Open an account in BPI or BDO and send the atm visa card in the US. That person can withdraw money thru atm up to $400 a day for a service charge of $2 per withdrawal. That's how my parents sent me money when I was in the US for months.

Maraming salamat sa inyo. Should it be a dollar account? And in my name or anybody in my family will do?

My BDO account was in peso. The atm card should have the visa logo. Then you can withdraw thru any atm machines na may VISA logo din pero syempre, dollar lalabas sa atm sa US.

My BPI account is in dollar pero pwede din peso. Basta the atm card should be international.

here is one pic of us, it is in a motel room in Davao Philippines... motels don't have good connotation in the Philippines. Here it is just a place for lover's short time tryst, minimum stay is 3 or 4 hours (guess 3-4 hours is long enough to get rid of body heat wink.gif )... Now this one here is a motel adjacent to the hotel we stayed in when Rick was here the last time. they have very interesting themed rooms : chopper room, earthquake rooms, room of cards, titanic room, car room, and this one is the cage room or jungle room... we explored some of the the rooms with the help of one of the staff on the last day of our stay (both our hotel & the motel have same owner and i think same housekeeping staff. We were not allowed to take photos but I sneaked my camera in... Had we known rooms were more interesting there we would have opted to stay there and in a different room everyday laughing.gif .. but of course, it was not possible coz my kids stayed with us up to the last day... hmmm, maybe next time wink.gif

here's also a link to our online photo album:

HAHAHAHA!!! Sorry I really can't help but make a comment. Ive been reading your posts dbear....you are really funny!( I know exectly what you are talking about (the motels)! You made my day today! lol!

Hello VJ members,

I don't usually post on here because I am very new to this forum thing. My fiance had his interview back on Feb 27th, and since then we have been in AP, reviewed for issuance, more AP, pending in cairo, no pending in DC...and the rest of the known limbo.

I e-mailed cairo 2 weeks ago and they finally replied saying:

Dear Sir:

The visa is about to be issued and mailed to you by the DHL.

Regards,
Consular staff
ni

Is this real and typical of cairo or something random to just comfort me?!

Thanks all!!

She shouldn't have left US when she didn't have her greencard yet. I think you need to apply for spousal visa. Check the timelines here in visajourney. It could be from 6 months to a year. Depends.

Unfortunately the people that answer the phone at the USEM don't seem to understand the process so I wasn't able to get a clear answer.

You are exactly right. If the visa is changed to CR without an interview then the choice is obvious. However, if they do decide to hold an interview then we are exposing ourselves to an element of risk and it would be safer to stick with the k3.

Ok ninjarocket, I am sure it is not a window for interview. Window X was the window my fiancee and I went at to inquire about the development of our visa. Are you sure there will be another interview for the CR1? It seems to me that you really want the CR but I know you don't want another interview. Why don't you call USEM again and clarify? CR1 is the best choice if there won't be a second interview. Good luck! And whatever you choose, my Congratulations to you and your wife!

I think its not an interview. Window X is the one at the left side, near the finger scanning and I think its a window for Information. It's a Flipina behind that window.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWe should unite and use our numbers to change the system
To be honest, Im kinda regretting what I did. I have been going in and out of US since I was a kid. I still have a valid tourist visa till next year. And now, since my fiancee filed the K1, I can't travel to see him and he is waiting to get a vacation from work so he could travel and come here. My point here is, I could have done it "the other way" but we chose to take the long route. All my life, Ive always been doing "the right thing". I always follow the rules and Im a law abiding person. I believe in honesty is the best policy. But sometimes, it doesnt mean that you will get fair treatment. I have seen petitions filed after me getting approvals. While my case is....well, still pending. Who knows how long we are going to wait. All we can do is hope and pray that the person looking at our papers is having a great day or is in a good mood.

Sorry guys... Im just missing my fiancee so much. I gave him my speech... the i-love-you-so-much-but-what-if-the-person-looking-at-our-papers-doesn't-want-us-to-be-together? I-want-you-to-be-happy-so-i-will-let-you-go. So he gave me the its-impossible-to-be-happy-if-i-dont-have-you answer. So if there's any consolation to this journey, its me and my fiancee getting closer... and holding on to each other more. Its like watching our love story in a movie...we cant wait whats gonna happen next.

Better get the CENOMAR right now to confirm. If they don't have that record, then you are lucky. Next, check if they registered it at Manila City Hall, if not then you are lucky again. But if they do, then you are not single. Good luck sweetpea...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSC Hubby abandoned us (again) - CR-1 Visa and CRBA Approved
another question is... how did the CRBA get approved? You have to prove that the USC parent and non USC parent were together when the child was conceived. Evidence could be passport stamps of the USC. Sometimes they ask for DNA test. Also, there are requirements from the USC parent which are birth certificate or US passport and signature. Seems to me that the USC did not really want to "leave" the baby or he was simply too busy with his new girl that he didnt have time to worry about petitions, affidavit of support etc.

good morning everyone
i was reading some topics here in vj about k1 visa and i really got shocked
well me and my queen will hire an immigration lawyer to file for k1 visa
i tried many times to tell my queen that we can do that and we don't need to hire any lawyers
but while she is so worried girl and she says she can not do that by her own i agreed with her
so when i was reading some topics i found someone here in vj got problems with an immigration lawyer
after he sent a package of documents and many pictures ......to the lawyer and paid the attorney fees all communications from the lawyer have stopped. He doesn't answer emails, messages and he doesn't answer the phone calls.
my fiancée lives in North Carolina and we will hire an immigration lawyer from Massachusetts and she will not meet him in person . we will just send our documents to him and we will pay to him by credit card or money order ...
i have been thinking maybe we can him to send us a copy of his license or his ID
we checked his name in yellow page and stuff like that and we talked to him several times and he sound so good man
so my question is how can we make sure he is a good lawyer and he wont do the same to us???!!
i will appreciate your advice helpsmilie.gif
have a nice blessed weekend

Hi! My fiancee and I decided to get a lawyer since immigration laws and the rules especially in US Embassy Manila change a lot. We looked in the net for lawyers but in the end, a friend recommended this lawyer in New York city. I met him personally during my visit in the US and for me, I want to work with someone whom I have talked and seen in person. He is a very competent lawyer that when I got home here in Philippines, he would always answer my quesions thru e-mails aside from doing his best to make me and my fiancee calm.
I know my fellow vjs are very supportive, after all we are all in the same boat. But they too have a life, that after going through the process they have to move on with their lives. And what happens to the ones left behind? I think every case is different. What works for someone else does not mean it will work for you. After all, we dont know exactly who is looking at our papers. My point is, if you think a lawyer can help you, then hire one. After all, there are other things to take good care of... like your relationship to your fiancee. =)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy end of the road...
Hello guys! Good luck to those who are having their interview this month or next month. Im so happy for you and wish you all the best. Unfortunately, I won't be joining the list. Something happened two weeks ago. And right now Im going through severe depression to the point of getting sick.

Two weeks ago, I ordered CENOMAR eventhough my marriage is already annulled because it was a requirement for the interview. I got the shock of my life when the CENOMAR came... there in the paper, it states that I am married to two men. One in year 1999 and the other one is year 2002. It was a shock because I never got married in 1999. I know the person indicated there. He was my ex-fiancee. I was engaged to him when I was 24 years old but I called it off becasue of a lot of reasons. I remember signing papers but I know it was just a marriage license. Anyway, it was a bad break up. I remember him telling me that nobody can have me because he said he has connections to city hall and he will submit all the papers I signed and make it l appear that we got married. I did not take his threat seriously. Then came the time that I met someone and got married. And then this ex, stopped bugging me. I was married for 4 years. Unfortunately, it didn't last. I was separated since year 2006. A year after, I met someone and he is the reason why I am in K1.

I looked for my ex over the weekend so he could shed some light about this fake paper. He is already somewhere in the US so I can not sue him. My lawyer is filing a petition for the court to declare this marriage null and void in the ground of fraud. Although we have all the evidences, it will still take some time for the judge (3 months) to make the declaration. My next step was to call our lawyer in the US and again I was devastated with what he told me. My lawyer said I have to write to the Embassy to revoke the fiancee petition. Because this "prior marriage" was not disclosed to the petition, I may have an issue with misrepresentation which is a ground for denial or barring me to enter the US. Another issue is bigamy which is a crime in the US- another ground for denying my case. And they might cancel my multiple tourist visa.

Add to this, I think my relationship with my fiancee is now on the rocks. I can understand his disbelief but Im doing the best I can to explain things to him. But I just find it hard to explain because I myself is so confused. Im still in a state of shock. He said something about not really knowing me and suggested to get to know each other first before getting married. That means, all this time he doesn't really know me? But he said he loves me. I lived with him for a month in the US. And last November, I visited him and spent two weeks with him. We talk everyday...3 to 5 times a day. We spend like 2 hours on the phone sometimes and he said he doesn't know me??? Does he really love me? Also he finds it weird that I didn't know I was married. All I could only answer is, this is Philippines... only in the Philippines where some people learn about the law not because they want to obey it but because they want to know how to break it. Im just thinking... if I can not convince my fiancee of my ignorance then surely, the consul won't believe me too. Anyway, Im just so tired now... I give up. This is probably not meant to be. I have no more tears to cry...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Married before
I had two annulments, ( Im not proud of it and Im not embarassed about it eitheer. Sh!t happens.) One is annulment in the ground of psychologically incapacitated which took 4 months and the other one is in the ground of fraud which took 2 months. I guess my lawyer is ok, but the best of all, I provided good evidence. I really think that if I get to be an annulment lawyer, I will be so damn good! Hahaha!

My fiancee was married before to an american, it was a long time ago (4yrs). They never officially got divorced and he returned to the US. She has been unable to find where he is, now this is holding up our application. She is looking into annullment, does anyone have any experience with this and if so, how much more difficult does this make our application. Will they hold her first marriage against us? Will it look like she is just trying to get into the US seeing that her first husband also was American?

Very well said rebbecajo. My fiancee and I decided to hire a lawyer and did not regret getting one. Why? Cuz we are both busy. My fiancee doesnt have the time to do search in the net. He is busy working for our future... so that he will meet the above 125% poverty line income requirement. I on the other hand is busy too plus I have a son who needs quality time from me. Ive posted questions here in VJ, but no one bothered to make a reply. The replies I get are thank yous from people I congratulated. At the end of the day, its still our lawayer who we can rely for questions... and if ever we face a problem with our petition, all the vjers could do is say... we are sorry and will pray for you.

My divorce actually was since last year...had problems with the county of not being 'recorded', so we had to re-file again, which was such as pain....ive heard that longest time for a visitor to stay in the us for vacation is 6 mos....so hopefully it'll be ok for her to stay and go back to manila for the interview...thanks for your reply.

When I went to US last August 2006, I was given 6months to stay. But that time, I only planned for a 2week vacation. Then something happened when I came back here in Philippines so after 20 days, I went back to the US again. The immigration officer was a little grumpy to me and asked why I was back in such a short time. He gave me only a month to stay and that time I needed the 6 months. (What's the diff right?) Anyway, when my I-94 or my one month was about to expire, I applied for extension and was given another 6 months to stay. So all in all, I stayed seven months (Sept 2006 to April 2007). But that's before I filed for K1 which was January of this year. And before my fiancee filed for K1, I made one more visit to him and this time, at the poe, they instructed me to go to a private room and was grilled by the immigration officer. They were not rude or anything like that but they asked a lot of questions. After 45 minutes, I was able to convince them that Im not going to stay permanently and they let me go. I only stayed for two weeks with my fiancee and now Im back here in Philippines waiting and hoping for K1 visa.

Hi dj yu! I am in K1 and have a valid B1/B2 for ten years. While in the process, I did not risk going to the US. But I was thinking, there shouldn't be a problem. Ive been going to the US almost every year since I was 12. If my intention is to become TNT or to evade immigration laws, I could have gotten married when I was in the US and not file for K1 anymore, right? My lawyer advise me that if I want to visit my fiancee, I should call to check or ask the embassy if its ok. Hope this helps and welcome to visajourney!
