How I remember about the way of our case from USCIS to NVC, our case was approved on 6 Feb and next 2 weeks we didn't have nothing.. just kept calling to NVC and USCIS. NVC said that never got it, USCIS said that they sent it and we had to call them in a week again. If NVC gets nothing within a week to call again and then they start searching where the case was lost. I think you have to keep calling them.

And today we also called to NVC.. and today the operator asked Joe to call them every 2 days.. Does it mean we are close to the end?!?! blink.gif Before they asked to call on Fridays, today every 2 days..

They told me to ring back in 2 days when we were on our way out of AP, that was on the Monday - when I rang on the wednesday they said it had been sent on the Monday so maybe they can see that its waiting to depart but aren't allowed to say till its gone?

yes, it could be.. I think so.. we will call on Monday and hope it will go out of AP smile.gif

Anyone know how long a K1 medical exam is good for for the embassy in Kiev, Ukraine?

If your fiance is healthy its valid 1 year, if not 6 months. But don't forget that this medical package will need when you start making AOS after marriage.. So count.. When I called to clinic I was said it's better to pass medical interview closer to visa interview. I rescheduled it because of AP at NVC.

Thanks [Joe & Nadya], for your input.

How would the medical exam effect the AOS? Couldn't we just get another medical exam here in the US if the date needs to be more current for the AOS?

My fiancee is extremely healthy so we'll have no problem, but the 18 hour round trip train ride to Kiev is no walk in the park.

Best wishes on your journey..

You are welcome! Jam I will give you one link where you will read all info about next step after marriage and why you will need this medical package from Kiev. wink.gif My fiancee travelled to my native town by train.. he was excited about it laughing.gif 18 hours and our Ukrainian trains wish to be the best laughing.gif

I have heard the police certificate are good for 6 months, any thoughts?

I asked my fiancee to gather everything in advance and she passed the medical exam already.

Didn't know about that the NVC could further delay our case.

I don't have any criminal history but my name is similar to a pop singer's, and I have had 2 traffic citations in the past.

My fiancee's personality test (Brigg's & Myer & Jung test ) is the same as Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Nicole Kidman, Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Carter to name a few.
And I, and everyone who knows her can confirm this.

My fiancee is a real sweetheart that will help make this world a happier place to live.

And I truly believe she is not a threat to our national security.

Would it be possible to make a new forum simply called "Clash of the VJ Titans" where sort of anything goes? All the good threads get shut down just when the poo-slinging is starting to hit fever pitch.

I've seen this topic touched on briefly but I wondered if anybody had knowledge or experience picking up the k1 Visa at the
Fedex office in Kiev instead of having it delivered.

Thanks,

Barry

We picked up my passport with a visa at the main Fedex office in Kiev. It was the easiest and fastest way to get a passport than waiting for a courier at home . You can call them if your passport has come there from Embassy or not.

Don't send original documents, only copies.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusPostal Question

Here I am with another question. :-)

My fiancee needs to send me signed copies of the G-325a as well as her letter certifying the intent to marry.

We all know (or at least I've experienced) that the Ukrainian mail service is late when it is not non-existent. So, what is the best way for her to send these documents to me?

I see that she could use FedEx and, by my calculations, it would cost us $116 to mail the letter. Or she could use MEEST and it would cost $8 and the thing would arrive in 1-3 weeks. I've heard about MEEST from other places but have never used it. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!!!!!

MEEST or Roxolana. But she could use any local Ukrainian post office just to order an express mail. And you will get during 10 working days.

Seems it's back open now.

It looked to me like charles! (who we all know gets along with mox about as well as VV) posted a warning to the extent of "tone it down" and was not only brushed off, but told to stfu. Now, realizing that's just how they play together, it's not that big of a deal but a few posts later when the "debate" of the thread - which was about cultural dislikes (always a TOS gray-area in and of itself) - continued to be infused with low points instead of "debate" the thread was closed.

Blatantly reopening a thread that's been posted as "do not reopen" is a direct violation of TOS and subsequent suspension follows.

Whether or not you agree with why the thread was locked, it was locked, and it was locked because of TOS violations.

so, just because Mox and Charles don't play well together, the thread must be closed?

Perhaps someone would like to quote the TOS violation for which the referred to thread that 'is still open' can be closed? The OP is emotional and argumentative but the responses are respectful, even when blunt, and generally supportive. There is no name calling, insults, baiting, or personal attacks of VJ members - of the situations, yes; of members, no. There is no advice on how to bypass immigration law. There is no stalking, harassment, obscene language, material that infringes copyright, spam, links to commercial websites, viruses, pyramid schemes, confidences breached, nor even posts 'purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle or otherwise instigate an argument' happening in that thread. People are upset because of the emotional and combative nature of the OP who is resistant to information offered, but as has been stated by herself in her post, she does have a psychiatric history and a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome. She is not deliberately trying to provoke people and is upset and puzzled herself that this is happening. So, for what reason is that thread to be closed?

Regarding the closure of the re-started threads in the RUB forum - once a thread has been closed by a moderator there is a proper process to follow to bring a complaint about the decision to the attention of administration. One can expect that blatantly ignoring that process by re-starting a thread that was closed for TOS violations not once, not twice, but three times will have consequences, the most basic of which is the re-started threads are closed and will remain closed until Administration has had a chance to review the original thread. Bullying doesn't change the process.

Finally!!!!!!!!! Kathyrin41...there was no TOS violation on the other thread..I understand there is a process to re-open a thread, just like any other bureaucratic organization. I can live with that.

It has taken 3 mods and yet I still don't have a clear answer to why the original thread was closed to begin with.

Don't forget that Charles WAS TOLD not to interact with Mox. It's an accident waiting to happen.

Bullying doesn't change the process.

I find your constant references to the lass that started that thread as "psycho lady" to be in incredibly poor taste.

While YOU might find her struggles uninteresting in terms of US immigration, had you read her previous threads you would know that she has a mental illness and is having issues finding a way to be with her husband. It could, I suppose, be moved to a different forum. She is trying to decide between the US and UK immigration. While the thread has now veered towards insulting her, it should be closed to open again without the constant personal attacks.

Please refrain from personal attacks in future. You are more than welcome to keep referencing this thread as you seem to find it so objectionable, but the use of the nickname "Psycho Lady" is completely inappropriate, and I request, respectfully, that you cease using it. Mental illness is not something to be laughed at and you are being really rude about it.
