Boy Sus, you sure do find all the fun! Ya see anymore fun up my way? whistling.gif

Oh no...the speed was 2.5...not that I walked 2.5 miles. LOL See I didn't even consider the reception. I know if we get married in September...I will not have the money for a formal reception because of just getting the kids ready for back to school and needing to pay the AOS fee. So that is another dillema. Why does AOS have to be so dyam much? I don't want to wait to file it because I don't want him to be out of status at all...and we also want to try and get AP approved for a trip back to Jamaica in December/January.

I have the same thought almost daily - especially after working my budget!! Guess you are supposed to be saving that while you wait for NOA2...

I do this anyway, sleeping with that boy is like sleeping with a tornado

Congrats Dillon on your big day. I wish I could be there with you...but you know that I'm there in heart and spirit.

A and I decided on September 9, 2009 for our big day at the courthouse.

However, my girlfriend wants to organize a wedding on the lake here...so we may be changing the date to a weekend date if it all works out. She is going to ask a dear friend of hers that owns a lakehouse if she can host a wedding there. She wants me to have my "beach" wedding instead of getting married at a courthouse. I think it is a really sweet gesture...even if it doesn't pan out.

I told A that we will still have our beach wedding next year once my body can tolerate travel. I have a question for those of you that plan to renew vows...are you renewing on your original wedding date? If not, which wedding date will you recognize as your anniversary? My question is because I really wanted our wedding anniversary to fall on our dating anniversary. However, it did not work out like that for us because of the immigration timeline. We have to satisfy the 90 day requirement for the government...and so the date we get married will not have as much significance. But, if we renew our vows and do an actual ceremony...I'm confused about what date would be celebrated for anniversaries.

Heck I just confused myself with this post...so I understand if noone is able to make heads or tails out of what my question is. LOL

Hey all!

I walked on the treadmill today at 2.5 for 30 minutes. Now, I'm back in the bed.

LOL - I understood you S! I wondered the same thing - if you don't renew on the exact date, which do you celebrate? But I guess the answer is whichever daymn one you want - or BOTH!!!

Glad to hear you did the treadmill and are up and around more - but you should nap!

when somebody mentioned.. ways to make the kids more comfortable, mine havnet been to ja so i started introducing them to the food.. since most likey roger would be cooking some of it and my kids are SUPER picky.. i didn't want them to spit out any eating it for the first time in front of him LOL kidding.... a likkle LOL

also i got them used to knocking on my door first and not just coming in.. i started leaving them alone for short periods of time and REQUIRING that they give me that time cuz we are normally attached at the hip at ALL times...

Do they like it Quana? My kids still won't eat it. This morning A was frying plaintain and they asked what he was cooking. When he told them they both say - hey Mom makes that sometimes, but we don't like it!!

I also had to break them in on respecting closed doors, which was new. Another thing I had was my daughter sneaking in my bed at night. Now if she comes in she can sleep on the floor, but if A doesn't make it too bed early enough she is lightening fast to jump into his spot.

Hey Island,

I just read your question, my mom had my little brother flighing alone since he was two, back then it was only $50 for the flight attendant to escort him, but he was fine... Just make sure its a direct flight, once they check him in the flight attendant will be responsible for him from that point. Before 911 the use to let parents and go to the gate and wait until their kids get on the flight but I think that's all change now.

At think you do need a note or something though because once the flight attendant brings in thru the gate they will be asking for ID and making sure the you are infact the person listed on the note that they should turn him over to... Atleast that's how it use to work..

We use to do that alot for my grandmother too, since she was old and need assistance..

Thanks for your input K!

Thank you all so much. He said that CO was amazed at how organized our folder of evidence was and that she just flipped through it like it was a catalog or something. He said that she didn't pay attention to any of the papers in the folder at all.

She asked about his first marriage...why he didn't show up for the interview...he told her that he happened to meet me before the interview and realized that he married a devil in disguise. He felt that he would be selling his soul to come to America if he went through with it, and he just couldn't do it. She asked how did he know our marriage would work and he told her that it was like God made me especially for him, that we are best friends he loves me and he can tell me anything...that we don't argue and fight but we laugh all the time. He told her that no matter what...we would always be solid.

She asked him did he study for the interview...and he told her that if he didn't know me in almost 5 years he had no business coming to marry me. He said that she smiled a lot and told him that he appeared to really love me. She didn't look at one single picture...they didn't ask for a Non-Impediment form...just took out what they needed and fanned through the pages.

She asked what I did for a living...where did I work...asked about our kids and told him congratulations and welcome to the States.

He said alot of people before him left with long faces and their little single scrappy piece of paper. He was too proud of his folder. LOL he said that he wasn't nervous at all and he could have sat there all day because we have a real relationship, not some made up visa thing.

We were fine once we got on the plane.

Thanks for all the input ladies! My son and Jr are the same age - I think I would be okay with doing it for my son, but he has flown a couple times already so knows what is what. Jr doesn't want to do it by himself, but didn't tell his father that - just told Auntie. I don't think he'll have any records from school so he has to start fresh. I've asked him and he doesn't recall getting any vaccinations/shots.

Question about DS-230 delivery and interview dates. I know it varies in every case BUT, about how far away do you(anyone?) think an interview date would be from the date they receive the 230? I am eager to have an interview but I actually want it to be after May 21st. That's when my semester is over and I'm free to go there for it. I'm afraid if I take any more time off for this semester, I won't get a good grade in the class so I'd like to finish and then go for the interview.

Dillion was the most recent K1 - check her timeline and make a guess from there.

Also, I only remember getting 1 shot and that was when I was like 10 - so memory may not be the most reliable.

Looking at Dillon's timeline, it seems pretty fast! I think I'll have him drop the 230 mid-month in April...hopefully that will be far enough out where I can be done for the semester. blink.gif

True, memory definitely fades but the way it sounds, he just hasn't been to the doctor for much in his life. We've gone through all the papers he has in his house and no record of his. Found his sister's vaccination record but not his. Also seems that a lot of his important docs have 'blown away in the storm'. Ah so ie go! wacko.gif

On-line wire is how someone tried to thief from my credit card! They charge a few dollars more of a fee for on-line v going to an agent.

No letter needed for the shots...he can go to any clinic in his area to get them. Just make sure he gets record of all the shots he got so he can take that with him to the medical exam. It's a good idea for him to start getting them done ahead of time...will probably save some $$ in the long run. That's what I'm having my SO do anyway.

And more than just money...can a body handle 12 vaccinations at one time? That's alot of foreign stuff getting shot into your veins!

Does anyone know if it is possible to wire money in USD to your SO? I was thinking for the $95, he'd get a better deal than if I wired him money and it was converted to JA....I'd have to wire quite a bit more now to make that amount.

Ells - you can send it Western Union. If he has a bank account you can wire from your bank to his bank but that's more expensive than Western Union.

TL;

you're not the only one that had problems with Dr. "bc"Barngraby. My SO's friend had his medical in October, he lived in Mobay but they were booked out so he had to go to Kingston and he was told he had to go back to pick it up, when he went back, they couldn't find it. He waited 3 hours for them to look for it but they told him they're too busy and to come back the next day. Imagine, you come from 'bay to Kingston and they telling you to come back. He picked it up the day of his interview.

That's the thing - like no one has anything to do but wait on them. And they know they have something you need desparately.... A has been working double shifts and over nights to get the next day off to try to deal with it. Living in Kingston, working in Maypen so 2 hr commute each way. I asked today when was he going to sleep more than an hour??? It will be amazing if he makes it through this without getting sick.
