I wished the mister could meet some friends, he hangs out with my friend husband but he doesn't understand when he talks and always asking him what he says, and he is so shy. I wish he would meet some friends. Just now he was using my #### to bounce his tennis balls (I was going to say to bounce his balls but I just realized that some may get the wrong idea so let me spell out what kinda balls)

LMAO.. that is cute.. I'm sure he loves the bounce back the balls are getting when he throws them rofl.gif

lol, yeah, since it is like throwing on a wall..

LOL - I was going to say the same thing - Portland doesn't have any bounce back. rofl.gif

I feel this! My kids ask all the time when can they go to JA with me, but I tell them that they would starve cuz they don't like the food and I'm not eating Burger King and KFC the whole time. I made beef stew a couple weeks ago and both my kids refused to eat it. Good Afternoon yall.... How is everyone doing today?

Shaunsgal, I was reading your post on DHL and I am wondering how they know the weight and all that stuff about it if they don't have it.... and why is it saying it was picked up.... Are you sure they don't have it? yolu can called the 202 number and find out if the visa was issued and if it was then DHL should have it.. They don't deliver it he would have to go and pick it up..

I just received this from the embassy about 5 minutes ago.

Dear Madam

The visa is not on hold, the visa has not been printed as yet. When this is done we will send it off to DHL.

Kingston iV

You should write them back and tell them your story about when you had your interview, the delays, that your wedding is schedule for such and such date and base on this update that you may have to cancel it, ask if they know what is taking so long, if there is more information they need from you to speed the process up....

Trust me. been there! Done that! I have asked every one of those things! My theory is that once the elections were held and Bush was out, his team at the embassy gave up and left everything for the new incoming team to take care of.

Gosh Shaunsgirl ..what a freakin stress. Keep hounding them though - squeaky wheel gets the grease.

DHL says the normal process is that the Embassy puts it on hold until they are ready to send it through DHL. DHL's website is showing that they have had it on hold since 1/20/09. I had a scare in October of last year and found out I have a cardiac problem and I am a cancer survivor so I try not to worry too much about things I have no control over. Just happy to wake up every morning. This too shall pass.

What does the embassy say? There is no reason that DHL should be holding it - their are only a courier service.

Big ups to you for the health battles you have won so far!! good.gif

LOL, I know that feeling! I made a vow on Friday that I was heading back to the gym - Instead, I went out Fri and got plastered, then out Sat and did the same! So my days were spent recouping! Sat night we went to see old friends of mine play - I haven't seen them in about 3 years - We walked up and the guys were unloading the equipment, and swearing a blue streak - I said, Hey, watch your language! They all stopped dead, and then started cracking up - My friend Rob came out - he kept coming over and talking to my cousin and I in Patwah - she would say WHAT?? So he finally said I give up, and would just come talk in my ear - then I had to translate.

But, I have packed my work clothes for the am, and intend to get up and hit the gym - One month to get it in gear before JA!

I am sure there is one in Brooklyn - that would be Portland - maybe JGay?

These are the ones in the US:

New York
111 Livingston Street
Suite 1102
Brooklyn, NY 11201
Phone: 718-222-0175
Fax: 718-222-1867

Miami
8300 NW 33rd Street
Suite 440
Miami, FL 33122
Phone: 305-670-3222
Fax: 305-669-6634

Baltimore
8757 Georgia Avenue
Suite 460
Silver Spring, MD 20910
Phone: 301-589-0432
Fax: 301-589-2961

I wondering if anyone is close to them. I have that credit that can only be used by taking it to an office. If I get a ticket for January I'm thinking I could mail the voucher and a money order to someone to drop it off at the office for me.

Next question - has anyone taken the Air Tran from Penn Station to JFK?

TL; my parents have been in the states since the early 70s and my mom cooked a turkey for thanksgiving in 1979 and that thing sat on the table the entire time. We have all Jamaican dishes...no turkey. I don't like how it smells or taste. My aunt makes a great jerk turkey. Sometimes she cuts it up and brownstew it. So, the main dish is GOAT, oxtail and fish and every which way you can cook chicken. Lots of veggies and 3 different rice, plus, coco, yam, dumpling, bananna...you name it (we've got it). My dad makes pone, grater cake and drops. I don't know what I'm going to do when he moves to Jamaica.

Good morning all.

Island and for those who want to access our Yahoo group - please send a PM to Ms. Squitto requesting permission.

I tried that a couple times - I never got a response. Maybe I was denied???

Great pics, Island. Thanks.

I am going to make the castle my desktop at work tomorrow. Awesome picture. Did you see Tinkerbell fly down from it during the parades?

No, we never made it back for the night parade. I watched the fireworks from our hotel every night while I was the phone with A. That was hard - being so close to JA and not being able to sneak down! unsure.gif

My son put the castle on his phone wallpaper as well. It is an awesome sight!

And more:

The day we were leaving it was only 55-60 degrees - my kids were the only 2 in the pool. Yup, we're northerners...

My brother, being a dork and my sister-in-law:

And Halloween:

Ok JG - I promised you Mickey!! Sorry they are big but I didn't have the patience to resize them all in photobucket.

My kids are the whiteies and the other two are my neice and nephew.

This sign was how we would find our hotel building - my kids thought it was just for them since our name is Love:

Island, was anyone else hurt in the accident?

He said there was about 8 people who got hurt. There was about 13-15 on the bus. Thankfully though, no one was seriously hurt, which is amazing since they were speeding.

Good that he is okay!!
What did the embassy ever say?? Were they merciful?

I didn't get a response on Friday, but the e-mail I sent wasn't really one to respond too I guess. At the time I sent it I still hadn't found him and had no idea so I just sent them one informing of the accident so they didn't put a big red X on him as a no show. I will send them one in the am requesting a new date. I'm thinking though I just may ask for one for January and then I can go. I would hate to have yet another set back if they blue slip him for my presence. Better to go on a planned trip and get a sale ticket then buy a ticket cuz they are telling me too.
