I'm starting to get really frustrated/depressed from all of this. i dont know how you guys stay so strong but im not staying strong at all, im growing weaker. and it just sucks horribly not being able to do ANYTHING to speed this process up! i hate not being able to control or help any part of this situation. i've considered throwing out a k-3 to maybe speed it along but its way to late in the game for that, and it would prolly just slow things down. im soooo happy for all of you that have gotten approvals and are at nvc or even at your interviews, but also i feel crazy jealous and disapointment that im not anywhere near that point myself. i wish i had more options. i thought about applying for an expidite (extreme financial hardship) but i know i would most likely get denied, and im afraid the denial would only end up resulting in it taking even longer for us to get approved. like a "nice try now you can wait longer" type of deal.

personally im considering going to venezuela and staying a couple months for the summer while larie is out of school. it would be great to be waiting actually with miguel, instead of waiting with him from another country. but i know that when i came back it would be like starting all over, and i would have no money saved and i wouldnt be able to do the paper work for the visa (by chance we get approved from uscis) for the nvc from venezuela.

this is seriously driving me to the brink. im a control freak.... and this is something i cant control.

sorry to throw all this out there, but im going insane, and none of my friends really understand what im going through at all. in fact when i talk to them and they try to give me advice it disgusts me because none of them know what this is like and i hate them pretending like they even slightly understand.

Do CR-1 filings take longer than K-3? Seems like most of the K-3s are getting approved where as us CR-1s are not. Should my wife be filing I-129F for me or will this just prolong things? It's been nearly 3 months since NOA1 was received.

well when we were all filing, the CR-1's were being processed at the same rate as k-3's but it appears as that may have changed now. i regretfully didnt file for k-3 either, but i believe its a lil late in the process for that.

The point wasn't to start a "I'm right your wrong" type conversation, I was just stating how I saw things. Personally I find it petty that they worry about a translation and not about a divorce decree. However, it's neither my case nor yours Catt and so in all reality nothing that either of us says matters. It was simply a chat between two people who have been going through the same thing from the beginning and not just bashing the procedure of the USCIS. Because believe me if that was the point, there would be so many better places to start. Hopefully if you decide to par take in our thread from here on out (which you're more than welcome to do) that we can get along and see everyones views on something.

Danyel - any news yet on your side? you have been very quiet the last couple days!

nice job of ending that spat hilkka tongue.gif

nope no news on my end...no touching, no emails, no nada....and let me tell you IT SUCKS! i've seen even some of the january filers from k-3 & CR-1 getting approved...pretty much an equal amount of both. yet in febuary only k-3's are getting approved, what the hell?! i wish some part of this process made sense, or was fair at least! im going to wait until mid-june before i start making a fuss. i.e filing for an expitdite, and if denied, i start going to congress. by july i'll be at 6 months....so im hoping i dont have to even start that ####### and they just approve my damn petition! sorry...just starting to get really upset with this process.

Catt - I assumed being a marriage certificate that a translation wouldn't be just a random piece of paper that someone wrote on. If it's an official document translated by a company or something it should be verified.

The point is: USCIS has to have means to verify that the documents they receive are legit. Hence the apostilles or legislations (depending on the treaty between the countries involved).
A translation of a marriage certificate, or any other document, is still just a translation. It isn't an offical document in itself at all.
How could USCIS in any way verify the authenticity of the translator (or translating company)? They cannot. Just about anyone could have written this, really.
The translation is therefore secondary to receiving (a certified copy of) an original document of which the authenticity can be verified (instead of the authenticity of the translation). There is no way getting around that. Only sending translations simply will not do.

actually anyone CAN write the translation. but yes i thought as well that it would be assumed to be sent with a copy of the original. my marriage certificate is in spanish. i had to send them a copy of that. as well as the translatiion. because what good is a translation without the document that your translating tongue.gif

you send it to them yet? if yes, have they recieved it? hopefully after that you'll get your approval tongue.gif

its usually nothing major, just typos and stuff.

you can call the rfe line and find out what they need you to fix.

if you scroll back a couple pages on this thread, i posted a link to the number for the rfe line and how to get to a live person on the phone.

good luck tongue.gif

I cant seem to find that link. I did call the number from the email and talked to a lady and she said that it was just sent out today so i have to wait 15 days to see if i get it in the mail and that she cant see what they are requesting. Dam now I have a headache! blink.gif

Romania is said to be quite ok and fast when it comes to the embassy process. Yet I hope I won't be disappointed... I'm gonna try and get an appointment ASAP and be with my husband... I haven't seen him for 4 months and most probably I won't see him until the BIG move smile.gif

Thank you Ralu&Doru you have no idea how much this meant to me!

I'm not exactly sure what happens from here on because our case is going forward with the I-130 and who knows what happened to the I-129F.

do you have any idea how long it takes to get an interview and process the application at your embassy?

what are the next steps after your k-3 is approved?

i thought you just waited to be contacted by the embassy.

After USCIS the papers go to NVC and after that NVC sends them to the embassy. Then the embassy requires some additional forms (for the visa itself+Affidavt of Support+medical) and only then you can get the interview. At least that's what I understood from all the reading on the forum and guides reading.gif . I'm estimating 1.5 to 2 months till this is all ready ClockWatch2.gif . My birthday is June 26 and I hope from the bottom of my heart I'll be blowing my candles in Cleveland!!! God help! innocent.gif

ralu&doru - wow! i'm so jealous my i-130 time line hasn't been that close...ever. hopefully it works out for you guys and you don't have to wait a lifetime for it.

danyel - our time lines are still close to one another you're august 15 and i'm at august 1. do you know how long the wait at your embassy is after your application is approved? i'm still trying to figure it out for my embassy, but i have heard that it can be a matter of weeks or some even wait months just depending on how fast your embassy works.

well from what i've been hearing from others going through our embassy it takes around a month for an interview, luckily lol it'll be the fastest part of this whole process haha

so the time line seems to be moving a lot quicker these days. mine says:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as June 11, 2008*.

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated as early as August 12, 2008*.

lets hope things keep going well and we hear something soon. i'm being induced on june 3 so i'm hoping to get out of the hospital to some really good news =) wishful thinking i know

During my daily routine, I came across this: my timeline changed dramatically

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as July 26, 2008*.

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated as early as August 25, 2008*.

I got no more touches since March 14, when the petitions were paired I think.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but has it happened to someone else recently? Actually I am a bit worried.. someone in the same situation as mine, also going with a lawyer got an RFE.. God help we won't get one, although we didn't put any pictures in the file. USCIS officer told us I would only have to take pictures and other proof at the interview in Bucharest, so we only attached Affidavits of a very close friend and of our godparents wacko.gif ... What do you guys think? The last thing I want is an RFE delaying the process.. It's slow enough! unsure.gif

I wouldnt worry too much! If it happens then deal with it, but just keep thoughts high and everything will work itself out. I didn't include any pictures with our application and I know a bunch of people who didn't either. Just cause you haven't had a touch in a long time it doesn't mean you are in for bad news otherwise we would all be in trouble =) good luck!

yea definitly dont worry... my case hasnt been touched since 2/26
and i even changed my address and that didnt touch it...which i think is odd lol
