It's crazy because they don't even really see anyone - just walk up to the desk and give it to the guy and be done with it.

My SO and I were talking when I was there about why is the embassy in Kingston. Most Amercians who are there are not in Kingston, so why make it so hard for us to get to? Why do they not have it in Mobay?

IW..I would suggest not having it done for the 1st time right before a visit or big event mainly because you arent sure how your skin will react and that wouldn't be the time to test the waters!! Majority of people don't...or should I say...shouldnt have problems if being done by someone who knows what they are doing and using good product. Look for a place in your area that uses Nudesse to wax with. It is soy based and warmed to body temperature so #1 is better for the skin and no chance of it being too hot. It always amazes me when people come the day before their wedding for their 1st wax....???

Thanks for the tips. good.gif I'll go now and then it will be all healed in a month! Actually I have tried the at home kits and other than a little tender that day I don't have trouble. I DO have trouble ripping it off my own skin though!

Well, it's official, Gov. Schwarzenegger has gotten court approval to furlough state workers. Starting next month for the next 18 months I'll be making 10% smaller salary. I already struggle to get ahead or at least break even around here and that $300 is going to hurt. The cost of living here is just outrageous and 'fringe' workers like me can barely afford to live where they work. This year is really going to suck! Has anyone here seen the movie 'What Dreams May Come'? It was okay...enough for me to not 'not like it'. I might have really liked it except for a couple things. 1) At just under 2 hours, it was still a bit too long and convoluted and 2) (this is what knocked it down a star) is that I made a little observation about the director's idea of heaven and hell that really bothered me. In the depiction of heaven, it was mostly white people floating around and la la la. Once they got to the gates of hell, who did they cast? Mostly black people! #######??? That stereotypical BS notion that all 'good' people are white and 'bad' people are black. And these Hollywood directors keep perpetuating that #######. For that I *almost* didn't like the movie but it had other good elements.

That would've bothered me right from the start. I would love to see who has big enough kahunas to cast a movie where all bad people are white and the good people are black!! mad.gif

STaff had not clue what happened until he told them as he was being wheeled away...smile.gif... ( sigh) so i get to go see him....HOORAY!

Thanks. I was thinking about 5 or 6. He said maybe 6T but I don't think I've seen a 6T before. Wonder if there's a difference between a 6T and a regular 6. I haven't shopped for a little one in a long time.

Island, did you feel as if you got any type of attitude or negative vibe from the interviewer? i tend to be anxious all the time anyway so i imagine i will be nervous. I will definitely go to the interview with him cause i would be a nervous wreck if i didnt. Are you going to fly back with A< or let him fly into New York by himself??

None at all - I didn't see any from any of the people at the windows. Our girl was playing with any of the little kids that were getting antsy waiting for their parents to deal with business. She would have them pick of the phone and she was chatting with them - it kept us in stitches at times. The waiting for our turn was actually a calming thing. We just sat chatting and joking (and I was giving him those pinches Shrewie wink.gif ) so by the time it was our turn it felt like no big deal. I think A was more nervous though cuz he did ask me at one time where do we go from here if we get denied. I said we would deal with that if we get there but I'm not thinking about it until then. Just do whatever you need to do to relax yourself (nip of Rum?) and you will be fine.

He wants me to fly with him as he has caught on that things go smoother for him when I'm with him. We went to the gambling place and they were checking everyone with the metal detector and such, but since he was with me they just shooed us in. But it will really have to depend on ticket prices. This trip cost me more than I had budgeted for because I paid for the interview again and also paid an arm and a leg to stay at Sandcastles for 3 nights. We were going to stay in Hanover but A's mom and Aunt were there for the weekend so the house was FULL. Since I didn't have a reservation or any time to search out a good deal, we just plopped ourselves there and coughed up the money.

I'm excited but just chilling right now. Hard to answer about nervous - I had a few trial runs at it. I wasn't so much nervous about the interview as I was upset about not having the stuff and knowing we were going to get blueslipped. But each time I think somethings going to be a big deal it turns out okay. Just make sure you have all your stuff in order and you will be fine.

I definitely recommend attending the interview with them though - it made a big difference. She asked me more questions than she asked A. When she was asking about my kids he jumped in to answer them before I could! I asked him why later and he said these were supposed to be my questions, not yours!!

Anyhow, St. Louis has the major league baseball all star game this year. Looking up tickets on ebay and right now, IF you can even get them, they are like $800+ for 2 tickets. There's a whole week of festivities surrounding the game that week too. Downtown will be a zoo.

I happened upon our team site to look for tickets and found out they are looking for volunteers for the week. I SIGNED UP IMMEDIATELY. I want to be a part of all the festivities and attend the game so bad you can't imagine. To do it free....to be a part of it all, would just be incredible. Wish me luck cause I want this more then anything I've wanted in a really long time. Sports fan's dream. My best friend signed up and we signed up to work together. on the same shifts. So, wish us both luck.

WOW girl that sure was an exhausting trip whistling.gif but I am very happy that you made it through and is back home safe and sound good.gif congrats to you an A. Is his little boy coming with him?

It's funny you said that because after that we did NOTHING! Went to Hellshire after the interview and took a nap then walked to be beach to eat, have a beer and chill out. Was in bed by 9! Went to Ochi on Friday and we mostly napped, devil.gif and watched tv. We went to a block dance Friday night and then to Oceans for a drink but was back in bed by 11:00. I told him I have never slept so much but I guess that's what we needed after all that stress.

Jr's not coming - he didn't go to the interview with us either. That drama will be saved for a different time.

I was glad to drive my own car on the right side of the road and to sleep in my own bed, but I didn't like sleeping alone. crying.gif I was gald to see my babies though - my son kept calling and checking on me yesterday asking bout which airport you in now and what time was I getting home (even though he was at Dad's all night). blush.gif

Hubby did that to me ONE time, IW....stood me up at the airport. Ripped him a new one and he never did that again.

He always come back at me that when I fly into Kingston he was there early waiting for me and how I don't understand what it's like on the bus. I think if I didn't have a car and the ability to get around myself I would probably be ripping more. But I know I can get around Mobay and as far as Ochi by myself so I'm more lax on him.

question for you Island...What's your reason for flying into Mobay? I have been debating between KIN and MBJ due to my honey being in Port Antonio..and the cost and time is much better going into KIN. Is it just a comfort level?

I had filed K1 and K2 and Jr was in Hanover so the plan was fly to Mobay, pick Jr up in Hanover and then drive down. That was only reason. And I flew US Air which doesn't fly to Kingston so I had no choice but to stick with it when Jr didn't go. I do like flying into Mobay better because it is more "tourist friendly" so I find it easier to get out of there. Kingston has alot of lines and alot of people but if the price is better for Kingston, I'd go there.

I need some opinions here....

My Nieces birthday was on the 17th so we sent her a card with a Chuck E Cheeses gift card. It was Marley's idea and was pretty excited about giving this gift. Well yesterday in the mail I get a thank you note with the gift card back. My SIL wrote thanks but R is afraid of everything even Santa so we thought maybe Marley would enjoy it more.

I just want non biased opinions because I have told my Aunt and my Mom what has happened and they pretty much told me I was over reacting for being upset and to let it go.

Hmmm...Patty I could flop it either way. You could look at it as being ungrateful or you could flop it and think of it as giving it back instead of wasting it - sort of regifting.

If you're brother's like mine - he would have no clue.

Yes there has been some bad blood between us Quanna I think that is why I am even more upset. I have tried to reach out to her and put it behind us but no matter how hard I try she keeps doing things like this. In one way I don't feel like saying anything because things won't change but I don't think I should have to supress how I am feeling. Not to mention how Marley felt because it was really her idea to get the gift card in the first place so she was upset as well. She doesn't want the gift card so we are going to send it to Conmar's neice.

And I am with you 9 times out of 10 when we have gone, Chuck E doesn't even come out and if he does you just stay away from him. Get over it!

Well then...that's a different story. Be pissed and say something to her!! Let her know she hurt Marley's feelings as well.

I think I would've hit someone.

The ocean and palms trees was very medicinal. I wanted to choke him when he stood me up at the airport for the 3rd time (although I give him a small break cuz he coming from Kingston) but by the time I reached Discovery Bay...I was all chilled out and relaxed. Once I saw my favorite blue house in Mobay and the water and the trees, I felt the tension just ease out of my body.....till later!

And Shrewie...remember all those pinches we talked about - he got every single one of them!!

Congrats Island that is some drama. I am glad that he got approved. Has he already gone to get the police report?

Thanks - not yet. He had to go back to work today so as soon as he gets his next day off he will deal with it. If he pays the $2,000 he can get it in 3 days.

Re the nonimpediment - I would say try to roll without it if you can handle the possible blue slip.

I would rather pay and be safe rather than sorry - Because I know that I would be the person they would ask for it who chose to take the chance!

That's the way I think too. But I have certainly learned how to live outside the box in this relationship!!
