necessary for the interview), and set it up for mid March...Also, I started gathering all my IRS transcripts, affidavit of support updates, 1099-s, W2s, the works, proof of relantionship, etc, etc, etc, even though our case is still in AP at NVC... so, with all of that said, should I forward all this documentation to the Embassy regardless of what NVC says ?

If there is time to return home and still make it back and get married before the original 90 days are up, you can ask the consulate to revalidate the K1 so that you can return to the US and marry. The revalidation is at the option of the consulate and the new I-94 will only reflect the balance of the original 90 days.

But there's always the risk of the US Embassy denying the revalidation, which means, you'd have to start from scratch....and I thought the revalidation was only if you didn't enter the U.S. within 6 months....but then again, I could be wrong.

United KingdomItems allowed into the embassy?

Hi all,

My fiance goes for his interview on Thursday (YAY!) and we just want to clear up some last minute things. He plans on taking all of our paperwork in his briefcase (it's a full sized briefcase). These are still allowed into the embassy, correct? Also, he was wondering if he's allowed to take a book to read while he's waiting. Any other suggestions anyone can think of?

Thanks!

No suitcase allowed at Embassy in London...check out this link -> http://london.usemba...a_security.html

I'd still call them and double check.

QUOTE (Dave-n-Oksana @ Jul 5 2009, 11:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Okay, following the advice given here I have brought my question to the all knowing and all wise members of the Russian Forum.

My fiancee has been gathering information for her and her daughter's K-1/2 Kiev interview and she has amassed a large stack of information about what is required from numerous websites (including one known for inaccurate information). She is under the impression that all Russian/Ukrainian documents will need to be translated, certified and notarized.

I thought that they only needed to be translated and certified, but she is adamant and I told her that I would ask here from those who have gone through Kyev.

If I am correct that brings up the other question. How do you tell a woman she is wrong and get her to believe it?? biggrin.gif

Dave

Dave,

Translated and certified (what they call an Apostile) there, but only for certain documents....If you go to the U.S. Embassy's website for Ukraine, you will find a link to the "Information Packet". which contains a list of everything she will need for the interview (Originals versus Copies versus Translated/Certified documents)...I went through the same process...
Here's the link: http://kyiv.usembass..._forms_eng.html

Now, in regards to the second question.....oohh boy, you are in trouble.....but, my suggestion would be, send her this same link. wow.gif

QUOTE (Zip and Barbara @ Oct 12 2009, 05:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We're asking this question only because we have found ambiguous information. We know that you have to pay for the visa at ProCredit Bank. (Kiev Embassy for interview) On the embassy's website it says payment on the day of the interview. Here on VJ's embasssy info it says in advance. So, can my fiance purchase the voucher at ProCredit Bank a week before the interview; or does it have to be paid for on the day of the interview. This is all a matter of convenience. The appointment is at 0930. From what I understand that doesn't allow much time to get to the bank right as it opens, get the voucher and make it to the embassy by 0930.

Thanks again for clarifying things and helping a K-1 noob. Cheers!

I don't know if you can pay in advance.. but we paid at the same day when I had an interview, but we were late and nothing was wrong with that. Actually the bank opens early morning which you will have plenty time to pay and come to the Embassy.

if she has her interview in Moscow but she is being an Ukrainian citizen, you should ask in Embassy in Moscow if she needs criminal record from Ukraine or not? Because in Kiev Embassy they ask any criminal records IF a person lived over 6 months out of Ukraine.

Also, just FYI, in 30 years of extensive traveling, I have lost my baggage exactly TWO times, bit were when my bags went through Paris and myself and the bags ended up in different places. In both cases I did get them back, but just sayin'.

Same here in terms of lost lugagge in Paris...I was in transit though and they still managed to lose it only to be found 2 days later..(I learned the hard way, but now I always bring an extra change of clothes in my carry on).

JFK...no hassle, no problems.
