I keep coming back to my own gut. So many times in the past I have been in a relationship and had that "feeling" in the pit of my stomach. And that "feeling" has proven right every time.

In all my years of going to Jamaica and seeing stories on the internet about people getting used and hurt. My eyes are wide open, and I appreciate the honesty of the posters here who have also seen this despite the harshness in which the truth is told.

None of those things come into play when I hear the sincerity in his voice. When I see the love and the joy in his eyes. When I set my clock by him and know without a doubt, that he will call when he says he will.

Yes, I will truly never know him until he is here, or I am there and we live day in and day out.

BUT my gut knows... my gut knows that his love is real, and if one day his mind changes and he walks out...

Well, I pray I can be thankful for the happiness he did give me. Sometimes happiness can be hard to come by, and I take a chance on happiness today, with hope in my heart.

I wish for a lifetime of happiness and yet I give thanks for just a second.

With all the pain I have endured, I know that should this fail, I will go on, and I will find happiness again...

Mine are good - got me running every which way as baseball/softball season starts back up. Only summer plan we have so far is to take a vacation to St. Louis the end of June for Dillon's wedding. I have my son signed up for one week of camp but that's it. Getting ready to war with the ex about their schedule so I'm kind of waiting to see how that turns out.

laughing.gif Wow, DaDa, you have a good memory! Nah, that doctor doesn't do oral surgery, so I'm going to someone she recommended.

It's costing a fortune. My 15 minute consultation with the surgeon cost $195 out of my own pocket! huh.gif Let's not even talk about how much this surgery is going to cost, even with insurance. I told my friend who recently finished dental school that she's soon to be PAID. Kinda makes me think I'm in the wrong field! helpsmilie.gif

Check with your health insurance company, not just dental. Mine were impacted so my health insurance covered what my dental insurance wouldn't. Of course, this was 8 years ago and the whole insurance biz has changed since then.

We're having the opposite situation in Houston. Yesterday a lot of schools & businesses were closed due to flooding from the torrential rainfall the night before. Today, it's cloudy, but beautiful.

Monday, I'm getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed & the booklet said to eat soft foods afterwards. If anyone else had this done, what did you eat that wasn't super full of sugar? I'm thinking to get some protein shakes.

You are right on Nat. I had all 4 of mine, which were impacted, removed and I had alot of protein shakes - mixed with ice cream so it was a real shake for sure. good.gif But you could do other things like mashed potatos, squash, turnip, meatloaf, mac & cheese, etc.

Yeah but as Americans we are quick to look at the faults in other cultures before we knock our own. Til this day when I mention I'm messing with a Jamaican I already know what’s going to come out their mouths. I'm about to hear all the negative reasons on why I shouldn’t date one....

One good thing I can say about where I work is that I don't get that. I think that typically comes from Americans, possibly ones who haven't experienced very many cultures.

My coworkers, who are from Pakistan, Egypt, China, Ecuador, Canada, Brazil, India, and of course the USA, are WAAAAY less judgemental about dating people from other cultures. They don't automatically assume that people who marry Americans are just after a green card.

Nat, this is the same for me, I welcome working with a diverse group of people.

P.S. We were touched today, so soon maybe.

I just would like to say that I have always appreciated your honesty and the ability to tell it like it is. It is not always the easiest or popular thing to do but you haven't stopped being who you are in all of the years that I have known you. I know that A is FINALLY coming here and you are going to be beyond busy but we really need that honesty on this board. I am not saying you should stay if you feel it has served its purpose for you but I feel that your past experiences, knowledge, and wisdom are needed around here.

I may not have always responded personally to you about your comments but when I read them it really makes me stop and think and that is what we need around here. Sure there are a lot of surface discussions but when those deep down heart to heart discussions happen your insight in invaluable.

I for one will surely miss seeing you around here. heart.gif

I think MsTee's issue is/are that she is helpless right now with MIL barging in and taking over. Those on the Yardie thread are at least a little in control of what is happening. It's got to be really frustrating for her. Sometimes stepping away from something that reminds you of something unpleasant (like her helplessness) is best to deal with it. Hopefully, she will be back when we can help her or she needs to vent or whatever.

Our mutual friend E that introduced us (me and A) is back in Jamaica because his younger sister died from Sickle Cell...she was only 21. I feel horrible because I should have been there too. A is very spiritual but he is telling me that he can't manage sitting in the church during the ceremony. He will be there...but he will stay outside the church because he doesn't like to see people cry and mourn. If I was there, he would be going in...and we would both support our friend.

Funny thing is is that A still hasn't figured out how to tell E that we are getting married. I was casually dating E when he introduced me to A. I told E that our thing was cool...but I couldn't deny the attraction between me and A. E was upset, but said that he understood and he knew that there was a mutal attraction...he could feel it. A doesn't want to hurt him...so he has to finally face the music and tell E that he is moving to Atlanta for us to get married. He is a nervous wreck about it. I always asked him why he let 5 years go by without telling E that he was in love with me. He told me that E told him how much he loved me...but I wasn't interested in another LDR or going through the process again. E had never told me that his feelings were that strong for me. I thought we were just kicking it so I wouldn't be the 5th wheel with my girls and their guys/husbands.

So E knows that I was interested but I'm not sure he knows about me and A's relationship since he moved to New York.

First Jawi, I'm so sorry to hear about that girl - that is so young to lose life. crying.gif I'm like A ....I can't get myself into that church and if I do, I'm in the back. The sadness there will be unbearable.

My opinion re: E - A (or you) should tell him. You know how Jamaica rolls and he is going to find out almost immediately after A steps on that plane. Better to hear it from people he cares about than someone who is gossiping. Just my two cents.... blush.gif

One wrong statement or incorrrect information can de-rail someone's interview. So yes, I am saying to everyone YOU should read and know all you can about this process. There is so much that has been documented here on VJ, that if people would spend time re-searching they wouldn't be stressing themselves out so much. But hey who am I to tell someone not to stress.

MSTEE, I didn't want to chime in on your drama, but packet and package in jamaica is the same thing. The package has more than one sheet on paper in it. Personally, I think you are making this process alot harder than it is. Since I just finish this entire process without a glick, you need to read all of tghe guides and follow them as they have been documented. This process is not hard at all. You should be filling out the documents yourself, because if something is inputed wrong or incorrect it is you and your So who will suffer the consequences.

Thanks. I needed someone to chime in. I appreciate it. I have been doing all the paperwork myself. Thats just it. Now the MIL wants to get involved. Im not doing anything else. Just going to let it flow the way its supposed to. Im not posting anything else about it. Ive tried my best to do this mess. Just gonna leave it all alone.

You guys have a nice day.

Mstee..... we are not all so lucky to have a glitch free process, so don't worry. Sometimes one hand at the embassy doesn't know what the other is doing so don't let things get under your skin too much. Just deal with what you have to and keep it going. Most of the time packet 3 doesn't show up so we have to recreate it. I have an older scanned copy that I gave to other yardies if you don't get it. He doesn't have to make the trip to the embassy just to pick one up because it is just standard forms.

Our daughters case was approved. She's been here almost a week now. I got a welcome home cake the night she arrived. I went looking for balloons to match; but couldn't find anything to fit the bill, so I got a "It's a girl" balloon. She didn't get it or eat any of the cake wacko.gif

We've enrolled her in school. Decided to have her repeat the 9th grade because her grades were so poor. She was okay with it, knowing she stopped trying in school once her dad left. She and her sister are doing volleyball try outs this week. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. In fact, Im making them both run laps latter this morning. They were complaining about how tired they were. It will be a miracle if either one of them makes it.

Hope all is well.

later

Oh ...Not really sure what to do about how she dresses. Shorts are way to short for a girl who has as much back as she. The short shorts wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so tight. She seems very mature for a 15 year old, I have to constantly tell her to button up her blouse so that her bra/ breast are not hanging out. I think her clothes are fit too tight. I make suggestions but don't want to seem like I'm belittling. I want her to look like a young lady. I decided to just leave it alone, for now. I know for sure that I'm buyn the next size up, next time. She said she's lost seven pounds since arrival. We had Jamaica fare the first few days in a row, So I said we are having spaghetti tonight, she said "what am I going to eat"...I said of course spaghetti.she basically refused to eat it. I told- her like I tell mine when we eat Jamaican food...you are one your own; cause I'm not making anything else- she descided to eat the salad...mine you she's refused to eat veggies since she's arrived...

lata.

Wow is it just me or do you guys feel like you just got dumped... unsure.gif

im still shocked .

Sometimes we all have to step back and take a break from VJ from time to time.

At one point the week before last, DJ was telling me the dr (in the public hospital) was talking about doing a collostomy - of course, I freaked - Why in the hell would they do that for an ulcer? He told me Babes, relax uself, maybe somebody need a part or two. I was ready to strangle him!

I told him he would be sitting in bed like a sh*tty superhero waiting on me to change a diaper. I would get a big bucket of Febreeze and just pour on him every few days. I can't stand the thought of baby diapers less known a big person's diaper...another reason I am NOT a pet person. Of course, I'm joking (a little)...but I would have to pray for strength through changing a diaper...I can't see holding his legs in the air and using a baby wipe to clean him up. TMDI!!!!

I get the u ok? I'm go on a rant about something and after he will say "u ok otherwise??" headbonk.gif

OMG!!!!!!!!!! island.. i am w/ u mami.. i will rant on and on.. and roger be like "oh....ok" unsure.gif mad.gif
i use to just laugh and then it started to bother me, i have told him that i really need for him to have an opinion on MORE things that i say, he has tried to do better over the years i guess.. maybe its hard when he isn't here to comment, but i comment on his going ons?? but women like to chat i guess so we are just different.. we shall see... luv.gif

When he doesn't comment I figure he's not listening then I start questioning. Sometimes he suprises me though and can repeat it word for word!!

Your girls with Dad for the whole month??

So, here is my very short trip report – the trip was very very mellow and laid back – Tues, Weds, and Thurs were very quiet days, just spent time together talking and hanging out.

Sus - glad to hear this trip was uneventful and relaxing - just what you needed!!
