I probably should of written this the day of the interview so it would be more fresh in my mind
but my nerves were so shot from the whole day i wanted to wait. so here is our detailed interview
expierence to the best i can remember lol.

3am - woke up and we started to get ready to leave for our interview.

4am - got in the taxi and headed up to caracas for the interview. this is a long trip so we
studied each other on the way, asking each other example questions that the officer might ask us.

6:30am - arrived at the embassy in caracas (which might i add has one of the most beautiful views
of caracas that ive seen!) we walked to the front, had out bags and documents checked, gave them
our interview letter and were told to sit and wait and that they call in people for immigrant
visas at 8:30 in the morning.

8am - i was double checking all of our stuff and realized we had forgotten the medical results at
his house...#######! this is a big deal. miguel rushed around and started making phone calls for
someone to come and bring us the medical results. it was impairative that we had this. we didnt
want to have to come back and bring this on another date. finally he was told, someone would
bring it and be on their way shortly.

9am - we were let into the embassy finally, we went through security and then into the building,
through security again and then we were finally in the immigrant visa section of the embassy. we
didnt want to grab a number right away because there was only one person ahead of us and we didnt
want to be called up without having all of our documents, so we waited and waited for the room to
fill up.

11am - i finally grabbed a number, there was well enough people in front of us that by the time
we were called that we would have our medical results (well we hoped) #73.

12pm - miguel went outside to sit and wait for our medical, to see if they had showed up yet, or
to wait for them. while i waited inside in case our number was called.

12:45pm - #73 was called...####...miguel was still outside. i walked up to the window and gave
her my husbands name and told her we were here for his interview. she asked who i was and told
her, then i explained to her the situation and that he was outside getting the medical right now
and asked her if i could run outside and get him and she said no. she then opened our folder and
started going through all of our paperwork from USCIS and NVC and giving me back our originals
because i had given her photocopies. she then started to ask me questions. "how did you meet
miguel?", "when did you meet miguel?", "where did you guys get married?", then she said ahh good
you got married in venezuela. just then miguel finally showed up with the medical results
(woohoo) he gave them to the officer and then she said ok go sit down and wait for your name to
be called for the interview.

2pm - they called miguels name...we walked up the the window, she asked his name, and then she
asked miguel who i was. she told me ok danyel you can go sit down now. (#######) so i went and sat
directly behind miguel so that i could hear everything. then she started asking him questions
like "how did you meet danyel, when did you first meet in person, why did you wait so long to
meet in person, have you ever been to the united states, why didnt you try and get a tourist
visa?" then she wanted evidence, chat logs, phonecards, and then he started to show her pictures,
ALOT of pictures. then she started asking questions again, "does she have any siblings, how many, whats their names, where do they live, who is ___ (my dad), does your wife have any children, how many, whats their names, (and he showed her pics of them together as well), where are you going to live in the USA, what kind of work do you plan on doing, where was your wife born, where does your wife work, and then asked details about my job." she then put together some paper work and went and helped a lady in the next cubicle, while we waited in torture. she grabbed the file a couple minutes later and told us to come to the next window, i came with him of course. she took his fingerprints and then gave him an oath to read. she then told him that he was APPROVED and gave us our paper to take to DHL. WOOHOO


so now we are just waiting for DHL to get the passport from the embassy so we can pick it up!!!

personally, i just finished going through the interview process with my husband at this consulate. and i sincerely believe that me being there made ALL of the difference, they went as far as to interview me as well. The lady even said me being there was one of the best proofs for our case, and me coming there for the interview showed cause for her to be more sure of our relationship.

I'm having a similar problem. they tryed to deliver my package yesturday (sunday) and what do ya know, nobody was there to accept it. so they left a notice and have 15days to pick it up or its returned.... i really hope they pick this up. my husbands visa expires sept. 11th :(

That is great news! I'm am so happy for both of you. I'm waiting for my husband's interview date in Caracas as well. The NVC just received our DS230 on July 31st. How long from the time the NVC received your DS230 until you heard about your interview date? Maybe we will be there on the same day!

I called twice to get mine. first time i tryed was in the early evening around 7pm and they simply stated that the online system wasnt working and they couldnt give it to me. the next day i tryed at around 11:30pm and they gave it to me no questions asked. maybe try calling late at night, around closing time, maybe at that time they are more willing to give it out and get off the phone so they can leave smile.gif

definitly get ahold of the congressmen, yes they can help at this stage in the process. have your wife CALL her congressmen and they will be able to direct her on what info she needs to send them from there.

im guessing you didnt check the box to have a social security card sent to you automatically. i didnt either lol we went 3 days after arrival with no problem. you can apply as soon as you want. we recieved our ssn one week after applying....now were just waiting on his 2 yr green card. good luck!

I didnt send any pics at all except for the required passport photos. but I guess there's no harm in sending tons of photos.


I plan on sending my I-130 on monday,( not sure if im going for the k3 or cr1 just yet) but what i plan on sending is the I-13, the check, cover letter all g325 for both of us, 2 passport type pics for each of us, marriage license, copies of my plane ticket there in june of 2007 and the return ticket in sept 2007. affadavits from a few ppl that they now about our marriage, copies of some chats some from 2006 and 2007 and 2008. records from skype, pictures from our wedding party and when i was there (ive only been able to make the one trip so far). I still feel nervouse that i dont have enough. We havent been on any lease together or have bank account together. unsure.gif



well in about 5 hours i'll be sending mine off with this enclosed :

Cover letter
Check for I-130
I-130 petition
Copy of my birth certificate
marriage license
translation of marriage license
form 325a for him & me
2 passport style photos of each of us
pics of me & him together (11 total) (a couple from each trip, our wedding, and the christmas card i had made out)
my plane ticket iteneriaries
and an affidavit by my sister.

yeah im not sending that much in either, maybe they think they should becaue they're K-1 (at least thats what it says) im sending in a few pics, copies of anything he put my name on as a benificiary, lease where it says i can say, and I guess copies of our CCs that we have together.

lol and edit...ok those goodies (passport pics) gotta get all those. I really want to mail it by Friday but I bet I won't be all set till next week sad.gif
