All he wants to do is bring home clothes primarily for his siters and brothers so I am tempted to just pack them in our suitcases... but when we are leaving the aiport and going through customs they will probably search our bags and then want to charge us... does anyone know how much charges are?

If you are putting the clothes in your suitcase just take off the tags if they are new...i bring clothes down for my hubby family everytime i go down and they don't ask as long there is no tags...they do look through your suitcase but they won't examine your clothes...I wouldn't worry...they charge based on how much the item would cost in JA...so it usually not that much if its nothing to big...like a tv set or something...

Don't agree with the charges statement here. I took a whole suitcase of presents for Christmas one time. Had tags on and ALL the receipts. The stupid duty cost more then I paid for the ####### I took.

If it were me, I would take all the tags off and mix everything in with your stuff.

Rolling stuff in your clothes works really well too - stuff little things in the pockets. I took stuff for Jawi's SO's little girls and I rolled their little clothes inside of mine.

On a side note, what a pain it is to call USCIS? Even when you get a live person, they are so regimented that you still feel like you are talking to a machine. Damn!

So what's new?

We were going to wait awhile until A was more settled before bringing Jr up but Jr has been having a really hard time since A left, which has made it hard on A as well. He commented about how he didn't have a mom or a dad there.... my heart breaks easily when it comes to kids so I said go for it! He hasn't seen his mom for 7 years so he will be spending some time with her this summer.

BTW, I was talking about you last night in case your ears were ringing. blush.gif There was discussion about Michael Jackson's kids being biologically his or not because of their coloring and A refused to believe that a mixed child could look like the white parent. PLUS this girl told her they are still in love

but yunno LS you know what's best for you and you have been praying on it

I agree with you Bunz. And because he didn't say that to me either I was flippin mad! But his phone rings alot and he never says hey I just talked to Auntie, Jr, best friend, etc. so makes sense he wouldn't say about her either. I also know that during that first month he was REALLY homesick and wanted to chat with anyone that reminded him of what was familar i.e. Jamaica.

This truly is a major adjustment.

Hey TL;

Would it make a difference if she was only calling him while you were at work and talking to him for hours at a time?

Well this whole thing happening spurred a day long conversation with us about trust and ex's and boundaries and what constitutes cheating. Our boundary lines were very different, but we have a much better understanding of each other after that. My problem was it seemed like he was keeping it a secret, because he never mentioned it but since he has been here I find he doesn't talk about much - like when we were in a LDR he had no choice to yap because that was all we had. I listen to him talk on the phone and he is definitely more the listener than the talker, no matter who he is talking to.

I came to the conclusion that it comes down to whether I trust him or not... while keeping my eyes open.

I am sorry to hear that sad.gif

Now, as many of you know I am normally the first one to jump out saying DUMP HIM, but is there a possibility it ISN'T what you assume it to be?
Ie, does he have any friends here to call and chat with??
Does she have someone else, ie could they be just friends?

Reason I ask is that when you're bored, you often just find ANYONE to chat to to pass time with.....

I agree with JAE here too. The same thing happened to me. A and S (baby mama) haven't spoken in over a year. But about a month after he was here I found out he was talking to her almost every day. When I asked him he told me straight up that they have been talking since right after he got here. But once I cooled myself down it made sense because Jr was coming here and he told me that's what they talk about. She only calls him and he will chat while I'm sitting right next to him. Now I talk to my ex every couple of days but it's for the kids and scheduling. It took me awhile to get used to now I'm fine with it.

Love, could he be calling her because he misses his kids?

How long would you say is too long? I'm thinking to wait until 30 (3 yrs), but Steven wants me to have one yesterday. Perhaps it's because people rather talk about the bad (unordinary) than the good (ordinary), but every coworker that has kids talks about the amount of money kids cost & the restrictions on travel they have with young kids.

I would wait. You need to to make sure you two are compatible before rushing into parenthood, so many marriages fail these days you need to make sure you're building on a strong foundation....Not saying that your marriage is necessarily doomed, but I think it's madness to rush into having kids too soon....

I agree with that 100%. Children are a wonderful joy, but they put a whole different set of stressors on a relationship.

From reading your post, Lovesponge, I can see the benefits of not rushing to get married the first day possible. Hmm. I'll put some thought into that.

What else is new with Bounty Killer? I lost all respect for him after his first arrest for beating a woman - the next time I saw him perform live, he went into this whole tirade about sometimes a woman just needs to be hit and taught her place - I won't spend a dime on his albums or shows.

Well, maybe this time he'll get what's due to him. I hate abuse of any kind and people need to be punished for their actions. Dumb azz....

Congrats on EAD Mich - no more house rat for Ray!

i just want to know its limitations. for the price, it must only can do so much...

My boss has a HP version. He says that it does everything a full size does, it's just smaller size. I think the memory isn't as big either, but neither is the price.

I think Nat bought one - I want one, but haven't bought one yet - I have been looking at the ones by Asus - seem to have good reviews

Does it have a CD/DVD player? That's what they seem to be missing in the ones I'm looking at.

I can't wait for this day to end - I am going to see my friend Bowie tonight - He's opening for Smashmouth at a free concert my city does every Thurs in the summer - It's called Live at 5, big out door happy hour with food and drinks, they block off the street.

Boy Sus, you sure do find all the fun! Ya see anymore fun up my way? whistling.gif
