Ladies, i want to be in a good mood today but i am stressed today... last night D's baby mother decided she was taking a break from being a mother and dropped off all 3 of his sons at his house at 1230 midnight with 2 bags of clothes between the three of them and was like IM out!!!

He ( D) of course is stressing, about getting them to school, having enough room for them, who will watch them when he is working, etc. For the most part the aunts and grandma were helping out with the care and he was going over in the morning to get them ready for school and in the evening to ensure everyone was bathed and fed. I told him, being a single parent is not impossible, but basically the grandmother with whom the baby mother lived with, stated that the baby mother needed to get out, she was tired of her running the streets and not being responsible.

Sorry to hear he' stressing Honey. What kind of community does he live in? Is there a "grandma" in his community that can take care of the kids while he is at work?

Good morning Marie87 I see u down there.

Well a couple of weeks ago someone raised a question abt ur SO children. Well my SO's daughter will be coming from Jamaica in the next couple of weeks. She is 6 years old. I never been a step parent b4. Any tips? Have any of u ladies been a stepparent or even a step child?

I am a step-child with both a stepmother and stepfather. The biggest thing I can stress is let her know that you are not taking her mom's place, but to welcome her within your family as if she is one of your very own children. I dated a guy who had 2 older children and I loved them as much as my own. I would kiss them goodnight along with my two, after they indicated they wanted it. You have to move at her pace. Make her feel as if she belongs there as much as any of you. It's also important that your family accepts her as well - don't allow them to show favoritism to your daughter in front of her.

My daughter is 6 right now. She is going through a streak of independence so I choose my battles, so get ready for that plus her adjustment problems. Shower her with love but be firm. This will be the time to lay the groundwork that will last throughout your relationship.

Out of curiousity, is she coming up on the K2 or did you file for her with the I30? Is your husband flying down to get her?

As some of you know I had to write my ill Grandmother a letter in September (her request) and I had a hard time. She died Oct. 18. This past weekend after her wake I received a letter from her and I wanted to share a part that really touched me. Don't know if it will have the same effect on any of you but I felt compelled to share.

"I want to tell you the kind of human being I hope you will become. The most important things in this world are people, family, and relationships. Never money, status, possessions, or professions, ect.
The world is full of hurt people caused by selfish, violent people. Hurt people that hurt people. Your job is to find that broken heart, give it love, acceptance, and a place in this world. Never look at someone as bad (evil) look way beyond that to help them heal."

That's beautiful Classy. She sounded very wise as her words are very true.

And then again some could careless and are happy.

That statement makes me so mad, MBG. Not that you said it; but that it is even said at all. Not every person that goes to JA is going to get their freak on. It's such a stupid assumption that pretty much all are though.

I kid you not! He told me "the other day" that his friend hit him in the "foot" with a board. I asked him just where in the foot he got hit and he said his thigh. I just busted a laugh and he knew exactly why I was laughing. wacko.gif

The doctors must have a heck of a time trying to find out just where the pain really is!!

Island don't fell bad he!! I thought me and my girlfriend were going to have to fight two women in Jamaica and we are black. Girl I had taken off my shoes and earrings and was asking for some Vaseline( just in case someone don't no about the vaseline it't to keep your face from being scatched-up am I a hoodlum or what) But I understood their rudeness I would probably be rude to because some people just come to Jamaica to get there freak on. I actually came to me another man I had been talking to for 2 years and met and fell in love with my Husband. They are losing so many men to so many different people, some are just angry. And then again some could careless and are happy.

rofl.gif Lawny just taught me all about the use of vaseoline!!! Up here we use it for chapped cheeks in the winter. rofl.gif

I understand that. When we are checking into the hotel I get the feeling some people are thinking that. That's when I step up the respect for him even more and show them he's not my giglio, but my partner.

Sorry, I wasn't back earlier to respond to the question about do I feel that some comments that have been made about the JA man, has been made in such a manner that it gave the impression, that he should tow the line because I brought you here.

What I find is that not everyone understand what it means for this Ja man to now be in the US and now he is now cosidered under the label of Africian American. Being a black man in this country is hard. Every movement and action of his is judged at a 200% level, where a white man is judged at 80% level.

I have always said when you are judging a black man, you are also judging a black woman, because that black man was birthed by a black woman.

I will allways judge a black man by the way he treats his mother, if he treats his mother like shyte, then in my book he will treat his woman the same way.

I agree with this about all men.
