My condolences, Acrow -

So, yesterday started off good - ended up being DDay in my office - One attorney and the dept. director gone, at least one more to come.

Hi everyone.

I am very sad because my husband found out this morning that his mother passed away. He is on a plane right now on his way back to Jamaica. The saddest part about it is that he had a ticket to go down for a week on monday. He was just five days short of seeing his mother one last time.

She had been sick with headaches and dizzy spells, but nobody thought she was on her deathbed. She was only 51 years old. I still don't know what she died from.

So, my question is...what should I do? I want to go down and be there for him, but the money just isn't there. I don't have any experience with Jamaican funerals or customs.

I'm sorry for your loss Acrow. rose.gif

I am too far behind to catch up, work has got me so busy and with all the changes around here I definitely need to act the part! I went to NYC for a training on Tuesday at the Sprint Training facility and it was very impressive. I am working on a presentation for our customers now and have to learn a bunch of new offerings before 4th quarter ends.

Hubby drove up with me and he loves NYC while I was in training he roamed Midtown and had a blast he can't wait to go back with me next week. He didn't want to take pics in Time Square because he didn't want to look like a tourist as he thought he looked like a New Yorker and fit right in LOL. Yall know I was taking pics everywhere haaa cause that's me but he did take a pic with Usain Bolt's cardboard likeness which was too funny I'll post on FB LOL

I am glad to say that it looks like the boys have finally accepted that Damian is here to stay and he is in fact their Stepfather and my Husband. My boys are actually talking to us LOL and starting to act like a real family again. All I can say is praise God because it has been hell for me this year and I just pray that the good vibes continue and we can continue on as a fully meshed family going forward. I know it won't be easy and we all play a part and have to work together but I have faith in US.

Hubby and I are planning a 2 day Halloween party at home with the boys with scary movies, treats and I'm dressing up the cats ( Hush I know I'm crazy). Everyone is excited and so am I to finally have some normalcy back at home luv.gif

Congrats Heaven and Hays and whoever else I have forgotten forgive me congrats to all kicking.gif

Lawny yuh link soon come (promise)

That's great news Philly! The determination and firmness has paid off and the boys are accepting it. In time they will even like it. luv.gif

I feel Mr Philly re: tourist. I used to do the same thing but then always hated myself for not having photos of my trips. Now I just don't care if I look touristy or not. no0pb.gif

Heaven...the Embassy will give him a sealed envelope when he gets his passport and the medical will be in there. The hospital will not give him the results to bring with him. So most likely the hospital will send the results to the embassy when they are done and then the embassy will give them to your SO with the passport/visa.

Ok Dillion i got you !! UPDATE: ..just spoke with my fiance' ..looks like island you were right good.gif .. he said the embassy called him today and said that everything is fine and he will get the visa but they need the medical before he can get it..he said the only avail appt they had for him to go turn it is on Nov 24th !! so now we just have to wait for that ..i was kind of expecting this so i'm not surprised ..just glad everything worked out ! Thanks everyone for all ur input and help !! Love u all ..xoxo heart.gif

Question: On the K-1 we added My honey's son (6 years old) do we also need to fill out the DS156,156k & 157 for him? Thanks Yardies

Are you bringing him up when your fiance comes?

No Sus he will follow later. I want Garfield to get adjusted first.

Depends on how much time you want - the most sensible way is to go through all the motions at the same time. Fill out the DS156 & 156k (if I remember correctly the 157 is only for the fiance, not the child) and have him interview along with his father. Once the visa is issued, he has 6 months to use it.

However, if you have added him to the 129F, but chose not to have him interview at this time you have 1 year to go through the interview steps for him and get him a visa at that time.

Hope this makes sense.

we went without the medical...we only just showed the receipt and the vaccination paper they gave him and he told them that the hospital said it's not ready so she was like OK ! ..they approved him without the medical..becuz after the interview we went to the hospital to find out whats what and it was still not ready...so the lady in the medical office was like they should have given him a blue slip to come back but they didnt...they just approved him! i didn't understand how or why all i could say is THANK YOU JESUS ! i'll post the full details in the review section..

Congrats Heaven!!!

Now I'm going to be the voice of reason.....sometimes one person at the embassy will do something (like approve without the medical even though the medical is an extremely important part of the process) but someone else down the line will catch up on it and it can hold up your visa until they get your completed medical. Hope for the best, but be prepared. blush.gif

I couldn't imagine not wanting or having a child, I know being a parent isn't for everyone. But it is the most rewarding thing in the world. Just my opinion. I never thought that I could love someone so much in my life until she came a long. I think she really tought me how to love completely...before that I thought I knew but I didn't. Honestly I would have to say it has helped me with the love I have for my Husband too. As well has helped me be more understanding and sympathetic towards others. Children are such a blessing.

Wow I just made myself sound like I was an evil noncaring, closed hearted person in the world before I had a child. Well I kind of was. LOL!

I agree with you Dillon. Once you have children all of your views and what you think is important changes. Parenting is the hardest job in the world but it has the best pay you can ever get. I loved being pregnant - feeling that lil baby moving around inside and watching your body change all the while thinking wow, what a miracle I have created. And then snuggling up with them when they are babies and that baby smell, and their lil toothless smile cuz they know you are their mom..... luv.gif

And no, you don't sound like you were evil & uncaring prior to motherhood....just like the rest of us child-free people, a little more self-centered or self-involved. Parenthood is one of the most selfless things a person can do so I get it. I just also understand the other side of that & get what people mean (since I'm one of them) when they say they'd be okay not having kids.

But would you still feel ok say 10 or 20 years down the line when you don't have any.....

Two days of work this week, Whooo hooo!

I heard you guys had a great time. I talked to her this morning and she said she can't wait for you to come shopping again. Heard the two of you can shop till you drop. good.gif

yes.gif They out shopped me - I was hanging on the street people watching. And Sus is the perfect chauffeur!! That was a good call Sus, since the train was not our friend this weekend.

Mine was in the case at the LV store in Chicago about 6 years ago. It had a light shining on it.....like God himself was telling me I must have it. Swear I heard a choir of angels when I saw it. It's $2,000 though. mad.gif
